We need a "like" and "laugh" emoji combined for p[osts like this. I like that the measure passed and laughed at the mayor's comment.Cannabis cafes are on their way to Sacramento after a contentious Tuesday night City Council meeting where lawmakers narrowly approved a plan that allows smoking lounges.
The plan permits the city to have up to 40 cannabis lounges, where patrons can smoke cannabis and eat pre-packaged food (WTF). The lounges can only be at existing cannabis dispensaries.
The council voted 5-4 in support of the measure, with Mayor Darrell Steinberg casting the deciding vote. Steinberg acknowledged his position Tuesday night before giving a lengthy description of his thought process. “I’m really burnt up about this” on how to vote, he said.
I've always wanted to try some long range shooting. Most of my rifles are for hunting with no true target rifles. There used to be a range in WV that I wanted to check out. It was run by guys who had served in the special forces. I'm not sure if they're still in operation. They offered advanced self defense training for hand guns. The range was on a property that had a huge old quarry with some longe range rifle targets. It's too hilly near me to set up long targets unless you have a big farm on some bottom land. You can do ridge to ridge, but that's a real pain to get to the targets. One of the things that is needed the very most when I’m trying to teach a shooter to read the wind. Not like you can actually see it. You have to imagine or visualize it. Be proud, not everyone has that ability!
Here’s my POV down range. Targets are the white you can barely see along the tree line. 600 yards.I've always wanted to try some long range shooting. My scope is a Nightforce Benchrest, 108 grain 6mm. Yes I load, when I can’t talk the Hubby in to it! Lol. You are welcome to come shoot with us here anytime or even at the St Louis Benchrest Club in Warrenton. Those shoots will start again in the spring, our club shoots 12 months out of the year.Is that a Swarovski scope?
What load? Do you load your own ammo?
I’ve got a few long range setups. I was fortunate my farm was a mile deep so I could plink whenever I was there. Never got good but I could keep it on the target at 600. Most of the time. I enjoyed reloading. Did pistol rifle and 12 gauge. Shooting trap was kinda my thing. Really need to get back to that.

Yeah, I wouldn't know where to start at that range, but I imagine it would be fun to figure things out. That's pretty wild. Here’s my POV down range. Targets are the white you can barely see along the tree line. 600 yards.View attachment 79909
I'm blown away that my small town in rural VA had a smoking lounge for 3 years and not Sacramento, I think it closed this year, but never sure cause it's blacked out. I went there once for 4/20. It's even more bizarre in VA cause we don't have dispensaries. So you could bring your own weed in there after you pay the $5 admission. No weed products at all... No liquor cause of the smoking lounge. It was def weird. Bring my own weed, pay someone to get in, and then roll my own weed up. Oh they supply an ashtray, that's it. Oh you can buy a soda if you have cash.Cannabis cafes are on their way to Sacramento after a contentious Tuesday night City Council meeting where lawmakers narrowly approved a plan that allows smoking lounges.

If they opened up a place like that in my small VA town, I'd almost be worried that they'd lock us in and set the building on fire, lol. I read about some shops in Southwestern VA that were selling tokens and gifting weed. Supposedly local law enforcement is aware and lets it slideI'm blown away that my small town in rural VA had a smoking lounge for 3 years and not Sacramento, I think it closed this year, but never sure cause it's blacked out. Its all slush, didn't amount to anything.
When I was in Amsterdam with two friends we visited the “coffee shops” daily.
You could buy, consume, and if you went to the back they had a big glass bong looking device that was my first vaporizer experience. (Like the first time all over again.)
We later found out in a park that smoking in public was not legal but if you weren’t stupid it would be ignored.
A lot of locals mixed the weed with tobacco most of the time but I’m not a fan. Last time I did that I was nauseous for hours.l even though I used to be a smoker.
Nothing like a frozen mug of Heineken on an outdoor patio beside the canals while enjoying a good joint.
It looked like you and Stoney were right on the edge of it~!

I’ll have to look on a map. We walked everywhere and stayed at the bicycle hotel. Top floor. The last set of stairs was a ladder.
The lizard/iguana park was cool but we walked them all and did the football & frisbee thing.
I’ll see if I can find the shop, it was in the street plaza, but that’s like saying it’s beside the bar.
We took two trains from the airport and walked to the hotel. 2008 iirc first thing I noticed was all the bicycles.we stayed just outside the city and took the fun train into the dam square...
Nice souvenirs. I still have a bong but I dropped the stem for the first time, outside on the sidewalk.

It lasted about 13 years. Still keeping an eye out for a martini glass style that fits. The bowl has a silkscreen shop weed menu on it.
I remembered I had a sticker of the shop. Place looked the same as their website.View attachment 80019

It was a great time but looking at the map I can’t even find the place we used to patio at before smoking and heading back for bed. You couldn’t smoke inside. But this was around 2008.
I only found the mushroom place walking back to the train station. Dam. I still have the grinder I bought there. Wasn’t so much a souvenir as a necessity.
I think I will come and watch first. Warrenton is a short trip for me.My scope is a Nightforce Benchrest, 108 grain 6mm. Yes I load, when I can’t talk the Hubby in to it! Lol. This is my last target at 600, second relay when after I figured out I blew the first one as I had put on my reading glasses to dial in some dope on my rifle, and failed to switch back to my shooting glasses! The shots with a S are sighters and don’t count for score. You can see the big wind shift in 13,14 and 15. It was screaming. Shot nine was a failure to read the mirage properly. Still pulled off that perfect 200 score. The X measures 3”.View attachment 79946
