Observers' Rockwool Play

Ever since the first issue, ⛵

LED is too close/PPFD is too high for the Environment that it is in though.

Leafs are getting bigger

New growth coming out

Running PK-N ratio, 210/.4 E.C
5.4pH

And I can almost approximate the water content, going off weight.

Have not done the math for 8 cubes in a solo like this yet, though.

And 200 "cubes"

Im liking the 21$ box better than the 13$ box of cubes

😎 🧐

Just need to get my Fem/Clone source.

I either make this work, gloriously.

Or not at all.

Can "add" on to it too.

The thought of switching out for the other cubes is on my mind though.

correctly determine the amount of water absorbed by the rockwool cube and the weight of the water. Now, to calculate the water content percentage, you can follow these steps:

  1. Calculate the total volume of the rockwool cube:
Volume = length × width × height
Volume = 2.54 cm × 2.54 cm × 2.54 cm
Volume = 16.387 cm³

  1. Convert the volume from cubic centimeters to milliliters:
1 cm³ = 1 mL
16.387 cm³ = 16.387 mL

  1. Calculate the weight of the water absorbed by the rockwool cube:
Weight of water = 9.0 grams
  1. Calculate the water content percentage:
Water content percentage = (Weight of water / Volume of rockwool cube) × 100%
Water content percentage = (9.0 grams / 16.387 mL) × 100%
Water content percentage = 54.92%

Therefore, the water content percentage of the rockwool cube is approximately 54.92%. This means that about 54.92% of the cube's weight is water, and the remaining 45.08% is solid material.

VERIFYING

Want/kinda need RO for clones when trying to get the E.C PPMs just right

I need 0.5ec my tap is already 0.2-0.3ec 120ppm
I only need 200-250 PPMs OF NUTES ONLY/NPK

Not whatever else bullshit is in the tap lol.

So I just made a 0.4 EC solution +tap and poured some out/diluted back down to 0.4/200-230 PPMs
5.4-5.5pH for the rockwool solution.

PK-N ratio for now. (Higher PK than N)
0-21-26
15-0-0
2-3mL hypo acid
5-6mL 34% h2o2

Shes ready for night night

8ml per cube out of a gallon solution of

("PK-N") (higher PK>N ratio) > ( logic being for root focus/growth) roots like the PK/micros

0.4ec/5.4pH

5.5ml 34% h2o2

2.5ml hypo acid

~14.93mL is approximate Max (WHC%) }

Of "these" "1inch" cubes.

Giving me a water content % around ~53.583%

these 4 seeds are from my pollen chucking experiment/test

ill probably pick the best looking one or two, maybe add 2-4 more cups

2 cubes in each basket, seeds are down as of today around 2pm for those

still on stand by for the CLF 9oz RW run, figuring out the Fem/Seed/Clone source

Got it yesterday

Always skeptical touching the fuckin thing lol

You need something. Clone Xis kind of expensive. It works fine. They all kind of do. I use dip and grow. They all work
Those 1” are kind of a pain in the ass. Did you buy trays as well? I have used them. Hard to get enough water out of them as the start. You want the rock damp but not soaking wet. The wetter tge cube the longer it take to get clones.

When I did my clones, I just dunked them in water for a few hours then soil with nothing else. I had about 50% success rate with it. That said, I’m sure something like clonex or using aloe would’ve greatly increased success, but you don’t actually need anything.

Also that’s interesting about the moistness of the rockwool.

With that method I get about 98 percent positive results.

Went ahead with the 8 regs of mine.

Ready to get started Learning this.

rockwool, on "slabs", the cheap AF version.

Micro-"CLF" 9oz Solo Cups with "1inch" rockwool cube(s) on top of 8 other 1inch rockwool cubes, the "slabs".

The Mini-Version.

Time to give a few mLs to the seeds/cubes, using the timer.

And see if the parts even work with how I have it.

Have these screwed in a little more to have a slow water rate, if that is how it works.

Ok I just gotta adjust along the way and figure out to match/balance the timer/drip/water to the plants/ENV.

Work with it a little.

Lmao

@GrumpAzz

0.3e.c

Would like to install RO filter to control that 0.3ec, takes up most of the "starting" nutes E.C

So just running tap water and a little bit of kelp 5.3pH

I did not soak any cubes before hand, did not want to wait on dryback. If it's not warm/airflow enough.

Learning/figuring the wool out.

Scaled down rockwool on "slabs",cheapest way for me to do so ATM, figure I can put the cups in bigger cubes down the line If needed/ if I wanted. Betting the 9oz solos fit down about perfectly in a 4 cube or 6.

They just need to shed their "helmets"

Keeping the tent around 79-85F and 65-80Rh for germination/rooting/veg phase.

Timer is watering every 2 hours, for 5 seconds, 10 seconds at lights on, 10 seconds lights off, on the auto fertigation 8 cups.

Learning/figuring out how to Adjust as I go and observe/learn what it wants/needs/ balancing the drybacks to the time/temperature and humidity/ENV.

Hand watering the other cubes/cups/clones, 1-5mLs at times.

Clear cups? Bro..
yea....i know you're not supposed to lol

ez fix though

i can just wrap em with foil/put them in red ones down the line.

want to see the roots, and test fighting off algae.

Yeah roots don't like the light. And algae. But mainly the fact that roots prefer to be kept in the dark.
