Hi everybody and thank you to the people who are making this place happen.

It seems like half of what I know about growing is what I learned from searching for Aqua Man's posts on the "old farm". I very happy that this new place exists.

I've mostly lurked and learned from a distance.

I've done some soil, DWC & RDWC grows. I recently started a grow from seed trying to compare soil with coco. I went through the 150+ pages of Aqua Man's coco grow diary. Today I started building the roofing tile setup. Once again, brilliant solution. Can't wait to see how it goes.

I use the growing and consumption of cannabis to help with my CPTSD which has been kicking my ass the last few years. If anybody has experience with strains that help with (C)PTSD I'd love to hear about it. I guess I'm oversharing. Hello Internet :)

Welcome My Brother! Post or not, you, like all, are welcome here.

Post up your grows. You know we're all pic whores around here.

Curious what strains you've found so far that have helped. I know in your post that you posted if anyone knew of some good PTSD strains but I'm curious what you have found up until now that has worked for you. When I was in Cali I had a non profit that I used to help homeless vets.

Thanks SweatLeaf.

I had been wondering what mystery Moe and Aqua Man have been working on. Now I finally know :D

My world is a little happier know this place exists.

Thanks Rootsruler (@mentioning is not a thing here?). I find that cannabis gives me some agency over my state. It also helps me feel the body more. Aside from exercise and sauna, cannabis is the only method I've found to do any symptom management. It doesn't address the underlying cause but it's better than nothing...

So Seb, about PTSD strains, what you want to look for is the Terpenes. The following terps are good for PTSD.

Myrcene
Limonene
Linalool
Caryophyllene
Pinene
Humulene

If you are growing, see if you can find COA's on the strains and identify their dominant terpene profile, usually the top 3 percentages of the measurable terps in a sample. Terps as well as thc percentages are grower specific but I have found that a dominant terp profile will still show up, but at varying levels depending on how the particular grow went. Some breeders list their dominant terp profiles, look for those.

Also, it's unlikely you will find a strain with all of the above in satisfactory numbers so you also look at growing multiple strains, if possible, with different terp profiles that compliment each other. This is called the entourage effect and is powerful medicinally.

Welcome @Seb

FWIW, I didn't really dig in and learn until I started posting stuff, good and bad. Getting challenged by better growers is part of the learning process.

I like the concept of side by sides too.

For the PTSD, you could do worse than looking into fungi. There is a show on Amazon called how to change your mind if you need a starting point.

Not sure the exact strains you'd want but maybe finding the properties in the bud that do it for you, then looking for a concentrated version would be the way to go? Just a thought

For me, all weed helps me deal with my ADHD (that's what they call it 😆) it also helps with anxiety, depression, sleepless nights, appetite stimulator. Just a host of things that pretty much any cannabis can help, sativa or indica or autoflower....haven't smoked much cbd to tell if that would help me personally. Others though find results with specific strains, as your issues are probably more serious than mine, you may find that and I'd assume as a smoker you probably have a general idea of what it is that works strain wise for you.

Thank you! I’ll save this to my notes. I did some research looking at strains that are supposed to help with ptsd and got some different seeds. I’m aware of terpenes but didn’t really know which ones to look for. I will next time.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I guess I’ll start a grow diary. Then you’ll see what I’m up to 😎

I would echo moe’s comment above about fungi. Several very prestigious universities have done double blind studies using psilocybin. It’s very effective but care is needed. Set and setting are everything in a psychedelic journey.

What Tommie and Moe R. are saying about magic mushrooms is true along with guided meditation....So the 'entourage' effect can include multiple ways (weed/shrooms/Native American sweat lodge/therapy)to skin the cat. There are also people on this site who are loving and kind to others who are just plain fun to be around which injects joy and spontaneous giggles from the crowd. We all bid you welcome to our garden world where there are no pests and every plant gets a hand.

So I was looking over the lab report from a strain I just harvested and thought it might be worth mentioning here Seb. I am not sure if these are still available or not but this might be a good strain for you to try. It's called Tropic of Censer by Brother Mendel.

It's a finicky strain to grow but this strain really packed a terpene punch. I hit almost 5% on the terps with this one and they are a who's who of anti PTSD terpenes. Below are my test results.

This was one my wife grew and there is a short journal of this grow if interested.

Second the Indian sweat lodge to you Seb, it is super medicine. I lived with a Lakota Sioux woman and we set up (and did) lodges for people in Santa Cruz, CA. Saw some incredible things and despite all the work always enjoyed the day. If I had found a job there might still be in the lodge....but the great spirit needed me here. Welcome to MudGuilders.

I've used psilocybin mushrooms. They worked like a miracle the first time I tried them. Unfortunately the effect faded and I've been unable to recreate that experience despite being mindful of set, setting etc. Research on MDMA looks promising but that's more difficult to get hold of.

I'll try to find some Tropic of Censer...

Thanks everybody!

(I stopped getting notifications. Not sure if that's a bug. I don't remember changing settings...)

@Seb Im not sure why your notifications has stopped? Can you double check that its still tagged for you to get the notifications and if everything looks good on your end then you should tag either @ Moe.Red or @ SweetLeafGrow and they will investigate

This guy has a handle on pheno-hunting for terpines & effects, I'd only add the "Patient" will be the "one" to find whatever effect desired as this plant can effect our endocannaboid systems differently on a personal level. Cheers and nice response,SSgrower
