Bandit on a Safari and I'm Hunting Unicorns

I'm sure there are better ways than rocks to hold the bags down. I've seen videos of some brewers that use PVC tubing to hold the bags down. I've been placing air stones in the bags with the ingredients. I've been thinking that having the air going into the water was an important part of the brewing process. When the bags float, they can lift the air stone out of the water. I'd be tickled if the bags hung just under the surface like the brew ball in your photo. I'm tempted to go bagless and just strain the tea when I plan to load it in a sprayer for a foliar application.

I didn't have to worry about the rocks affecting pH last year, because everything was growing outdoors and the rocks are in the ground all around the plants. I should probably come up with a cleaner method for submerging the bags, since I have indoor plants I want to feed, now.

I love those anoles. All of our lizards live under rocks and in wood piles. We do have some pretty cool looking blue tailed skinks, bu those suckers are super fast. Had my first snake of the season startled me last week. He was under a folded tarp I picked up to use. It was just a water snake, but I get a little jumpy when I'm right on top of one before I see it, lol.

Was just piddling in the garden and came across one of those blue tailed skinks, but something made him into a no tail skink.

View attachment 103932

I used to see those skinks all the time in California.
Funny thing about the lizard living near my water tank...Saw it yesterday again and it's missing a bit of tail too!

And I know it's just leaves but I'm high enough to be seeing a dinosaur fossil skull in there. Stared at it for a spell now just trippin' 🫠

when i first started growing indoors a snake slithered off my plants and down my arm... scared the ever living shit out of me in the moment!!! i don't normally flinch or make a noise when i get scared but i swear all my insides skip a beat!!! haha

Brisky on the pole again!!!!! back in the day Joe neamacheck (speling??) got a lot of poles.. they called him front row joe.. might have to start calling Chase front-row Bris-coe!!!! haha

i love night races!!!!!! larson doesn't have the best record at night unless on dirt but i get excited every race at night anyway!!! imo it's the best way to see a race live!!! i've been to two richmond and two bristol night races and those races stick with me more than any other!! pit road is gonna look so awesome tonight on the in car cams with all the teams lit up signs!!!

brisky is gonna love that number one it stall tonight!!!!! track position is the name of the game and he has a bonus right there!!!

lets rock n roll baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see tiny snakes under rocks all the time but it's been a while since I saw one that had me pause.
It was a few years ago and there was a huge rat snake stretched out on my deck sunbathing.
I'm not much of a snake enthusiast so when I walked out and saw it I was like

walk-in-walk-out-walk-in-and-leave.gif

Man...That pole winner shit is both a gift and a curse.
I'm seeing some shit in that 19 I'm not liking at all.
Driver needs to get that edge back that got him a win last year. This nice guy shit aint working when he's racing guys like Hamlin who are cutthroat AF.
And James Small. Starting to see why people say he can take a front row car and send it to the rear by the end of the first stage and never recover.

After reading a few things and checking them out I asked my son to order 100 of these.

I just hope they really are biodegradable, unlike the Jiffy peat pucks.

IDK if they will decompose but I'm sure roots can destroy them into shreds.
If there's any starch in them worms will turn them into plant food. If not, could be a microplastics deal and be best to remove as much as possible before sticking in the dirt

man your new plants are just blowing up!! must be liking the tea!!!! looks like you've been giving those tomato plants some too.. man i guess thats somethin good about living in the city, i could never leave my plants un protected like that.

you guys didn't mess around with your fruity freaks at all, got em growing already!!!,, i need a couple weeks, maybe even a month till i start a new round.

you're gonna love the small track racing man!!! you'll get hooked quicker than nascar with that racing!!!

what do they run there? i see the modified, do they run sportsmans class too?

i hear whet you're saying about james small. the crew chief is every bit as important as the driver is, larson could never win half the races without cliff daniels. he's be winning once every three years like he did with the 42 team.

.

we got some real nasty BS happening right now up here in the northeast... wtf?!?!! i don't AC in this time of the year.. makes me want to move north!!!

