Bandit on a Safari and I'm Hunting Unicorns

I'm sure there are better ways than rocks to hold the bags down. I've seen videos of some brewers that use PVC tubing to hold the bags down. I've been placing air stones in the bags with the ingredients. I've been thinking that having the air going into the water was an important part of the brewing process. When the bags float, they can lift the air stone out of the water. I'd be tickled if the bags hung just under the surface like the brew ball in your photo. I'm tempted to go bagless and just strain the tea when I plan to load it in a sprayer for a foliar application.

I didn't have to worry about the rocks affecting pH last year, because everything was growing outdoors and the rocks are in the ground all around the plants. I should probably come up with a cleaner method for submerging the bags, since I have indoor plants I want to feed, now.

I love those anoles. All of our lizards live under rocks and in wood piles. We do have some pretty cool looking blue tailed skinks, bu those suckers are super fast. Had my first snake of the season startled me last week. He was under a folded tarp I picked up to use. It was just a water snake, but I get a little jumpy when I'm right on top of one before I see it, lol.

Was just piddling in the garden and came across one of those blue tailed skinks, but something made him into a no tail skink.

I used to see those skinks all the time in California.
Funny thing about the lizard living near my water tank...Saw it yesterday again and it's missing a bit of tail too!

And I know it's just leaves but I'm high enough to be seeing a dinosaur fossil skull in there. Stared at it for a spell now just trippin' 🫠

when i first started growing indoors a snake slithered off my plants and down my arm... scared the ever living shit out of me in the moment!!! i don't normally flinch or make a noise when i get scared but i swear all my insides skip a beat!!! haha

Brisky on the pole again!!!!! back in the day Joe neamacheck (speling??) got a lot of poles.. they called him front row joe.. might have to start calling Chase front-row Bris-coe!!!! haha

i love night races!!!!!! larson doesn't have the best record at night unless on dirt but i get excited every race at night anyway!!! imo it's the best way to see a race live!!! i've been to two richmond and two bristol night races and those races stick with me more than any other!! pit road is gonna look so awesome tonight on the in car cams with all the teams lit up signs!!!

brisky is gonna love that number one it stall tonight!!!!! track position is the name of the game and he has a bonus right there!!!

lets rock n roll baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see tiny snakes under rocks all the time but it's been a while since I saw one that had me pause.
It was a few years ago and there was a huge rat snake stretched out on my deck sunbathing.
I'm not much of a snake enthusiast so when I walked out and saw it I was like

walk-in-walk-out-walk-in-and-leave.gif

Man...That pole winner shit is both a gift and a curse.
I'm seeing some shit in that 19 I'm not liking at all.
Driver needs to get that edge back that got him a win last year. This nice guy shit aint working when he's racing guys like Hamlin who are cutthroat AF.
And James Small. Starting to see why people say he can take a front row car and send it to the rear by the end of the first stage and never recover.

After reading a few things and checking them out I asked my son to order 100 of these.

I just hope they really are biodegradable, unlike the Jiffy peat pucks.

IDK if they will decompose but I'm sure roots can destroy them into shreds.
If there's any starch in them worms will turn them into plant food. If not, could be a microplastics deal and be best to remove as much as possible before sticking in the dirt

man your new plants are just blowing up!! must be liking the tea!!!! looks like you've been giving those tomato plants some too.. man i guess thats somethin good about living in the city, i could never leave my plants un protected like that.

you guys didn't mess around with your fruity freaks at all, got em growing already!!!,, i need a couple weeks, maybe even a month till i start a new round.

you're gonna love the small track racing man!!! you'll get hooked quicker than nascar with that racing!!!

what do they run there? i see the modified, do they run sportsmans class too?

i hear whet you're saying about james small. the crew chief is every bit as important as the driver is, larson could never win half the races without cliff daniels. he's be winning once every three years like he did with the 42 team.

.

we got some real nasty BS happening right now up here in the northeast... wtf?!?!! i don't AC in this time of the year.. makes me want to move north!!!

So you're still doing Winter 😋

90s have been just about every day here. Couple hit 100 already. Had some storms but still in a drought.
AC has been on for several weeks and Summer offsets are in play, reducing power to offset cost of AC.
Nice thing about losing weight, can take the heat a little better and don't need the dual AC, just the one.
My heat tolerance is super high thanks to the sauna as well. Haven't even needed to use the cowboy pool yet but it's early.

Yeah that COM lobster compost just makes the best tea. I'm making weekly batches of 25 gallons and everything gets it.
Sativas can get real pissy when it comes to feeding but I haven't met one yet that doesn't do well with a good tea.
Another reason the tea is my go-to on this grow is I'm nearly out of everything except for liquid squid, liquid crab, and yucca extract. Also down to one last bag of soil.
Everything is being used up and spent this grow, clearing the shelf of nutes and supplements. Ran out of Great White so ordered a 4oz pouch of Soluble. Didn't know they brought that back so nice to save there.

