Holy smokes, talk about whiplash!
Last monday we had 107 degrees and RH in the single digits, this coming monday weāre being threatened with rain. Not sure yet if we will be in the bullseye, but I guess I better get a plan together to cover these things.
Three can be rolled under our patio cover, the tree might need a cover of some sort, or perhaps I just stand out there and shake the hell out of the buds during the rain!
Fall is certainly unpredictable!

Today is the beginning of week 7 of flower for all the outdoor plants.
Hairs are turning reddish on 3 of the 4 plants, they are all having a difficult time keeping their āheadsā up!
A little breeze and the huge budded tops start swaying like a metronome.
The temperatures are moderating for the coming week, with the threat of raindrops on Monday and Wednesday.
Trichomes on the sugar leaves have already begun to turn amber, but the bud trichs are still clear and white.
Overnight temps are remaining in the mid fifties, with a chance of low fifties on Tuesday morning.

My daughter asked me to compare how big the tree is. Itās probably about the mass of all the plants Iāve grown, combined up until this grow.
Itās nuts feeling dwarfed by a weed.
Iām almost afraid to harvest it.

A couple more weeks on the big one and skunk, probably 3 to 4 weeks on sativa.

Well my two sativa ladies got fried. I think I miss measured kool bloom and completely fried them.
They received plain water for the last week but they are history.
Iām going to dry whatever has mass to it and learn that lesson the hard way.
Skunk looks yellow and itās drying out too. Itās going to meet the blade later this week.
Blue (super blue dream) has been putting up more white hair so itās probably going to go more than 10. Today is its first day in week 9 so Iāll keep an eye on it.

Early morning update, in the ninth week for blue and skunk.
I think skunk is done. Every fan is either yellow or dry and crispy brown.
Itās still nice and green in the buds but fans are saying, Iām done.
Blue looks strong and happy. Pistils are still mostly white but turning quickly. Trichomes look to be about half and half clear to white.

I think you are going to really going to like this grow.
You can let the skunk go a few more days or so if you think it will bulk up.
Look at sugar leaves and buds now, not the fans. They all need to go anyways.
Worry less, I think you are still all good. Just don't let the plant dry up in the sun.
No harm if you cut now for your comfort.
The plant will do things when it knows it is dying that some say are 'good' for people like you and me.
I come from the no stress grow. No stress for me and proper stress for the plant.

Iām planning to cut skunk wednesday evening, itāll hang a couple days here in copper, then move to the Bay Area for a dry and cure.I think you are going to really going to like this grow.

Cannabis is funny man. Really, I believe it's sole intent in life is to reproduce. Like from the get go it's intent is to get pregnant and produce seeds.
It plays right into our hands because we want the flowers. So all we have to do is get it past infancy and let that insatiable need to reproduce take over. Gotta keep her happy and healthy of course but once flipped, they go into something of a panic.
They're gonna do everything they can to be the best they can be and reproduce. If they're small they're gonna try to get as big as possible in a hurry.
Then we trick them by not letting them get pollinated and even more panic sets in. They turn it on late, swell up, then realize pollination is not gonna happen and begin to die.
That is all I believe that matters most. Everything else is just window dressing.
Managing that life cycle starts to fall into categories of logic and common sense. If what we're doing exploits that need to reproduce, she rewards us with bounty!

I think I will get some good stuff from all 3 now.
Expected nothing.

Rapidly approaching end of week 9.
Iām amazed at the significant number of white pistils which continue to pop out.
The colas, I stopped counting at 25, are about 4 to 5 inches wide at the base and a solid 3 inches for the entire length.
Early morning it smells like rotten fruit, but by midday it smells like blueberry muffins.
I think itās going to make it to 11 weeks. Because skunk and the sativa sisters still have to be trimmed this week.
Gonna be busy.

Well, I had to make a cataclysmic (hyperbole) decision!
I found caterpillars, more than I was comfortable with.
I was going to spray spinosad, but I am right at the end of 9 weeks.
Many white trichs, some amber, some clear. Seems like they donāt all agree!
Anyway. Iām not a fan of putting stuff on my weed, so I chopped and did a water/peroxide rinse, followed by a water rinse..
I wanted to go one more week, but the thought of a caterpillar with a big hookah chomping on my buds just bothered me.
Here is our tap water here!

This is a rare occurrence for me, usually Iām just running out of a plant as its finishing up curing.you got weed everywhere!!!!!
This could be interpreted as I havenāt have big grows in the past, I have absolutely no patience or a combination of both.
Iām really tying to exercise some patience on this grow.
Iām hoping the cured end product has the same blueberry muffin aroma.

Been 17 days since harvest. Things didnāt go great for a while. We had a hellacious couple weeks, even in the Bay Area it was crazy hot and dry.
The sativa looks bad, tastes good, but has a while to cure yet. Itās earlier siblings didnāt hit their taste and smell azimuth until they were a couple months in cure. But they got REALLY good.
The skunk #1 was the first of this harvest that was smokable. Itās raunchy stinky but smooth and knock me out strong. Not that itās pure fire, itās actually not tremendously strong, but the terps seems to really kick in.
The last one, Super Blue Dream, it was the tree, I filled 2 - 1 lb. Terp. Bags and a 2 qt. Jar. They smelled like fresh grass for far too long. I thought that maybe I had saved the wrong stuff! Then, this morning I open a bag and sniff some blueberry muffins. ITāS BAAAAAAAACK!
The buds have the greatest smell, itās all sweet, but dagnabbed it smells awesome.
Ground up a bud this morning, excellent taste and aroma. A good buzz, not going to knock me out, but a good happy feeling. Iām looking forward to a couple more weeks of cure, but itās good to go now!

A late grow nutrient mishap and hellish temperatures made for some really ugly buds.
Smell is subtle but definitely lemony.
The aroma carries on in the flavor, but ends with a peppery punch. Iām hoping that mellows with further curing.
The buzz is amazing. Last night I powered down a couple huge hits immediately followed by a couple more rips of skunk #1.
It was nearly psychedelic. Open and closed eye visuals and mind set of pure wonderment.
It lasted about 15 minutes then melted into a strong calm feeling.
This morning I burned just the sativa by itself. Great CBG buzz. Pure happiness and lots of energy. Chore day weed.
Iām inclined to call it super lemon haze, but Iāve no way to find out. Weed came from a friend of a friend, 4 years ago. It gets the right feeling going.
