has anyone ever used a cheap washing machine like in the link instead of buying a bubble bag dude machine

Yup, we did. That same machine as a matter of a fact. The one thing I will say about it is it did too good of a job. Not only knocking off trichs, but too much chlorophyll from the leaves. We were using this and ice.
Made it a dark green color and even after curing for months it was harsh harsh.

Well never having tried it, I can’t comment on it. But we now know that the washing machine was a good theory and it did work but the product was seriously lacking. We tried cutting the agitation period down, all kinds of things.
Im about to the point with it that the next I do will be screen rubbed.

i been using a 5 gallon bucket and a wooden spoon but now i have heart faliure with a 25 refraction and run out of breath folding cloths lol and im not sitting there stirring shit anymore lol

you guys sound like connoisseur's and im just a dumb stoner u think it would make much difference to me ?

Sorry to hear that! I have heart probs too. I find it tires me a lot quicker.

I’m from the old days of blond Lebanese it was light and floral tasting. This stuff was dark green and so harsh, just was no joy in it for me.
Never refer to yourself as a dumb stoner! Why? I know a dumbass when I see one, and you just don’t fit that mold!
 
those machines look to be the same, the only difference if there is one i would think would be the rpm of the spin and maybe better parts lol i just wonder if saying 30 or 40 dollars would be worth it on this purchase it

It clips onto the side of a large bucket for ice hash. Larger than a 5 gallon. With a 5 gallon, it will break up too much leaf matter, like @CannaGranny 's experience with the washing machine. It might work well with a larger container, but I can't say I've tried.

thanks but i will pass i have thought about using an electric ice cream maker but for some reason i want a lil washing machine lol

You can use a Paint mixer on the end of a drill. Make sure the bud is in a wash bag else you end up with a lot of plant matter. Then filter through a set of 4 or 5 bubble hash bags.

The washers from bubble magic and the like are just rv or portable washers. It’s the vortex effect of the water action that removes trichome heads. Also using crushed ice works best. Cubes beat the buds up too much from my experience. I use a washer to make bubble.

i did put my wooden spoon in a drill 1 time and decide i would not do that again lol
 
I was watching a little video yesterday actually on this. Old hash smuggler 75 years old. He is saying he's found bubble hash to be a waste because he claims you lose about 30% of oils. I've never made it so I don't know but his claim is there ends up being a layer of oil on the top of the water that gets excluded from the final product that is sort of important. Basically he said it's like harvesting the trich heads but all the oil comes out of the inside (or most). I found it interesting as I've always found bubble hash to be lacking something. Maybe he is onto it. He also said the absolute best way is still the old Lebanese sift method.

Like a mini trolling motor? You a bass fisherman? 🤣

Think I recall you saying it has a high rpm? Maybe someone else talking about their experience. Same type of rig I think.
 
well i went ahead and purchased the washing machine and zipper bag ,i have made the bubble a few times and even using my hands i was probably doing it wrong

It was sort of like putting a 9 HP Evinrude into a 5 gallon bucket, now that you mention it.
 
so i got my cheap 85 dollar pyle washing machine today , i have seen on you tube about switching out the hose for a none ribbed one has anyone heard or done that is it necessary
 
alright, stay with me here..

there was a time on the farm that Seamaiden was in another thread, might've been Tnelz thread for whatever, doesn't matter. anyways, they were talking about processing flower for bubble or dry sift or what-have-you. So she posted some pics of her setup. Was basically a disassembled washing machine -- all the casing off, plumbing and pumps ripped out, nothing but the cylinder with the motor spinning the shit. underneath was a fine mesh screen, under that was a pan.

sometimes she'd throw dry ice in with the flower, but most of the time she'd just run roughly trimmed flower to process ("keif" it) before sending the flower off to customers and collecting the goodies for hash making.

obviously not the same as bubble. nothing quite compares to quality bubble, which let's be real, GOOD bubble takes a high level of experience to produce. It's not a matter of fast, but of attentiveness, and if one wants it fast, it won't be good. the triad of fast-cheap-quality applies with bubble. pick two, though fast and quality don't work here.

You’ll do fine with that washer. The corrugated hose is not a problem. I left mine corrugated. Just rinse good when done. When you start washing be sure to let those buds soak in the washer until they are fully hydrated and then start at like 3 minutes for first wash, second at five, and so on. You’ll get about 4 or 5 washes in before you really start seeing plant matter come through with the resin heads unless it was really dry bud. Search YouTube for Frenchy Cannoli vids on how to use a washer. He was the man.
 
if i follow the vids on you tube where folks cut the rim out of a 5 gallon bucket and placed it inside another 5 gallon bucket
would i be ok if i washed some old 5 gallon buckets i have had around the house instead of buying more new ones ? like buckets i have used to move dirt throw some rocks in it pieces of metal basically buckets that just had shit like that in it
