toilet paper rollsI like the compostable cardboard "tubing" to help hold the seedlings up, heck of alot better than the wire glob I got made up for mine
Guacamole, avocado spread
I was trying to be fancy lol
6 days later and the compostable cardboard tubes have composted lol
It all depends in the media, organic or synthetic nutrients and watering ability… the better gas exchange the faster growth…. Imo a 1 gal coco fabric will outperform a 3 or 5 gal of the same but when i did that i had to water 14x a day at peak… albeit only 250ml at a time.i been using 3 gallon fabric pots i do have some 5 gallon fabric pots , i am wondering if there would be any advantage to using a 5 gallon pot over a 3 would the plant yield more by just being in the 5 then the 3
yea i have read it a few timesIt all depends in the media, organic or synthetic nutrients and watering ability… the better gas exchange the faster growth…. If organic then the larger pot size is a benefit since nutrients need to be broken down and are not nearly as available and break down over time.
There are a lot of variables to this. Have you read my watering thread or high fertigation coco?
Yeah there is no simple answer of pot size or media… it always depends on all the other factorsyea i have read it a few times
Pro mix HP is what you want… ideally you want to water every 2 days in your type of grow… you adjust the soil and pot size to do so. And you should be able to saturate it at watering or its to dense or to large of a containerfor like the last year and half i been using this wal mart pro mix premium moisture control that has something in it that holds on to water like a diaper , after a few grows i finally got it where i have to water 3/4 a gallon every 3 or 4 days in a 3 gallon fabric pot but you can not saturate this stuff if u do u will water once every 2 weeks lol
you may be correct but it is not available around mePro mix HP is what you want
no other stuff i took 15 gallon of this pro mix and added 6 gallons of perlite it's been workingYou have any none moisture control? Just regular? Just ise that and mix in 30% perlite. You can make your own peat based soils easily…. Just look for peat moss that already has a buffer and add as much perlite as you need
Yeah id say thats a better choice and add perlite of about 30%not hp but it is all that comes up at my local home depot
Why did my dumb ass not think of this. I can get 4 cu ft bales of buffered peat for like 20 dollars. A 3.8 cu ft bale of promix BX is almost 60 dollars. Ive got 4 cu ft of fresh perlite in my shed. You have any none moisture control? Just regular? Just ise that and mix in 30% perlite. You can make your own peat based soils easily…. I took 20 gallons of promix bx and added like 8-10 gallons of perlite, water every 2 days. Almost the same time of day every 2 days they are dry.no other stuff i took 15 gallon of this pro mix and added 6 gallons of perlite it's been working
Glad to help brotherWhy did my dumb ass not think of this. I can get 4 cu ft bales of buffered peat for like 20 dollars. A 3.8 cu ft bale of promix BX is almost 60 dollars. Ive got 4 cu ft of fresh perlite in my shed.
Thanks again ya genius.

I do an organic soil grow, I have seen a remarkable difference in going from three to a seven gallon pot. An old saying, the larger the roots the larger the fruits.i been using 3 gallon fabric pots i do have some 5 gallon fabric pots , i am wondering if there would be any advantage to using a 5 gallon pot over a 3 would the plant yield more by just being in the 5 then the 3
i think when it comes time to transplant i will go to 5 gallon fabric pots , i might even add a little more perlite to the mix , i am reusing the soil from my Acapulco gold growI do an organic soil grow, I have seen a remarkable difference in going from three to a seven gallon pot.
