It's about weed growing and weed growing accessories I tell you what!

Happy (late) Birthday! Hope your day was great and that carries forward into the coming week, month, year...

Thanks Buddy!
Every day is a blessing and a reason to smile.
Time to roll one and walk the dogs. When a day starts off with that, it's hard to ruin it no matter who or what tries to do so!

Pedal to the metal bud…👍

Hahaha that's cool man! Thanks for that!

One thing about it is I get to join the cool kids club now.
My wife's been watching me rebuild/repair my 3D printer and having issue after issue with it. IDK why but it decided it wants to hate me now.
It works great for like 10 minutes then fails a print. Just one issue after another. I've been complaining about it but not saying I wanted a new one, just trying to fix this thing and parts are getting scarce in the USA, forcing me to shop from China and pay $80 shipping and tariff fees on a $40 part.
Didn't matter, wife had a plan.
Now this will be delivered today!

Screenshot 2025-09-15 100429.jpg

She just got the printer but there's another addition I can add to make it hold 4 spools and print different colors at the same time for multicolor prints.
I think build size is around the same as my Creality, 11x11x11 and I think this one prints much faster.
May not get to set it up until next Sunday but I'm pretty excited about getting a new 3D printer

Happy Special......

See alot of this up here...

Cuz it's from the lone star....I won't rag on the brush guard... trying to be a power wagon...

Happy day..¿;gr

you should see they have "texas" edition trucks there.. they have their own badges on them and everything!!! not sure whats in the kit.. probably a heavy duty AC and a bigger trans cooler!! hehehe

That metallic makes it look ghostly?

Looks cool man

it turned out nice man, no runs or masking bleed at all!! i got lucky!! i almost went with the color change flip flop paint.. i'm gonna pick up another body when they have a big sale, i'll go flip flop on that one!!!

Did you just ask a pot grower, who just bought a greenhouse, what are you going to grow in there? ;smoke

hahahaha yeah i did... well hey if you only grew weed i would never ask... for all i know you picked up a couple orange trees to make your own juice!!! hahaha

hat was some really good and fun racing all night!
Now I get it with Bristol.
We got home around 11pm last night. Didn't watch it at work so waited until we got home to turn it on. Exciting from green to checker!!

Back to back wins in the pool Buddy! -10 again!!!!

i really like TMS and Michigan a lot man, but there's just something awesome about short track racing that just gets my juices flowing!!!! and bristol night race is king!!!! seeing a race there is so incredible man... you sit at the same angle as the cars so you kind of look through the cars instead of down on top.. i am so freakin happy they ditched the dirt race there!!!!!!

man i almost missed check in on saturday night.. i was behind on dvr about 100 laps and with 100 to go i went oh snap i almost forgot, i clicked on my phone and there were only 7 laps left!!!! close one!!!

Thanks Brother!
Yep yesterday marked my 52nd trip around the Sun and for being a working b-day, had a wonderful day!
The football game....uugh. Man we need to get better on offense in a hurry but at least it's a win.
Kids ambushed me with a Happy Birthday song after the game and got my wife all misty eyed. This genZ man I tell ya. Don't care much for millennial or boomer shit and IDK why but I find peace in this relationship between X and Z or at least the ones I deal with.
Today, I'm gonna cash in on some free food or discounts and maybe a coupon for the head shop but IDK. Glass here is so expensive now even with a coupon. Like a cool glass topper for my Pivot starts at $125. Ordered one from Canada for only $60 but have to wait until next week for it to get here.

Wasn't expecting this beauty until next week either but it was on my doorstep yesterday thanks to Diecast Santa coming early!

very sweet man, glad to hear work went smooth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Buddy!

Always nice when the wifey surprises us!

Welcome to Bambu Labs 🤣

Now I can steal your prints with little to no changes. 😝

I haven’t used it in months but picked up a spool of petg and petg-cf the other day when I took my son to the computer store.

First print was last night. Should be done by 5am. IMG_6364.jpeg

He’s got a bunch of extra/spare parts now like the rubber(?) boot that goes over the nozzle.

Best of luck with the new toy. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

We printed the four spool holder but had to buy the feed motors. Cheaper to print it. Now there is an updated version you can print.

Fix one thing for another to break, prints great for 10-15 minutes and then fails. Im super happy with my Elegoo centauri carbon, I just wish it had the multi feed capability.

I think it's the same printer. There's the A1 and A1 mini. Mini is a 10x10x10 build volume.
If you need any parts off my Max Neo lemme know.
If not, it will be recycled rather soon.

Man, those Texas branded trucks are cringe around here. I'm thinking you guys are probably seeing King Ranch F150s?
Sorry if I offend anybody with this take, but those trucks are for the carpetbaggers and fake ass cowboys & politicians. Like I fully expect somebody like Ted Cruz to be driving one of those things around Houston.
One thing that sucks about Texas are the stereotypes so when people come here to live they do the following things to fit in:
Buy and wear a cowboy hat in the city. Real cowboys wear baseball style hats unless they're on a horse. Other exception is being in the desert.
Women will buy and wear cowboy boots with skirts & dresses. Don't do this ladies. It looks like the floods came and you had to run and the only thing you had time to grab were the boots. Wear cowboy boots with jeans.
The truck and this is the tricky one because you have to decide...Are you a cowboy or tech bro. If unsure, have you listened to Joe Rogan lately? If the answer is yes, Cybertruck, Rivian, or Jeep Gladiator. No? King Ranch F150. If you're Hispanic, Chevy Silverado preferably with an airbrush mural of that same Silverado on the tailgate. 3rd option is lifted Ram with wheel lights, chassis lights, roll bar & brush guards with lights, and not a spec of dirt. Even better is when Ram guys change the letters around to read WAR. Look under the rear and that's who also has truck nuts hanging from the hitch.
It's weird and truck culture in Texas overall is weird.

