Zen’s Spring 2026 Grow

I like it hot, I vacation where its hot, I dream of hot days through the winter but man as we get older it takes a toll on me. We're supposed to get up to 36C tomorrow..lol....with possible thunder showers. We've been in the Maritimes 30 years today. July 1st1996 was the 1st time I'd been to Nova Scotia, I never thought we'd be here so long, What the fk happened to all that time?

I've been lazy, plants are still in 1 gal pots I soaked some clay balls yesterday in a 3/3/3/3 ml/gal nutrients. I read somewhere they'll absorb some of it for slow release??? we'll see. I ran out of perlite and its a 2 hr round trip to get more so today I'll use some of the clay balls I'm soaking in place of perlite to give me some aeration.

I don't know what I've done to my clone but shes looking sick with yellowing leaves and in desperate need of transplanting....today. The rest of my LLL are doing well and could be flipped at any time if I could get my shit together, transplant and get my Autopoots cleaned up........ Today I say........ya....well if I can get my ass moving and get some shit done.
The heats not helping but the humidity just saps my will to do anything.

Just watering the tents takes maximum effort.

Ready or not they get chopped this weekend.

Family is in Quebec City until 11am. Then off to my daughters. I’m looking after Willow and the plants.

Day before the heatwave.

I know the cats don’t care about the heat. Even the black ones will lay in the sun during a heatwave. 😳

No not really, my boys at least stay in the shade when its hot, Qnight in the winter likes the hot sun beams but when its hot even he stays in the shade, they get very active at night though. Last night there was a race track in here, after we went to bed they were ripping around over the bed, off the bedside tables and ripping the carpets as they tore around the house. I could hear their gate flap to the outdoors opening and closing as they ripped through it. The boys are in a good mood now with warm sunny days, winters are hard on them....and me.....

I opened up one of my bags to smoke some and as I opened it up it smells like Pineapples. Its the indica version of the Bubba Mac n Cheese I grew. one smells like pineapples the other a Sativa looking girl doesn't have a lot of smell so far but I haven't bagged it up yet she's still in my Vcure in cure mode. Smoke smooth but I can't recognize a smell to it yet. Maybe after it gets bagged up.

I’ve had two black cats. One Persian and one short hair. Both loved to sun bath even in the heat. Their fur would be so hot you wouldn’t want to pat them. Guess it’s the cat and not the color.

Cool. My grow room keeps changing aromatics. One day the GG is all I can smell, few days later it’s the Sherbanger. Yesterday it was the GGB, very berry smelling again. I think it’s telling me their done and ready. Chop chop this weekend. 🌳🪓

This will be the last pics before chop. Their aromas had faded for a while but it’s back strong now. Each tent section seeming smeller than the last.

I’m over this grow. Ever since the weather turned it’s been a daily fight with humidity and heat.

I’m going to have to wet trim most of the leaves when I first hang them. I don’t need mold or rot at the first bush line. 🤞

Garden is coming along. It’s about two weeks behind where it should be. We’ve had only a light sprinkling of rain this week and high winds. A three gallon soft pot dried out three times in one day.

Cayenne pepper plant is taking off.

Watermelons are finally flowering.

As are the tomatoes.
IMG_1071.jpeg

Cucumbers are showing promise.
IMG_1070.jpeg

Wifey wants a garden salad when she gets home. I hope that means she has time to stop at the grocery store first.IMG_1072.jpeg

Watermelon and two bell peppers. Waiting for the heatwave to end before I plant. They are ready.
IMG_1073.jpeg

Sons plants for the next grow.IMG_1074.jpeg

If the worst is behind us it should be a good year for the garden. 🤞

Nice heavy haul you have there. The extra week added more weight it looks like, they are about as plump as they are going to get me thinks before they buckle the stalk. You have some work to do trimming it all up..

My basement is still pretty cool, I have the heater on in the 5x5 for my next crop. Its 36C outside but only 18C in the basement here at my desk. I have my dehue set at 65% and its running steady. Looks like summer is here.....not sure where Spring went, I guess it was all that gloomy weather we had from the last time it snowed til now.

Only a few colas are standing on their own. Most are leaning into each other.

Both GG#4 and SB#22 aren’t huge producers but the SB#22 likes to bush out which helps for final weight.

Both are extremely sticky with SB#22 having more frost and stronger aroma.

Even with the AC in the basement it’s gotten as high as 25* over all and 31* in the tents at lights on.

It’s lights out now and this is the grow room vs rec room at 10am, With the adjoining door open.IMG_1114.jpeg

Drying starts tonight with two plants, Grease Monkey and GGB#4. 🤞

I'm deep underground, 8ft high cement walls surrounded by dirt, it never warmed up in here yesterday at 35c outside its still 66f @ 65% at my desk. Yesterday my gadget was showing 18C today its 66f...lol I know not how it changed or how to change it back... My 3 gal dehue jug overfilled and I had a puddle this am. set at 65% . It gets a moldy smell fast in here without dehue running full time.

this is also my situation, my open grow doors warm it up a bit and my dehuey adds heat as well but still stays under 70f.. the shape of mine is tough to deal with but i just use old clip fans to help move the air around. one blessing i have is a french drain in the floor so my dehuey drips in there.

My dehumidifier has a pump I leave on. The dehumidifier only holds about 1.5 gallons. I made a 5 galling reservoir by drilling a hole in the lid of my old watering jug and sticking the hose through it. It was getting half full twice a day for the last three days. 😳

It’s empty this morning. 🥳

My basement is a walk out on the south side. So the sun can heat things up quite a bit. Nice in winter, not so much during a heat wave.

I have an exposed floor drain I can use in an emergency but it’s not in the same room. There should be one more but it’s covered by a wall or carpet by the previous owners.

Emptying the hot water tank for replacement I used the drain. Like a French drain but should attach to the sewer/waste water pipe.

Okay, a couple more shots…

Sherbanger #22

The buds are dense and tightly packed. Really happy with the end results so far. This is only half the plant that got to heavy and leaned to the right.

GGB#4, Grease Monkey, Sherbanger #22, and GG#4. The three on the left are wet trimmed, the right one is only 1/3 done.
IMG_1160.jpeg

Two big ones are left to chop. Another GG#4 and the last Sherbanger #22.
IMG_1164.jpeg

Trying to clean as I go but it’s going to take a week or two before it’s 100% clean and sterile.
IMG_1165.jpeg

Someone hopped the fence and knocked things over on the weekend. My guess is they smelled the AC exhaust, which now surrounds the house, and thought they’d find a plant ready to pluck. No damage just things moved and pushed out of place where they climbed over.

I’ve got to move the first two plants to another location to finish drying, need the shower for the last two plants.

All the GG#4 plants look like shit but the buds look great and have swollen nicely. Not as well as the Sherbanger but pretty dam nice.

Considering the GGB#4 and the GM grew in a 1x3 without active ventilation or proper lighting I’m impressed. I bet each is in the 4oz zone for final weight.

Argh, back to it guess. Getting used to sticky fingers. 🤣

Outside temp and basement at 10am.

I don't envy you having to trim that all up. After my last harvest I'm glad I'm done with that for a while. I still have to bag up the last plant. Its sitting in my new machine on cold cure/ store as it finished a 14 day dry/cure program. It looks like you have a good supply for a while with that haul. Do you have more seeds on the go yet?
