Hey everyone, welcome to my 2026 journal, and thanks for checking it out. This season is going to be a very busy one, and I hope to be able to share the rollercoaster that is my reproductions/breeding projects. So heres a quick update to catch everyone up. Over the winter I upgraded my little 6 x 8 greenhouse for seed production, adding tables, fans and a heat mat under a capillary mat to allow me to make seeds all year. Now that the weather is warming up here in California, its time to expand and start doing some larger projects taking advantage of that wonderful summer sun. My method involves running seeds indoors 12/12 from seedling, and putting choice males/pollinated females outside to finish under the sun, regardless of the light cycle. It allows more space to pop new things indoors and keep the process moving as quickly as possible. Theres also some peppers and veggie starts on the right table, some overwintered peppers on the floor, as well as some choice females getting the reveg treatment in the corner. Its not looking too full yet, but the plan is to get it very full very soon.

And heres the same greenie last fall in Jungle-mode

The main projects Im focusing on this season are larger open pollinations of Bodhi gear for Bodhi Apocalypse Vault(BAV), as well as line working/making selections of old Neville NL/Hashplant indica variations, and of course working on some beloved chem and diesel lines. Currently the seedout-table is loaded up with Some Hunza Valley 91 from Lucky Dog, chasing that Neville HP/chem recombination with the seeds almost ripe. Some Chem91 x Sensi Star from Doc D that recently got seeded, as well as some Lavender Lemonade x Hashplant D from Bodhi currently dropping pollen. I make a lot of F2s based on F1 populations that have traits I really enjoy, but are more of a fun side mission to my main projects.

The current main projects are hunting through about 70 Berry White x Snow Lotus seeds I made way back in 2018 from hitting my best commercial cropper cuts from my deps in Santa Cruz with snow lotus to try to preserve them in seed. I made the F2s last fall, and just did some testers and should have F3s sooner than later. Berry White seems to have gotten lost with time, but the distinct bubblegum flavor and really euphoric high has passed really well into the F2 population, not to mention some really nice yields. Just like the old clone we loved so much.

And here's a dep greenie stacked with Berry White circa 2018.

I also just planted a tray of some F2s made by my local buddy grotebag of an F1 cross I made of my beloved Lav mom x Neroli91 in attempts to stabilize a really amazing 50/50 diesel/chem and lavender pheno with unrelenting potency and very nice yields. In addition, I popped/potted up 11 seeds of DLA 14(Jalalabad x 88g13hp) from Bodhi for my first BAV reproduction of 2026. Instead of my usually 12/12 from seedling method, these will get vegged a good 4-6 weeks to get a good stock of seeds to share with BAV and anyone interested. I personally really love those ghani x ghani crosses, and I have a hunch these are going to be no exception. Aside from this general outline, I will be constantly popping new stuff made by myself, breeders, friends, and breeder-friends lol. So at any point there can and likely will be other stuff popping into the rotation as I hunt them out and make some pollen fly. And for anyone interested in my day-to-day SOPs, here's my cheat sheet that explains exactly what I do

Really glad to see you posting this here, Boogie. I’ve learned a ton from watching your grows and I’m excited to see the magic unfold again. Wherever you document your work, I’ll be following along. Appreciate you continuing to share with the community.

My apologies for the delayed update. The last month has been extremely busy with trying to get everything up and running for the season. As well as doing a bunch of upgrades that I've been putting off over the winter. The main project has been getting my greenhouse irrigation upgraded to be able to work with capillary mats. I normally use blumat surface sensors, but they require a rez sitting in the heat, or hose line that's always on. And I know in the summer, cool water is vital to keeping stuff as happy as possible. So instead, I'm using some 1/8th inch soaker hose I made into a simple manifold prototype that I will run on a basic manual hose timer in line with a pressure reducer and carbon filter. I have the lines all intentionally loose, so if any of my dog homies decide to kick it around while running past, everything has several feet of give. And hopefully no blown irrigation connections. I've also just upgraded some circulation fans in the tents, as well as completely reorganized my tea/nutes/foliar, added a new shelving rack, and did some spring cleaning of the grow space overall.
IMG_4998.jpgIMG_4987.jpg

As for reproductions, the weather is just starting to warm up, so the seed making process is sped up quite a bit. Since last month I have harvested a number of seeded Chem91 x Sensi Star’s from Doc D. As well as some Hunza Valley 91’s from Lucky Dog to check out. They both have really killer old school hashplant/NL traits that I find irresistible in cannabis.