But gotta admit, I kinda wanna do the same thing as ram guy with my Tacoma but drop some letters and just make it say Taco. ;hookah

It was a nice weekend for collecting points!!!

Screenshot 2025-09-16 092221.jpg

I'm still on every streak except for Cup and crossed over the 10K mark. 10,115 as of this morning.

I'm starting to sort my favorite tracks and some are for the racing and some for the city or area.
COTA and Watkins Glen are top in RC
I really like Atlanta, Homestead Miami, and Darlington.
Kansas, Michigan, Vegas, and Nashville are kinda in the same bracket for me.
Texas is just pure all out baddass speed. I've never seen cars go as fast as I have there. That area is considered it's own city within Fort Worth and it's called No Limits, Texas. That speed on track lives up to that name.
Bristol and Martinsville are really growing on me and becoming faves. I also like them because you like them!
Seriously as I try to understand racing there's some tracks I was like "whatever" with all the nostalgia but after a while I was like "I don't really get it but if Y'all like it and are happy then I'm happy too." And I just try to get it then like Saturday night I was like "Oh yeah, so now I get it!"
Richmond is meh along with Sonoma. I really wanna like Richmond but damn boring racing and half empty seats would have me find another track if I was NASCAR. Sure enough, Richmond lost a race. Now there's regret. IDC, as long as there's racing at COTA, my butt will be there because I want that race to stay here!
Dega and Daytona are cool for the venue but the racing is a slow burn until the end with the Big Ones peppered in to keep it on the edge and crazy dangerous. Not my fave but not the worst. The worst would have to be The Clash in LA.
Street races are just one off cool IMO. As long as it's a cool city and they make it a racing festival I have no complaints. More fans the better and those races get new fans.

Yeah I was just breaking your ball on the greenhouse.
Decent rig for a Miracle Grow!
I'll use it for growing weed but will also use it for Winter protection for some special plants and starts I have growing for the landscape.

Is this what your slicer looks like?

Screenshot 2025-09-17 070159.jpg

I was pretty high when I uploaded it and after I moved a project over to it, between the THC and my ADHD, my brain shut down and said nope, not right now.
It's far more advanced than my creality slicer but I'm clear headed right now and am able to figure some of it out. Still fucking with my ADHD but I'm getting thru it. Just takes time.

I'd say 90% of my projects are from nothing since they don't exist so I have to create them then move to a slicer.
That project is a turnbuckle for an adjustable trellis.
I haven't even looked at the other stuff from the Bambu program.
Doesn't take much for me to get information overload with this stuff and make it harder than it should be.
IDK if I coulda started with the bambu. It's like I needed the Tina2 kid printer for my initiation, creality to know what I was doing, and now the bambu to fully unlock the potential. ADHD has fought me every single step of the way

Wife did real good.
I had about 4 options I was looking at but I let her know the Bambu was ahead of the Prusa and both were ahead of another that was really wild and had so many features but I was concerned it would be another that died too soon. Prusa was the same price but only a 7x7x7 build volume.
I thought I was destined for the A1 mini but she splurged on the bigger one.
I'm not even gonna try to make this thing and will just ask for it around Xmas lol. I think it's a $360 upgrade in the USA and that's like the price of a whole other printer!

Fix one thing for another to break, prints great for 10-15 minutes and then fails. Im super happy with my Elegoo centauri carbon, I just wish it had the multi feed capability.

Sometimes I wonder if there is a virus or malware in my creality giving it a self destruct option.
I've seen others on reddit where it seems to be a thing nobody can figure out.
Also looks like Creality is #1 in dumpster find printers. Lots of "I found this printer, what is it?" threads and the first thing I see is a creality logo. Like they have a 3 year life span and give up.
Some issues just didn't make sense.
I pretty much Dr. Frankenstein'ed the entire hot end to get it working. I feel like it's something small but there's been some times I think it's the motherboard.
Oh and the extruder. I think it's shot too IDK. I get the sense it was made to fail so I have to buy the Sprite upgrade which also requires an upgrade to the motherboard. It's like either go down this rabbit hole of buying parts or bail and get into a different brand, hopefully more reliable on the long run

Not the best color but the best choice for what they had in stock.

Elegoo and Sunlu are the best so far.

I use PETG the most so that's goo to know.
Creality got an E for effort on prints with threads but they never came out clean and perfect but usable most times.

If you need any parts off my Max Neo lemme know.
If not, it will be recycled rather soon.

nah man, i don't think there's a single interchangeable part.. our extruders, hot ends, belts, drives are all different.

i've been biting my tongue because i don't want to jinx myself but my printer has been working flawlessly for a long time now. i've been wiping down the print bed once in while and thats about it.

But gotta admit, I kinda wanna do the same thing as ram guy with my Tacoma but drop some letters and just make it say Taco. ;hookah

i had a dodge back in the day and somebody rearranged the letters to say dog!!! hahaha

i try not to hurt anyone's feelers but i've been to texas many times and honestly there are only two things there i like.. you and BBQ!! i never met a cowboy. like anywhere.. not sure even they still exist. maybe just called tough ranchers now, stories of a cowboy went away generations ago.

