SSHZ does B2ACG's "Aura" and "GG#4........

"The gorilas like cooler temps and less light.we grew it for years at the farm. Tricky one to keep green,a real deva .stinky though ,always a crowd favorite."

So, as I figured- the led's stressed the GG#4 causing bleaching in the upper parts of the plants. The lower parts were just fine. A bit strange as those were located to the outside of their area..........
 
Sharpiez final weight came in at 26.5 oz for 6 plants- that's 4.4 oz per plant.

Aura came in at 45.5 oz for 9 plants- that's 5 oz per plant.

The GG#4 is still drying.........

When the heat is on often with the cold temps outside, things dry quickly. I'll let everything sit in tupperware for another week or so before disbursing.
 
Buds look awesome. Nice of him to come through and replace the seeds for you. All I got was a bunch of articles on growers error lol.
 
What strain(s) gave you issues?
 
Not necessarily a particular strain more than germination, genetics, and other issues. I did a grow journal here last year called Fall Grow. Plants came out decent but had nothing even close to pics resembling the seeds being sold. Dropped 22 seeds from various strains of his. Only half sprouted out of 5 different strains. Some strains were basically a total loss. I did White Wedding, Miracle Alien Cookie, Dankberry , Purple Sunset and Apricot Oreoz.
 
Thats one of the reasons I try not to grow more than 2 strains at a time, so I can attend to an issues that arise quickly. I find growing too many strains at a time becomes more challenging and it complicates getting a handle on some issues.

Interesting the needs of each strain is usually a bit different. The Aura needs as much light as you can provide, it appears the GG#4 is the opposite and prefers less than normal. For years and years I only did one strain at a time, and even then- different phenos would be visible with differences there too. But since last year I started doing 2 strains since friends all wanted 2 for some variety.
 
GG#4 in containers now.........One of the 3 of these didn't finish enough and I have that one separated for future hash use.

I'm still cleaning up but expect to start up again early this coming week. I'll stop posting in this thread except for the final reports in a day or two. The new thread has already been started..........
 
G.G.#4 yielded 9 1/4 oz for the 2 nice plants, and slightly over 5 oz for the plant that did not finish.............solid weights for all 3 strains this time.

Size pots were you running?.. nice haul!!
 
I think the pots say 5 gallon but in all actuality they are closer to 4 gallon...........so about 86 oz total for 18 plants, about 4 1/2 oz a plant. The Aura's were monster yielders, airy but monster spear colas. The Sharpiez were average size, but super dense adding a lot of weight that way. The GG#4 yellowed early and were never fully healthy, and would have done much better if they were greener throughout- but still yielded over 4 oz per plant.
 
My style of grow is all based on the good led light dispersement.........I keep the plants short with a topping at the turn of flowering, a lot of defoliation enabling the light to get down deep and a good lolipopping of the bottom 3rd branches.

Where did you guys say Lit Farms stuff?, everywhere I look I can't find them there out of most of it
 
Lit Farms has stopped selling seeds, meaning most of what you will find out there are getting old and stale. They also discontinued their gummies, which were also very good. They are concentrating on thca sales and merchandise now, and not much else.

I have a large stash of their stuff, bought up as they were closing out their remaining stock. Biggest issue with them is their prices, which are very high- most in the $250-$300 range for 10-12 seeds. I've had very good luck with their stuff and the Sharpiez I just finished is excellent. Those were a gift from them, sent just after they became available for market. I had just finished a Permanent Marker and sent them some pics and where I was posting them, and they sent me a bunch of 6 packs as a reward.

If you are looking for something in particular, I can check my stash.............with the success of the Sharpiez, I'm again thinking about doing one of their strains instead of 2 of B2ACG's. Their stuff just keeps hitting the mark for me!
 
Yeah that explains it..... well it's the same prices with In-house genetics.2-250

So yeah, if I'm going to do something like that I'll do it with in-house at least they're advertising fresh....

Ive got a small stash from B2ACG that I need to get too.

You might change my mind for some of that Gran Turismo, or whatever it's called from Lit farms...
 
Don't have that one but do have plenty of others.....

My only issue with In-House is they actively promote their strains yield like shit. So you spend 3.5 months growing something out for 1 1/2 oz. Doesn't make much sense to me.
 
