Zen’s Spring 2026 Grow

Still messing with the vegetable garden.

Got more wood so I can finish the beds off today.IMG_0003.jpegIMG_0004.jpeg

After taking some bad advice something kept bugging me about the onions. I remember ripping them own before planting them. So I went back and ripped three or four open and stuck each sprout into water. I’ll be planting them again a little later. 79994969291__0E78F76C-A5D5-4FC9-882C-B0F73B890E93.jpeg79994583977__4DFB3B7F-1A0B-4696-B783-D9959DF1B1C0.jpegIMG_0015.jpeg

Wifey picked up corn and another tomato plant. IMG_0016.jpeg

One cucumber just couldn’t keep up.79994377871__9F8FAB51-C19D-4906-A1FA-BAFFD1FBFBB3.jpeg

These popped a few days before the VG seedling showed. Half I planted but I think I had too much H2O2 in the water and/or they got to near the hot water tanks exhaust. They had brown on the tap root. IMG_9985.jpeg

The rest is doing well and waiting in the grow room.

Now that it’s warm enough to use the VGs here I can try more veggies. @Bandit420 you ever try it on things like peppers or tomatoes? Not sure if a soft shell seed makes a difference.

Definitely. Only seeds I don't stick in it are the ones that don't fit because I haven't designed one for anything other than cannabis sized seeds but I have one sized for moonflowers on the 'puter I'll print sometime. Also banging around another designed for micro seeds like radishes and poppies.
Only plants I don't like to start in a VG are vines like melon and cukes. They fishbone early and are super grabby so they need to be pulled as soon as they pop and send the tail down

Might have over done it the last week. Backs really bad today. Took a few attempts to get up.

Every bit of used soil I had tucked away has been applied with cow compost added. If we can get temperatures to stay at least above 15* things will take off.

IMG_0040.jpeg

Everything is waiting to go outside. Some have been inside too long.
IMG_0043.jpeg

More onions.
IMG_0048.jpeg

Corn and tomatoes.
IMG_0047.jpeg

Testing tiny sunflowers in the VG. 50/50 as the shells get stuck. Maybe a few less paper towel sheets.IMG_0034.jpeg
IMG_0035.jpeg

So we have an okay start if we can get things outside by the 24th. We had frost warnings this morning for the entire north shore of Lake Ontario. 😳

The indoor plants are doing well.
IMG_0046.jpeg

Small section is still got burn issues.

IMG_0044.jpeg

Started week 5 so I’d like to remove more fan leaves for humidity and take the last dead end branches. The ones I had hope for that didn’t make it.

Your plants look great, a full tent for sure. You do still have a lot of leaves on but I like my leaves on too. As long as I can keep the humidity in control I let them stay on but I trim daily those that are covering buds sites or those leaves with long stems. As I reach into my plants if I see or feel a long stem those leaves go.

I'm at 7 weeks today in my 5x5 and 10 weeks today for the Strawberry Purps in my 3x3. It might be chop day, I look it when I get down there but I think 10 weeks I'm good. Shes not drinking much at all now, 3 gal has lasted 1 week, normally 3 gal lasted 3 days. A sign shes stopped growing.

We're at 9c and rain, no frost for a while but not very good for planting anything outside.

Still getting ready to plant vegetables at the end of May.

Drilled holes for the green house top and added bungee cords to help with high winds. IMG_0051.jpeg

Worms need more egg shell powder to eat with. IMG_0067.jpegIMG_0072.jpeg

Cleaning up the pool cues for the weekend. Neither has been cleaned in decades. IMG_0055.jpegIMG_0062.jpegIMG_0056.jpeg80036166788__D3AD84BE-B309-44BC-A07E-C63276D39633.jpeg

Took a lot of alcohol wipes but they work the best. But it seems we don’t have any wax. No Lemon Pledge either. 😱

Thanks but the GG#4 is still yellowing bottom up in the one tent with the Photontek light. It’s not as bad in the other tent. Both GG#4 have burned leaves. Sherbanger seems to like it as is. No real burn and green all the way in both tents.