'm still on every streak except for Cup and crossed over the 10K mark. 10,115 as of this morning.

yea i figured you didn't get the bonus for the 30x a few weeks ago.. i'm ridin in a 9288!! a lot more than last year!!

Capture.JPG
i'm not sure i'll even get any bonus at all for the fantasy... there's not enough weeks left. i couldn't have missed a week at a worse time!!

'm starting to sort my favorite tracks and some are for the racing and some for the city or area.

i was to TMS in 07.. that was ricky rudd's last season.. went to texas and richmond that year. richmond was a night race, thats the only way to see a race there.. i wen to a day race there and did not enjoy it nearly as much. tough to see everything there though. dover is probably the best track to see all a race, almost not a single bad seat in the house!

TMS and who is it that are the same but are mirrored to each other?? michigan maybe? one of the tracks is an exact flip of texas, same banking and radius corners, just the straight away and pits are on the other side. i've never been to michigan track.

right now the two that i would love to see the most is your home track cota and the remodeled roval.. i've been to the oval twice but i'd like to see that infield raced on!! even though road races are probably the worse kind of tracks to see a race at those are the two i'd want to see the most right now,

Yeah I was just breaking your ball on the greenhouse.
Decent rig for a Miracle Grow!
I'll use it for growing weed but will also use it for Winter protection for some special plants and starts I have growing for the landscape.

that thing looks adaptable enough that you could set it over top of plants in jiffy for storms or nosy eyes.

Sometimes I wonder if there is a virus or malware in my creality giving it a self destruct option.

i know youre probably gonna ditch it but if it is the software you're concerned about you can just download it right from creality.. there's probably a bunch of updates for your printer if you've never done that. i've even used a third party software on my [rinter a bunch of times. and can easily go right back to the creality stuff. sometimes they changed stuff from each program so i like to keep them in case i want to go back. for example i know it's silly but it still different one version will heat up completely and then home. other version will heat up the bed then home then heat up the nozzle. i also use different version of the creality print programs, i know you always used their slicer but i always hated that program so i've used creality print instead. i looks similar to that bamboo software, from what i understand is they're both modeled off of another famous slice that is well liked. i can't remember the name but i read it once back when i first got mine.

if you're interested in trying to update the creality software let me know i'll send ya the links and you just dump the folder on a clean sd card and turn the power on.. it's that simple.

might be worth a try if you think the firmware has a gremlin..

My last adventure had me exhaust all of my supplies from seeds to soils to nutes.
Kinda fun shopping for that stuff restocking and trying to make good choices.
Seeds and soils are probably most difficult for me to get quality at a good price.

To start off, I have some known female seeds from bagseed. Couple trop cherry from Stoney and some other stuff off the rolling tray.
Kind of seeds where you never saw a hermie during the grow but you crumble a bud to roll a doob and a seed falls out. Well I have about a dozen of those from unknown strains.

I also shopped local for seeds. Big believer in shopping local when I can. His selection is Crop King, Ethos, Equilibrium, Fast Buds, and a few others.
I chose Ethos MC Nuggets from the local. It's from the Wrank family in the Ethos universe and being super impressed with Wrank R1, went for it's sister cut.
Ethos can be hit or miss though. I haven't had a whole pack from Ethos get to 100% germ rates yet so I have other brands locked and loaded as well.

View attachment 110004

For my online source I went with Growers Choice. Always had good luck and results from them.
They go a little bonkers with all the free swag. Plant labels are pretty cool though and never seen that from a seed bank.
Not sure who the breeders are and TBH, DGAF. Just looking for good pot without any drama and this seems like just as good of guess as any.
Very much dispo grade but we'll see if equipment and skill can maybe get something great out of them.
I also plan on continuing my quest to grow Vietnamese sativas indoors. That shit has gotten personal now

View attachment 110005

Soil shopping has been a fucking nightmare. Well maybe not that bad but frustrating.
Fox Farm is in abundance at great pricing as well as Roots Original but both are middle of the pack grade and quality.
I like super soils and I'm too lazy to make my own most days but now I'm kinda forced into it if I want that black gold.
Like fucking Tyrone Biggums out here trying to get my hands on some dirt!

View attachment 110008

I have two 3cuft bags of Roots 707 en route but have also stocked up this little hoarder supply

View attachment 109990

From Fox farm I have some Happy Frog and Cream of the Crop coco/perlite.
Organic Mechanics is in with their 110 Blend. This should be a just add water type soil.
Coast of Maine is in with the lobster and crab compost as well as a sack of worm castings and bricks of coco chunks which need to be hydrated and triple rinsed before I can add them to any mix.
The compost and castings will be the tea I feed to these ladies. Along with that but not shown....crab meal, yucca extract, and Great White also go in the tea.

My plan is to use compost teas for the whole feeding routine but this is 'Murica and I like to dabble so I'll try to do some more things bridging hydro and organics together.
Wasn't sure which direction to go here. Been a very long time since I've shopped for hydro nutes and TBH, shit is fucking weird now.

I went with Fox Farm Cultivation Nation from HTG. Several reasons for that being I could fucking recognize it as nutes and the price was insanely reasonable getting gallon size jugs at quart prices, quarts at pint prices, and $20 to get it all shipped to my door.
IDK if HTG is going out of business but they damn sure have some going out of business pricing happening.