So you're still doing Winter 😋

90s have been just about every day here. Couple hit 100 already. Had some storms but still in a drought.
AC has been on for several weeks and Summer offsets are in play, reducing power to offset cost of AC.
Nice thing about losing weight, can take the heat a little better and don't need the dual AC, just the one.
My heat tolerance is super high thanks to the sauna as well. Haven't even needed to use the cowboy pool yet but it's early.

Yeah that COM lobster compost just makes the best tea. I'm making weekly batches of 25 gallons and everything gets it.
Sativas can get real pissy when it comes to feeding but I haven't met one yet that doesn't do well with a good tea.
Another reason the tea is my go-to on this grow is I'm nearly out of everything except for liquid squid, liquid crab, and yucca extract. Also down to one last bag of soil.
Everything is being used up and spent this grow, clearing the shelf of nutes and supplements. Ran out of Great White so ordered a 4oz pouch of Soluble. Didn't know they brought that back so nice to save there.

Once this grow is done I'll do the tear down and rebuild then finally get new bottles of nutes and stuff to start all fresh for the next run

I've also taken this grow down to basic fundamentals..
After this grow AI control will be introduced but I don't wanna lose touch.
This grow is so stripped down right now. No sensors, monitors, or control. Everything is off and on manual control like it's back in 1989.
Going solely by feel and reading the plants. IDK the temps but I do know it's warm to hot so that gives you an idea of just how little data there is on this one.
I've also turned off the supplement lights and am running just the Smax 1000 set 99 red/75white. May not use UV since this is a Summer grow and I'm being stingy about every single watt being used.
I can't tell you the height of the tables or the PPFD or DLI or any of that. 100% flying by stick.
It really is as dumbed down as reading leaves for hydration and light intensity, turning on fans and adjusting speeds to get the right amount of dance in the canopy, and a weekly feeding of tea. Kinda herky jerky some days but I'm feeling dialed in now.

I think those Freaks will require patience and a known, well worn plan of attack Buddy. They're different for sure and it's not time to ;fafo with anything I haven't done before. Just keeping it simple with basic gardening fundamentals in these early days and see how it goes.

IDK what to expect Saturday night but I'm sure it will be some good old fashioned redneck fun!
You know you're in for a good time when they sell safety goggles at the concession stand so you don't get dirt in your eyes.

This track is called The Cotton Bowl Speedway out in Paige, Tx. About an hour drive and 50 miles from my home.

It depends on the weekend because sometimes it's gonna be stock car racing but also Outlaw Sprints and Trucks some Saturdays.
We'll see 6 classes....

I searched out figure 8 and demolition derbys but none are near me and the one that will happen is later in August but I'll be knee deep in football camp by then.

Last time I saw races like this was back when I was a freshman in HS. The track was an asphalt oval at the same fairgrounds my mom showed horses. So while my family was doing that, I'd sneak in when the pits opened, get to the other side of the track, and make my way into the grandstands.

i really miss the garden center that closed down by my house.. they sold that compost for $7 now i have to drive three times longer and pay $17

you're gonna have a blast!!! i'm sure it's gonna be like every other small dirt track in america that i've been to and thats the fans are half the entertainment!!! sometimes the weirdos there are even better entertainment than the cars!!! and i have a feeling texas is no different! haha

if it's anything like the tracks around here, i suggest getting the goggles for sure!!! dirt gets slung!

you get to see a lot of classes, thats awesome man!!! most places give ya two or three at most.
i hope the weather is nice and y'alll have a blast!!

