Stoney's Luv Shack

Hey man are you selling those cigar molds? what about those bottles of terps spray?

no man, those are air freshener sprays for cars not terpenes, i was joking when i said i wanted to spray em on weed! not really though, wish my bud smelled like that grape soda!! :D

.

not selling the molds, just giving them away. why, ya want one?

I would not mind getting the mold. I knew those where car scents just messing with you on that one. My buddy played in basically a weed industry golf tourney the other day and one dude actually was bragging about selling the terp sprays and saving crops for people. It happens out this way.

Some tech that was working at one of the LGO's I was at told me that the way he got really good terps was he would bury whatever fruit he wanted the weed to taste like under the root ball.......😑

Mean Stoney I would really appreciate one of those. Is that something you have to run by bandit because he started the design? I know I had a run in with him over being the tofu police THING so I would hate to have him pupu making me one!

Have plants, will travel. 🤣

What’s the idea? 🤔

I have this hydro berry tower in my grow room and it's on wheels now but to make it into a true robot to where I can drive it outside for Sunny Winter days or take it on walks to freak out the neighborhood, it's gonna need to be on a rc controlled platform. 😋

IMG_6028.JPG

So I'm looking for a robot chassis that can hold it's weight which isn't much, just the weight of 5 gallon bucket of water and a few more pounds of plant and plastic, and then be able to drive it around.
I'd prefer it to have tank tracks instead of wheels but wheels will do fine if I can't find one with tracks.
That robot platform kit looks choice and it's only a couple hundred to buy direct from China where as a store in the US is trying to sell the kit for almost $1000.
But I know next to nothing about these things. IDK how Raspberry Pi works or if it's even needed for this. It seems Arduino is ideal just for driving and steering and I'd like to find an all in one kit rather than find parts separately because I don't even know what to search for. Hell IDK what kind of battery this will take or even how to assemble it! All I really understand is this thing exists, it could work, and it uses a PS2 controller🥴

about the only thing that concerns me is the omni wheels... you wouldn't be able to go down the sidewalk and street with it. it would get hung up on small transitions of anything more than a 1/4".. so gravel, sidewalk bumps, street to sidewalk joints, grass, sand, dirt, texas sized bugs...

the controller and interface and all that you could handle no problem. the power would even be something you could easily manage, especially since you now have some soldering gear!

you're past hobby RC with this and into entry level robotics. it would run on both 5v and 12vdc supplies, you provide both batteries. the 5v is only used to tell the motors what to do and the 12v powers the motors. you don't need a Pi, your ipad would probably all you really needed for programming.

your idea of wanting tracks is where you need to be. omni wheels just aren't practical unless your only on a carpeted patio with no terrain. i've seen very similar tank tread chassis using the same motors and controllers but never seen one that could carry that kind of weight unless you get into very spend options. i mean some of those construction RC vehicles can carry adult people around so it can be done it's just those things cost in the thousands.

the 30-1 and 90-1 are referring to the speeds. giving you the option of slow or fast. i really think everything about this would work for you except for those dang wheels... i could be wrong though man. i wish it would show it with any movement at all, or moving with that 50lb block on top i'd really like to see that to see what kind of stress was on those wheels. the chassis and motors and controller are tough enough for what you want i just don't know about the omni's... now if you had a back use for this if the strawberry bot don't work out then it might be worth it for you. but i gotta say the one robot in battlebots that uses omni wheels doesn't win often! it's main struggle is with getting traction on the steel battlebot floor.... but at just $200 it seems so tempting.

another thing.. you realize this is a kit? not assembled at all.. probably little to no instructions.

I could watch that all day.

That dude was looking quite satisfied for a split second there.

Many thanks for your input Brother! 🩲🩲🩲🩲

This could be a 3D printer style rabbit hole if I'm not careful. You've helped me narrow my search and yeah there's crazy expensive options and very few in the couple hundred range. I was thinking those wheels would be indoor only.
I'm not finding much of anything in the RC world. It's all robotic so yeah I think I need to set Battle Bots on the DVR and know exactly what I might be getting into here. Hell better wheels on the current platform and that leash RR posted might be the way to go! 😋

Bandit,
I have been out of the RC world for about 25 years. You could probably use some of the stuff for RC cars to control the thing. But the actual hardware would need to be substantially more robust. I know there are companies the specialize in the parts for those battle bots. Thing is I am imagining as already stated they are expensive.