Lights are the same as previous grows...Two AC Infinity and one CLW up top. UV too.
Enviornment is all AC Infinity AI Ecosystem controlling 8 air movers, 2 inlines, 2 lights, and monitors soil moisture.
Pulse Pro monitors PPFD & CO2 and everything in between. Not needed but nice device to have handy.
Hydrofarm Autopilot pH doser manages the 50 gallon filtered tap water supply.
Other additions are stuff like hydraulic tables, orbital fan, wall mount fan, AC, heater, and a ceiling fan.
Pest control/prevention is keeping things clean, orange oil as cleaner and barrier, pyrethrum bombs for infestations. 3D printed DIY yellow sticky traps if needed.

So that's pretty much the plan for this 2025/26 year in growing dang ol, weed, Yo!
Yeah they do have some decent prices, but they gouge you with shipping fees and Amazon still rings in cheaper on most products.

Not the best color but the best choice for what they had in stock.

Although the PETG is better I’m still having trouble working with it. It’s stronger but more brittle.

I had the chassis all done and assembled. Hand guard glued on and everything transferred over. I was tightening the buttstock tube but went one twist too many. 🤦77980639727__CEACC84B-CD64-41F4-B46D-3CD5ACEE3518.jpeg

So I put everything back on the PLA+ prototype. I wasn’t digging the brown color anyway. I’ll try again one day when I see a proper FDE or similar color PETG for sale.

He got what looks like a 12 pack in a plastic case. Must be a high ware part?

Is this what your slicer looks like?

Yes and no. Yes it looks the same but no I haven’t used it. He just got a new Asus laptop. ROG or TUFF like I used to use. It will be a long while before I’ll be allowed to touch it unless he has a problem he needs me to fix. Lol

Currently I send him links to what I want and he prints it. I’ve got the app on the phone I’ve used a few times to print DL files but I haven’t used any tools to modify things yet.

I was pretty high when I uploaded it and after I moved a project over to it, between the THC and my ADHD, my brain shut down and said nope, not right now.
ADHD/ADD helped me in IT. My problem was moving on to the next thing if the current project wasn’t perfect. Wasn’t a fan of “good enough” but I’m getting there. Sooo many rabbit hole in IT it kept my interest for decades.

It's far more advanced than my creality slicer but I'm clear headed right now and am able to figure some of it out. Still fucking with my ADHD but I'm getting thru it. Just takes time.
You probably know how to deal with your issues by now but chopping it up into smaller sessions that you can deal with one at a time might help. It’s easier if it’s for a real purpose and not just educational I think.

I’ve been feeling overwhelmed the last couple years trying to deal with issues logically but the people on the other end don’t want to cooperate, they want obedience and make it frustrating. I despise bullies.

IDK if I coulda started with the bambu. It's like I needed the Tina2 kid printer for my initiation, creality to know what I was doing, and now the bambu to fully unlock the potential. ADHD has fought me every single step of the way
I found it makes things much easier but you have to be into it. I came from a drafting background and loved most tech. I can/could fix most car issues but that a chore. I’d buy a new device and if cool/interesting I’d take it apart and see how it works. Usually trying to see how it can be improved and modified.

Wife did real good.
They usually do. 👍

Nice. We have the A1. If you DL from Makerworld make sure to pick the A1 model files.

G$ and his FIL no longer like the Prusa. The final straw was a firmware update that screwed things up iirc.

I'm not even gonna try to make this thing and will just ask for it around Xmas lol. I think it's a $360 upgrade in the USA and that's like the price of a whole other printer!

View attachment 113976
I found another printable model my son liked. (It’s been updated to a better version he might print later, changes the motor positions.) You still need to buy the feed motors though.

IIRC people had issues with the version sold by Bambu, do a little research on that as it’s a pricey thing to get wrong and I haven’t poked deep into it.

That sucks but is common in tech. You either get left hanging with good hardware but little to no firmware support or it’s a one and done item that falls short of expectations and no amount of software patching can fix it.

Security cameras, hand held devices, even stuff like ACI accessories. If you don’t get a supported brand or trusted manufacturer it’s a gamble at best.

Since 2000 it looks like things have finally given up on making a long lasting device or equipment. 5-10 years is usually the best you can hope for now. Buy once, cry once no longer means it’s an heirloom item.

I use PETG the most so that's good to know.
Nice, I’ve only used it for a few things where light, water and/or chemicals could be an issue.

Creality got an E for effort on prints with threads but they never came out clean and perfect but usable most times.
Most of my prints are PLA+ atm. Lots of thread issues. Webbing, needs supports, peel off, that sort of thing. The Sunlu PETG only had small tree supports, I call bushes, and that above pic was just after I broke them off, no extra cleaning. Best looking threads so far. Also no cleaning or threading on/off a few times like I had to do with the PLA+. It was a nice bonus. Just don’t give it that last 1/4” twist at the end…no give, it just cracks when too much stress. 🤦

nah man, i don't think there's a single interchangeable part.. our extruders, hot ends, belts, drives are all different.

i've been biting my tongue because i don't want to jinx myself but my printer has been working flawlessly for a long time now. i've been wiping down the print bed once in while and thats about it.

i had a dodge back in the day and somebody rearranged the letters to say dog!!! hahaha

i try not to hurt anyone's feelers but i've been to texas many times and honestly there are only two things there i like.. you and BBQ!! i never met a cowboy. like anywhere.. not sure even they still exist. maybe just called tough ranchers now, stories of a cowboy went away generations ago.

yea i figured you didn't get the bonus for the 30x a few weeks ago.. i'm ridin in a 9288!! a lot more than last year!!