Once this grow is done I'll do the tear down and rebuild then finally get new bottles of nutes and stuff to start all fresh for the next run

I've also taken this grow down to basic fundamentals..
After this grow AI control will be introduced but I don't wanna lose touch.
This grow is so stripped down right now. No sensors, monitors, or control. Everything is off and on manual control like it's back in 1989.
Going solely by feel and reading the plants. IDK the temps but I do know it's warm to hot so that gives you an idea of just how little data there is on this one.
I've also turned off the supplement lights and am running just the Smax 1000 set 99 red/75white. May not use UV since this is a Summer grow and I'm being stingy about every single watt being used.
I can't tell you the height of the tables or the PPFD or DLI or any of that. 100% flying by stick.
It really is as dumbed down as reading leaves for hydration and light intensity, turning on fans and adjusting speeds to get the right amount of dance in the canopy, and a weekly feeding of tea. Kinda herky jerky some days but I'm feeling dialed in now.

I think those Freaks will require patience and a known, well worn plan of attack Buddy. They're different for sure and it's not time to ;fafo with anything I haven't done before. Just keeping it simple with basic gardening fundamentals in these early days and see how it goes.

IDK what to expect Saturday night but I'm sure it will be some good old fashioned redneck fun!
You know you're in for a good time when they sell safety goggles at the concession stand so you don't get dirt in your eyes.

This track is called The Cotton Bowl Speedway out in Paige, Tx. About an hour drive and 50 miles from my home.

It depends on the weekend because sometimes it's gonna be stock car racing but also Outlaw Sprints and Trucks some Saturdays.
We'll see 6 classes....

I searched out figure 8 and demolition derbys but none are near me and the one that will happen is later in August but I'll be knee deep in football camp by then.

Last time I saw races like this was back when I was a freshman in HS. The track was an asphalt oval at the same fairgrounds my mom showed horses. So while my family was doing that, I'd sneak in when the pits opened, get to the other side of the track, and make my way into the grandstands.

And I'm getting some bumper stickers made in honor of the carpetbagger responsible. Only getting 10 made to start. Will slap one on the rear bumper of Murder Truck and the rest leave at the dispo for the budtenders to do with as they see fit

i really miss the garden center that closed down by my house.. they sold that compost for $7 now i have to drive three times longer and pay $17

AI huh? you think a computer can grow better than you? i highly doubt it.

is this the first time you will be using the Smax solo by itself?

i hear ya man, i'd like to grow them in a simple a-b run as well.

IDK what to expect Saturday night but I'm sure it will be some good old fashioned redneck fun!

you're gonna have a blast!!! i'm sure it's gonna be like every other small dirt track in america that i've been to and thats the fans are half the entertainment!!! sometimes the weirdos there are even better entertainment than the cars!!! and i have a feeling texas is no different! haha

if it's anything like the tracks around here, i suggest getting the goggles for sure!!! dirt gets slung!

you get to see a lot of classes, thats awesome man!!! most places give ya two or three at most.
i hope the weather is nice and y'alll have a blast!!

Yeah the AI controller is prolly just xtra nonsense I don't need. I'd like to get into it's moisture reading more than anything but I do get the sense it's gonna be fitting square pegs into round holes and some things may just not jive. I just don't see how it can make triggers on environment control any better.
It's gotta be able to do something other controllers can't do so the only area I see it having purpose is dosing a water tank and moisture alerts in soil and even that can be done without AI so where does it fit?
TBH, It very well could be a newbie trap and gimmick. After all, AI everything is the new hype

$7/bag on that compost is a steal! I get it at $24/bag delivered and even then considering what it does as a tea is still a really great deal. I bet 1 bag can make upwards of 1000 gallons of tea and holy crap do plants respond to it. I have a side by side going with philodendron and the lobster compost tea plant is about 3x as big and way more lush.
My tomatoes are the best I've ever grown thanks to it.
BTW along with the cayenne, I'm using a product called Repel All in both spray and granular on the ground.
It's inside the little fence line which you cant see because the fence is well camo'ed. I have the fence just so my dogs wont step in the treated area. But yeah squirrels want nothing to do with my maters this year. I shoulda also done up my olive tree.
It may help you too, IDK. There's a lot of vermin on the label they say it works on and all I know it's an A+ on squirrels

Hey speaking of racing...Diecast Santa came by the house today with the best $13 I've ever spent on ebay!

haha your AI is gonna look at your weather report and say nah.. !! hahaha

okay, i'll never complain again about having to drive to Tilly's to get it. its pretty heavy to ship, i'll drive the 15-20 minutes, it's all back roads, no traffic lights or anything to get there. not bad.

There's a lot of vermin on the label they say it works on and all I know it's an A+ on squirrels

hell for that price i'll give it try for sure!!! i'll put that stuff to the test for sure... i got something worth saving this year,, both peaches and apricots coming in this year!!!
