These will be my next knives.
Dalstrong 10" butcher knife, 6" boning knife, and a 12" slicer.
Theyll be my butcher knives, I need new ones so bad.

My butcher knife is a Rapala filet knife at the moment lolView attachment 122364View attachment 122365

I have a decent set for the kitchen, kinda old and Mom gave them to me for Xmas, but they're solid stainless steel and with a good sharpener, are gttting close to 20 years of service for me.

A few years ago I was turned onto Jero knives at a BBQ spot. Dude swore by them and they're priced above anything cheap, but for about $40 I got a trimming knife that is sneaky super high quality. Last year I was gifted a brand name endorsed knife that was 3x the price of the Jero and it's already out of service in the junk knife drawer.
Like I want a really nice knife as "my knife" for the kitchen all hand made and stuff but for work I really like the Jero blades. They can trim a brisket or cut thru bone and tendons with razor thin accuracy.

oh man i forgot all about that one... i don't even count that one. i printed one out, bought the little heat mat and never used it... i'm like what this is all the water it holds???

it was over engineered and under engineered all at the same time.. PINOC be sellin those like fuckin hotcakes!!!!! hahahahaha not makin fun, just havin fun.. always appreciate you sharing your designs!!!

corded would be great because i know my stoned ass would have it turned on for hours!!!! now maybe a motion sensor to a timer so it doesn't chew up the battery..

but man yet another usb cord on my desk.. like the nine i have ain't enough!! hahaha

i haven't used this in a long time but i made this when i first got my printer. i made it hold those wax wallets i like and i put usb c lighting on it...

at first i'm like wtf?!! then when ya said every bandit needs a snowman i started shaking my head the other way like right on!!!

now theres something i haven't seen or heard in a very very long time!!!!!!!!!!! i was more of a donkey kong and asteroids acader but pacman was still loads of fun!!!!!!

IDK if there will be a Donkey Kong but it seems to be a once a year drop at Costco. Last year it was Ms PacMan and the year before that I'm pretty sure was centipede. This year it's PacMan. There's never a Donkey Kong in the games either. Like this is pacman but it also has galaga, dig dug, and like 10 or so more.

It's just wild how it goes down and it's like part of the crazy money saving cult of weird shit at costco.
This year there were two arcades...Pacman and Star Wars pinball. Pacman started at $700 and SW pinball at $4600 and they drop around Halloween.
The suckers buy them up as soon as they drop.
2 week before Xmas, they get discounted. Christmas Eve will be the last day they're up front then they go to the back wall in the corner of the store.
Then after Xmas, they get the clearance price and if the item is something really cool, the employees will stash it behind something or turn it so you can't really tell what it is then after a certain time has passed, employees get dibs on unsold stuff so if you ever look inside a Costco employee break room, all their shit is nice. Fancy fridges and coffee makers and shit like that.
So once I saw it back there in the corner with some boxes of collector cards and lego stuff obscuring it, time to pounce! Got the $700 pub table for only $200!!!
But dude, I've been trying to get these kinds of scores since 2016 and this only my 3rd time. It's super rare to get them because most just don't have the patience. Those Star Wars pinballs all sold out before Xmas. They were super cool and awesome but not almost $5000 awesome. If one made it to the back wall and dropped down to $1000 I mighta pulled out the CC and had some 'splainin' to do to the wife.

That "purple" is pretty pink...

I started wondering about that when I was looking at small heat pads. I couldn't find any that had adjustable voltage

It'd be used in the mom tent more than likely, on a mat down under the plants.

Simple is best.

-------

Took me a minute to even see what was going on with that snowman.. badass

I guess at the Loveshack pink is called something else like girl red but that shit there is pink AF!!!
I see he's got another funky little spool too down there.... looks like like wine and tampon but IDK 😋

The snowman fits and works well on the Peak too!

Bringing holiday joy one dab at a time!

Bomb dropped holiday themed toppers this year for Halloween and Xmas. I waited too long and the Halloweens sold out but hoping they do more next year.