Yeah the AI controller is prolly just xtra nonsense I don't need. I'd like to get into it's moisture reading more than anything but I do get the sense it's gonna be fitting square pegs into round holes and some things may just not jive. I just don't see how it can make triggers on environment control any better.
It's gotta be able to do something other controllers can't do so the only area I see it having purpose is dosing a water tank and moisture alerts in soil and even that can be done without AI so where does it fit?
TBH, It very well could be a newbie trap and gimmick. After all, AI everything is the new hype

$7/bag on that compost is a steal! I get it at $24/bag delivered and even then considering what it does as a tea is still a really great deal. I bet 1 bag can make upwards of 1000 gallons of tea and holy crap do plants respond to it. I have a side by side going with philodendron and the lobster compost tea plant is about 3x as big and way more lush.
My tomatoes are the best I've ever grown thanks to it.
BTW along with the cayenne, I'm using a product called Repel All in both spray and granular on the ground.
It's inside the little fence line which you cant see because the fence is well camo'ed. I have the fence just so my dogs wont step in the treated area. But yeah squirrels want nothing to do with my maters this year. I shoulda also done up my olive tree.
It may help you too, IDK. There's a lot of vermin on the label they say it works on and all I know it's an A+ on squirrels

Hey speaking of racing...Diecast Santa came by the house today with the best $13 I've ever spent on ebay!

haha your AI is gonna look at your weather report and say nah.. !! hahaha

okay, i'll never complain again about having to drive to Tilly's to get it. its pretty heavy to ship, i'll drive the 15-20 minutes, it's all back roads, no traffic lights or anything to get there. not bad.

There's a lot of vermin on the label they say it works on and all I know it's an A+ on squirrels

hell for that price i'll give it try for sure!!! i'll put that stuff to the test for sure... i got something worth saving this year,, both peaches and apricots coming in this year!!!

Your capsule sandwich trick was a hit here. Seeing that upside down jar reminds me of the butter/batter we tried it with. As soon as we’re all well enough I think we deserve a treat. Just for special occasions, like Saturdays. 🤣

Oh I fully expect the first thing to come from the AI will be "Bruh?" 😋

I tell ya this cayenne and RepelAll is giving me new found confidence to start farming on a more serious level.
I'd love to have your peaches and apricots.
We have the ideal climate and just 30 miles west of us is like the peach capitol of Texas. 30 miles east, the watermelon capitol. Makes no sense to why I would not be prolific AF growing both other than evil devil spawn tree rat squirrels.
RepelAll does have some very bad reviews about raccoons though. I just didn't care about reviews though I was so desperate for a solution I'd try anything.

I've run the Smax solo a few times. I think the first was a couple years ago and that started the trend to move away from the 550s and commit to the Smax and rail lights 100%. It's such a beast and I'm so into using multiple lights that sometimes I forget how well it does by itself but it's heat output is a great challenge.

Yep I've watched the first two Earnhardts as well and just waiting for the right mood to continue. Just so sad. Like watching Titanic, you know the ending isn't gonna go well but I think Jr. and what he's done since will bring it a happy ending.
I just love me some Dale Jr man. I can relate so much to his youth and he has helped guide me thru new fandom like no other. And I don't think there's anybody in any other sport that comes close to his ambassadorship.

Yeah sounds like you know what you're doing when it comes to that remote and Max. Pick your battles bro. That's not one you wanna fight.;pass

Nice timing on the sug too because I've just about finished off my 14g jar. That stuff last me so long. I think I bought that jar like 3 months ago or something. Maybe 3-4 g left in it but then I got this other jar of Hood Candy badder the other day. That shit is insanely potent but costs 2x as much as all other wax and sugar.
I had like 2500 points to cash in which is a value of around $200. + I made my order online for xtra 10% off and buy 2 get 1 free on disposables
vapes + all the gummies I ended up with like almost $500 of dispo goodies for only $230.;hop
I have more loot to send your way as well. Several VG for you to pass along and also Steam's 'Vette VG. Also that free bag of Biozome Guy sent + a RC car and prolly more. I'll get to this next week and have just been waiting to get on vaycay for a clear schedule.

Man the other day I made another fan shop order from NASCAR to get my monthly points from that.
I have a shopping list now I'm pretty much gonna check off one each month.
This month you woulda loved my choice but I'm saving it for next month because this month I got a 23XI shirt that was limited stock.
So next month, I'm ordering this one...

