Yesterday the new gen were uppotted.

I had intended to move them to five gallon fabric planters but I didn’t plan ahead. Those doggone things aren’t in any stores around here in winter and amazon was more than a week out so hard side pot it is.

I drilled about 200 holes into each hoping to improve o2 exposure for the roots.

Both root balls were dusted with great white and myco before dropping into a very light peat, perlite and pumice mix.

They didn’t even seem to notice, just kept looking happy.

Green crack is under a white led, Apple Gelato under blurple.

Same here. Summer is when I started. Carrying the plant(s) outside in the mornings and inside at night. Lol

Can you expand upon that? I’ve only ever had dispo GC, and was really impressed with it. Never had AG before. I’m interested in everything about it, but now curious about the synergism.

Just a real green apple fan so that combination always makes sense. I live in a cave and have never seen or smoked any of these exotic blends of which you all speak. You are growing some fire looking weed -- well done. I promise to update my outdoor grow experiment.

Cool, be nice to see it. I’ve only grown 5 strains in my life, four all this last year. Mostly sweet and flowery.

Been expanding my cannabis experience with a little help from my friends.

I wasn’t happy that the Apple Gelato was under the blurple light so I exchanged the shed lights for the garage light.

It’s a 230 light in exchange for two 100 watt lights, but the 230 seems much brighter. It’s hung higher and illuminates better.

Immediately, Apple Gelato perked up. Neither plant is currently “perky” but looking happier than the other lights.

My plan with these two new ladies in waiting is to share the tent with a SCROG Net above them, let them veg long enough to give me a good full coverage at screen level, then flip.

I’m hoping the flip can be done around new year, the tent looks to be available around 12/21. Not sure they can veg long enough by new year, but that’s the plan until it all changes which is also part of the plan (when it happens).

Both plants have compatible flower times so mixing in the SCROG shouldn’t be a problem. They should also fit side by side rather than on the diagonal so access to the pots will be easier.

Nutrients will be Humboldt Secrets two part nutrients along with golden tree, Ca/mag-iron, and flower stacker. After reviewing notebooks for my grows (21 - current), my least problematic grows and some of my best bud have been with Humboldt Secrets products.

Skywalker OG finished week 8 last Monday.
It’s not a big plant but seems to have nicely formed buds, but a couple have a bright look to them that I’m not familiar with

I don’t know if that’s just normal late growth or something that’s going to irritate me.

What ever it’s doing, it smells strongly, obviously it’s sugary and just hoping to get some good buds from it. My daughter bought it through the pacific seed bank a couple years ago.
I don’t remember the breeder but I’ll check if I can, I’ll update.

Those seeds have been good but nothing that really impressed me.

The stuff I grew over the summer came from them too. I’m pleased with it, it’s good smoke but germination has been problematic and plants don’t seem super sugary.

All documents I read indicate it should be ready between day 56 and 70.

Seems like a lot of variation there.

At any rate, hairs have all but disappeared. All trichomes look white. I see a few that a shiny but white at the head.

The only amber trichomes are on sugar leaves.

I keep wondering if it’s time to go or if there’s still growth taking place.

Skywalker met the blade this morning.
Little SOB was hiding the male flowers that probably fertilized the auto that was platinum GSC.

There were a decent amount of seeds in that one but it’s still some of the best buds I’ve had. Plat cookies is definitely sleeping medicine.

We’ll see what skywalker does.

Apple Gelato and green crack will go into the tent and veg until they fill the bottom of the tent.

I feel like I totally dropped the ball missing the hermy flowers.

Since I need to sterilize all the pollen that is hiding in the tent, I’m planning to spray everything down with hydrogen peroxide/water mixture.

The two plants are much happier with the higher humidity needed for drying. Early morning they looked grouchy. A few hours with humidity in the fifties is much happier than mid thirties for flowering.

I mean I look at my plants and pistils and all but no every node strip search shit.
Even without a scrog I don't spin plants 100% to inspect.
Every grow I consider myself lucky.
Last growing trimming I was kind of hoping to see a seed fall from a few certain plants but it did not happen.
I will still be diligent when it comes time grind and smoke looking for the herm seed.
Back in the day it was gold, and if not for it today I would not have Tropicana Cherry~!

This is skywalker og that was chopped Thursday.

Unfortunately or maybe fortunately, it’s got a few seeds in it. However, it smells awesome. Occasionally it has a full chocolate smell to it.

I really can’t wait to taste it, but that’s going to be sometime in January 25.

Ugh, I ended up using an unknown soil when I uppotted.
That’s a freeking mistake.
I thought I might have killed them.

It took a flush and some babying to get them back looking decent.

I’m planning on doing a schwazze next Friday 1/3, then flipping them that night.

I have a net set in place, I’m hoping they remain healthy from now on.

This is when they were looking sickly.


This is as of this morning. Still looking puffy in a post flush condition, but significantly better than just a few days ago.

Doggone, it’s been 3 weeks since I have updated this winter grow, fortunately, these are such resilient plants that they have grown pretty well, almost on their own.

So, I have green crack on the left and apple gelato on the right.

Both are badly in need of a defoliation event which is still 7 days away.

Next Saturday, presuming I survive this plague (I think I have already died twice from it), I’ll be heading east to the foothills, schwazze these two beauties and flip them into flower mode.

When I started feeling poorly, I worried that they might not survive if I was sick for more than a couple days, I dropped the lung room temperature into the lower sixties to slow down all function because at the rate they were growing, they would outgrow their environment and probably dry out too badly.

I think the plan worked well, I hope they exit the suspended animation as well as they survive it.