That would make a pretty good tramp stamp!! :ROFLMAO:
I like the definition below it.."desperado" :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Who ever wrote that had help from Hollywood and watched a few John Wayne westerns to comes up with that. I've seen brigand, thief, member of gang who profits by plunder, and even marauder but that's the first time I've ever seen desperado! That's just hilarious to me.

Cut back and pruned to next to nothing but have the roots to go forward.
There will be attrition. 5 plants have the chance to be males. Only 9 get a spot in the boat. Hempy tub is on standby for overflow.
Germination and short veg went very well with all 13 seeds giving me a plant when I only wanted 9.

Will wind down into flip over 3 days so by January 8th, they'll be on 12/12. When pistils show, they'll drop to 11/13 and finally 10/14 for ripen.
There's barely any plant to them after pruning and aint gonna lie, I'm nervous about flipping.
Just keep telling myself to trust the process. It's not about how they start but how they finish. You don't want 7 footers again so flip 'em. Shit like that🙃

Been on the to-do list pretty much since the movie then to find out it was just Trainwreck x Hawaiian was a little like realizing Santa Claus wasn't real.
I liked Saul's description better!🥴

Went looking for a modern but older haze hybrid from around 95'-2015 and with that, Pineapple Express found it's way into my vertical germinator this week.
Got a 5 pack of fems from Grower's Choice and dropped 3.
Also added a free sample of bison mojo from Grease to this round of seed starting

Joining the party as companion plants, Strawberry Cough🍓🤭😵‍💫😵, (one of my desert island strains), and another throwback who might steal the whole show, Montana Silvertip🏔️🗻🏕️💎🥈.
Dropped 3 of each

Also tossing in some home bred F1 wildcard testers to see what happens.
Dropped 5, kept 4, fed 1 to the cat

That vertical seed tray is cool as hell. I normally tilt my 2 plates on there side to achieve this. But this looks better.

That's the vertical germinator designed and 3D printed by Yours Truly!
I'm taking orders now so if you want one...now's the time to ask. 100% free!

They'll pull through and bounce back just fine. Maybe a day or two of slowed growth, if that.

I agree but I always get a lump in my throat and question myself when I throw 'em into shock.
I do it all at once..upcan, prune up top, and also cut away lots of roots. On top of that, I change their light schedule too.
I feel like if I'm gonna shock 'em, do it all at once instead of stringing it out. I think that alone shaves time off the 18 hour days not needing more veg time to recover from each shocking event.

Yesterday after upcan was a 17 hour day and today will be 16. Monday down to 15 and Tuesday go ahead down to 12/12.
Veg nutes 100% until I see pistils.

The shock is wearing off and we can start to see the beginnings of the infrastructure that in about 8 weeks time, should be monster donkey dick size colas.
At this point, I really do not care one bit about any large leaf. They'll all be gone in about 3 weeks anyways and are only there to support the new shoots. Once those shoots are off and running, those large leaves are pointless to keep around and will be removed.

IMG_3014[1].jpeg

Video fly thru looking for shoots. Everything up to now has been about building a root ball and setting up the vascular system to direct nutrient traffic.
If this is gonna work as planned, by this time next week it should look like plant fairies came and gave me a bigger better garden

For shits and giggles....The flood happens at 4:20am every day ;gr

Hell yes.

Love watching this Evolve.

ya know i gotta try and church up this color a little bit... is tampon whine really the right shade!?!? i'm not a big purp fan but it looks kinda good....

Bandit something i've been wanting to ask you for a long time now... i noticed you print your wavy gravy walls in the vertical position..

have you ever printed one in the horizontal? i print mine laying flat all the time since the single sides. i think it makes the channel slicky ricky smooth.. heres yours and mine side x side.... PLUS it cuts a ton of time off the print!!!!!

That color turned out pretty good...

it kinda surprised me.. it a PETG material so it's slightly translucent, when you shine a bright light through it you can see the internal structure like stained glass!!!

That's a lot more purple than your other spool, that's for sure. I dig purple and black and that thing looks sweet.