There's something truly special to be said about free same day shipping on orders of $25 or more;smoke

They are nice and slow burning zero flavor papers!
Little bit better than the blacks I'd agree on that.

Yeah, also picked up a new wet topper for my peak and there's a better view of that one hitter quitter badder.

Locally made! Hard to tell in pics but the perc inside is fumed to a lilac color. Frosted branding letting me know it's made for Texicans by Texicans and hits crazy good like it's a way bigger bong than it is

Haha glad you liked it Brother!!!
Yep, everyday is good day for a dab!
Hope you're feeling better soon Buddy! Wish I could send this weather your way. 8am and it's already 80. We'll sweat more before 9am than most people sweat all day! 🤣

🔥

Freaks are still freaky!
Compared to their sister haze I'd say they're a bit runty but probably not?
I'm taking this inch by inch and just watching. I feel like hubris could really be a plant killer here so I'm sticking to fundamentals of good light, good soil, and good water then let them grow thru the pains of youth at their own pace.
It's hard enough to read leaves of babies let alone these leaves. As long as I don't see burn or any sort of necrosis I'm happy with how they're growing

IMG_8998[1].jpeg

Meanwhile, the Summer of Sativa continues to unfold indoors.
I need to cut down 3 poles for the net then it will be deployed.
So far so good. High cotton time!

AI in my room is gonna be like the GPS scene from Vacation

Funny you said that because this is what the Pulse App looks like right now for me

Screenshot 2025-06-08 102243.jpg

The temperature is high warning is always on this time of year. It's like the check engine light for my room.
I know from vast experience, the best fix for a check engine light is to cover it with a piece of tape. 😋I can't do that here so instead I just unplug it from the wifi.
The way I see it...when outdoor growers have plants out in 100 degree heat does an airplane fly a banner overhead saying how hot it is?
Yeah, Fuck that alert.

Yeah here we go again with another pole and best pit stall!!! ;rockb ;dance;roc🙄
No doubt the speed has been there all year but what's he gonna do with it in a crowd and in dirty air? We'll see! Michigan is a track he should be able to win. 19 does well there. JGR does well there. No excuse!!!!

Dirt track racing was just the fun remedy I was looking for and a helluva way to kick off vacation.
Siri lied...wasn't an hour drive. Maybe 37 minutes at most.
Doubt I'll be looking to go to the tracks outside of Houston and Waco because these same leagues of racing hit those tracks so like for Houston it would be almost a 2 hour drive to see the same cars. And from what I heard from people, Cotton Bowl Speedway is the best track of all three.

It filled my fix for speed, loudness, and that smell of high octane fuel burning. What it lacked was that smell of burning tires and the thunder.
There's just something about those Cup cars man. Even on a caution lap they thunder. The loud engines are a part of it but it's the weight of the cars and when they're in a pack, it makes thunder and I can feel the Earth rumble beneath my feet.
These dirt cars with the exception of dwarf and sport compact were loud and probably match truck and Xfinity there but Cup is so next level.
Atmosphere was exactly what I needed. That small town vibe of a good time. John Cougar or Bruce Springsteen could write a song about it. Everybody just happy. Lots of local regulars.
There was a track "Den Mother" as I like to call those types. She knew everybody and knew right off we were first timers there.
A biker club who brought their own keg but the whole gang was nothing but teddy bears.
Kids behind the grandstands playing pick up football.
One dude with a track dog and track dog knows everybody and likes him some funnel cake.
Just old school fun man and weather was gorgeous and cool.

I need that in my life. This city is wound way too tight and IDK if you've been to any NFL or college football game lately but they've become sports for the rich and snooty to hang out, flex wealth, be pretentious, and treat the game more like a social event than going to a game.
Then after the game all the fucking hanger ons lingering around like they're an inside part of this thing while we're all working. The whole time I'm thinking, mother fucker you just here because we won. You wern;t here last week working 'till 2am for this team and if we woulda lost, you'd be in some upscale bar somewhere bitching about how the coaches need to be fired and players benched.
There's none of that with racing and why I'd rather go to something like Daytona or Talladega than I would a Super Bowl.