View attachment 114066
i'm not sure i'll even get any bonus at all for the fantasy... there's not enough weeks left. i couldn't have missed a week at a worse time!!

i was to TMS in 07.. that was ricky rudd's last season.. went to texas and richmond that year. richmond was a night race, thats the only way to see a race there.. i wen to a day race there and did not enjoy it nearly as much. tough to see everything there though. dover is probably the best track to see all a race, almost not a single bad seat in the house!

TMS and who is it that are the same but are mirrored to each other?? michigan maybe? one of the tracks is an exact flip of texas, same banking and radius corners, just the straight away and pits are on the other side. i've never been to michigan track.

right now the two that i would love to see the most is your home track cota and the remodeled roval.. i've been to the oval twice but i'd like to see that infield raced on!! even though road races are probably the worse kind of tracks to see a race at those are the two i'd want to see the most right now,

that thing looks adaptable enough that you could set it over top of plants in jiffy for storms or nosy eyes.

i know youre probably gonna ditch it but if it is the software you're concerned about you can just download it right from creality.. there's probably a bunch of updates for your printer if you've never done that. i've even used a third party software on my [rinter a bunch of times. and can easily go right back to the creality stuff. sometimes they changed stuff from each program so i like to keep them in case i want to go back. for example i know it's silly but it still different one version will heat up completely and then home. other version will heat up the bed then home then heat up the nozzle. i also use different version of the creality print programs, i know you always used their slicer but i always hated that program so i've used creality print instead. i looks similar to that bamboo software, from what i understand is they're both modeled off of another famous slice that is well liked. i can't remember the name but i read it once back when i first got mine.

if you're interested in trying to update the creality software let me know i'll send ya the links and you just dump the folder on a clean sd card and turn the power on.. it's that simple.

might be worth a try if you think the firmware has a gremlin..

Well now I'm kicking myself because I realize firmware updates were likely the cause of all my issues and why I ended up doing what I did mixing and matching parts to wiring harness parts.
Welp, what's done is done.
It will be somebody else's project.
I take all my old working and not working electronics to a city funded recycle and disposal center. Electronics are separated and put inside a small shed where people can take them. You'll find other stuff like old lawn mowers, TV etc there. I'm gonna drop off the Creality, my old vertical smoker I wont get around to fixing, a TV, and some scrap metal stuff this weekend. Somebody will snatch up the printer and TV fast so maybe they find life in a new home.

I've opened up the Bambu and am in love already and not sure I could ever go back to creality now.
It reminds me when I got my Ford Fusion with all the tech bells and whistles you can get in a car compared to my Chrysler where the most tech in it was power windows and CD. That's the Bambu tech vs Creality

I bet the care and updates you've given your printer will keep it lasting a long time for ya. I never once updated and at times was abusive to it.

I may get another greenhouse too! I think it was only like around $60 and is 4x6x6. Metal frame and good cover too. Better than those plant blankets I see people get from home depot and around the same price.

I don't show my Mexican tropical stuff but here's the stuff that's gonna need some protection. They're so heavy I can drop the greenhouse over them rather than try to move the planters....

This dude doesn't need any protection from the weather but my giant armadillo has been great for slowing down speedy cars! Gets tons of smiles which makes me happy.
It's also become a selfie spot. Pretty sure all my neighbors have a selfie with my dude and my wife told me some people were coming by to mark it off on a scavenger hunt list? I guess people come up with a scavenger hunt then people go find the things and take a pic. Whoever gets all the pics first wins. So yeah, I guess my guy here was part of a scavenger hunt too!

More metal art because cool plants won't grow in concrete and these guys along with the roll up screen cover my carport entrance

Yeah they do have some decent prices, but they gouge you with shipping fees and Amazon still rings in cheaper on most products.

Thanks for stopping by my grow journal Buzzbomb!
I try to find the best prices on supplies too

He got what looks like a 12 pack in a plastic case. Must be a high ware part?

Yes and no. Yes it looks the same but no I haven’t used it. He just got a new Asus laptop. ROG or TUFF like I used to use. It will be a long while before I’ll be allowed to touch it unless he has a problem he needs me to fix. Lol

I unboxed it and got it set up yesterday.
Not too bad. Way more advanced than I was expecting.
Love the wifi!
Very Big Brothery needing to upload my ID and take a selfie to match it. I guess that's for the gun stuff and stealing patents things I've been reading about.
It felt so invasive I thought next I'd need to enter my credit score!
All good though and now I'm on my way!

I'll likely have it doing my first print maybe today.
Hobby Lobby has started to carry filament and supplies so I wanna go see what they might and if it's a better deal than amazon. Haven't looked at Bambu branded filament yet.
Yeah nozzles get clogged and the silicone boots just wear out so it's good to always have spares of those.

There's a documentary on netflix about consumerism and how products are designed to fail that's a pretty good eye opening watch. I'm as guilty as anybody when it comes to that but I am trying to make changes.
Growing up we had maybe two refrigerators. In my adult life, I'm already on my 7th. But I'm still on my first smart phone! I refuse to get security cameras or dash cams or any of that stuff. Could maybe use a robot vacuum but I'm sure it would just break too and that's just more plastic and metal bits to dispose of.

