And Texas is a Spring race now only 3 weeks after COTA!! Looks like it was swapped out for Atlanta and ATL is a playoff race. May have done that due to heat the past two years at TMS.
Looking at a vacation race to maybe happen too. Fly to Boston for New Hampshire or rent a van and make the roadie to Iowa with the dogs. I don't think there's a wrong answer on that one really because Iowa would also include a drive out to Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, and Montana. But Mass has that seafood!!!

the second alien rock candy never made it, i didn't even think the first one was gonna so i dropped the two bubbles so they just got put in soil tonight.
the others i put in the VG tuesday night and six were ready for soil on friday and the arc's were just a one inch tap root so i put them in soil anyway and watered them in. one came up monday night and the other was rotten when i went digging for it.

Yep the thing about Iowa is nobody knows about Iowa!! Cup has never been there but NXS and Truck have and those who've raced it love it!
Rusty Wallace designed it and I think it's pretty much been a Field of Dreams track where they built it then hoped one day Cup would come.
And it's looking like that will be our choice this Summer! Wife really like the idea of traveling with the dogs and seeing small town America so that's what we'll do.
This may be the race I go ahead and rent an RV and camp too!
So yeah you can say like I was for Chicago, I'm plugged in early on Iowa.

But I'm not sure how Atlanta remedies that. They call it Hotlanta for a reason. So IDK...maybe they trade a little heat but get more humidity on that one. I'm sure Goodyear had a say in that too because TMS is hell on tires when that track is that hot

Stoney I went to their website. I was only really able to view the 250 of you series of lights but ya I thinking too much light. The company making your light is probable using some powerful LEDs, but not like the gavita or fluence stuff with like 3300 Diodes per light so I am still thinking too much light. If you look further there are hints to justify my thoughts. Plants are staying really low to the grown and already pumping out additional leaves

At that stage, I'd be at 10-10-10 ....24-30" above the heads. Maybe off balance a little with red up to 15 to promote root growth but nothing above that until they show 3rd leaf set and are happy. Once they break seedling stage then push 'em but for now, go gentle

just be sure to check out the race track rules for it though. pocono won't let ya stay the night unless it's got a legit toilet tank. before that guys would pile in a uhaul with a keg of beer and party all weekend at the track. that's what got those guys to make the party bus it had a tank on it and was pretty useful for drinkin beer all day!!!!!

I've actually partied on the orange and white bus in front of it a few times before that huge scoreboard was built.
Maybe 20 or so years ago after a game about a 1/3 of the stadium had exited to that street. Those guys with the bus had a portable dish, tv, and some sofas set up to watch the last fight Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis had after the game. So yeah was maybe 1500 people hanging out there partying after a game watching that fight. It was great and one of the coolest spontaneous crowd gatherings I've ever been a part of!
Now everybody that was there has a spot beyond the left field fence and the group is called Occupy Left Field but the trucks and busses are still there. Amazing the tires still have air. Windshield is smashed out of one and they're all tagged up but that just adds to the charm.
It's a long drive from here too. I've drove to Nebraska a couple times but Iowa Speedway is past that and damn near to Chicago. If we didn't want to see Wyoming and Montana after then the drive south thru Colorado and Kansas it would probably be easier to fly to Chicago and rent a car to go to Iowa. The drive will take us thru KC though...Want me to go pee on Pat Mahomes' ride if it's at Arrowhead?
Speaking ball man last night was the first time I got a look at the Raiders in a while and sheesh! I think they're playing for the Caleb Williams sweepstakes along with Arizona. Just has a tanking the season kinda roster feel to it hoping for a very high draft pick. Along with CW though there are some stud QB's about to come out so I think LV can upgrade there but damn they need some dudes at almost every position group. Pack aint much better but they do have their future QB on the roster now.

yeah i thought it was bad enough the raiders had to play sunday night the other week then this week they gave em monday night... everybody gets to see just how bad they are. i'm starting to think the whole shit show must be coming down from ownership and organization and just ruins good players.
somebody asked me yesterday afternoon who they were paying that night and i didn't even know!! ha but i could tell ya where the last our nascar races are!!! hahaha
this week they play the patriots.. they're having just as many problems as the raiders and i'm sure they're still pissed from last years game so who know what will happen!