The next race out there will be the 21st and on July5th. We'll go for the 5th because we'll see the same classes of cars plus the dirt trucks of Texas series and that should give me my Summer fix on live racing.
I've also been chipping away, she calls it gaslighting, on my wife and an idea I have about more metal art for the yard.
I want something huge for the front yard and am thinking about an old dead race car. Like just the chassis, wheels, and body and just stick it out there. Let kids play around on it while parents worry about tetnis. A good place for a mama fox to have some kits. Maybe even plant something like a cactus in it.
Found something yesterday along side the road that has a chance. My wife is sold on an axle with wheels as yard art since I told her it would be like that time at COTA when a truck lost it's entire rear end out there on the track. Woulda loved that souvenir to plant in the yard somewhere. If we're cool with an axle why not get the whole car is my angle here. 😋

I had no idea those yoyos were capable of providing that much tension. I was envisioning vertical hangers with a little give. Pretty neat.

I bought some of these greenhouse-style hooks and a big bag of the clips to try trellising my tomatoes outdoors. I can already tell I'm going to like them, even though my tomatoes have been neglected due to too much other stuff going on, recently. I went to order some more of hooks to have onhand, but they were out of the model I ordered with the first batch. I need to pick another company to order similar from. There seems to be plenty of outfits making them. Really, they look easy to DIY with a simple bending jig and some heavy wire. Looks like these hangers and clips could be used for supporting cannabis, if someone has something set up overhead to hang the hooks from.

I talked to a guy who co-owns a local nursery where I've seen tomatoes in his greenhouses grow like 12 feet up the line to the hangers. When they get that tall, he just undoes a wrap or two and lets the tomato vine belly out to the side and keeps training it up the line. He said he can keep tomatoes going for about 14 months like this. A ton of people do it this way. This was the only set up I've seen, in person.

He also sells cheap sections of greenhouse plastic to area outdoor growers to cover plants in the Fall. It's pieces he cuts off of his greenhouses when he installs new covers.

Damn! Those fish tacos look tasty. I'm too far inland to find red drum for sale, but they're good eating. They remind me of big sea mullet, Virginia mullet, kingfish or whiting (depending on what coast or beach you're fishing, lol). Great eating fish.

Thanks man! Love some fish tacos and even fish sandwiches when it gets warm. I saw the red drum there in the fish market and no way I wasn't coming home with some. I grew up on trout and salmon but nowadays I much prefer gulf coast fish and shellfish and living here gives me lots of great access to it.

The yoyos are kinda like a tape measure with the tension but on a string. It can hold somewhat tight to an extent then have a bend but don't break sorta deal going where it needs adjustment.

I've seen that type of string trellis you're talking about too. They sell it in spools sometimes like a kite string set up and I've come close to buying that dang spool many times. 😋
There's a mobile hydrofarm up in Dallas I've always enjoyed visiting when I go up to the state fair and their whole thing is about going vertical with the twine trellis deal. I take a ton of stuff from them about using vertical space and find inspiration every time I see what they're up to

I'm not setting any records over here but I have harvested my first tomatoes in over 2 years!!!
Team Outlaw - 4
Team Tree Rat -🥚

Here's the first two points scored yesterday

IMG_1507[1].jpeg

🔥

Got the some work done today moving plants from the flood and drain into new homes.
Next wave of plants I start in it will be ornamental flowers.