Nice! Harvest time. Will the cure fridge arrive in time?

We're at 9c and rain, no frost for a while but not very good for planting anything outside.
It’s cold again today and raining since last night. Woke me at 4am. It’s almost 14* now at noon but still damp and cold. Rain stopped for now.

Waiting for you to post some pics. I hope the new toy arrives soon and it worked great. 🤞

I'm at 7 weeks in 5x5 so I'm hoping I'll have it before they are done. No word yet, I keep hoping for an email saying they are ready to be shipped. I saw a video with the CEO saying they had some initial problems with shipping and having doors with broken glass. They are addressing that with better shipping methods, more Foam inside and out to secure it better..

My 3x3 is done, 10 weeks yesterday but they don't look done at all. I need the space for my clones and sprouts. I have the lights and temp down to 60% and 74f RH has been pretty good for some reason its rarely been over 50%. where as the fkin 5x5 was at 72% this am.....at 7 weeks????...doors open full and they are not shutting until they are done. .

Sunny today, cool 13-14c ish but nice, cats want out on the line, they are pestering me and being bad, scratching the couch and poking my legs with sharp claws, tap tap, tap tap then run to the door...I get it.lol..It was a long winter for them Qnight in particular he likes his walks and outside time.

I'll get at posting some plant pics a bit later, I have a beauty batch with 4 plants over filling the 5x5 and a done girl in the 3x3.

I have an issue with 1 clone, not sure what but it may have to do with the heat mat under the plants drying out the roots too fast. I elevated them off the mat and gave them a good feed this AM. They'll be happy to get a transplant and move into the 3x3.

20260223: GG#4 & SB#22

Things are taking root, literally. They need trimming or LST as they are starting to stretch under the new light. Bumped the light from 4 to 6 as well. View attachment 125807

The GGB#4 & GM I left in red cups to give away needed to be transplanted. They are hungry and need more light.

First watering since the transplant so I’ll be looking for any issues or deficiencies this week. The soils still very loose and moves when watered. The wand was great for this, really wish it hadn’t died.
love the wozoo. great fans and those plants look awesome

Really hope it gets there in time in one piece. 🤞

The down side of cloning when you have tents in flower. You run out of space. My vegetables are ready to plant but it’s still to cold out. Tents are full and I’m fighting to stay below 50%RH at lights out. Rooms at approximately 35-40% but all these plants are going through a lot of water right now.

We started with rain and cold temps but it got up to 14* iirc. Sun for a few hours in the early afternoon. I need to start walking Willow more. Son does it most days but I like to get one in as well for exercise until the snow comes. Never did get a cat to walk with a leash but had a few follow us around as kids on their own.

I'll get at posting some plant pics a bit later, I have a beauty batch with 4 plants over filling the 5x5 and a done girl in the 3x3.
Nice. Looking forward to it. I’m concerned the humidity will give me bud rot. Had it once outside and once inside. That’s enough thank you very much.

I hope it’s an easy fix. As long as the roots are good and ready the transplant will fix them up.

My sons aren’t doing well. I think he over watered and they aren’t getting enough light. Plus I knocked over the GG4 clone in the dark. Now both cups roots are half brown but will finally need water again by tomorrow or the next day.

The fun never ends bud.

How did things go with the well cap and tree you needed down?

love the wozoo. great fans and those plants look awesome
I fix my clip fans but the soft oscillating gear is getting worse over time. I can’t print a new one unless I find the matching gear.

So I looked for new options. Grow fans are stupid expensive for what you get now and cheap ones from China are gone. So $39 dollar Costco Woohoo fans became an option. I tested the one I had and liked it so got a second. Only problem is you have to tape over the idiot lights as power interruptions will turn them back on. And loss of power does not come back on automatically. So far that’s only been a problem once.

