Tips make pre rolls taste like chit

So ever since cannabis was legalized I could never understand why pre rolls taste like wet cardboard or something. Always left a weird aftertaste no matter what strain. But if you roll a fatty with no tip it taste great! So I made a bunch of pre rolls with tips from home grown. They all taste lick chit. So I break the tips off and bam, it taste like weed again. Try it! It’s amazing. I understand that tips kind of collect resin so it doesn’t get on your lips or whatever it they seriously change the taste to poop. Down with tips!!
I agree. I quit tips about a year ago. I like the way a doob tastes without the tip, as it smokes and resinates.

But what I really want to know is why back in the day you'd use a matchbook crunch on the outside of the doob but never thought to put it inside thew paper??

I’ve only used a dry herb vape since around june or july. Out of curiosity, I rolled some blue dream (one of my faves) and lit it up.

2 hits and threw it away. I can’t stand the burning smell or taste anymore.
Dry herb vaping isn’t without drawbacks, but it certainly tastes better to me.

That was kind of surprising to me. I didn’t expect to lose the taste for it so rapidly!

I was pretty much the opposite with herb vapes. Not sure what I don't like but it's just off for me. The dryness is something I don't understand because I'd think smoke would be as dry too but for some reason vaping is extra dry on the hit.
Another factor is when I quit smoking cigs, joints really helped with that so when I fire up a doob I get that relaxed sense cigs once gave me and I haven't found that in my herbal vapes.

this happen to me as well... caught me by surprise. seems like all the good smoke flavor is now undetectable. i used to be able to tell subtle differences in smoke and now it just all tastes like the first time i smoked herb as a teen. i feel i ruined myself!

Dry herb vape vapes are great for taste until about half way through the session. The other half tastes like the ABV it’s sitting in. Just my opinion. They are very good vessels to be stealthy when needed. Very hard to be a good joint for anything else.

I couldn't say it better.
I get about 4 sessions from my Pax2 with a full/fresh chamber. I'm usually pulling 3 to 5 hits per session.

Session 1: I got the greatest weed ever!
Session 2: Decent weed, good buzz!
Session 3: Well, at least I don't have to reload, decent buzz. sorta!
Session 4: tastes like smoking a roach found floating in the subway toilet! But it's a decent buzz! Don't ask me how I know!

anybody else here use the ceramic caps from grolsch beer to smoke with, we called em roach rocks!

We called them toke stones. I still have a few cases of empty bottles. Used them for home made beer years ago.

I’ve found my older weed, especially when lower than 60RH, is best for smoking. Get a little higher too I think.

My newer weed or jars with 62+RH weed is nicer in the vape. Aroma and taste is strong. High is fine but I alway think it’s a little stronger when smoked.

Over the winter we vape more because screw going out in the snow to smoke. 🤣

Difference between smoking and vaping dry herb are the temps. Various terpenes release at different temps effecting taste and high. In a joint there is combustion which releases all the terps all at once. Dry herb vapes can be temp adjusted and the herb does not combust.

That is exactly what I take advantage of. The PAX2 has 4 temp settings. I used to start at the lowest, now I use the 2nd lowest and with each session, bump the temp up. Definitely taste different things at different temps. Not all are pleasant.

Oddly enough, some taste better at low temps and other are better at high temps.
They all taste burnt at the highest temp ( to me anyway!).

Pax used to have an app on the apple apps site. Gone now due to vape restrictions and minors. But it was a good app. You could set the temp at whatever you wanted beyond those 4 settings they are equipped with out of the box.

Some of these restrictions are so random it makes me wonder. I realize this old world needs laws, but in my perfect world, it would be peaceful anarchy!

Do what you f’ing want, just don’t mess it up for someone else!