Rigged up the melons to go vertical, planted squash, and planted sunflowers.
Pretty much just seeing what will work and trying to farm in containers using old pot growing soil and rejuvenating it

IMG_1521[1].jpeg

IMG_1516[1].jpeg

Tomorrow all these little ladies get the training wheels taken off and get some sun.
I've also started prepping their spaces and containers

IMG_1512[1].jpeg

Never know what ya might find at a road side flea market in Texas on the way to some races.
I've4 seen puppies and kittens. Goats and chickens. Cockatiels and parakeets all for sale at those things.
But I've never seen a big ass bronze armadillo.
So now there's a big ass bronze armadillo in my front yard 🙃

man just that thing alone is enough to scare off the squirrels!!!!

i gotta say though i put that stuff down and there has been a lot of deer in my yard as usual but i haven't seen a single one under my peach trees so far!! i gotta remember to reapply soon!!!! i don't mind when the deer walk under them, it's when they stand on their hind legs and eat all the peaches right from the branch. or worse yet they take one bite out of the bottom of each peach.. fuckers!!! haha

.

so you're gonna grow all three of the fruity freak outside? are those the two freebies you got with them?

.

here's that mood light i had in that video.. it's like the 4th of july but mines messed up for some reason and puffco won't let ya change their proprietary ones.. so screw em, i made my own!!

It's funny man because yesterday after I got all the work done I was so happy and proud the repellents have been working then one of my cats casually strolls up and walks thru the fence and gets up under a tomato to hide and hunt.🫠
So I guess it don't work on cats or I need to apply it again.
We did get some rain so that may have washed it out too. I need more as well as more orange oil and fly traps so gotta make a run today for that stuff and stay ahead of the bad guys.

Yeah the two next to the freaks are Super Fun Haze, the freebies.
Not much if any freak to them at all and look normal even with the herky jerky weather and violent storms at night.

Yep I was starting to see opportunity for an outdoor grow this year then Driver's grow journal was just the inspiration needed to execute.
I'd like to see them a little more robust than they are since I'm comparing them to their freebie sisters as to how far along they should be.
I think once out under the Sun and some consistent weather will get them turning it on soon.
Plants outside just means something a little different for me. It's not even about getting any weed but more carrying on a tradition and keeping a spark alive. I love the total control and manipulation of indoors but outdoors is for the soul.

Don't know why the yellow doesn't show well in pics but I'll figure out the sharing now thanks to you later today.
It's a static scheme so it doesn't change up.

I really like the Austin Made topper but it was a bit of a treat-yo-self piece at $175. Holds a nice volume of water, keeps the smoke cool, and rumbles like a heavy weight bong so yeah I groovin' with it!
Nice change up to my sidecar when it's in the bath. I also want one of these Helix toppers. In the top chamber, the smoke will swirl like an upside down tornado. They're $190 online but local price is $165 so it's on the wish list. I went to the shop for it but came home with the Austin Made.

i read through some of the comments and i saw other people said it didn't work on cats for them either.

i mean i still see deer walk through, but they don't stand and linger anymore.. i really don't care if they eat the ground fall. i just don't want em hanging out doing wheelies all day!! haha

bottle said every two weeks i believe but yeah i gotta imagine rain means a lot in it.. we're getting three days of rain starting saturday so i'll wait till early next week and sprinkle again. i used about a third of the bottle.

not sure how it will work on the tree rats for me though, i don't have to worry about them until the peaches are ripe. they might just leap from other trees around and just never touch the ground.. i wonder if i can put it in mesh bags and hang it on various branches? like people do with irsh spring soap bars?

you've always had nice outdoor plants.. outlaw to the extreme there!!!! especially where you live! for me it's like eh, nobody can ever see them. little to no risk, but your place.. yeah that would pucker the ol cheeks for me!! haha not saying i wouldn't do it though!! haha

Been waiting for that one to come up free for ages! Audie Fucking Murphy too? Yeah gonna celebrate some Texican for sure!!!.

The freaks had some hours in the Sun today and lapped it up. Cool and wet don't make 'em very happy but warm and Sunny got them going

IMG_9023[1].jpeg

Fascinating little plants now they've pulled up out of seedling stage and becoming baby plants.