I printed vertical because of warping issues so I learned to use as small footprint as possible and have stuck with it.
But that was also off my old printer as it was going to shit, a haphazard Z-offset, and some shitty red and black silk filament I was trying to spend up and finally get rid of it.
Things are much better now 😋

I have this really cool purple speckle I got on sale during black friday and I've been looking for a reason to load it since. Love the different purps too and I have about 6 spools of them

Almost see a honeycomb like pattern.

That's the infill pattern and can be one of several. Couple of my faves are a spiral and lighting so if the color is transparent, it can look like a storm or a swirl inside the print.

Kicking around another one off design inspired by the transparent ez clone machine.

Will either be air lift irrigated or use micro-perforated cellophane if it can hold moisture. No other reason to do it other than I think it would be cool to have a transparent vg and watch things happen like an ant farm.

They look cool. Too big for me but a six or eight cell would be interesting to play with. Leaking would be a concern. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. 🍿

Refering to the Ez Cloner and Turbo kloner you posted.

I’ve cloned in water but only the shotglass let me see the results easily. If you designed one that I could scale down and print that would be a cool project. But due to current laws I’d never try more than six or eight as I’d have to toss the extras once they all rooted.

Watching it in action would be like watching a fish tank. 🤣

The plastic is transparent but that doesn't mean it leaks. No different than a glass of water. You can see the water inside the glass but that doesn't mean it can spill out. Most hydro shops have a display cloner you can go see for yourself and how they work. The transparent models were for store displays only but sometimes one will pop up on ebay..

The number thing is confusing too. Like do you not use seedling trays because there's 48 spots or just use 6 of the 48 which you need?
Clone machines are no different and really, the site count is a non factor and the most important thing really is dimensions to hold desired number. So just because a clone machine advertises as 36 site, with cannabis, that's actually around 10-12 sites.
Everything is a moving target and nothing is cookie cutter in this game. And the game is 3 dimensional chess with this plant.
And yeah, fuck the laws when it comes to numbers. Every number here above zero is illegal so I have zero fucks to give about following a plant count law

I’m referring to printed ones might leak, not store bought. Not all things printed have been water tight. And some PLA/PLA+ will swell. I was thinking you were going to print one not buy one.

The number thing is confusing too. Like do you not use seedling trays because there's 48 spots or just use 6 of the 48 which you need?
If I’m growing for the garden I use the full tray. I no longer use the trays for seedlings or clones as it’s a waste of space and I never grow more than eight, four of which are backups.

That’s why I printed smaller seedling trays and clone in a red coffee can. They fit better in my tent and nothing wasted. I even have small round domes that perfectly fit over the coffee cans with a top vent.

If you made a 3D version of the clear cloner I’d try to print one using the same material once you tested. The smallest I’ve seen I could buy holds 9 squared. Like the one you sent G$ iirc but far less cells. (Think it was you he got it from?)

I try to be as legal as I can at each stage. And not just because I post things. I’m in the middle of a city with a bus stop beside my driveway and yard.

I’ll start with as many as eight if the first four don’t take off right away. But once four are established I’ll toss or give away the rest.

Having a clear cloner with jets about the size of an egg carton sounds like it would fit and be cool. But if you’re making a 48+ cell version there is no point in me trying to make one unless I can scale it down.

I could cheat and possibly find a $ store container I could chop up like I did the coffee can cloner and just copy the plumbing but if you’re printing one I figured why not see how that turns out. I still have about 20 neoprene pucks left over. 🤣

Thought I'd drop a little witchcraft on Y'all with a rez change day.

The players

IMG_3062[1].jpeg

55 gallons of purified water is loaded into the white barrel about one week ahead of the change keeping it aerated and set to room temp.
Two buckets are used during a change...the white 3 gallon is for emptying the rez and the black 2 gallon is for filling it.
The nutrient reservoir is the large 40 gallon livestock tub on the floor and it's plumbed up to the grow bed to flood and drain the bed.

IMG_3058[1].jpeg

First, the old rez is emptied then I use the black bucket to refill it and count how many buckets I use. On an empty rez, it's 50 buckets and that makes 30 gallons.

My water base ppm is 140 and pH is 9.0 so that's where things start.
There's some nuance to my water and how it reacts to hydroponic fertilizer. Long story short, my water plays excellent with the stuff but it's very ez to get too hot.