They are pretty easy to clean as well which is nice.

The plants are doing okay now but I had an issue in late Veg that took a toll. Main reason they are so tall now. I just hope to avoid a BBQ later.

20260513: GG#4 JW & SB#22

The light issue seems to be better now that the final two have been raised in the 1x3.

I lowered the two 3x3 lights to 40000-43000LUX a while back but forgot to do the 1x3. It was still at 50000-55000LUX. That’s been corrected but a few more top leaves got burned. That pissed me off.

Trimmed most yellow leaves off the one GG#4 plant and then random fan leaves blocking light on different plants. Nothing heavy, just a few here there.

SB#22 & GG#4
IMG_0080.jpegIMG_0081.jpeg

The biggest producer is the Grease Monkey followed by the GGB#4, again. Sherbanger #22 grows a lot of little branches fast and has a lot of bud sites but wasn’t a huge producer but the buds were top shelf. Same with the GG#4 but a little less weight as it doesn’t get as many branches or bud sites. Same results last grow but this isn’t the end of week 5 yet.

It’s a little strange that only the GG#4 & GGB#4 really got burned. My fault for leaving them so close so long but the SB#22 & GM seemed to like it. 🤷‍♂️

Really hope my sons clones come back. I’m not doing anything more that reminding him of things. He wants weed he’s got to look after them. I may make my own cuts later if I think his are lost.

Have a good night peoples. 😴

Yeah I agree about the fans. My woozoo is outlasting my ac infinitys. The LED lights caught me off guard as well. Happens with my levoit humidifiers as well. Hah last week I reset the schedule and like a highball missed clicking Saturday. Never shut off 7pm and woke to 100% humidity. Straight gorillas in the mist type shit. Was 7 weeks in flower 🫣 but they brushed it off. Dang your ladies are tall. I can never get them to grow nearly that tall even if try.
This eve I chopped an am beginning Project X. I need to reveg this lady 🙏20260513_183140.jpg

i used to play a lot.. not as much any more. my buddy just got a table not to long ago so i've been picking it up again. he wants to refelt his. i told him i'd help. i bought that stick over 30 years ago, i do have a table but sadly its in storage rght now. we moved my mom in with us and she got that room!! it's a Gandy 1" italian slate.. really nice table.. in pieces..

Thats awesome and pool is a great game. I wonder what kind of cue it is you got from 30 years back. I was out today playing a teammate a few sets for $. I play league Monday nights at the same place since like 2017. We won bca nationals in silver division in 2018 and gold in 2021. Always great times but 2 years ago CSI sold out to Predator so now all the tables in vegas are Predators instead of Diamonds.
Wish all of us that like to shoot could meet up. We'd have a lot of fun for sure. What game so you guys play most?

oh wow you're like pro and shit!!! i ain't anywhere near that. i just don't play enough. for reason my first game is always my best of the night it seems. as i get comfortable i get worse i think!! haha

@doublej plays in a league, i haven't seen him a couple weeks, not sure where he's at!!!

my cue is a mcdermot?? if they're still a brand idk.. i remember when i bought it there was a video in the store that suckered me into buying it. it was pricey in the early 90's. i think i paid more for that than my first car back then.

we mostly play 8 or 9 ball. but if there's three of us at the time we like to play cut throat!! when i had my own table up i shot a lot of straight pool.

naw naw far from it. Just an amateur in one of the busier pool areas of the US. My fargo is just 553 and for example, a friend out here who is a Pro named Joven Bustamante is a 783 fargo. My brother is much better than I am and his is 630.
lol about your 1st game being your best. Must not be thinking too much at first and as night goes on you starting letting your mind creep in. There is a great book called The Inner Game of Tennis that speaks about how there are always 2 people that come out when there is something you play. Self 1 is the one who talks and your ear and self 2 is the one that doesn't need any coaching and actually is the doer. If Self 1 can be put to bed for a bit, Self 2 is allowed to play whatever it is at peak performance. The "zone"

Would love to know what model it is. If the butt and shaft are both straight I'd be interested in what you'd sell it for

Hell yeah. I have 4 quarters I wrote 8, 9, 10, and S on. On Wednesdays I play with a buddy and we pitch the quarters for which game we play first. We play 8 ball and 10 ball to 5, 9 ball to 7, and straight pool to 50 for $25 a set unless Straight pool we play for $50
Fun game, great friends, and some nice $ here and there is you play for it. If you ever out Southwest in Phoenix area hit me up, we will go play.

