A Turkey In The Hay 🦃

We had real bad wind gust for around 2 hours here.
Hope they get your power back up quick.
Glad you didn't lose the power! Won't be quick here, tens of thousands out all over the state

this is just a little local outage, neighbor half a mile up the road has power, so they probably won't get to it for a while.

Great power crews here though!

^post 1,000~!^
Saying we may end in rain tomorrow?
The rain on Friday melted all but the snow banks.
Oh I didn't notice that, 1000's good luck! Que bueno suerte!

25° here tomorrow so we're getting all snow but not too much 2:00 to 4:00 that's plenty, then no more for the rest of the year please Lord🙏🏻

I feel for the people traveling tomorrow though, that's not going to help

Note to self: straighten out tarp on woodpile before the snow
How sad is it I write myself notes LOL I knew I'd check here in the morning so make sense

If I don't get it straightened out now I won't get another chance because I doubt we have another melt off like this not in January / February in northern Maine

I reckon I'll get mostly through January with the wood that's still in the garage unless it's below zero every night & single digits every day like it was in 21/22, then all bets are off 🥶

I have no idea if I get through this year with the wood I have, gonna be close. Next year I'm going back to putting up 6 cords instead of 4

The snow was supposed to start around 8 am here.
It appears to be right on schedule.
I only consider or give any consideration to one channel on TV . It is one of the local channels and I just figure they all sort of try to be different a little from others so pay no mind to other reports~!
On the computer I use 2 sites.
Ventusky has every aspect you could want from wind, to ground cover snow and besides not predicting well it shows what is actually going on.
The other site I use for just radar.

They show it is here now and a good distance from you so 8 pm may be accurate.
In the 1-5 inch range and decided it was not worth the 30+ mile drive to work today.
Not because of morning traffic but afternoon. Combo of holiday traffic and snow is a strong pass for me~!
That and fresh snow on flat roofs is not always advantageous. All my work is on the edge of the building and I don't need to be leaning over the edge all day in snow.

Roofing is a tough business! My company used to service a fleet of trucks for a roofing company back in the day.

I would occasionally be on roofs in the winter servicing restaurant equipment, didn't care for it LOL I don't like heights, if I can avoid them.

I have AccuWeather and about a half a dozen other options I can choose from, but they're all over the place more often than they're close to each other. I pick the one that has the right temperature and go from there, not very scientific 🤣

One weather app is saying four to six inches now, and another one is saying 9" total on the Storm... 4 to 6 would be okay ☃️🎄

They pushed the start back from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00
We woke up to about 4” of packing snow. It’s raining now. Some are using snow throwers others are waiting for the rain to clear sidewalks. We’ll see.

I'd roll the dice & wait, but then you got to be careful it doesn't freeze... 🤔 snow can be complicated

I use this Zoom Earth site, it gives a few different satellite modes, moisture, wind, temp ect. great when hurricanes are approaching to follow the track.