Man I'm the same way with NFL. Every time I turn on a game I see bad football unless it's the second round of the playoffs and beyond. i didn't see that many great sales on prime days,, i picked up a cheap new mat for my 3d printer. and i grabbed a couple bags of dry nutes that i had my eye on for a while and saved a few bucks.
also picked up a bottle of foop fuckup fixer to spray on my seedlings in a last ditch effort to save them.
so i'm pretty sure it turns out i was the cause of those other seedlings to get fried and not the bug bomb. it was the strong lighting then too and i didn't know it.
the three youngest should be fine and are still showing growth. the older six i don't thin are gonna make it. all i have to say is i'm damn glad greenpoint puts extra seeds in every pack!!! so i loaded up the VG one more time for another six pack!! i sure hope you make the VG 3.0 soon because i'm gonna wear this one out soon!!!!

Another possibility and I dread bringing it up but it's possible, a leaching happening between the drip ring plastic and water. There could be some sort of toxicity happening there. I'd be tempted to split the new batch 50/50 with and without drip rings.
Lastly but unlikely is Harbor Blend may be too hot for seedlings? I haven't used it yet but upon inspection reminds me a lot of Fox Farm Happy Frog soil which I have used on seedlings and it worked fine. If it is the issue I'd bet cutting it with xtra perlite could lighten it up and take some burn out.
I think I've realized something about Prime Day...A lot of the stuff that comes up on sale is repetitive. From products to pricing, it's the same each Prime Day.
I need to remember to look closer at 3D printer stuff but all the gardening stuff is the same. The Vivosun and ACI stuff, all General Hydroponics products, meters, and aerogarden stuff all repeats itself. So when it comes to those things all we have to do is stock up and wait it out until the next prime day to restock and never buy those products at any other time.
Also run the Capital One coupon code program and that thing will take what we find on Amazon and compare it's price across the web. That's how I found the Vivo controller discounted $40 at walmart.
I was hesitant about keeping my hydro projects going because of cost but remembered the Nova stuff I bought, I got on prime day sale. So I looked at it again and sure enough, it was on sale again so I restocked. Got a $30 bottle of nutes for $18 + the $1 digital credit on slower shipping. So that can help keep costs down and let me keep having fun with the water gardening. Speaking of which I found a new project to get into but more on that later.
I used to think it was just random stuff on sale but there's definitely a pattern to it. Now I just need to remember to look up filament and rosin bags on prime days

first off no worries on the spectrum, the last run i ran even numbers all the way through veg and part way into flowering. i started with 10-10-10 and each week went up another 10% by time i had cotton tops i was at 100%. it worked well and then once budding started i lowered the blue and went with CLW's suggestions on spectrums and ran the flower and finish to their specs.
so i thought this time i would try their settings all the way through from the beginning.

the problem was i really didn't know the light was this powerful. for one i was used to the 275, second i had a whole conversation with myself about it and i thought well if i put this seed outside and the sun would grow it there is no way possible that this light is stronger than the sun so i'm good. so i decided to start the seedling spectrum at 25%, two days later i went to 50% and by the end of week one i was at full 39-49-99 and still thought i was good, that's when i took that photo at the end of week one. a day later we left for the weekend and when i came back sunday they didn't look good so i put the light back to 50% and then made that post on monday night but i think the damage was already done over the weekend. i also didn't think it was the light so i panicked and put them in what i thought was hotter soil because i thought the seed starter wasn't strong enough (i'll get into the soil later)
i really still want to stick with CLW suggestions again and i just didn't think the light could hurt them. i found out first hand how strong the 550 is.
so my plan is to go back to the 10% per week like last round but this time with the different spectrum ratios. so i've turned back the clock because the three seedlings that look ok didn't get put in soil till oct 4th wednesday night, by this time you and anthem chimed in and let me know it was the light strength. so these three seem to be doing okay and here is where i'm at right now. i have the one ARC and two bubbles...