The DLA 14 plants have since been put under 12/12 after about 3 weeks of veg from seed, and just showed sex/got potted up this week. I potted the females to 1 per pot, and stuck multiple males per pot, mostly to save space. It's a trick I've been doing a good bit lately, and really enjoy how it works out. They look about a week from the males starting to drop pollen. So a couple days before that I'll put them outside in the greenhouse, and bring the females out periodically to catch some pollen without messing up their light cycle. But once they're fully seeded, they'll stay outside to finish out.

As for the BW x SL project, I narrowed it down to 6 females and 5 males. Trying to chase down the pheno that is almost exactly like the original clone, as well as one that flowers a good bit longer, and has more of a snow lotus cool cerebral influence. I've been smoking testers of both a good bit, and found them both worth chasing. So I intentionally let all the males/females of the smaller BW learners seed out together, then let the bigger ones catch pollen about a week later. It's kind of a pain to juggle multiple angles in the same project, but oftentimes worth it in the end. They are all visibly very seeded, and I expect them to be ready within just a few more weeks. Just like all the seeded plants I run, I will let them go until the plants basically die on the vine.
IMG_5003.jpg

Speaking of dying on the vine, The HP D x Lav Lemonade seeded females are just about dead on the vine now. They're not a thing of beauty to look at. But the nice ripe seeds make it very worth it. The sensi testers from the same batch have been absolutely killer. I've been really impressed(and so have my buddies I make tests for me) how much it has that intense sweet flavor, but just a mule kick of potency. Definitely not one I would recommend for daytime smoke.
IMG_5001.jpg

I've also been running testers of HPD F2s I made last fall,, and it seems to carry that same relentless potency. But with a classic Puck/hashplant flavor vs the sweet Z flavor Lav Lemon seems to give. I was really interested to see how those new Bodhi Yab Yum crosses came out. And most of them have been really impressive. I've ran many sweet plants in my tenure growing, but very rarely do I find ones with that much flavor paired with that much potency.
IMG_4933.jpg

Up next on the docket is something really special that I am extremely excited to be able to share with folks. Every year Bodhi sends BAV special and old packs to F2/share. But this year he did something even more over the top with kindness and sent a bag of about 60 Tranquil Elephantizer(Snow Lotus x G13HP) to reproduce. The seeds are no doubt pretty old, but I have been able to get 16 up and into soil. With a couple more potential ones sprouting now. It's not the best return, but plenty enough to save the line! They are growing pretty slowly as expected. So for now, they're hanging out in the veg tent under a HLG Saber 150 so they can take their sweet time. I do plan on vegging these a good bit longer than normal to try to get as many seeds as possible. But in my experience doing repros on old beans, there's kind of a point of diminishing returns past a certain size. So I will keep a super close eye on them,, and make sure they're staying nice and happy until it's time to flip.
IMG_4956.jpgIMG_4983.jpg

Another fun little experimental side project I'm playing with right now is what I call project in a pot. I took all the nice males/females from Chem D x PuckBx from Crickets and Cicada and potted them all up into a 5 gallon pot once they showed sex. Then did a super low tech light dep for a couple weeks by keeping them outside in the day. Then putting them inside a dark area of the garage at 6pm until dark, and putting them back outside. This time of year the plants aren’t going to grow to their maximum potential. But it does allow me to make some F2s quick and easy.
IMG_4953.jpg

Also, here’s another fun little trick I do now that it's warm enough to keep plants outside. I normally keep my inside mother plants in 1 gallon pots, but on sunny days I put them outside to catch some natural sun and stay real healthy. But oftentimes the other clones will get kinda pissy and wonky over the winter months. So the trick I've been doing for many years is make sure the majority of the light they get is from the sun. Luckily they need very little to stay vegging outside. My solution is nothing more than a simple LED solar spotlight zip tied to a bamboo stack in the pot. This really special pure gas diesel mom is just a short year old now, and in need of some natural sunlight to revitalize. I've got clones of it as backups, but I always like to keep the original moms around as long as physically possible. Especially something this offensively gassy. Second pic is a Hashplant 1 mother in a 1 gallon to get a better idea

IMG_4979.jpg

Finally, here’s a quick recap of some other fun plants that are blowing up the yard. I've got a bunch of peppers from my buddy ChiliRx that have been potted up into 3 inch pots a couple weeks ago, and are doing wonderfully in the greenhouse on the table. As well as most of the peppers I overwintered are coming back with a passion. I'm only a 2nd year pepper grower, so these are more to experiment with new varieties and see what I enjoy from the exotic pepper world. Luckily they've been a breeze to grow. There are also a handful of tobacco plants I planted in pots and in the ground last season that have been exploding in growth. About a month ago I harvested them all back to basically nothing, but after some warm and spring rains, they all came back with a vengeance. Which is very welcome in my yard. Last year they were so effective at pest control, I only had to spray some citric acid a couple times the whole season.
IMG_5008.jpgIMG_5005.jpgIMG_4995.jpg