RC is a very expensive rabbit hole!! i was happy to see 3D printer parts so cheap compared to RC!!!

ya know man i was thinking about this all day... give me a day or two to come up with a list for ya... i think it's doable for a couple hundred bucks.

i think you could get away with 2wd and that makes it a lot cheaper and easier. it would be a little bit custom but i think there might be a kit or two out there that would get ya most of the way. let me see how cheap we can get. i think the most expensive part will be the steering servo. let me look around...

playin around doin donuts!!!

bro could you just imagine rolling down the street with your berries on a leash! omg.. you gotta run into that lady with the gay dog again!! :ROFLMAO:

Also you might want to look at modifying one of those golf bag remote control jobs.

you could do that but by time you get a good one and put a radio and steering on it you're over a grand into it...
for that much you could get an Xmax... straight out the box it would do what he wanted and so much more...

My son orders kits from overseas a lot. He’s usually pretty happy with what he gets.

You going to put a NASCAR shell on it? 👍 Need two then…🤣

yeah you're right i was looking at the cheaper $800 models... wow talk about pricey!!!!

but i could totally see bandit using one of these!!!!

for that much wouldn't ya rather have an xmaxx??? i mean you can't do this with a golf bag....

right?!?!?1 i'd want 40 of them though!!!!! i've bought a few RC things from banggood and never got ripped off. just gotta watch what ya get.

been another busy week and the weekend is here already!!!!! i got a date with the cannagar i rolled up tomorrow night at my buddies shop!!!

we're gonna do some body work on his '70 nova... burn the cannagar and probably burn some body filler too!!!!! hehehe

20231206_154430001.jpg

for those of you that never burned bondo before, it's like 4th of july in your garage!!!!

i got to detail and drive this sled today... he brings it to me a few times a year, it always looks this good! not bad for a hyundai!

so my plants did Not like the feeding i gave them earlier this week. i kinda think it was the cal/mag because all the tea i made went down the tubes and none went to the smaller canned plants and they got torched just as well so i know not to do that again any time soon... i'd say never again but i've done it before!!!! they've been on a water diet ever since.

DSCN1503.JPG

i pruned two of them and will prune a few more this weekend...

hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!! keep warm!!!!!!!!!!

I am not too familiar with the cars. I have one a buddy build one for me 10 years ago. Went to the track a handful of times but never really got into it. I flew gliders, started out doing slope and slope racing and switched to Thermal Gliders. 120" to 144" stuff. Towards the end we were making our own molds and planes. There was literally like 1 or 2 percent bolsa wood in the things. Mostly carbon fiber wings and kevlar fuselages. I would really like to get back into Hand launch stuff again. It is kind of fun. Planes are 60" wing span and weight around 10 to 12 ounces.

That's one helluva angry and salty little truck you got there!!!☠️
I miss RC cars a bit but don't miss how much I used to spend on that hobby.
I got into RC in high school with my stoner pals then dropped off and picked it up again when I was stationed in Korea.
Little hobby shop on base carried Tamiya stuff then down in the 'ville was a Kyosho factory store. By the time I left I had 4 cars. 🙃Once stateside I got into RC10s and had a badass buggy and truck and those were spendy AF but won just about every race I entered on base.
After the army my new job just took my time away so I sold all my kits but I still get that itch. I think that's why the hydro droid has my fancy right now but yeah I've been looking around at RC monster trucks lately 🥴

Got my popcorn ready to see what comes out of those beans too!

That Nova is a bad mutha! My first car was a '73 nova with passenger side body damage from being ran in a ditch hahaha! Bought it from a weird grave digging tweaker dude my parents hung around with.
Also knew a guy who was all into lowriders but he had a Nova muscle car like that with an engine so big they had to chain it down to the chassis or it would break the motor mounts.