Never heard of them. As a kid the most I’d see was a cloth to wipe the cue with.

Some had a tool to shape the tip but most used a pocket knife.

I don’t have a pocket on my cases. I just carry chalk. I recently printed a small box to put my chalk in as I use the cue in the soft case.

A micro fiber cloth is all I use day to day. It’s a thick face cloth type. Gets out the dust and a bit of polishing.

I did find and use the Pledge on the top shafts. Old farts used it when I was a kid. On rifles too. It’s far from the best option but it works and is better than nothing. If we keep playing I’ll invest in better equipment.
IMG_0085.jpeg

I’m thinking about getting another cue. Maybe a Player. Dufferin is okay but the stores that specialize in Darts and Billiards have all gone out of business up here. No bowling alley’s left either. Last one got ripped down about 8 years ago. Townhouses now. With a dispensary on the main floor shopping centre. 🤣

I played from mid teens until late 20’s. Kids, wife and life ended up killing a lot of hobbies.

I won the first cue in a local tournament before 20. The second cue was a parting gift when I changed jobs in my 30’s. I used to play after work with the boss on occasion. Both are two pice Dufferin. Good solid maple wood. Nothing fancy that would get damage or peel off over time.

i bought that stick over 30 years ago, i do have a table but sadly its in storage rght now. we moved my mom in with us and she got that room!! it's a Gandy 1" italian slate.. really nice table.. in pieces..
Your stick is still considered mid to pro level. It’s in the category I’m looking at now. I might be able to get a new Players C-960 $270.
IMG_0099.jpeg

My concern is the last time I got into a hobby with my son he moved on. I got about $2k into it with him and now it’s over. I really liked archery but it’s boring alone. If he gets bored with billiards I wouldn’t play that alone either. No one I still see plays any more.

Depending what model you have it could be from $400-$5k for your stick.
IMG_0100.jpg

Aqua has one in the $1500-$2k range. Good brand that’s no longer made. His brother was a Canadian champ for years too. Sounds like he’s getting back into it after years as well.

So cool that yall shoot pool. Can help you obtain anything out there if ever need any helps. Lots of friends buy pool shit wholesale and resell. Speaking of pool cues, there is a crappy commercial brand called Sierra. There is also Sierra Custom Cues from long ago that is owned by a friend Eric. My brother works at his shop now but about 15-20 years ago he made this cue at Eric's shop. About 150 inlays and aome nice silver. Nice lookin cue and shoots great.

very cool man!!!

i for sure get in my own head after a game or two.. like i can do this better or do that better and end up just losing the pure fundamental of it. some night though ya know when you're feeling it and just can't miss a shot!!!
one time i dropped the 8 ball on the break that was my once in a lifetime lucky shot!!

i'm not sure what model my cue is, it is straight for sure. has a breaking shaft, one of those flexi ones!! i'd never sell it though man.. way to many memories!!!!! plus it has it's share of battle scars from over the years of being drunk. haha

so i'm not the best at finding things in the great north but i did see this one... should cost less than $5 if you ask me...

most places i saw sold them for 3 or 4 bucks.. there has to be better places than amazon.. i forgot to check ebay..

they make a big difference imo..

That’s cool and a nice looking cue. What weight you like? I’m comfortable with a 19oz. I’ll grab a nice 21oz off the rack t break with. (Breaking cues didn’t exist when I used to play, great idea for saving tips.)