Outdoors has been the ultimate exercise in patience. 11 years ago everything around me was razed. A 5 story apartment building sits on my old guerilla grow spot.
Another four, 2 story homes border my property where a single 1 story once did. There's at least 48 eyeballs within sight of where I will grow and most have an elevated view down into it.
It's taken almost a generation for the trees and cover to heal as well as a certain amount of diplomacy to feel good about it.

You might remember when this was just a bare wall. It's this type of work that will now let me get some ganja in here hidden in plain site for some urban guerilla farming.

IMG_9020[1].jpeg

I'm planning on them being mobile so they'll move around the yard in this old giant sip

IMG_9026[1].jpeg

It's "docking station" is up near the deck to blend in with other plants but with help of my handtruck it will rotate around 3 different spots in the yard for full Sun action and to also avoid all those eyeballs possibly seeing them.

IMG_9024[1].jpeg

Got lucky on that run to the grocery store for orange oil and RepelAll.
I'd been thinking I'll need another bag of soil and luckily HEB had all the Fox Farm stuff for only $20/bag. Got the big 2cuft bag of Happy Frog and walked away happy.
Also thinking about dropping a bunch of greenpoint indica to grow outside too. Sort of an expend all ammo sorta grow.

3 minutes on imgur is a game changer!!! Now where'd I put that long ass video I couldn't use? ;rgg

i can have trip lights in my dab rig now too?!?!?

bc52ac9b9a742c4e255977e191461319.gif

Not only that, you can program the peak to run all green lights so it can be a worklight during lights out in a grow room!
Don't ask how I know about that 🙃

first waterboy, now spaceballs 2!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck it man, why not. But will anybody have the nads to do Blazing Saddles 2?

they do look a lot perkier from the sun!!! they look like some kind of fern or something,, i have a weed growing by my pond and yesterday i did a double take like is that a fruity freak? hahaha looked similar!!

oh no way, different world now.. i think the digital remastering of that one was even a controversy.

First week of vacation down, five more to go!!! I go back to work July 21. Pretty much just spent this first week doing yard work and staying high all day long.
How's this for a year with my teams....Football finished #3. Baseball will probably finish out around #10-#15 after an early exit from the playoffs. My girls in softball though...#1 and National Champions.
Other Spring sports not under my umbrella so just waiting on track and field results from this weekend.
The way it's looking though, they'll finish in a top 14 position and the cumulative of all the success by the teams will be the Directors Cup, awarded to the best overall athletic department in the nation. And with trophies come pay raises!!! ;rockb

This weekend we're doing things island style with the food and binge watching Bad Monkey along with the race action in Mexico.

Starting the days with mango corn flakes in oat milk with dried cherries and blueberries + fresh banana

IMG_9030[1].jpeg

Made blackend shrimp tacos yesterday but the pics suck and came out blurry.
Today we're going Jamaican with a jerk tenderloin while rocking my Peter Tosh shirt

IMG_1527[1].jpeg

IMG_1532[1].jpeg

Marinated it overnight in the jerk sauce and will hit the grill in a few for a long slow cook into late afternoon.

IMG_1529[1].jpeg

Funny you mentioned ferns because I've never grown a fern before. I've seen them growing wild in California Redwood forests and that's about it for my experience with ferns.
So yesterday I got a fern and planted it in this hanging basket I got from a roadside scrap heap a few years ago

IMG_9040[1].jpeg

I have it hanging under a tree so we'll see if maybe I can grow some camo for the freaks here.

Yeah turns out they love some Sun.
I could tell they were ready because they were leaning toward sunlight under the tent and pretty much ignoring the grow light unless it's dark

IMG_9033[1].jpeg

IMG_9034[1].jpeg

IMG_9035[1].jpeg

IMG_9032[1].jpeg

In a way they look like cannabis with the only exception being that where leaves get serrated these kinda have another leaf with in the leaf in the serrated splits.
Looks like there's gonna be tomatoes in the salads this weekend!

I believe driver and granny said they r slow growers in veg, but yeah, leaf size probably plays a part in that. That being said, I can't wait to grow some!