so as far as the rings and soil.... never thought of this either but the good news is i wasn't using the rings and just put them in sunday night. when we got home. on sunday i changed everything... this is part of my issue i shotgun approach almost everything, sometimes it works and all the time i don't learn much because i don't know what really fixed the problem...
this round i wanted to grow in all COM starting with seed starter then vegging in harbor blend and flower in stonington and adding nothing to the soils at all and just feeding with all greengro nutes.
all the core six seedlings i had all were put in soil thursday the 28th. i put them in the seed starter and it wasn't till the following sunday when i saw the yellowing. so that sunday is when i started the new set of bubbles thinking i might lose a couple plants here.. turns out i'll probably lose all six. so those seedlings wern't in the habor bend till the damage was already done. up until then they were in the starter mix. i just put them all in the harbor blend sunday night.
the seed starter is .40-.11-.07
bar harbor is also just .40-.11-.07
and the stoneington is .50-.34-.12
so no i wasn't too worried the harbor blend was going to be to hot, and the three i have now have been in there all week from just little youngins and i don't see anything bad.
but i have six seeds in the VG right now and i will go back to the way i wanted in the beginning with seed starter mix in my small square containers and then when they're ready i will put them in the airpots with harbor blend. if by chance any of the core six survive then bonus!
one thing i wanted to mention about the harbor blend.. you said it was heavier, i noticed that too.. then i saw the bags were actually bigger and you get the full 2cu ft. versus only 1.5 of most others...
so no, i don't know for sure if the water rings are bad but they wern't in play for this round yet and currently i have two of the three healthy plants under rings and one is not at the moment so this will test that out for sure!!!

it can be used very lightly on seedlings so i'm going to try. i chose this plant here... bubbles #1, she looked like she had the most stress of the three. so she will get one light spray per day as directed and the other two will get the rings and just rain water with vitamin B. the vit B is already mixed in so i can't take it out. i add it every time i fill the rain barrel and i have been doing this for years so i don't see any problems with my water.
so this bubbles is going to get the test, here she is just seconds before the first spray...

three decent seedlings, six dead ones and six more seeds popped and currently growing tails. for now and for the whole next week i am going to leave the light at 4-5-10 until the new seedlings are a full week in soil, then i will go to 8-10-20 and continue at 10% per week until i move them to the other cabinet then i will adjust from there being that there are two 550's in that cabinet.
so that's my grand plan and how i got there. what do you think? now knowing all that is it sound enough as a base to start somewhere safe at?
yeah i could do exactly the same as you and ask you about every detail and i know you would share but i kinda like trying my own thing out and sometimes i totally fail, but i learn... i remember back when we were with the bubbleheads, somebody had a siggy that said "love many, hate few, and always paddle your own canoe!!" i've always loved that saying and kinda live my life that way!!

I was thinking very unlikely the soil since you had changed that but the problem persisted.
Those CLW recs are eyebrow raising considering the pocket Hercules nature of the 550. Do they give operating height with those or just spectrum? Some pics I see of the 550 in commercial ops are like 12-15' above the garden!
I think you're very on point. There's no better way to diagnose and fix then it being ourselves and working thru it. Asking is always ez but it's hard for another, I'm saying this from my experience, to peek into another grow and fix it via remote. It's why I don't ask for much help because what's online and what everybody sees is way different than actually being here, seeing and feeling the grow.
We can guess and sometimes it's an ez problem to id and fix remotely but yeah I'll always feel the best way to a repair is working thru it and noting what worked and what made it worse. We become experts at the process of elimination that way and failure is an excellent teacher and motivator for that matter.
The toughies will always be light effects and when it's too strong. There's a tendency to it but at the same time you can have three different ill plants all showing a different illness but all three are light related. Those are the hard ones and even tripped me up working with the spectramax and going thru that process of elimination between heat, bad dirt, and not using my light correctly.
That WVU game was crazy at the end! WVU had victory secured but after that go ahead score with only 12 seconds left, the WVU QB got a taunting penalty which pushed the kickoff back. So the coogs got the ball in great field position and in two plays got into hail Mary position. And the hail Mary fucking worked! Craziest ending to a ball game this year I'd bet. WVU was shell-shocked after that. Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory is the only way to describe it.
That's why I'll always believe the best football played is college football.
Good thing though is WVU losing puts us back in the driver seat for a rematch vs OU for the Big12 title. Bitter for you, sweet for me and I aint sorry for that hahaha!