My current pop is a half tray of F5s of my beloved Lav line for some more headstash, as well as a half tray of PNW HP x Puck F2s to hopefully find some special specimens for F3s. As well as some Neroli91 F2s, and a good number of Lav x Neroli F2s(also known as LN91 in house) to hopefully lock down a special 50/50 diesel/chem with lavender pheno in there.
IMG_4980.jpg

I’ll be sure to be more on top of updates in the future. Especially now that things are going to start moving a lot quicker with the warmer weather. Luckily, at this point of the season it's mostly about keeping things watered/fed and staying out of their way. Well, and trying to figure out what to pop next lol.

Back with a quick and dirty update. The weather has been pretty cool with lots of rain for this area since last time, so stuff has been moving a bit slower. The BW x SL seeded plants were finally ready to harvest, and all had some really nice dark seeds. I did my usual harvest trick for seeded plants where I ground up the wet buds and removed as much plant matter as possible, seperated by each plant, then put them all into my "dry box" which is just an old Excalibur dehydrator with the heating element removed. The setup was originally for drying hash, but it also works great for drying a good number of seeds quickly.

The DLA14 males were also just removed, and the 2 nice females are fully seeded. Unfortunately, there's no other solid ladies to catch pollen, but that's the way it seems to go on older seed stock. Or at least something I have seen pretty consistently since starting to do repro's on older packs, for whatever it's worth. But it should be smooth sailing for those in the greenhouse until the seeds are ripe.

To replace those DLA14's I just pulled the best males/females I could find from the LN91( aka Lav x Neroli91) F2s and just put them out in the greenhouse yesterday to let the pollen fly. The males are juust about to start really dropping, and the females are showing their phenos. The plan is to chase down that really nice "middle pheno" that seems to sit kinda smack dab in between the more diesel side from Lav, and the more chem side from Neroli.
IMG_5018.jpg

In other good news, the outdoor mom with the solar light, as well as the mostly indoor moms have been doing really well. Just a few weeks outside(even in partial sun) really seems to bring life back into those moms. While the one mom has stayed purely outdoor, the majority of them spend nights and overcast days inside under the lights, then I stick them in the greenhouse during the days. Its a bit of effort, but over the years Ive found that to be a really useful trick to keeping the mother stock consistently happy.
IMG_5028.jpgIMG_5020.jpgIMG_5023.jpg
As for current pops, I am doing a mixed tray from myself, as well as from a few other breeders for some more head stash. As much as I love making seeds, I always like to be trying new things to see if anything catches my eye. As well as just for a nice diversity of smoke day to day. This round is Chemspiracy F4s, 'Spiracy x Hwy101, Orissa x 101, all from me. Chem D x Sensi Star from Crickets and Cicada, Betsy x Kush Cleaner from 707, and Carmal ghani x Lavender from Bodhi. All less than 96 hours from the jump.
IMG_5030.jpg
Up next are the Elephant Tranquilizers, another 2 seedlings dudded out and didnt make it. But the remaining 14 are doing well. They were just potted up a couple days ago into 2's from the 4 inch pots after looking a little hungry. Sometimes I'll top dress them in the small pots to buy time, but I'm hoping the bigger pots will get them ready to flower a bit quicker. They should only need a few more weeks to be ready to flip. I was originally hoping to snag clones off them to pass around, but with the slow speed of growth, it's looking like the best option will be to just get some fresh seed stock to pull keepers.
IMG_5034.jpg
And finally, here's a quick update on the PNW HP x Pucks just before flipping to flower. This is right where I like to get them before going into 12/12. I dont need to see a ton of foliage, as long as theres good new growth. The hope is to find some really nice old school hashplant phenos in the mix.
IMG_5032.jpg

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words! Now for another round of updates in the madness that is my current grow. I've been popping just reckless amounts of seeds lately, so much of my time has been just trying to stay on top of all these transplants coming through now that the summer heat is really kicking off. Aside from all the canna plants, I have been getting my kooky succulents collection and just an unreasonable number of peppers from my buddy PepperRx all getting potted up and set for the growing season. For all those, I use a much more simple mix of 6-8 year old reused soil, cut with about 20-30% rice hulls and a little Espoma Garden Tone, which will keep them fed and happy for a good while.
IMG_5154.jpg

