It's been a long time coming to finally grow this one. Lets gets weird and have some fun!!!!

Been on the to-do list pretty much since the movie then to find out it was just Trainwreck x Hawaiian was a little like realizing Santa Claus wasn't real.
I liked Saul's description better!πŸ₯΄

Went looking for a modern but older haze hybrid from around 95'-2015 and with that, Pineapple Express found it's way into my vertical germinator this week.
Got a 5 pack of fems from Grower's Choice and dropped 3.
Also added a free sample of bison mojo from Grease to this round of seed starting

Joining the party as companion plants, Strawberry CoughπŸ“πŸ€πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜΅, (one of my desert island strains), and another throwback who might steal the whole show, Montana SilvertipπŸ”οΈπŸ—»πŸ•οΈπŸ’ŽπŸ₯ˆ.
Dropped 3 of each

IMG_2867[1](1).jpeg

Also tossing in some home bred F1 wildcard testers to see what happens.
Dropped 5, kept 4, fed 1 to the cat

πŸ‡»πŸ‡³ X πŸ‡¦πŸ‡«

Heavy duty version of the veeg is now available for download.

Thick walls means no warping over time, snug fitting insert, xtra wide base for stability, 14 sites, and 115mm tall if you'd ever need a sprout that big.
And now, there's a spatula to perfectly set the paper in the grooves!

Size comparison from prototype to production model

After sprouting it's time for initiation into the Black Tray Mafia

I’m liking the Pineapple express that I harvested last month.
Still in the cure stage but smells great.
I want to try it again and use better seed stock
Looking forward to watching your grow.

Right on Tom that's great to read!
I've only had commercial grown PE from dispos but each time I really enjoyed it and wanted to grow it for myself.
Really excited to finally see it growing here.
My seeds came from Grower's Choice which is an online white label seed company based in California. White label gets a very bad rap these days on social media by pollen chuckers but every cut I've got from Grower's Choice has been as advertised and very good pot. Confidence is high with these but we'll see in the end

Never stop never stopping Zen! ;drive

What the hell is going on in the freggin train man?ΒΏ....

Strawberry cough was on my short list, blackberry kush won out...wanting to see the Montana...almost pulled the trigger on that one...

🍿....

It's a haze grow man so never know who might show up on the party train. Rumor has it the ghost of Richard Nixon and the cast of Ferris Bueller's Day Off is waiting at the next stop! πŸ™ƒ

Strawberry Cough was an ez choice. Another I've been waiting years to circle back into.
Got the kush grow out of the way on the last run. Next up in that category will be more old school stuff like original skunk and northern lights.
Montana Silvertip is basically a fast flowering silver haze with Grand Daddy Purple in there giving it some indica traits in structure but she pops silver haze flowers. Kind of an original hybrid of Northern California grown indica and Dutch haze going back a generation. Could look like chrome spears in the end.πŸ˜‰

Hannah Montana is on the train repping that one ;wtf

Haha get on the train or get ran over by it!! πŸš‰

Trying to get that cat's poop smelling like weed ;poop

IDK man...I think The Dark Knight is reading grow journals on Bud Builders, so yeah, but it's Bud porn!!

This grow should be on the speedy side for haze hybrids.
Next to no veg is the plan. Will try to do a lot of vegging with the 12/12 light cycle as soon as I see 5 pointers on most.
These strains could be a half year long grow in some cases but I'll try to have it wrapped up in about 120 days or less.
Veg nutes will be pushed into flower, only flipping to bloom nutes after I see pistils. So even though they're on a 12/12, I think I can use stretch and nutes to grow the garden 5x it's size from time of flip.
Basically, a >1' deep x 3x3 canopy footprint at flip and finishing at 3-4' deep and 4x5 wide canopy is my plan.
Hopefully, not too many surprises and it all plays out how it should.🀞

Designed and printed a tray mount for the Ecowitt wired soil moisture meter and added the dummy bag today.

IMG_2887[1].jpeg

IMG_2888[1].jpeg

This is pretty much a gas gauge that lets me track the moisture of the medium in relation to environment. I can correlate temps to evaporation rate in the medium without a plant with this rig.
Later, after upcan, another probed bag will be set up but it will have a plant so I'll have a probed bag with and without a plant.
This meter has a digital display but it also transmits thru wifi to my desktop dashboard.

Right now, it's being used to give me base line operating numbers which I can use to determine how often I need to flood the tray.

The dry floor is 40% with this medium. It's a very fast draining and water repelling media with a very rapid rate of exchange for both air and water.
If it was soil loaded with compost and peat then everything changes with slower exchange rates and min/max levels of saturation.

So I don't want this medium getting any drier than 40% and of course max saturation is 100% but that 100 is only available while flooded. The optimal operating moisture IMO is approximately 5-30 minutes after a flood. I find that optimal operating moisture level to be around 60%.
In context, a day of irrigation would look like this.... Flood to 100% then watch it fall-60%-55%-50%-45%- Flood again.
I'm trying to fit that sequence into a 24 hour period if possible then it's only 1 flood per day. If that sequence falls much faster then more floods are needed in a 24 hour period.

When the plant probe bag is in and spitting out data then I can chart it and watch the exact times and for how long, how much, the garden is taking up in food and water making it possible to predict transitions in the life cycle, basically stay a step ahead of garden needs being proactive instead of reactive. That's the goal anyways.πŸ˜‹

So many train songs!!!
I didn't know music about trains was such a low key thing. It's like Forest Gump shrimp. Songs about driving trains, riding trains, train crashes, train stations, midnight trains to Georgia and even a song about driving a train high on cocaine!!!

i'm almost afraid to ask... who are all those people on that train?

Well there's The Target Lady from SNL.
Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors.
Napoleon Dynamite's brother or cousin, can't remember which, but he's the weirdy who found love in an online chat room and wants to take self defense courses from an alpha I'm pretty sure is married to a lesbian.
He met La Fawnduh at the train station and went full on gangsta after that so yeah he gets a spot on the train

maxresdefault.jpg

There's Red from the movie Pineapple Express and funny thing there..Two stoner movies Friday and Pineapple Express both have a character named Red and both are sorry asses you can't depend on for back up in a fight.

Speaking of Friday...Craig and Dayday are on the way in their famous "Damnnnnn" pose. They get a spot on the train for sure!

We've also got Daytrader Batman up there rocking his loafers (business casual) hanging and doing dabs with Emiliano Zapata, a Mexican revolutionary who was also a farmer and was murdered by a corrupt Mexican government.

Hannah Montana is on the train!!!! I needed somebody to rep Monatana Silvertip so the choices were Tony Montana from Scarface (too ez and so played out it's old and tired).....Joe Montana, which my browser history will tell you that if there was a Joe Montana sticker out there with his arms up signaling a touchdown, it would be on the train too.
Then there was Hannah Montana holding two bottles of silver vodka. If that aint a sign she needs to be on the train I don't know what is. Plus I'm a closet Mylie Cyrus fan so yep, she's in!

Also on the way is the ghost of Richard Nixon, the cast of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, rockin raccoons, Skeletor with his cat, Robert Smith from The Cure, and a member of The Breakfast Club.
By the time this grow is over, that party train is gonna look like a Saturday night at Studio54 in 1980 and get weird AF!πŸ€ͺ