It's not a new printer until a Benchy comes off the plate!

IMG_2291[1].jpeg

Finished up the turnbuckle and sent it to the printer over wifi and all went well! It's working on it now.
Speed difference is insane. This turnbuckle foursome is a 17 hour print on Creality. It's just under 5 with the Bambu 🤯
Got the timelapse camera on it active too.
Next, learn how to paint my prints for multi color. Goal is to make tiedye look vertical germinators.

In other news...fresh from the Seahawk state to keep me occupied while watching the printer do it's thing

IMG_2280[1].jpeg

Smoked some of that and made this.
You know you're high & hungry when you make nachos topped with tacos😋

😂 Sry...🙃🤨

That's an interesting rig right there...I won't get too vicious since he's a Navy dad.... even though, Go Army, beat Navy... but that guy had to go from Oklahoma to Texas to buy that truck...might not have been too much issue considering anything in Texas north of Dallas is pretty much south Oklahoma anyways...then drive it all the way up there for you to see it.
If you see him next time give him the horns up ;hemand let him know OU still sucks!!! hahahaha

September 1st the laws around here changed so a ban on vape carts and disposable vapes happened. Possession = jail time just like the good ol days for these fucks in power.
Then they went on raids taking everything, flower, edibles, concentrates, etc without resistance or opposition. The joys of unchecked fascism in action!
Little do they know how well connected we are to legal states and the pipelines created. So while they think they're doing something with their raids here, shit's moving out the back door of Seahawk and Bronco dispos to us.
And yep, kids are still getting high...on pink cocaine & fenti....but we're blaming THC vape pens for that.

Aint no cart here and this aint disposable either!

That's'bsbutton

Thanks man. It's a Puffco Pivot with an aftermarket glass mouthpiece I ordered from Drip Glass in Canada.
Decent piece for what it is.
I like it better than terp pens and way more than coil heaters but it's oven is tiny. Like 2-4 hitter tiny. It doesn't like consecutive sessions or else it gets too hot and shuts down and battery is not the longest lasting. But for an on-the-go piece, not many are better IMO.
I like my Puffco Proxy most of all but it's not as discrete as the Pivot.
Pivot is for stealth sessions away from home, Proxy is for on-the-go for two people with little to no stealth discretion, and then my Peak is for at home, tripping balls with fatty dabs and light show.

Also got this little bucket of goodness from a Seahawk. Bad pic, good wax lol

In garden news, perimeter plants are popping their ties.
Last week, roots for most plants anchored down into the coco slab and locked into place allowing me to bend the plants over without turning the roots on the side.
So to open the canopy, I tied perimeter plants down to the side of the flood table and used garden wire to strap them down. I guess I need to add a few more twists to hold better but also don't want the wire to cut into the stalks

your metal art is a lot of fun man!!!! if i had traffic i would get stuff like that!!! i only have two people that drive past my house... well them and all the delivery people!! haha country life is a lot different.

hey speaking of puffco. i happen to see their new software is out! last night i was hanging with a couple buddies and we were ripping the puffco and one asked if it was the one you could connect to and i said yeah and opened it on my phone and everything was different!!!!! i mean everything!!!! they totally revamped the app completely!! this is the update that email was warning about.. my phone is new enough for it but my tablet is not. the tablet still works just fine but it's always gonna be that old version.

i kinda like some of the changes and some not so much.. i do't have much of a choice anyway no matter what i think so...

but i know you don't use it much at all and wanted to give ya a heads up in case you really need it one day and realize the whole thing changed.

.

man all late games today!!! looked for wvu... six oclock!! looked for horns.. eight oclock!!!! wooooo night games baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i hope you guys win and work goes smootth afterwards bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man I haven't opened the app since I finally got the Race Day light show going and figured out the two tap to go without the app.
Well the other time too when my wife wanted to see if I really named my Peak, Lana Del Blaze, after one of her fave musicians, Lana Del Rey. I also told her if the Pivot had an app it would be named Penjamin Franklin. She just shakes her head and mumbles "My husband" and sighs.

Vape apps are funky man. They go thru some legal shit regarding minors that gets them shut down or redone. Davinci had an issue and I think Apple banned them from the app store.

Good game last night that was more of a scrimmage and got to empty the bench so everybody got playing time. Hopefully the funk in O is over. Timing looked good so maybe they turned the page from Fall camp.
WVU is U.G.L.Y. and Rich Rod aint got no alibi they ugly!!! Routed by KU???
Okie Lite aint no better. They got thumped by Tulsa and Tulsa hadn't beat them since 1951!
Texas Tech made a statement yesterday though. I think they take the Big12. They dumped so much money into that roster in the offseason and got a bunch of guys who might've gone to other schools if not for Tech money whipping them. It's working well but that's a hi-risk hi reward venture and if it goes bad, people get fired. Just ask Neal Brown and WVU last year. Considering how the rest of the Big12 is looking so far though, good investment and Tech will be in the playoffs.

We have Saturday off with the bye next weekend then on the road to Florida. Gotta watch the wires though because all is not well in the Swamp. They could fire the coach but also deliver an ultimatum, beat Texas and keep your job. Lose and you're fired on Monday. So either way, I expect that game to be like fighting a cornered honey badger.