Sounds like you’d be a great resource or guy to know for pool gear and information. But we’re up in Canada. I tried to send half dozen 3D printed figures, all would fit in your hand, and they wanted $50 to mail and then duties and tariffs. And that was the cheaper option using UPS!

All our stores for darts and billiards have dried up. The only thing to suffer more is bowling. It’s almost gone. They’ve ripped down the last two in the area for condos. One of my nephews got into it and even bought a ball. I prefer darts or pool.

One thing I was wondering about is the gloves. That’s new, to me at least. Is it a gimmick or does it help? I assume it’s the glide it helps with. Old places used to have a huge white cone chalk on the counter with a hole in the middle. You stuck your finger or thumb in the hole and rubbed it like you were going to cliff climb. If that wasn’t available you’d just use a chalk to rub on your webbing between fingers. So a glove might be a handy addition.

I’d like a new cue but I don’t really need one. The Dufferin is in good shape and still has its original tip. My older cue is only 17oz and I gave it to my son. It needs a new tip. No one does that anymore so I’ll have to do it myself. Covid and the stupidity after killed the small shops with old guys fixing stuff like this. Same with small engine repairs.

Your advice and opinions will be handy I’m sure. Stoney noted they have polishing cloths now to help with glide while playing. So I’m looking for that when we go out. My sons looking at $200-$400 cues now, as was I, Players and Dufferin and a few Action. He’s into purple while I’m either natural wood or something with green/black.

very cool man!!!

i for sure get in my own head after a game or two.. like i can do this better or do that better and end up just losing the pure fundamental of it. some night though ya know when you're feeling it and just can't miss a shot!!!
one time i dropped the 8 ball on the break that was my once in a lifetime lucky shot!!

i'm not sure what model my cue is, it is straight for sure. has a breaking shaft, one of those flexi ones!! i'd never sell it though man.. way to many memories!!!!! plus it has it's share of battle scars from over the years of being drunk. haha

so i'm not the best at finding things in the great north but i did see this one... should cost less than $5 if you ask me...

most places i saw sold them for 3 or 4 bucks.. there has to be better places than amazon.. i forgot to check ebay..

they make a big difference imo..
It’s been on the list since the last post. Lol

I need to find some decent tips. I have the gel gorilla glue I use for arrow tips. But no idea what’s a good tip. We use Dr.DaveBilliards videos once in a while, he’s got a good tip replacement vid.

Amazon I can get my son to order from. Just need to learn what’s good and what’s crap. EBay I won’t use. I got burned twice buying computer equipment on eBay. Took over a year to get my money back.

Victoria Day long weekend was early this year but the 30* weather and 75% humidity made it uncomfortable. Buddy came down and joined us for pool and beer. Then movies and weed before dinner.

I got a chance to mix up the last of the soil nutrients and started planting as the onions are starting to wilt. Unfortunately the unexpected heat wave made them droopy.

IMG_0125.jpegIMG_0127.jpeg

Red onions are in the corners to help keep things away. Cauliflower and sugar baby watermelon are the rest.

We have a major lightning storm coming so I’m waiting for that to come and go before I continue planting.

Tents are filling up. Humidity is still a daily fight. Never gets lower than 45% even with the room closed and the dehumidifier on 24/7. I dump it twice a day still.

One hour after lights out and the temperature is way to hight.IMG_0128.jpeg

I’ll do pics later. Not much has changed other than leaves not liking the heat/humidity and buds getting bigger.

I had 84% in my tent this am with 8 week into flower plants not ideal. As is its at 60% doors wide open humidifier on full and at my desk its 48%, just a few feet away. I may have to fire up another dehue but I have plants drying and I don't want it too low to fk them up. My 5x5 needs low RH and my 3x3 need high RH its not easy to keep every body happy.