I didn't see that. I found them looking for Pacific Northwest strains, breeders that are supposed to be out of the PNW. They came up on my search.
I did find a couple of smaller seed banks that still had some Lit Farms, I'd have to search it again to tell you which one it was.
And they didn't have very much. So after the holiday sales are over, I'll check back in with you, I can do more Lit Farms research that way.

In House is top notch, I've seen tons of reviews on their stuff. But they emphasize quality over quantity. They don't breed for weight at all. Just look at pic's on various sites of their stuff people grow. I'll try to find where they claim don't expect a high yield from their beans.
 
Found this is 2 minutes.....

Smell.............in no particular order. Buds were randomly picked, not necessarily typical size.

Sharpiez.......pure magic marker stink with some gassey overtones. The standout in that dept.

Aura- outstanding sweetness that lingers a long time.

GG#4- sour notes throughout

All 3 turned out worthy, very very happy overall.

Tonight I'll do a review on the Aura.........I am smoking for the first time today so it will be a clean evaluation. Here's the bud I picked:

So, I already listed I got 4 1/2 oz a plant, or maybe just slightly more. Referring back to my notes, I did not top these but did do a solid defoliation and a lolipopping. I didn't top because they were not tall after 30 days veg and I was afraid a topping would stunt them even more. There were a few of them that were taller and I just placed them along the back wall. Those of course took off like crazy as soon as I switched to flowering. They became quite tall but were able to handle their weight well so no support was necessary.

Everything has a pleasant sweetness to them all thru the grow and that remains while drying and smoking. It's tasty for sure. The high is nicely balanced, definitely hits the head and eyes. No anxiety or negative issues, it's a nice comfortable high. Not overly potent but it does the job and it's worth smoking just for the taste.

The taller pheno's, the one I won the pic contest with, grew monster spears but they were airy. Still though, they were covered in resin. I think that pheno needed more light than they were getting. They foxtailed too, probably too close to the led because they were so tall. So, close to led but still not getting enough light since they were at the back of the room. The other pheno did fine and the colas were denser but smaller, as were the plants. Very easy grow, no real issues at all while maintaining a 350-450 ppm at 6.3 pH. In flowering I would just give a ppm at around 100 ppm every 3rd watering.

Would I grow it again? No. Is it worth a grow? Yes. For taste and yield alone. This is a perfect daytime high, but I probably wouldn't smoke it before bed. I've smoked this one a lot in my new portable vape, and it does fine and maintains its taste. Good, but not great overall. It would probably shine as a concentrate of some sort. I'll sift some hash when it's dry enough and report back.
 
Sharpiez review...........

This one is very much up my alley and I grew it because it has the Permanent Marker as one of its parents and I really liked it the first time I grew it. Zoap, the other parent, must have recessive traits since this could be called Permanent Marker and no one would know the difference.

To continue, 6 plants were stinky enough to smell up the entire house, including the surrounding areas outside. Fire it up and it smells even worse. My Phresh filter lost the battle early on. Be prepared, you've been warned. This one was from Lit Farms, B2ACG has his own version available which is probably worth a go. Call the smell burnt tires, or gas fumes or skunk- Lit Farms describes it as a "striking aroma", but its more like an atom bomb in a petrol factory.

The high leans to the sativa side a bit, mostly heady and not much body to it. There's a lot of resin in these buds too, which contributes to the cough you'll get with every bong hit. The taste, like the smell, lingers on the tongue for a long time. As I've reported, my preference is mostly sativa leaning strains, so I'm naturally drawn to this over most of the indicas I normally grow.

I'll be keeping a big supply of this one around for personal enjoyment. None of the buds were large, but they are super dense and rock hard easily adding a lot to the final yield, 26.5 oz from 6 plants, an avg about 4.5 oz. it's easy to grow, easy to keep green, stays shorter but yields heavily. As you can tell, I liked this one a lot, you will too. Since I haven't started up again yet, this one makes me rethink what I'll grow next time, B2ACG or Lit Farms?

I changed my mind and am going with two Lit Farms strains next grow. I'll get to the other B2ACG strains I was going to do next time. I've deleted that thread I had already started and will start a new one shortly, after I decide what I'm going with. No particular reason, just wanted a change........

What think of that game? I walked away on that game in the third quarter, we went to bed!

Didn't find out till the highlights at 4:00 in the morning though, so at least that part was good!

Pretty good game overall, from here