Happy race day Buddy and good luck to the ;lar!
2nd week in a row Briscoe didn't come off the hauler with mad speed so looks like he'll have to drive thru the field. Maybe Small has some tricks up the sleeve too IDK, but I hear they've been zeroed in on Loudon for a few weeks now.
Grabbed that 375 point bonus for fantasy so it's another good weekend for grabbing points! 10,642 after Cup check in!!!

Are the back/"taller" plants different strains?

Are the back/"taller" plants different strains?

Like a mullet. Business in the front. Party in the back ;rockb
Some are also pulled down then left to grow back vertical and pulled back down again.
I'm also using three different pruning and canopy training methods depending on the plant and how it's dominant growth wants to play out.

Yeah he's got Choco Chunk, Purple Hindu Kush and a Vietnamese Landrace in there I think. Maybe another strain or two.

The 'Nam stuff is outside and now only the PHK and CC are indoors in the flood table.
They're both Afghani Indica crosses and I'm not sure which is which since they're all scrambled in the bed but traits are so similar they may as well be one strain.
In the end the only difference may be one purple and the other green but both 100% indica.

Well now I'm kicking myself because I realize firmware updates were likely the cause of all my issues and why I ended up doing what I did mixing and matching parts to wiring harness parts.
Welp, what's done is done.
It will be somebody else's project.
G$ FIL had update issues with his old printer. IIRC he couldn’t roll a bad one back either. Even the Prusa was a letdown. They both have a new Elegoo model now.

That’s cool. I’d be checking out a 3D printer if I saw it at a scrap yard. We give our old electronics to family, then friends, and finally Goodwill. I used to give laptops and PC’s to my kids friends too. I’d be upgrading every couple years.

Glad we researched and waited so long. Saved a lot of headaches by the sounds of it.

I bet the care and updates you've given your printer will keep it lasting a long time for ya. I never once updated and at times was abusive to it.
You never know. Many things I skipped firmware updates. Look at what MS updates can screw up with video and network drivers. I usually wait a while and let the early adopters test for me, unless I had a serious problem.

I unboxed it and got it set up yesterday.
Not too bad. Way more advanced than I was expecting. Love the wifi!
WiFi is nice but I’m not a fan of the need to connect to the mothership. None of their business what I print.

Very Big Brothery needing to upload my ID and take a selfie to match it. I guess that's for the gun stuff and stealing patents things I've been reading about.
It felt so invasive I thought next I'd need to enter my credit score! All good though and now I'm on my way!
That’s new. 😳
Going to have to ask my son if they tried any other that with us. I don’t think so but if it came after our initial setup he might have hid it from me as I despise that shit and hack around it. No way I’d give real ID.

I'll likely have it doing my first print maybe today.
Sweet. Project or one of the test prints. We did the tugboat, mini BB gun, dummy 13, spring knives. Mostly silly things for kids.

Hobby Lobby has started to carry filament and supplies so I wanna go see what they might and if it's a better deal than amazon. Haven't looked at Bambu branded filament yet. Yeah nozzles get clogged and the silicone boots just wear out so it's good to always have spares of those.
Pretty sure we liked the Bambu filament but it’s more expensive. Always good to have backups of disposable or parts that wear.

There's a documentary on netflix about consumerism and how products are designed to fail that's a pretty good eye opening watch. I'm as guilty as anybody when it comes to that but I am trying to make changes.
I’ve always been cautious about buying disposable items. Remember life time warranties? I’ve been wrong or made mistakes, more so when younger, but I still have solid items I bought as a kid like soldering guns, tools, pellet guns, furniture. It just got harder to spot crap when rubbers and plastics replaced metal.

Growing up we had maybe two refrigerators. In my adult life, I'm already on my 7th.
I have a deep freezer people keep telling me to replace for a more energy efficient one. It’s 40-50 years old. I brought my grandmother a new one and she gave me the old one. Hers died in five or six years. The old one we still use! I use the lid as a work bench too!

But I'm still on my first smart phone! I refuse to get security cameras or dash cams or any of that stuff.
I got security cameras but only wifi that DON’T require you connect to the internet or a service. Called IP cameras. I try to stick to Bluetooth devices these days as less issues and 30’ range.

Could maybe use a robot vacuum but I'm sure it would just break too and that's just more plastic and metal bits to dispose of.
Ya I can’t see much of a use for a robot vac. I think it’s more of a single person who’s already keeping the house pretty clean tool. Kids, pets, messy life and it would be either useless or more of a novelty imo.

How’s the lobo holding up? Now that summers past and we are finally getting rain with the cooler temps I’m switching back to vaping over joints.

Ours is still going strong. Other than rotating through four batteries and 12 capsules I just clean it once in a while and the mouth pieces as needed.

We haven’t bought anymore dabs/butter to put in a capsule but I liked it. Need to pick up some now that it’s getting colder. It was a nice bump up from just weed.

Good to hear the Lobo is holding up. I'm thinking about ordering one for my daughter for her birthday. I'm so out of tune with what she has and doesn't have a need for with her other interests, cooking, clothes, art, etc. That makes my wife the main gift-getter. This might be something from the old man, lol. I saw where POTV has the Lobo at $25 off with bigger discounts on the package deals they offer.

G$ FIL had update issues with his old printer. IIRC he couldn’t roll a bad one back either. Even the Prusa was a letdown. They both have a new Elegoo model now.

