The war on oil and gas for the last 4 years, compounded by all the money that was printed as a result of the so called inflation reduction act is what has made everything so fucking expensive. Hopefully the next administration can put the tooth paste back in the tube.

Seems really unlikely that food prices will come down. Some commodity prices, like cocoa have sky rocketed because of poor yields. We are eating tofu once a week, which can be ok if you add in onions, bean sprouts and spices.

This will be very interesting to watch. Like Syria and other wars before, it's pretty much a proxy war similar to what was going on during the cold war.
Proxy wars are what keeps the military industrial complex rolling and lets the US and Russia go at it but not on our soils. Politicians often have their hands tied in them.

i expected this after their new found friendship... i'm curious what got them together after all this time? or what got them closer? musk and trump were never good buddies before. maybe just $$$$$$$?

i'll stay away from any and all musk stock. you can't even buy into space x without a specific broker. i'm just not into that much to pay that kind of money to invest.

i use stash.com it cost me only $3 a month to play the market. when i first joined it was only $1 so i was like why not?! i only put a thousand dollars into it and wanted to learn a few years ago. i'm afraid to go all in with any retirement money though, i won't even use my 401k.. i stuck with the grand and that was it, i was as low as $400 once but now up to $1600. i'll never get rich with it and i'll also never go broke with it.

Most states are locked in and predictable.
Personally for me the, votes on the local candidates and issues effect us much more than who the president will be. Mid term election may matter more than general elections as well. Those are the ones they try to slip shit past the public with little to no voting.

Mayors, city councils, commissioners of various departments, and propositions directly effect taxation/income, contracts between cities and police/fire/ems all have direct effects on community safety. These votes matter every where.

Propositions have immediate and direct impact on what we pay in taxes, what gets built like roads and parks etc.
School board candidates are another. I don't have kids but if I did I'd be voting for them as there's some bat shit crazy people trying to get on school boards. I usually look for former teachers there but there's radicals from the left and right with no experience in teaching trying to meddle in public education.

I live in a 'debatable' area so when the debates occur, I have been asked to hold a sign or voice my opinion.
Heard a great argument about accepting federal funds since they don't come from the state.
People think they don't pay federal tax or something.