Now that I can really maximize my space outside, I have been popping at reckless levels. Mostly a bunch of my Lavender Boogie line for some full term headstash. But also a range of sativas from a bunch of sources. I pop at least 8 or 10 every season, and expect most to not do well in my climate. But any that do well, and flower super long will get strategically hit by some pollen. That's a project for November though, so for now it's just trying to keep them from not freaking out too much in the wildly different climate. I find since so many sativas are from places with lots of humidity, bringing them here with the very hot dry summers will piss them off in all sorts of exciting and fun ways. And only the strongest will survive!
IMG_5159.jpgIMG_5155.jpg

I've also just taken in some PuckBx males from my buddy grotebag who is actively doing an OP reproduction on them. They are all currently revegging, and have been heavily cut back/strategically defoliated/supercropped to refocus the plant’s energy to really focus on making nice dads. I have been personally obsessed with all things Puck/old Neville Hashplants from the 80s. As a pure line, as well as outcrosses have been extremely fun to grow and enjoyable to smoke. So the goal is to hunt out a super stud male to start hitting everything under the sun. Currently they're just in the corner of the greenie with a solar spotlight zip tied to a bamboo stake, and most seem to already be revegging very nicely. This is the third season I've done that trick to keep stuff vegging, and it feels like I'm cheatig it works so well. Being able to assure things will continue to veg outside, even though we're pushing ever closer to the Summer Solstice and flower season was a serious game changer. Then in about 3 weeks, I'll cycle them inside with the other males/females to allow everything to flower out naturally for the fall.
IMG_5156.jpg

As for the seedout-table, there are PNW Hashplant x PuckBx F2s from Crickets and Cicadas and reproduced by another friend of mine. Not to hashplant-nerd out too hard, but this cross is a kind of/sort of backcross of the Hashplant seed line that made Puck(HP x NL1) back to the original clone. I cant verify if Puck is the BX version, or F3 version from Neville. But from my experience running NL1 lines, I would guess it was the BX version, thus making this cross really a BX2 of sorts. These are the fun speculations that keep me up at night. But the plants are just such beautiful squat indicas with the most amazing smells and effects on such short flowering plants. Often 50 days or less. But I have to say just how beefy the stalks have become, there's some serious special stuff in this line. The males are looking less than a week or so from dropping pollen, and as soon as they are, I'll bring out the females to catch pollen and make some F3s. I pulled the males out of the flower tent about 2 weeks ago(with 1 day of full darkness), since most still want to reveg outside, I was putting them in a dark spot in the garage with some panda plastic from about 6pm until dark. It's a real skeezy trick to keep stuff in flower in the summer months, and I've been having great results with it.
IMG_5126.jpgIMG_5144.jpg

There’s also a few Oil Spill x Pucks from Pagoda on the table that just got seeded. There was only 1 male, and 4 really nice females. Oftentimes I do these little side project seedouts just to get to F2 to do some exploratory popping. When I was really coming up in the prop 215 scene around Cali, Mandelbrat was one of the few breeders I’d see all the time with his fantastic Gas types, Headbands, and Kushes. And this cross seems to bring a lot of that cool vibe. In my opinion, the world is severely lacking in really great outdoor gas heavy indica varieties, and I hope this may be a pathway forward for that goal.

The bonsai moms/dads have been getting put out in the greenie every day as well, and they have been really loving life with all the warmth and sun. At this point it's mostly about trying to keep up with all the maintenance and keeping them watered. As for the diesel mom that got potted up to a 2 gal, it outgrew the space so I gave it the ol strip’n’flip and potted it into a 5 gal and dropped it into flower. I really love that clone, so having a little extra headstash of it never hurts.
IMG_5139.jpgIMG_5141.jpg
IMG_5162.jpg

And finally, the stars of the show currently, the Elephant Tranquilizer. They really took their time getting vegged out, but they were finally established well enough out to be ready to flower. I did my usual strip’n’flip, and dropped them to flower. It only took about 5 days for all the males to sex, and they are way ahead of the females. So I have been keeping them in my yard cart and blacking them out in the garage at 6pm just like I was doing with the PNW HP x Pucks.. I did cull another 2 males that were very runty, and really stalling out. Which ends up as 6 males and 6 females As of a day and a half ago, moved the males out with the males to let the magic happen. Even though these took about twice as long to get well established and happy enough for me to justify them flowering. They really have ended up in beautiful looking and smelling plants. I can tell these are a variety that will just stack colas. So I’m going to be very interested in what folks find in those F2s.
