Yea I like little I see out there car wise.
I have never purchased a 'New" vehicle.
Not really a Ford or Chevy guy.
I own both and even once owned a Volvo~!
But having a blind allegiance to any manufacturer is foolish IMO.
I usually zone in a model car I like and search and research it for months, maybe years before I find the one I get.
That is how I got my Crossfire and Corvette. Spent a couple years looking around for the Crossfire.
Fun car. Fast little car~!
The vette I got lucky with. Anybody remember something called Covid~!
When others were stuck home I was an essential worker [ never missed 1 day].
Guy was selling pretty cheap and I was already in search mode.
All my trucks have been Ford except a 2011 Colorado low rider I could not resist~!
That little thing was a blast too~!
i totally agree with not having an allegiance to anybody... some would say i'm married to nissan but it's not true i just happen to have a 92 pathfinder (the one that won 4x4 of the year that year) that lasted me over 25 years. so i bought an xterra, the day i bought it somebody hit and run my pathfinder totaling it!!! this xterra is an 03, garage kept and still in great shape!! i got about 140k on her... i have no idea what i'll get next.. probably look at nissans but nothing in mind at all. my first requirement is stick shift so that narrows things down real freakin quick! haha
sticks a great anti theft device though!!!! that and crank windows... get a car with those two and nobody will ever steal it!!!!
i'm like you in the way that i like a practical vehicle and at least one or two fun ones stashed away!!!
as for the shopping i couldn't be more different, no planning at all. when its time it's time and i'll just search till i find three or four i really like and i pick the favorite one! I know if i like it within five minutes, the rest is just going over the mechanical.
i know one thing for sure, i'm not buying another one of those 3.2 nissans with the sixth spark plug from hell!! i've owned that motor for three decades now and enough is enough!!!!!!! please don't mark my words on that one, i might pull that stupid move if i like the rest of it enough!!!
the very first time i changed one of those i broke the ceramic off and it fell between the hex flat and the counterbore of the head... ahh i'm twitching form the experience still now and that was over thirty years ago!!!!! hahaha
i'll be truck/suv shopping in 2024-2025...