That’s cool. I’d be checking out a 3D printer if I saw it at a scrap yard. We give our old electronics to family, then friends, and finally Goodwill. I used to give laptops and PC’s to my kids friends too. I’d be upgrading every couple years.

Glad we researched and waited so long. Saved a lot of headaches by the sounds of it.

You never know. Many things I skipped firmware updates. Look at what MS updates can screw up with video and network drivers. I usually wait a while and let the early adopters test for me, unless I had a serious problem.

WiFi is nice but I’m not a fan of the need to connect to the mothership. None of their business what I print.

That’s new. 😳
Going to have to ask my son if they tried any other that with us. I don’t think so but if it came after our initial setup he might have hid it from me as I despise that shit and hack around it. No way I’d give real ID.

Sweet. Project or one of the test prints. We did the tugboat, mini BB gun, dummy 13, spring knives. Mostly silly things for kids.

Pretty sure we liked the Bambu filament but it’s more expensive. Always good to have backups of disposable or parts that wear.

I can do things with this printer and slicer that are pretty next level compared to my previous ventures in 3D printing.
The laws for 3D printing may be different in Canada than they are here, IDK, so maybe your son didn't need to upload his id and verify.
The only thing I need from Bambu really is the slicer and the cloud service. I use my desktop computer and after getting that all set up, deleted the Bambu app from my phone and tablet. Last thing I need to do is disable their text because Bambu keeps texting me shit I'm not interested in, mainly things to do with a digital wallet.
I believe upon setting up my Bambu account and profile, it also sets up a service that'sa digital wallet with a possible plastic card to use in stores. I will not use that and if I get a spending card in the mail, it will be shredded.

I can say that if people get sketched out by smart home tech, digital money, and things like Alexa.... Bambu printers aint for you!

Every design I do will still be on Tinkercad. I won't be adding anything to makerworld.
When I move a project from a STL download then slice and send to printer, I delete that project from my Bambu profile after I send it.
I put the lens cover back on the printer camera because after looking at the video, I don't really need that.

I just finished up new pole mounts, turnbuckles, and slide stops for yet another thing that doesn't exist. Retractable horizontal trellising.
Now I have anchor points to open up my canopy.
I'm turning a 3x3 footprint into a 3x5 and killing stretch at the same time with it.
Then when buds are on the vine, the lines can stretch across and provide support when they lean so they won't lean on each other

Just another example of making somehting that doesn't exist to get exactly what I'm looking for to help me grow weed in some next level ways.

IDK if your son has messed with the filament settings much but they are highly customizable.
If not branded Bambu or using a listed brand, go with Generic in the settings.
Match the type of filament if it's PLA, PLA+, TPU etc and type in the settings listed on the spool of filament. Then make any minor adjustments to nozzle and bed temps if you need different temps from base layer to other layers. So an example for something like silk on the slicer will look like Generic PLA Silk min200 max230 plate 65 for all layers.
I keep my bed hot for all layers so it stays stuck to the bed.
So far I've ran PLA, PLA silk, PTEG, and TPU and all have come out looking great using the custom settings. None of my filament is from Bambu and really, I doubt I'll be buying it unless it's on sale.

Wifi will always beat out bluetooth for me but this is largely dependent on some factors like ISP and speed. My wifi network is rather substantial and really, it's a fucking beast bro.
I have the main 5g fiber network then created a 2.4g network within the home for Sony soundbar, AC Infinity, Pulse, and now Bambu. The 2.4 is low data, very secure, and my signal is super strong to punch thru about 4 walls up to 50' away.
5g is for wife's WFH office, my desktop 'puter and 3 streaming TVs.
Wifi is also far more reliable for me. With so many neighbors using bluetooth for things like radios and soundbars, it can be glitchy here.

It's in the arsenal.
I use it when I need to be combat loaded away from home for an all day event.
Like gamedays for example. I'll have the Lobo ready with 6 capsules + a jar of wax with at least 1g in it + two concentrate vapes all charged and ready for a 14 hour day on the move.
At home, there's the option of the Peak and 4 different bongs while all the portables get a rest.
I don't use the Lobo at home or on dog walks and every capsule I load is a sandwich since most of my herb in house is hybrid and needs a kick in potency.
Weather really has no effect for me here when it comes to partaking. It's either hot or warm, shorts & tshirt all year except for the 70 hours of Winter when I need a hoodie.

Nice man. I need to find a bic lighter holder that fits in my stash box. They keep falling over. Found two for different lighters I might be able to make work. View attachment 114458

I think a base that goes top to bottom beside the jar would be good for three lighters. 🤔

One of my first creations when I had the child size printer was making console adapters to hold things like lighters and doobs so they wouldn't fall between seats and stuff like that on road trips.
Making inserts is super ez playing with shapes on Tinkercad and grouping them together to create something that doesn't exist

I've owned a handful of herb vapes from hi-end to bottom shelf. Lobo is the best I've had.
I got the bundle off a promo event and the only thing I don't use is the cheap plastic grinder.
Capsules will keep it clean and having several will make sure you're set for a day.
Get the Gordito as well. The stock mouthpiece is ok but the longer one is better and the Gordito bubbler is best IMO.

Thanks. I had taken note of you and others preferring the gordito over the other bubbler they offer. Definitely want the capsules for pre-loading convenience and your mention about easier cleaning makes sense.
