Pet Thread! Let's see those critters you call family!

You guys see that old gas heater, help me not burn down the cottage this winter an advise me on converting to newer lines and unit or go electric? IT's kaput, or not to be trusted anymore, that old gas heater, scary! Thanks SS
I like my pellet stove.
They're a little pricey to get into but man, the heat they throw out is crazy.

I highly recommend using a horse grooming brush. My Bouvier didn’t like it but they have hair. Going by Willow fur is just fine. Works great when washing them and cleans them both up like new. Lasted 11 years so far. (Only really used for 4)

Last pic she letting me know I’m taking too long a break.

100% agree! I have been using my daughters and grandfather’s horse grooming tools on my mutts for years!

Haven’t seen any new pet pics in a bit. Holiday pics are usually good. @CannaGranny you ever tackled a cat to put on a silly hat or antlers? Only seen a few porch pics of your furries.🤣

I’ve never bothered but my wife tries once in a blue moon with the dogs. My mother has in the past so I expect she will with her new dog. 🤦

My girls :) Bells is the rat terrier, Hela the yorkie-poo. My gf at the time named her whatever Bella name from the twilight movie(was her b-day gift from me so I had no voice in the matter,) eventually turned to Bells. So in the same matter, Hela turned to Hells... Hells Bells 🤘
Sadly, I had to put down Bells after 14yrs of wonderful companionship this last April. Twas the worst day of my 44yr existence. Hela still is only 4 now, this pic is like 3 yrs ago? Fuck cats! I like them, just don't wanna be their servant lol20210213_005037.jpg

My cat has stolen my work backpack. I get issued a new backpack every season but will use the old one until it falls apart or a new one is that much more cooler than the old.
This one has been in use for at least a year and has my scent, which she loves, pretty well embedded in it.
I set it on my chair a few days ago and she made it clear I wasn't getting it back.
So yeah, this week I'm breaking in a new backpack

I find my cats in my dirty laundry bins all the time.

So instead of Cat in the Hat it's Cat in the Backpack?

My dog Hunter last ride in a car today. 12.5 years old. This winter storm that hit Monday was the catalyst to his end. Has had mobility issues on the year legs for the last year or two. He tried to punch through chest deep snow yesterday morning and did his spine and rear legs in from whatever was holding him together. He crawled back and was never able to get up again. I miss him. That pic is from in the truck today on the way to be put down.

sorry man, don't know the rights words to say but just sorry!

There's nothing worse than having to take that last car ride with ur most loyal friend. Did that last April, it sucked beyond what words could ever correlate w the experience. I'm soo very sorry for your loss. Just remember, it was for the best. I still beat myself up over thinking I could have maybe gave her(and myself) a few more months. I am soo very sorry for ur loss.

It hurt but it was him time. If it wasn’t for that snow bank it would’ve been something else that did him in. Bad hips and bad spine, it was just a matter of time. But something you are never really prepared for. It sucks.

On our way to losing our 5 labs my wife and I found out about mobile vets that will come to your house for euthanasia.
My last 3 dogs and 1 cat all got to pass peacefully in their home on their couch.
Did not cost much more than the vet trips and was just so much better for me and I think them.
I still don't have a dog, not sure I can again.
