Blast tube recommendations?

Looking at getting a blast tube to make some bho, we used to use home made pvc ones but I'm seeing they sell stainless now

Couple questions

Do they come with a push rod usually or are they ported for vacuum pumps to be connected?

Also, anyone got any experience here and directions they can point me in as far as brand and certain features that are nice to have for these set ups? Places to shop?

The stuff always looked like solid black hash, it was never oily always rock hard and crumbly. It smoked great but tasted like shit.
Im sure it had to do with the product he put in was trashy

Some run it more than once stuff gets green and black looking usually when that happens, could have purged it too hot I suppose as well..hard to say. Did they decarb/dewax etc. Some people put it less effort

I'm asceerd of butane. I know someone personally that set their garage on fire.

PLEASE be careful!

That said, as far as solvents go it is the second best for cannabinoids. ETOH isn't nearly as good, but much safer.

That would suck ass...yea I've always purged outside got a covered porch that gets a good breeze....shit is scary for sure high risk

Kinda just what I have known, rosin is out of my reach at moment. Would definitely be keen to find a safer method that ended up producing a likeable product for me...so far in all I've tried it's given me the best results....been a long time since I did it and haven't done it more than a handful of times so maybe I should just consider it a ship tha has sailed. Hmmm

It requires very high pressures. So it needs a proper setup. Will likely void your home insurance and the fire marshal will bitch slap you if you do it in a residence.

You mean like a press? Solventless extraction? We should talk offline, when you come for your light I have a bottle jack press at the shop you can have and modify to press flower if you want. It just needs plates. @Moshmen did something really similar.

But in terms of efficiency - butane and hexane are the best. Propane is right there too

I have a fairly baddass closed column extraction system I've been considering selling.
$50 + shipping would be my asking price since it's 100% stainless steel and on the higher end of personal use extractors. It's in a storage box right now but it's this one.

It was my go-to before I got into rosin.
Closed column is fairly safe just don't be an idiot about messing with an explosive gas and take every reasonable precaution before and during the extraction.
It worked great last time I loaded it.
Basically just load the column with frozen weed and make sure the bottom valve is closed.
Next, open up the top valve and get a 420ml can of N-Butane with the proper tip and empty the can into the column. As it fills, the pressure gauge will load up to the same PSI that was in the can.
Before pulling the can off, make sure to close the top valve.
The column is now loaded, under pressure, and very dangerous.
Position the column over a pyrex pie dish and slowly open the bottom valve. You'll see the good stuff start to flow. Open it a little more so it blasts out but doesn't splatter.
Then sit the dish on the heat pad and wait for the butane to evaporate then purge under heat and vacuum

I either did it in my carport with nothing on and unplugged or set up a market tent in the backyard with a table.
Anybody doing it indoors needs a head exam. It literally is like working with a live bomb but fresh air defuses the bomb. Gotta respect that gas.
I'd still be doing it too but it was always weird growing organic weed then gassing it with a solvent. Love me some shatter but that was always a crossroad dilemma for me. Then came rosin and that was my answer.

I'm sure this won't help but we used to make them with a Jerry Garcia cigar tube. Cap it and hit the rounded end with a torch til it pops a little hole in the end. Unbleached coffee filter on the opening and blast the butane through your custom inlet. Hillbilly engineered.

I have less than 3 hundred in a diy press presses countless ounces of small batch still going strong - can’t beat a good press imo- cheap blasted live resin at the dispensary here is like 8$ a gram or less tough to blast fir that - however pressed rosin is 40-80$ a gram here so my press paid for itself after the first use if your interested message me - but sorry I don’t blast nuttin
