The Psyche Gardens

i might try to innoculate the roots with myco, and run 34% h2o2 along side as well.

  • Mycorrhizae Need Oxygen: Like plant roots, mycorrhizal fungi require oxygen for respiration and metabolic processes. They are not anaerobic and will not thrive in oxygen-deprived conditions.

  • Aeroponics Provides High Oxygen: A properly functioning aeroponic system, especially with a 40µm mist, delivers a significant amount of oxygen directly to the roots. This highly oxygenated environment is generally conducive to mycorrhizal colonization.

  • Benefits of Oxygen for Mycorrhizae:Sufficient oxygen is crucial for the germination of mycorrhizal spores, the growth of their hyphae (the thread-like structures), and the formation of the symbiotic relationship with the plant roots.

  • Low Oxygen is Detrimental: Conversely, conditions with low dissolved oxygen or stagnant water can hinder mycorrhizal development and even lead to their decline. This is why good aeration is important in any hydroponic or soil-based growing method when using mycorrhizae.
  • Different Types of Mycorrhizae:The most common and beneficial type of mycorrhizae for cannabis are arbuscular mycorrhizae (AM fungi), which form symbiotic relationships within the root cells. These types also benefit from good oxygen availability.
That's interesting......I was under the impression myco's do nothing in hydro grows.....or is it just the aeroponics that can take advantage of it??

Want/need to get some 1-2 inch circular drill bits to properly fit the net cups I have

I Want shit to be "proper" as I can afford/get it.

Tight fits and no/minimal leaks.

Get the small hole saws rather than the wood drill bits. Cleaner job. Backwards is cleaner cuts as well.

i think the myco will have benefits, it will contribute to the root mass, and i dont think its just about nutrient absorption, the symbiont relationship it forms with the plant, how they exchange nutrients, sugars, and exudates, the myco colony is like a safety net/ physical barrier as well, fungi likes oxygen, and an "aero env" should provide plenty.

it can also help the bioavailability of nutrients and i think it helps regulate uptake, help against toxicity.

once i get going we'll be able to see the fungi colonize the roots, and see how well they do or dont.

fungi will consume Ions too, not just decomposing organic matter.

it can make things more efficient, could help with very specific dialed in water and nutrient usage.

took the seeds out of the vert-Germ , placed them in the rockwool, once one taproot grew in/threw the RW, i pinched one of em.

and that was the result

might just get one of those unibits lol
through*

dont think i really answered you're ? my bad.

im not sure about its use in DWC, ive not done it in DWC.

but i THINK itll provide benefits in an aero environment.

ill be "testing" it soon.

Hell yea

I'll start playing with it tonight and see what else I need, then I need to get some Elements.

This little pump has some weight to it.

I think it's a "diaphragm" pump

Should produce droplet size "around 40um"

@Observer I like the high pressure setup, should be a few steps up over low pressure for sure.

I have a little insight into this:
That's interesting......I was under the impression myco's do nothing in hydro grows.....or is it just the aeroponics that can take advantage of it??
Mycos have worked for me in hydro, in DWC, aero, and RDWC. The catch, I had to start with "clean" water to be able to go live without any baddies growing and without killing the good ones. The easiest way for me is to just start with RODI water, no dechlorination needed.

I'd like to think that's why I have the biggest and healthiest roots and plants I've ever had this go.

I think this was a week or two before switching to flower. I'm scared to even look how big they are now. This is all live with beneficial bacteria, tricha, and mycrohorzie.
Gets fuzzy and all that good shit lol

Those look great.

@ninjadip ive been wanting to do a "proper" aero system like 5 years ago, when i discovered this hobby and passion.

When I was first learning about all the different growth systems, etc.

This seemed the closest I can get to a HP aero on a budget.

I need some fuckin tools now lol
A unibit is a good tool to have. I wish I would have bought a kit instead of piece mealing a tool at a time. Now I have like 6 various hole saw drill bits and one unibit lol

If you are drill trigger happy be careful with the unibit, she can get away from you easy when you are first getting the hang of it. Or maybe it was just me lol

I bought garden spray mist nozzles to do it one time and didn't follow through. I liked that video of the setup you shared, should work out good. I think the only possible bottleneck is getting clogged at the nozzle, or is the pressure so high that it self clears? Your mention of h202 should help to keep them clear.

what are you thinking of any possible issues with the setup?

I think the most difficult part is getting it dialed to the roots/plants needs, it's a bit different ball game working with smaller drop sizes, variables like molecular weight now come into play.

Some nutrient/elemental molecules weigh more than others and affect bioavailabillity, but I don't think it'll be as drastic with ~40um compared to 1-10um like fog.

But I was hoping the mycorrhizae will help with that.

It may also be more susceptible to other nutrients, causing toxicity , especially when out of balance.

Those look great.
Man I owe it to this stuff, TPS billions.
Only one I seen that has you add it before you do a res change because it is crazy strong. What I found also works is using a micro dose after the res change if you forget to do it before.

What are you going to use, Orca or great white? Those are very good too

Oh sweet thanks.

I'm not sure yet but maybe liquid orca, there might be like 5 options for me.

Orca
Great white
?
?

There was another product that looked good for my scenario but think it was a UK only product.

On to the water line routing.

Guys, these nail drills are pretty legit for drilling in plastic

Nail eFiler or w.e my girl got lol

Lol