I hear ya. I was just thinking how I can manage 45-50% since the temps were in the low 20’s with the dehumidifier on at lights out. Then the heat wave and more rain. It was 29* at lights out today. A/C is still packed away in the garage. I’m using the doors like air locks to swap cold air for hot but gain more humidity. A clumsy dance.

One more sleep until you get your new toy. Can’t wait to hear about it. 👂

It’s hot and humid and all things considered I’m happy it’s doing as well as it is. Think we’re in the middle of week 6 now? I’ll have to check that later.

Lights have been at 50% since burning became a possibility. They never got higher than 60%.

@Shaded , @Stoneyluv eithervof you replace your own cue tip?

I gave my son the older cue I won years ago and kept the one I was gifted. Only problem is it needs a new tip.

Any suggestions on what to get? I’ve been searching google and the local area for any billiards stores that might remain but they are all gone. Closest is an hour away so Amazon.ca is looking to be the best option.

Any suggestions or tips/advice? I don’t remember ever changing one myself but I do remember cheap stick on one’s sucked. I have good gel glue and a trusted video to use. (Dr.DaveBilliards)

TIA

Based on your feedback @Stoneyluv we ordered these two sets.

Scott Edward 4pcs Pool Cue Cleaner Slicker Towel Burnisher Shaft Cloth Set

IMG_0173.jpg

The link you left was $10 and had $5 shipping. It was an international item.

I’m trying to find more info on the ones ordered as these have inserts inside and I’m not sure that’s what you use. IMG_0174.jpegIMG_0175.jpeg

We also ordered a four pack of the nylon gloves. Two with finger tips and two without. My son and his buddies were using my chalk on the fingers trick but he thinks this will be better. IDK as I’m used to wearing gloves but not for pool. IMG_0135.jpg
If they help at all he/we can always get a better pair. I have longer fingers and most gloves are too short in the fingers. So we’ll see how it goes.

Just need a new tip for his and we should be set. New cues can wait a bit. I’m in no hurry but he’s got the bug.

it's been many years Zen, but i have glued quite a few. for the life of me i can't remember what kind of tip or where i got them. think i went with a salesman's suggestion at the time on brand and type.

i did it just like in that video, it wasn't difficult at all just a little tedious and time consuming, it's not something you rush through... take your time!! but it is really nice having a fresh tip and getting to shape it the way you want!!!

i used one of these jigs with the rubber band on it.. bet you could find a free model and print one!!!

cool man thats the real deal slicker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you'll have to use it a couple times to get the stick conditioned but once you have it smooth it only takes a stroke or two with the slicker before game to make it feel like glass!! a little chalk on your hand and it will most likely improve your game some!!!

some people may make fun.. like using a sissy stick or something.. "like ah how cute"... thats when ya blow through the slicker and blow all the sawdust al over their shirt!!!! hahahaha

wow your weapon makes me wish I had never let any of mine go from long ago. That cue is the McDrmott model M2WP also know as the "Panther". Wild fact but my brother and I and his 2 kids all have Black Panther tattoos on top of our right foot.

Your cue came out in the late 90s and Blue Book of pool cues indicates in good condition it is still worth near what it was new back then. That's pretty cool and I am very happy you don't want to part with it. Yes the memories are worth it all. The blood of enemies runs deep lol

That’s cool and a nice looking cue. What weight you like? I’m comfortable with a 19oz. I’ll grab a nice 21oz off the rack t break with. (Breaking cues didn’t exist when I used to play, great idea for saving tips.)

Yo Zen thanks much. Those square inlays are silver. That is a 1 of 1 Sierra that likely when brand new could fetch a pretty penny upwards of $2500ish. Luckily he didn't pay a dime other than his time.

As for weight, I'm not exactly sure what my Predator playing cue is but I'd reckon it is in the 19oz range. I change shafts every once in a while due to my brother making one and saying "here just try this a few shots" and then I abandon prior shaft. I bring this up because shafts account for a bit of wiggle room in weight due to tapper.

