Ive had the same troubles but the last one I got is an ac infinity new gen s9 one and it seems built for the job way more solid than the shitty spiderfarmer that didn’t even last 1 grow

Yeah it's crazy... The one that crapped was a spider farmer that looked better built than the cheap no name fans i used to order, but lasted less. Still using the free spider farmer light i got for free from sponsor event from old site.

This new one is a vivosun, not expecting much.

If they are in a tent corner make sure the sides don’t stop the oscillating. I use a spreader, one above and one below, when I use these fans now.

I got an open box one and the oscillation is already broken lol, so I'm good there

Contact them, get a return shipping label. Tell them to send a new one while you use the damaged one.

It won’t go to a land fill normally. It will be fixed or sold with other stuff on a skid at discount most likely.

The spreaders I print are too big to ship to you but they can be made DIY. I’ve seen aluminum ones made from door trim. A coat hanger set. Stuff that has strength enough to push back when forced closed in the corner.

This is how my printed ones look that snap onto the back of the corner poles.

I’ve been looking for a DIY wooden one I was going to make before my son got the printer. No luck finding it yet. If I do I’ll post it. They make a huge difference when humidity is high and the sides suck in at lights out. (We leave the doors open at lights on 90% of the time.)

IIRC it used two paint sticks as the flex arms and metal two hole pipe clips to hold them. Simple and easy. They make bigger, stronger, stir sticks for the 5 gallon buckets. You can usually get them free from hardware stores.

A few easy DIY versions:

• PVC elbow spacer: short pieces of PVC into a 90° elbow, then zip-tie or bolt it to the frame. Cheap and easy to tune.
• Wood triangle spacer: a small triangular block or two slats in an L shape. Stronger than stir sticks.
• Flat bar + angle bracket: aluminum flat bar with a small L-bracket at the end; very slim if space is tight.
• Hose clamp + spacer block: clamp a wood/rubber block to the pole to act as a stop.
• Bungee limiter: a short bungee or paracord between two frame points to stop the wall from coming in too far.
• 3D-printed spacer: if you have access to a printer, print a clip-on stop with a padded contact face.

Best simple option besides your stir-stick idea: PVC or wood L-bracket with foam padding. It’s rigid, cheap, and easy to adjust.
