When you are blending your perilte into promix are you buffering with lime? If so how much? Thanks
He actually looks like Reeferman a bit.....Nope that’s not him..beards not red.![]()
It actually is him. His name is Eric.Nope that’s not him..beards not red.![]()
Biscotti is a dessert ya know..The Biscotti has totally overwhelmed the odor in the room- very sweet, but not a sickening sweet like some others. I can't even smell The All Starz anymore.
I have something similar on the walls and ceiling of my basement recreation room. And it was last painted in semigloss white by the looks of it.Lit Farms........I'm willing to give them high credit for the last strain (Rainbow Marker) and this strain looks equally good. The last one sold right out and that says a lot to me, as multiple people came right back for more. I'm actually still smoking it, the last 6-7 grams or so. The pheno issue just means they don't work the strain for years to get to a uniform point. But, the cuttings or mothers they use are very good I'm assuming. If this new strain works out like I expect it to, i'll probably drop the All Gas Og I was going to do next and substitute another Lit Farms strain- they deserve a constant place in my garden. But let's hold off until this crop is done.
Captain RedBeards- I am not super happy with this side of the room, but it's all my fault and not fair to blame the Biscotti Blonde. It did not handle my pH probe issues well, but the Lit Farms strain did. There was also some probable light burn on this side that also did not happen with the All Starz. I've already mentally committed to doing this strain again, as I have extra seeds of this one, but want to reserve my final opinion until I have a chance to smoke it. I can tell you it's sticky, and a great smell right now- but let's see how it finishes off and how long it takes.
i am putting a large sign up in my room- led's no lower than 22-24 inches & ppm no higher than 450. Not sure why I'm having a mental block on these issues, as I know my grows always turn out better when I don't push the room too far.........Honestly, I am not spending as much time in the room as I'm redoing my 1200 sq. ft basement, starting with sanding the popcorn off the ceiling which is no walk in the park.
Thnx sshz So you do no soil prep before placing sprouts into large pots. Is it necessary to water in your promix a week or so before placing in seedlings to activate lime and nutrients or something? I have early cm deficiency consistently even after starting them out at 5ml/g botanicare cmNope. I don't add extra perlite anymore. I just buy the HP Pro-mix, which includes a higher % mix of larger size perlite. And, no, I stopped adding the lime too. I think it was Aqua Man a couple of years ago who convinced me it was not necessary and the extra dose tends to reduce availability of Nitrogen, if I'm not mistaken.
Both things have worked out fine, no need to make any changes.
Correct.......Promix does it all for you. I just thoroughly water the pots before placing the seedlings in. And spray the tops a couple of times a day, until they all pop thru the soil. In a week or so, I just water as normal with my watering can. Promix has a nutrient base that should last 10 days or so no nutes are necessarily. If you are using r.o. water, I would add 5ml per gallon cal/mag. If your using reg water and/or you ppm is 20-30 or above, you'll be fine. I sincerely doubt you are seeing any cal/mag deficiencies from a week old sprout. More likely it's a pH or nutrient level issue.
Everything going in is adjusted to 6.3. I start them with 5ml/gal cm only just sparingly. I have consistent problems for first weeks I will try thoroughly watering pot with 5ml/g 6.3 and see . I thought it was ph too but promix should have it correct.I use ro water.
I hear what your saying Removing popcorn is alot of work and huge mess. And thats only the beginning. Good luck man Steady as she goesWhen i bought the house and finished the basement, I was in my 40's and physically capable of doing it all. The ceiling is turning out to be a bear, and it's slow going. I'm trying to get that part done since I have an appt. with a surgeon on the 17th to schedule surgery for a hernia I've had since high school (50 years). At my age now and the hernia is quite bad, so my recovery will easily be 2+ months so I'll be shut down from doing that work thru Feb and March.
The plan is to clean up and paint the ceiling, while recessing some more lighting. Then paint the wood paneling with a whitewash, pull up the carpet and lay down some waterproof flooring. The paneling is outdated now, popcorn ceilings are frowned upon, and since we'll sell the house in 3-5 years, I don't want that to be an issue.
My tap water measures 200ish My ro coming off at around 10 on the 500 scale. I have been following you for a couple years. Read lots of your posts. You have given me fair bit of advice. Thank you. I consistently struggle first few weeks. Wrinkled leaves, some deformaties and reduced growth. Feels like cm def right from the start. But starting at 5ml/g it shouldn’t be. I wonder about ph. I foliar cal/mg and epsom alot to get them snapped out of it and by third week they take off. Will be starting some more godfather og in a week or so. Gonna water promix in pots thoroughly and let pots stand for a week or so. Maybe thier precharged lime needs to to get going? I dunnoNot necessarily........... lime works SLOWLY, it's not an instant correct. What is your r.o. water ppm? Mine is usually between 20-40 ppm, depending on the time of year. Before the r.o., it's about 300 ppm. Pic's as it's happening would be great, and would surely help with a correct diagnosis.
I help a number of people, working with them thru their issues until they get straightened out. One guy was consistently having problems. After working with him for weeks, I noticed he did not give the pH correction enough time. So, he would add his pH up, and when it hit 6.3, he'd start watering. 10 minutes later, his pH rose to 6.5 in the resevoir. He was not giving it enough time to fully adjust. Simple things like this often are the issues.
Two new things:
1. I'm going to run a test this next crop, run it at 6.2 pH, instead of 6.3..........let's see how it goes.
2. All Gas OG......I really wanted to run these, but I don't want the heat from the wife. Remember, she's the boss, I'm just a worker bee. Most of the grows I've seen on these is outside. I was reading with one of the grows, the smell got him busted. But I may throw a few of these outside this spring........ People will just think it's a dead skunk somewhere (hopefully). They stay short, produce really well, finish nicely and the end product is worthy.
Promix hpI have a general feeling it's your starting medium? Are you using promix and if so, which one exactly.......