I’m excited to see the change over it makes when Schwazzed and flipped. Currently, it has a lot of cola points, I’m hoping they both go nuts with growth points and it just creates a bud jungle in there!

Keep all extremities safely inside the moving vehicle and no standing up during the ride.

Buckle up, everyone (Green Crack and Apple Gelato) got a schwazze, a good meal (430 ppm at 6.5 PH) and flipped to a 12:12 light schedule.

Considering how badly I have ignored them (sick 3.5 weeks), they look great.

I took a lot of mass away, I’m hoping they stretch out nicely but not too high on any one node.

Right now I have an 24 to 30 inches to the light, but I prefer they stretch laterally rather than vertically.

I need to keep an eye out on feeding requirement differences between these two.

It appears to me that Apple Gelato might want just a little more N leading into flip. It’s just a little lighter in color than Green Crack. I think I have the feed proper for Green Crack, it‘s got a really rich green but not too dark.

I’ll re-evaluate at next watering, I was planning to give plain water with enzymes. But if Apple Gelato appears to need more N, I’ll probably mix a special for that plant and give Green Crack the enzymes.

No complaints at the current rate of growth, Apple is slightly larger so what ever it’s missing in N, it’s not slowing down much. Both were significantly bigger than they were last time I saw them (1/8/25). My GF watered them twice in my absence but they went without my engaging commentary for two and a half weeks! Poor babies, they loved it!

Two full nights of 12 hours in the dark, I think they were ready.

Apple Gelato, on the right side is already pushing out pistils.

Green Crack on the left is showing that, “I’m about to stretch” color on the growth points.

I’m thinking it’s about to get thicker in here pretty quickly.

Their color isn’t as pale as the pics look, my light is very heavy on yellow and it really tricks the white balance of the camera. When viewed in natural sunlight, they look mahvelous (old billy crystal reference).

I’m happy with what I see, but I need to keep up with them as they transition from vegetation to fruit mode.

I dropped the scrog net a few inches to begin redirecting tip growth, hoping this helps contains vertical expansion.

Plants both look good and healthy, end of week one after flip. No buds showing yet but some individual stigmas popping out of Apple Gelato.

Not counting flower weeks yet.

Two weeks after 12:12 flip, the plants have more than doubled their footprint with only a little vertical growth.

The plant on the right is Apple Gelato with two week old buds, on the left is Green Crack with slightly smaller buds.

Color is great, the plants look healthy and happy.

I did a medium-light defoliation of both plants’ undercarriages.
There were a lot of shaded large leaves and a bunch of unlit growth points.
Everything I can reach that is firmly below the net, hit the garbage bin.

There are about 12 solid growth points (colas?) on the Green Crack, probably 24 or more on the Apple Gelato. Both plants look robust and quick growing, Apple Gelato seems like it’s an animal, very dense growth both above and below the net.

AG is bigger, has mostly five finger leaves with much longer center leaflets.

GC has many 7 finger leaves, some 9s were striped of a couple days ago. The leaves are also more symmetrical in shape.

I’d read a couple years ago, high CBD is associated with long center leaflets on fives. I don’t know if that’s true, but a high thc plant with a high cbd content would be awesome for me!

Both plants are growing rapidly and look very healthy. AG is probably twice as big as GC, and about a week ahead, based upon first stigma appearance.

Apple Gelato would be in mid week 3, Green Crack is mid week 2.

Aiming for a mid to late April harvest.

Neither plant shows trichomes yet but AG has a sheen to it making me think it’s about to explode with sugar.

I lightly defoliated both undersides a couple days ago. Both plants have a good and noticeable aroma even without trichomes.

As I was defoliating the undersides, I immediately figured out why I didn’t see hermie flowers on earlier grows.
I can’t see that close up. Frigging mr. McGoo - I’m yelling “roadhog!” At oncoming traffic while I’m in the wrong lane!

The two Super Blue Dream clones were moved from 8 inch pots to 11 inch pots.

They were horribly root bound so this should be a welcome upgrade.

These clones are over 1 year old, just slow simmer waiting for spring. They started tossing yellow leaves recently so I figured they were ready for some new soil.

They are destined for 15 gallon pots, outside, starting in mid May. Yes, got a lot of time to go still.

Both approaching week 3 since 12/12, Green crack is about week 1.5 with actual flowers showing, Apple Gelato is about week 2.5.

They are getting thick, need to thin them out some more, don‘t know where to start, so it’ll probably just be occasional leaf removal!

Both plants are growing at an amazing pace.
They will be three weeks from flip tomorrow.

Both are showing the first signs of trichomes. Green Crack was just beginning to show buds a week ago and now showing sugar.

They are probably near the end of the stretch, but still look different every morning.

These are happy plants with amazing genetics.

Green crack is significantly more sugary than the Apple Gelato, which surprises me as the AG is supposed to run up to 35% THC. At 17% to 25%, GC is showing some really good frost already.

The entire lung room is smelly, but I can’t detect a specific aroma. It must be a mix of both plants. But considering it’s leaking out into the lung room make me think it’s powerful.

My super blue dream is similar, it’s not a knock out punch, but it’s a heck of wonderful buzz, absolutely 0 sugar.
I’ve been using a brand new grinder with this stuff for about 2 months, there’s about 19 trichomes laying in the bottom. Just no kief from this one.

Night time photos and two after lights on.
Just flipped 31 days ago. They are bulking up well.

Daytime temperatures nudged into the low 80s for an hour or two in the afternoon, otherwise remaining in upper 70s during lights on and mid sixties after lights off.

RH is in the low fifties during lights off, dropping to the low forties during lights on.
