Hey everyone! So after a week in Vancouver, I came back to a significant issue. Most plants are turning light green and purple woody stems. I did research and understand it may be a CAL/P issue but what do you suggest for next steps to rectify? I just ran straight 5.8 pH water through a few of them and the runoff was 600 ppm 1.2, EC 5.8 PH. Environment is at 78 Degrees 58% Humidity. I wanted to flip to 12/12 this week, so really bad timing.

I appreciate any and all thoughts and recommendations.

How big are your pots? What is the watering schedule? What ppfd is the light on?

From what you are describing I do not see what might be going wrong.

Sorry. Growing in straight CannaCoco using 1/4 Strength Nutes, supplementing with 4 ml/g calmag, mr. Fulvic, and power Si. All fed thru blumats.
First off the plants appear to be locked out and not eating. Your Calcium to P ratio is off and more than likely the high calcium is not allowing the plant to up take P. If you are not getting any run off with your irrigation system that is also a problem. You need run off with coco to prevent salt build up.
Fix
Flush with 3 times the container size of just RO water. Water in 1/2 PPM feed and do not add any cal mag or Fulvic. Turn the lights down to half current power. I do not believe you can flower this weekend

Thanks Anthem! These are on blumats, which are gravity fed drippers. This why I’m running 1/4 strength nutes, to prevent buildup. My guess is my lights are at 400-500 PPFD, but will check again tomorrow. I may have hit the CalMag too hard on the last few res changes, causing P to lock out.

There is a giant Blumat thread on icmag. It seems like they can work well - but don't always. You tested runoff at 1.2 EC, right? What EC are you feeding? What EC is quarter strength?

From what I understand the runoff in coco is what gives me space to make mistakes in terms of feeding and keep EC / PH from escalating because it self corrects to the extent that I have runoff. The less runoff the more the effect of over or under-feeding will show up in the plants. If there is a small amount of salt buildup and no runoff, the buildup will keep accumulating...

I see the attractiveness of the simplicity with blumats. Unfortunately it seems like there are reasons they have not completely taken over. That is my current understanding. I look forward to seeing how you get on.

Mine are already starting to show a turnaround and new growth is green again. @Anthem275 or anyone else, understanding I want to flip to flower in the next week or two, when, if at all would you reintroduce Calmag? If you would, at what dose and frequency? I don’t want to go back into lockout.

what are you using for nutrients? Brand and series

He’s running canna coco bud.

I understand you are using Canna for Coco. That is a good line and I would assume they are adding additional Cal Mag over a straight for soil nutrient line. This further leans your problem to being an excess of Cal. I would probably wait until you see the leaves praying to the lights before I would start thinking about switching to flower after the plants are praying. Once they are praying go ahead and add 1 extra mill of Cal mag per gallon. If they like it you can increase it to 2 mills but that is it.

Awesome. Half the tent was praying this morning. Will wait for full on prayer before adding back. Thank you Anthem!
