Time to give rockwool a try and get away from that other title.

Thinking 1.0 EC 5.5 pH solution to pre-soak em in? For seeds and clones

Starting with some cheap 1x1x1 "rockwool" cubes.

Probably going to start with some clones of mimosa mint and or deleted scene.

Thank you sir.

So my tap is 120 ppm, .2ec~ so just a hint of my 9-17-28?

Kelp foliar good for cloning as well?
Kelp helps with stress like transplant. So give the foliar a try.
9-17-28 where did you find that? Those are specific to some plants.
Oh and no SIR stuff please.

The mother options.

One more ?

With our without clonex gel.

It's my JRCROPTECH 9-17-28 and I also have 5-12-26

All salts, sterile.

You need something. Clone Xis kind of expensive. It works fine. They all kind of do. I use dip and grow. They all work
Those 1” are kind of a pain in the ass. Did you buy trays as well? I have used them. Hard to get enough water out of them as the start. You want the rock damp but not soaking wet. The wetter tge cube the longer it take to get clones.

Not yet just have my humidome.

I had that thought as well, figured I'd just use a syringe to get the WC just right.

Probably only needs 20ml or so

And thank you, I do have some clonex gel, I was just curious if you used gels or root stims

A seemingly super cheap and simple salts for veg and flower my buddy LJFarming is trying out and sent me a few LBs of each, the JRCROP

Veg

Flower

So I should use the JRCROPTECH flower 0-21-26 with the 15-0-0 for clone process ?

Here is the system I developed for clones. I am not saying this is the only way but just what works for me. I use 1 1/2 re cubes with the wrapper around it. I soak them in a solution of jacks clone and seedling mix. I put 3 in my hand and I act like I am throwing a ball underhand and stop abruptly. I do it 5 or 6 times. For me that gets the water content just about right every time. Pop the clones in and they sit for 5 days with the lid closed. Then I start to harden them off.

No use the 5-12-26 with 15-0-0. Those are some funky numbers. I saw that guy on insta pushing that stuff. I do not know how it works. I am using a custom blend from master blend 0-12-24. It has s a knock off of Athena but I modify it further

Thanks anthem, exactly the information I needed.

I'll trust you're process.

I'm just getting the basic nutes down and getting into the modification bit

just throwing all my ph stuff in a half gallon of distilled got me 200ppms .5 ec

trying again, nutes first then ph lol.

alright think i got the solution just right

about to start getting some wet

First 2 cuts in

So just playing around with clones and perhaps some seed starts soon in the rockwool, suppose once the flowers are done I'll get some bigger cubes for the smaller cubes to go in.

Then some rockwool slabs or so perhaps.

Agreed dude. Ive been keeping a lot of my plants in solos and ive been learning how to read then a lot better and its easier to fix them in solos it seems.
Small root zone/media quick to dry out and reset the media if issues occur, roots develop better/ nicely/ faster in a smaller container

Quicky build up the root system and then move to a bigger container media.

Plus added benefit of gas exchange, more air around the roots/oxygen to em. Especially when they completely envelope the media and get all wrapped around and you just see roots, high-freq-fert time and especially if optimal environments they can fill up the small containers pretty fast for DTW/Coco

That's where the whole, start in a gallon, then 3gallon then 5 gallon or so to help train/build up the root ball/system (soil)

Yeah im finally starting to actually give a shit about the science behind it all now that ive been sucking wind for 5 years lmao.

Ive learned a lot this year alone its crazy.

Read a lot of the links and shit you posted which definitely helped.

Good, no problem man.

My mind is still pretty spongey it seems, so was able to pick it all up rather quickly and diving deeper and deeper in the chemistry of it all too which is fascinating.

Being ADD/hyper helps, be/by reading/trying multiple things at once.

And that's just the chemistry of the water I make and nutrients, yet to really get into the specifics on the plant mechanics and how that all actually works.

Did a little soil grow my first time in 2019 and then got back into it when I moved in the last place around 2021 and then learned all about DTW-coco/dwc/hydro some aero
Discovered a passion

what makes em grow faster

Growth medias and systems

How nutrients work and play a role etc

Dos and donts

What you can and can't get away with doing

Can't really track temp/or rh as I don't have the extra equipment for the third grow/clone spot.
But it's domed so 70+rh
House is 75f

I'll take some more cuts here soon, and I'll probably start a seed in the wool too to see.

Maybe one of the seeds canny sent me

Plus it seems some overestimate the pot size they actually will use/need, besides new growers of course even in soil, I dont think anything bigger than 5gallon soil is needed for 5x5 tents, besides how often you want to water it.

I'm still a "new grower" id say

I mean shit there's guys on here thats been doing it since there 20s or so and are now in there 50s+

I got a brief 3 years or so of it

Umm..are you going to grow 250 plants in 1" rockwools?
I can't say the thought has not crossed my mind, lol.

It would turn into hydro at that point, they'd have to sit in nutrient solution...

Like a hybrid NFT (nutrient-film-technique/nutri-film-teq) and Flood & Drain - that could work probably.

For now just playing with it, trying cloning and starting seeds in it, and figured I'll just buy bigger cubes and slabs for them to go on top of.