Breaking cues however can be a bit misleading. We've kinda been sold on that you need a heavier cue to break with. Turns out that isn't so true and I'd bet 90%+ of all pro players use break cues in the 16-19oz range. I believe the mechanics behind it has to do with the power that comes from the faster strokes with lighter cues. Many new cues have carbon fiber shafts like the Predator BK Rush. Those frikkin monsters are very light and break with the power of what feels like a 30oz cue. Only problem is new they are like 600-800ish and hold their value like whoa
Sounds like you’d be a great resource or guy to know for pool gear and information. But we’re up in Canada. I tried to send half dozen 3D printed figures, all would fit in your hand, and they wanted $50 to mail and then duties and tariffs. And that was the cheaper option using UPS!
Pandora Box I'd say and I'm confident that I can be of help. One of my best friends Chris has some sort of wholesale license for all things pool and likely darts and the like. Couple that with that I've been shipping with UPS down here in the states for like 15 years for my work and have shipped up north many times. Yeah the tariffs and BS customs/duties racket sucks but when we use our UPS account AND control the S&H of it, there can be little to no suprises. Due to stupid cost increases, the plan would be to consider buying what you want and have shipped to my office in Chicago(I live in AZ) and then when everything is there we send it up together
All our stores for darts and billiards have dried up. The only thing to suffer more is bowling. It’s almost gone. They’ve ripped down the last two in the area for condos. One of my nephews got into it and even bought a ball. I prefer darts or pool.
This is sad to hear man. Yall gotta find a way to keep pool alive and I'm here to help. There are no coincidences.

Great question and simple answer is yeah they work bigtime. I'd guess that 90%+ of all professional pool players in the world wear them and it isn't just because of sponsorships. Since so many pros use carbon fiber shafts, you kind of have to wear a glove. They have a diffent feel then wood shafts. It is almost like if you took your wood shaft and made it "matte/dull" finish so wasn't so smooth. Thats what carbon fiber shafts are like and gloves are a must

Hah yeah I for sure remember those chalk things and may have had one in our basement in the late 80s. Eventually they pretty much all have been removed because they would just leave chalk dust on the table that was tough to get out

Wish I had a solid cue to send ya. I have a Tim Scruggs sneaky pete butt that is slightly warped. The shaft it came with isn't a TS shaft and is bent. If both were straight it would be $1000+ easily but was given to me so eh wth. I have a "Varney" jump break cue that seems more like a playing cue but it is like from 2004, I won it in a online raffle, and it sucks. What doesn't suck is the shaft it oddly had on it. It is an old Ob1 Classic like HERE and you they don't make them anymore. It is likely still worth $150 but is only as good as the way it connects to the butt. My cue looks like HERE but I have a Kielwood shaft on it that my brother made.

ehhh yall might not like what have to say here lol So I too used to use that thing you insert your cue into. I literally used it for decades but it was because I didn't know. The reason they seem to work is because you are literally reducing your taper my removing a small bit of wood. The grit inside that puppy is quite low. Over time you'd eventually need new shaft because it got too thin. I used to use it like crazy and then literally blow into it and a poof would come out. Not knowing that was another small layer of my shaft lol
Best advice would be to use like 4000 or 2000 grit sandpaper and it will be super smooth. Then dont' touch it or put anything on it and just start wearing a glove.

I called my boy Chris and asked him where to send yall to look for whatever you need. He said anywhere on the internet lol So I would check Omega and Seyberts first or any site you know of that has pool and dart gear.

As for tips, what matters 1st is if like Soft, Medium, or Hard. Personally I always just go in the middle with Medium. This HERE is what I am using right now. You just want to avoid any off brand names and stick with top named ones

Let me know what yall need and how I can help. You might enjoy following "Donkey Pool Productions LLC" on FB. Evry Friday Night there are "Friday Night Fights" where 2 people play for 1, 2, 4K in the middle and it is streamed. HERE is alink to it