And that's a Hyundai? Looks like a Bentley or one of these Mazeratis I see around town. Please tell me you tried to burn the tires down just a little hahahaha!!!

theres not many stock parts left on my traxxas anymore.. i've modified pretty much everything on it to make it heavier, faster, more powerful, and as low of a center of gravity as i can get!! but yeah she's mean and salty!!!!!! :D here's a pic when it was new...

20210307_185733.jpg

i have some friends that are really into it as well, once in a while we all get together and crawl!! my truck has a bluetooth speaker mounted to it so everybody likes to crawl around me!!!! haha

20210313_171948.jpg

i remember having an rc10... i think a hornet and a fox too!!!! rc10 might have been the first serious rc though, that one came stock with bearings versus most had bushings back then. i bet i still have some parts from back then packed away somewhere!!! i used to poke roofing nails out through the tires to make them spiked and we would rack on frozen pools with em!!!!

.

i bet that 70 nova and yours were real similar!!! he has work in the front end on that thing.. its all tube front end with a mean motor in her. he is putting an all fiberglass front end on to save weight. she's be a frightening. all the work he's doing is pretty much so he can do wheelies, it's his main goal with car since he bought it!! i'll take some pics of that nova tonight!!!

and that fancy car is really a Genesis but they're a sister company of hyundai... their goal is for you to look at the genesis and never think hyundai. i think they succeeded!!!! the thing is pimp man!! the tachometer turns into a monitor of the cameras when you put on the turn signal!!!

and man i so excited for the next round of bean popping!!! i already just want to get this grow over and done with so i can start fresh and try out some of these killer strains i have!!!!!

i keep changing my mind on the next lineup though!!! i just can't decide!!!! hahaha

Stoney go on You Tube and search for Dynamic Soaring. This got started after I was done with Gliders but they get them up to I believe 458MPH. There is a term called Puff Factor. After you watch a couple videos you will probably figure out what is means.

we fired it up!!!!!!!

DSCN1521.JPG

it took a torch to get it going well, but once it was lit it burned perfect all night long. never once needed a relight and burned perfectly even.

so there was five of us, five seasoned smokers not a lightweight in the group and we gave it all we had for over five hours and this is as far as we got...

DSCN1526.JPG

a yule log for sure!!!!

the tip worked out perfect, well one dis on the tips.. because of the hole in the center of the yule log it allows the hot smoke to travel fast and direct and the tip has a hole right in the center so the hot air comes through pretty fast and can burn your lip if not careful. not sure if blocking the very center hole in the tip would make it better or worse but might be worth a test.

i'll have to roll up a junior next, that thing was too much for just a few people!!!

That's a monster~!
The molds you made me arrived~!
My wife was like they do what?
Then she said it's like a blunt and I figured that was as close as a non toker was gonna get~!
I'll be getting my supplies all gathered and making a beast this weekend~!
Thanks Bro~!👊

sweeeeeet!!!! you're gonna be stuffing that thing wondering where is it all going??? it almost feels bottomless at times when packing up.. i'm sure you could pack in less and not so dense but where is the fun in that?!?!?

yeah i kinda go the same thing here, the printer was going for a while and i got the question, whatch ya printin... i explained it and then i just got the slow head shake stare and she just walked away!!! 😆

Cool to see Y'all enjoying cannagars!
Over Thanksgiving weekend I got this gift pack from Purple Rose where I ordered a case of wraps and they threw in 30 wood tips, a tube for cannagars, and a torch.
Y'all want some wood tips? Because I reuse mine and damn sure don't need 30 so I have plenty to spare. I can also throw in some wraps but they're not really all that great or have the flavor they said they would. They're Blazey Susan rose wraps and they need plant based rolling glue to seal them up.

Also gotta say Stoney your slicer setting recs to toughen up prints is tits Bro! I'm redoing all my stripper pole mounts right now using those settings and now they're tough as nails! No more cracking and breaking!

And I thought I'd share this with you guys. I saw this at the grocery store and wondered WTF is it doing in Texas.
Then I remembered all the transplants that have been moving here from around the country and they're changing our culture and our way of life for the worse.
I feel like I need to go full tilt Karen here and demand to speak to a manager because this is fucking treason....
