Now the one that was behind is coming around that second to last lap like she was burning rubber and just made traction, passing everyone

*The one on the left was very behind the other one, and now has stretched up crazy late and started getting busy like she was pacing herself

I didn't let the seal "cure" for 4 hours because i never heard of this and i started it right away and it failed instantly.

Edit, this is after i learned it has to be installed dry, because i never heard of that either, so the third time. Fucking fast at it now lol

So now have to do it yet again, going to fucking let it sit 12 hours just to make sure.
 
Blueberry diesel, 5/6 weeks
Full speed ahead, i swear i never got this frost before the dedicated UVA. Adjusted IR schedule plants love the extra exposure.

The left (one that stalled and is roughly 1-2 weeks behind the right, maybe at it's week 3/4)

did you try that crank seal again? i never heard of that rule before but also never worked with a teflon one.. i asked a buddy of mine but he never got back to me yet..

Not yet, been too busy. I think pcv is also clogged that pressure helped push more oil out or damaged the seal...
Of course pcv valve is integrated in valve cover, so i got a new one to put on.
Got new crank seal, and going to check for any scoring this time on the journal. I got some ideas if it is, i got a redisleeve, and if it fails again I'll try some permatex ultra black on the outer side of seal (ai idea) and then burn the car down.

Anyone ever have a pole tent fan last more than 2 years? Seems whatever brand i buy they crap out right at the two year mark, just had another one fail this week
 
Never had one last that long.I’ve even had them sparking with flames and smoke coming off them nearly causing a fire.mine don’t last simply because the oscillation is the first thing that fucks up then breaking the cable.

Yeah the oscillation stopped at year one then another year later motor.
And this one was only on at lights on
 
I usually just get the cheap ones off eBay like 3 for 40 bucks seem to last same time as the dearer brands .i have an 6’ vivosun in flower room now and it even mentions the fan will last longer if you don’t use the oscillation.i don’t know why they don’t make them better but I spose it’s all about the money..they want you coming in to get another.i reckon I’ll get an 9’steel one nxt..

I have two cheap ones from China. The oscillating gets screwed from the sides trapping them. I made spreaders so the fan wouldn’t get trapped and disassembled the fans to fix the oscillating. Haven’t used them this year but they are 4-5 years old now. They are backup fans now.

Never even seen them there, i love Costco lol.

How did you fix the oscillating part? I thought about rebuilding them, or somehow protecting new ones from internal moisture,idk if that's what kills them or what

I found an open box fan on Amazon for half off vivosun 6" Gen 2 to replace the old one.

I bought two pole mounted ones and two desktop models. Pole mounted are for the rooms. Desktop are in the tents.

It’s usually the gear that oscillates that gets damaged. Starts to wear the teeth down. On these fans the gear is a softer plastic. I use tools like needle nose pliers and thin knives with heat to reshape the damaged teeth.

I can’t design my own gears yet but if I ever find the right one online I’ll print four gears as backups.

I also open and clean them once a year. The fan and enclosure I clean between grows.

It’s just two screws to open and remove the back casing. One in the oscillator pull switch and one in the middle of the casing.

New crankshaft seal, new harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley), new valve cover to replace pcv valve, and i think I'm good! Reset vanos adaptations and misfire is gone also!!

Omg... I'm still trying to believe it. I think the car is fixed....
You can see the seal in picture, car running, completely dry, nothing leaking.
Ran for 15 minutes, no drip. Drove then parked overnight and only 2 small drops of oil from 20 year old car over night is ok with me

These days I have no idea. It’s quality vs price vs warranty and that’s if it’s a name brand.

The one that I had that died was almost as old as I am. Motor failed this winter/spring.

The new one is a refurb for a little over half price. So far I’d buy it again but I expect appliances to last 5-10 years depending on use and care. I highly doubt this one will go past 10, I hope it goes past 5.

Mine has a lot of features including wifi and an app I’ll never DL. Goes through the vendor, it’s not direct.

I do like the thee options for draining and the built in pump. It also has a warning light when the filter needs to be cleaned.

It’s at least a 6-7 out of 10. We’ll see after 5 years.

Exactly. My last one didn't make it even 4 years.

I know this pint count is low, but i love the build quality and that's some serious wattage.

If you like it and trust it then you already made your choice. Just find it as cheap as you can where returns can be made over the first 30 days or more.

Amazon is iffy. After talking with reps it seems if something happens after 30 days your better off ordering a new one and sending the old one back than dealing with a warranty replacement. Not how I like to do business but it beats eating the cost of a failed product. Dealing with the vendor directly hasn’t been the best option in our experience.

I'm not locked in yet, this one is twice the price vs standard home models.
Just figure maybe the commercial is made to handle more on time

Yeah i need something powerful, small grow room so humidity is high. Old one ran all day, it filled the bucket twice a day to keep
