SSgrower in coco&perlite growing perpetual

THANKS mAX, damn keyboard. I have watched Utube videos on how, but did not know about the tent size? It's a 3x3 and I have a 4x4 I am getting a 4x4 scrog net today but as you see the 3x3 net isn't covering the grow of 3 auto's so well. I hate scrog because I want to be able to move the gals in & out to trim or re-arrange the tent. I know outdoors we can't move the plant & scrog is used with bamboo poles and hemp twine. Max, I am at 3/4 lb. and stuck. All I want is 1lb or better per plant. I only have 5 patients but an 11 plant run should get me through till next harvest in 5-6 weeks, my patients are begging for meds. SSSgrower Max, "No more burnt tips huh?

Feel your pain man. Hoping outside covers meds. Like to keep most of indoor for us. 💪⚕️

Yeah I meant to say the size of your plants are too big as you can’t really scrog them.like nxt grow top or whatever and start training them early..I know @CannaGranny let’s them get a certain size then puts them under..maybe she can help with how many plants to put in your tent .I know there’s other guys scrog going but I can’t think of them right now.lol..I’m a little smashed…..where am I….what day is it 😆

Just a few things here. If you properly prep for a scrog all of your work can be done from the top. There should be nothing below to work on.
I top at node four, then the second node of all new growth and then fim a week prior to flowering.
I’m running a four by four and a five by five. Your top should be wall to wall in each tent. I’m also a soil grower. To date the highest yield off of one plant was 15 oz in the four by four. Prior to this grow the highest was 12 for a one plant four by four scrog. Average for me was 6-8 oz prior to scrogging.

Should I lollipop them now and remove the lowers before I install the scrog, Duh SS

I’ve done it before and after. My back says before is much better. 👍

Seriously I do before when I can and after when I have to. Just easier and gets airflow off to a good start.

CG does it before droppingvtable as well. Already topped twice iirc and then FIM at flip.

Get a few more options. 😝

Agreed. I like to use the net line as a guide to what needs to be cleaned up underneath. Supplemental cleanup can be had underneath but not critical. Really up to you how much regrowth below the net line you want to deal with at harvest. I'll come back on day 20 of flip and do a cleanup of regrowth and let her coast to harvest from there.

I prune pretty much like CG. I'll top at node 5, let the branching develop then FIM a week before flip to set up max bud sites.

As far as dry yields, much of that goes to genetics more than anything else. I've been blessed with superior genetics from my FloBro. Those genetics allowed me to surpass my one plant yield record of 16 oz. so those genetics are going to stick around for a while! I am also a soil grower but that god damned @Moe and his side by side are pulling me back into a "dining room" grow.😋

Hey Mister! How ya doing?
I agree on the genetics being one if not the biggest factor.

I'm good so far. Hopefully I didn't screw myself up too bad. So far things are looking like I'll make a full recovery but we'll see how much range I can recover in rehab. Missed you and the crew!🙂

CG, this may be useful to you and/or others but a tent, 4 x 4 or larger, makes accessibility inconvenient especially if the tent is situated in a way that you have limited access to entry points or have your scrog set. This is my dilemma. The 5 x 5 is in the corner of my office so I only have access to one side door and main entry. I can crawl under the net and access pretty much the entire area but I'm going to fabricate a base that I can attach a pneumatic piston, like what they use for office chairs, with a cushion on top of and place the base in the middle of the tent. Anytime I need to access to a hard to get to area I can install the pole and cushion in the base and lay above the canopy and do whatever work is necessary in that area without breaking branches.

BTW my FloBro is now my MichiBro......;) 😄

I built a 3x3 screen in my 5x5 tent and still have trouble getting around. I thought a foot would give me room but the two side against a wall don't give me a lot of room for activities

Yup! Whenever I'd do buildouts I'd go over the floor plan with the client. They ALWAYS would complain that they wanted more floorspace dedicated to flower. Understood but trying to work inside 24" and not break branches bumping into plants is going to get annoying REAL FAST! Some would listen. Some wouldn't. What surprised me was their surprise at my charging them more for having to reconfigure the room to the specs I had suggested from the outset.

They'd say "But that's how we had it planned originally? Why are you charging me more?"

Seriously?....... 😑

My light tapers off after a 3 foot square. And that's where my plan came from. I knew I didn't want a 4x4 tent so I went a size up. I'll deal with it until I really get the hang of this and then I'll have dedicated rooms for flower and veg and my current room that houses the tent will be my water room. Til then, I'll crawl.

I've been lucky enough not to break any branches so far 🤞

I will need to see a vid of that in action!
Im in a good position with all of my tents zipping down on the sides and the front open. I do have hell leaning over the top of my five by from the sides as I’m tall.
Glad to hear you are on the mend! Folks were asking about you, I told them more than likely you had a pain med and was sleeping it off.

My top is wall to wall, I know once I set it, I won’t be going in. I have a water cart with a long wand on it that I water with, and really the only work is I defoliate from the top and maybe move a branch.

Hey! When you water with your water wand I assume you have it set to shower so as not to create a giant mudhole in the media. You had mentioned in a previous post that you like to water some, let it soak into the media then come back and reapply. How much do you initially apply and how many times do you reapply? I'm not sure if you water drain to waste or if you water with no runoff.

I water only in the root zone, and yeah she’s set to a low volume as I don’t want it splashing dirt all over the tent and underneath my flowers.
As soon as I start watering the min I see it building atop the dirt, or holding water atop of the dirt, I back off and allow it to soak in. Doing this, when I go back the dirt then will suck it up like a sponge. As you know, growing in bags, if you push the water before the dirt is accepting the water it will just run out the sides of your bag.
I water until I get about a ten percent run off, dripping from the bottom of my pot. Not much more than that tho. Growing organic, I don’t want to wash out and bathe the goodies out of my dirt.
Amazing thing is they all take the same amount of water. Normally 1.75-2.00 gallons per watering.

I use a big yellow exercise ball. I go on my back and roll upside down under net and reach back. Not perfect but it works.

Look forward to your project. Post pics. 👍

The Coco Loco isn't good for starting seeds, so yesterday I found some Dr. Earth "Pot of Gold" and I have a Supreme Planet shooting up! SSgrower

That watering wand is the ticket if I remember to flush the container of nutrients after a run. I will search for one as opening the tent on 2 sides can be a bitch. This wand idea keeps slipping as I do hand water DTW. I enjoy the involvement with my gals, talkin to em an such. Thanks CannaGranny,SS

My pleasure! This set up holds ten gallons and is on wheels. The pump, a rechargeable battery. The wand is three feet long and I can get to everything in the tent to water. Best money I ever spent, made a hard job much easier.
I enjoy my ladies too 🙂 play music for them etc.
