Hey I hear you, I'm 73 started smoking in 1967 -68 watching my plants grow, playing with my cats and the occasional Dr. appointment is our life now and I think we're happier because of it. Few distractions to stress us out, the hermits life is all we want now sad as that may be.Think i may add a few things to my soils
1. rinsed chunky perlite or something similar for drainage
2. top dress woodchips and or inert medium to avoid fungus i love your nose gnats
If jj's chems are any clue ill need to find a stronger way to robustly keep the medium pumped from weeks 2-6....the orig medium needs to be buffered WAY more then i was. Here we go again with my graph, sorry guys. I try to feed and light like this graph, up as feed goes up and down as feed goes down.

An old pro grower told me my burnt tips on my leaves were not necessarily too much feed, it could have been not enough light.......When food and light are balanced you don't get the burnt tips. So as I increase my food I increase my light, same way on back end as you drop your food, drop your light.
I wanna focus on trying to make a booster compost that makes week2-7 in flower not struggle to keep up nutes wise, I should add this is ENTIRELY me not making an attempt to be proactive in my mediums...i was in a fill jars quick mode(my wife) to keep the folks happy....Now that she has those big bodhi hashplant nugs to poke at for awhile i can focus on my area being dialed in mediums wise.Hey I hear you, I'm 73 started smoking in 1967 -68 watching my plants grow, playing with my cats and the occasional Dr. appointment is our life now and I think we're happier because of it. I add a few items to my soil mix, Azomite,or Wollsonite, Gypsum, Yucca powder, Myco's Worm Castings, Perlite . With this mix I don't need much feed in veg for the fist month
I use a promix type soil mixed about 60/40 with perlite. and my other goodies which is basically an organic start. The mix has a small starter charge and with the worm Castings and minerals I add I'm good for about 1 month. My feed being synthetic doesn't meld well with organics so I'm not adding anything other than perlite to my soil in the final pot.I wanna focus on trying to make a booster compost that makes week2-7 in flower not struggle to keep up nutes wise, I should add this is ENTIRELY me not making an attempt to be proactive in my mediums...i was in a fill jars quick mode(my wife) to keep the folks happy....Now that she has those big bodhi hashplant nugs to poke at for awhile i can focus on my area being dialed in mediums wise.
Some use straw over the soil rather than wood chips.Think i may add a few things to my soils

Do you start with a store bought soil that’s buffered? SSM#4 or ProMix? Otherwise pick up some dolomite lime. A little goes a long way.If jj's chems are any clue ill need to find a stronger way to robustly keep the medium pumped from weeks 2-6....the orig medium needs to be buffered WAY more then i was.
The farmers i used to work for would let the manure sit for like 5 yrs if memory serves and that stuff never failed! Think im gonna try the KNF feeds as long as i dont throw things out of whack. The stove and the wood are from my godfathers house.Nice pine wood work and stove.
Center mass chimney is smart old school building.
The more people I meet the more I like miss my dogs and try to befriend my cat.
I am 60 and the world is not how I thought it would be.
The top 3 post in the soil forum have great info on amending your soil in a couple different ways.
Here you go.
Subcool super soil mix.
Figured this would be good to post up until we see if shaded makes it over with his Gaia Green write up. This is the original version of subcools super soil published to high times magazine. You are supposed to mix this soil 1 month in advance of using. It is intended to be a water only mix...budbuilders.org

This makes me giggle because isnt UV-a what tanning beds use? So UV-b would be for the tent! I wanna get as good smelling jars of cured flowers like i was with smelling burning firewood and being able to tell the species from the smell!I rarely have much laying around in jars, except for personal use. I'm more commercial than most of the people on here, so I approach everything a bit differently. Curing will definitely bring out more smell in most buds, and make the smoke taste and smoke better.
Most important is to understand the UV bulbs are dangerous to your skin and you should not be in the room while they are on.........
I source from a massive pile at a donkey farm thats patrolled by chickens......but also takes in restaurants scraps to mold up and make good for root bounders! They do sell it to folks in burlaps. It has enough nutes in it to run till the container is full of roots then its time to feed. I was just being lazy/ stressing my plants while go through midlife in a progressive area trying to stay chill lmaopDo you start with a store bought soil that’s buffered? SSM#4 or ProMix? Know clove hitch knot before i had hair down there.........Family did slate roofs here and they still stand strong multiple decades later. Makes me kinda nauseous that what you say is so pervasive.I am an old roofer. Used to do 50-hour weeks whenever possible. Now we stick to 40.
People of all ages just don't want to work anymore.
My job is far from glamorous but pays well.
Ask someone if they want to roof and they all say no way.
Ask them if they would like to make my annual salary and they all hate me~!
I have never told anyone I know outside of work that they should be a roofer.
I don't think many of my friends really could eat shit like I do and would lose their shit in under 1 month anytime of the year.
It's a marathon not a sprint.
There's a lot of stipulations on this. The first being that you're not eligible if you make over 100k. Second, you still pay taxes on the regular time side of the OT so only the .5 is exempt. Third, there's a cap at like 10 or 15k worth of deductible OT wages. So if the overtime coming back in taxes rings true i should be close to the cap
It may be my seat in the middle of the bus but it does not look good out my window.Makes me kinda nauseous that what you say is so pervasive.