If I'm mixing up a batch of nutes to max strength, I set that for 20 gallons and not the full 30. Little lesson learned the hard way.

The plumbing is disconnected so the pump can circulate the water for mixing and I begin adding the ingredients.

This particular formula calls for a 2-1-1 parts mix of grow, micro, and calmag so for this 30 gallon rez it wll be 40tsp of grow going in first and letting circulate for 10-15 minutes. Next up is micro and then calmag, each with a 10-15 minute gap between additions.

When I set up this medium the pH came out a little on the high side at 6.8 so for this first change after upcan I'm gonna set the pH a little on the low side between 6.0 and 6.2. and bring that 6.8 down into a more preferred range around 6.3-6.5 correcting it. 6.8 aint bad but I like that 6.5 more.

After the nutes mix for about an hour I check the pH. It was at 6.7 and I want it down a few ticks before I send it upstairs.

These are the adjusters I have to use and both are for hydroponic nutrient solutions specifically so they're not for pools or fish, just for hydroponics.
They're used to adjust a little at a time and to be used very sparingly after nutes are mixed with the water.

IMG_3076[1].jpeg

IMG_3074[1].jpeg

The 30 gallons at 6.7 only needed two tablespoons of pH down before I saw this...6.04 and a happy face!

IMG_3065[1].jpeg

So my rez is set and now I check my moisture sensors.....

IMG_3066[1].jpeg

IMG_3067[1].jpeg

Two probes confirming > 50% moisture along with a 6.04 and 1000ppm fresh rez only means one thing now...Send it!!!

IMG_3071[1].jpeg

A couple hours after the flood and checking the return....

IMG_3072[1].jpeg

IMG_3077[1].jpeg

Will keep this rez going for a week then change it out and repeat this process all over again every 7-10 days.

I like the weekly- 10 day complete res change out.
It eliminates the possibly of ratios going off like when topping off.
Since even if you tracked ppm you still don't know what exactly is used and left behind.
The complete change keeps your ratios perfect or as you chose to set them.
I do really like the swap weekly -10 days.
In aquarium plant keeping this method is called EI [ estimated index ] and the whole pretense is you don't need to know how much of what is being taken up.
You just offer fresh balanced feeds weekly.

7-10 days is such a wonderful slacker schedule. A nice window of time that says yeah it's gotta get done but not right away. 😋
I've dumbed it down for myself to make it so ez there's not much to track.
2-1-1 is the same every time. During transition the 2 will be split 1/1 grow/bloom then for flower the 2 is all bloom but yeah it's always 2 of the main, 1 micro, and 1 calmag.
I keep the ppm lowish, only check that at the end to make sure I don't run it hot by mistake but yes operating in that 1000ppm range even though it's calling for close to 2000ppm is allowable with the frequent changes keeping a fresh supply of food in there even though it's not a ton of food.

Top offs will be needed later when they start to guzzle like drunken sailors and that's always a half strength concoction of micro or calmag and later during flower it's changed to Bembe.

The downside to this is that I will use a lot of water and nutrients with the frequent changes.
1 quart of calmag ($13) 1/2 gallon grow ($20) 1/2 gallon of bloom ($20) 1 pouch of soluble ($24) 2oz grease ($5) along with a whopping 660 gallons of water will be used. So that's why I have discounted nutes bought on sale and no RO water is being used for this😋

Not all of that is wasted though. These are the some of beneficiaries since there's so much life left in the rez when I change it every week

IMG_3049[1].jpeg

hehehe...The transparent VG might come out better than expected. I doubt I can get it like glass but I bet I could see a tap root and seed in there!
I also added a little Easter egg adjusting the settings so it swirls the walls and gives an effect like the print is filled with liquid when moved around in light.
If I do this in my blue transparent, I may be able to make a VG look like it's made of water

IMG_3089[1].jpeg

My tests with perforated cellophane (bread plastic) is that it can hold some moisture, likely enough for germination, but it cannot wick up moisture and defy gravity like a paper towel. I may still be able to use it though and just have to pump water or manually keep it wet all the time
