I don’t follow the races but that barrel roll made the news the other night. And he got out on his own without injury. (Took him to hospital but later released.)

so i got a new toy alert... a couple weeks ago i was talking about if the 275 could veg out my plants long enough. i still think it could but i went out looking for a second 275, couldn't find one used at all but scored a crazy good deal on this gem in showroom condition!!

everything works on it, it was dropped for sure... battle tested maybe.. idk but for $123 i took a chance!!! i think it's a second gen, you would know better than me but it has the higher kelvin color white where my other two have the hps yellow looking white.

I think I saw that one come up on my ebay saved search a couple weeks ago. Everyday I get about a dozen emails from ebay so I can snatch up hard to find shit like that Briscoe mini-helmet. Anyways, one of those emails is everything CLW listed on ebay comes thru my inbox. I saw that one and wondered WTF was that guy doing with that light??!! Looked like it got in a fight with a bear!
So damn funny to see it in the luvshack now hahahaha!!!

Yeah that crisp white is likely 2nd gen and there's a date stamp on the side too..Usually...That one might have lost it's stamp in the war.

Right now I'm in a love hate relationship with that new big fucker in my room. I am so tempted to scrap the plan and go back to the 550s for starting and veg. I just don't know if it's an all in one light like the 550s or even dimmable CMH for that matter. Sometimes it just feels like I'm trying to veg with a dimmable 1000 watt HPS and let's face it...in 2023 that's just dumb.
So IDK...Maybe another week or two before I decide on major changes like lights. And I hate doing that..My golden rule is never change nutes or lights mid grow so if I'm thinking of doing it, there's a damn good reason.

And IDK why Murder Truck is trying to look all shiny and nice. It is FILTHY!!!!! Especially the interior. Last time I ran it thru the car wash the damn brushes ripped my front license tag off but yeah I'm gonna have to scour groupon or something and get it detailed

so if it's one thing i learned from you is to never buy a clw light without knowing that date.. you said if any honest seller hides it then it ain't honest! so i knew the sticker had 5/18 on it before i bid. funny thing is though, i got outbid and didn't win the auction. i accepted it and moved on... the seller contacted me days later and we actually negotiated a price back and forth a few times and he sold it to me!!! i was skept for sure... ya know i've won bids for more than one of these lights that didn't pan out so i was waiting till it was here in the shack and it actually communicated with the controller and other lights. he kept going on about the shipping cost and i don't listen to any of that, i add the total price to get it to me and that's all i care about... some people think free shipping matters and i care about what i pay out of pocket for the whole adventure... duh!!

i don't understand, clw had a long time to develop this new series. if they knew it wasn't as good they should have either squashed it or sold it as a cheaper more affordable series and redirected their efforts back into the solar system series. we've seen other fly by the night pinoc led companies that have done this kind of thing in the past but i would never think that clw would follow.. kinda messed up.

those par results you took were a bit alarming in the beginning and it just sucks that you even gotta ponder this or question it!

is there any way you can hang the SS up there too at the same time? then you could just move the cables and swap trollers. i need to get over to your thread tonight anyway... saw part of that garage yesterday!!!!

You can get them from medical supply places too. My step father had to do dialysis at home and they included blue hose clips/clamps like that.

The only thing I can tell other than what we see with the human eye with that crisp white vs HPS white is the 1st gen lights can bleach bud tips a lot easier. In fact my 2nd gen has never bleached a tip, only my original gen 1. There may be a 3rd gen in there or maybe a 1,1a, and 2nd gen kinda thing. Other than that they perform exactly the same but CLW does claim the 2nd gen is 5% more efficient whatever that means.

IMO CLW should stay the course and not bend to market popularity.
It did this with those crappy cob lights, the Solar Xtreme.
Yeah it's a decent grow light but those over powered cob diodes need about 5' of space between canopy and light. So those came out and pretty much flopped and can now be had for about a 1/4 original retail price. As much as I love the SS550s, I equally hated the SX.

Now we have this Max1000. Obviously on the market because blurple is outdated and unpopular and bar style lights with white spectrum are in. Everything is about PPFD, charts, and graphs in these new led light wars and that's how it's being marketed.

With the SS550 it was about cannabinoids. Underwhelming chart data and all that but holy fuck could it oil up a plant. I saw it right away. You see it. Cool Beans is seeing it. That's the hook and bait. Not a fucking trend with light nerds and data sheets.
Stick to that! Stixck to blurple and own that shit. Who gives a fuck what Gavita, Fluence, Vipar and all these others are doing. CLW is the only ones targeting cannabinoids with the SS550. That's their wheelhouse and that's why I stick with CLW. But I'm also not married to the fuckers and have been using their lights for over ten years so I kinda feel like I have some info to back this up and be critical towards CLW just as much as I'll give credit and respect for what they build.

10 days into my first SS550 grow I knew I had something pretty baddass and very user friendly with that light. I could tweek the spectrum for an enhanced result and would see that result pay off immediately.
This one has me scratching my head and grasping at straws. What I think should happen does for a day or two, but goes wonky and ill later so I adjust again. This week I got fed up and went to the extreme. I'm gonna find out if this thing is legit or just a PITA to operate and dial in. I do feel if I find that dialed in zone it's over and it will kick some ass but getting there is testing my patience and skillset.

I'll update tonight. I did some shit yesterday and wanna see what they did in response so there's some anticipation today.

i couldn't agree more man, they should just make what they're good at and not care what fads are in.

i really have been noticing the bleaching these past couple rounds, i never got bleaching with the turntable. some weird stuff though, my lowest plant has the worst of it!! i expect the tall ones trying to eat the light to be affected but not the lowest plant in the group, must be a tender girl!!!

but like ya say the resin production is through the roof and i'll take that along some bleaching any day!!! (comparing it to my other types of lights used not the different gens of clw)

i have some plans after this round is done that should give me 6-8 inches of more headroom so i'll see if that helps any.

ya know maybe there's a chance that your new light 's time to shine is in flowering and not as strong in veg. might be worth letting it ride out.

They all did individual qualifying laps and then,,,,, 20 of them on the track at once!!!
Was outrageous, but their trucks that pulled the racers around may have been the real deal.
Waited till after the races and road home with the big boys on our scooters!
Wild ride on the back roads that I will never forget.

Well you don't want a bad change, you only want a good change when you fork out the dough ray me for some giant bar light. Why they are much harder to adjust or feel like you're in the groove maybe yes, that also happened; oppsoposilutely not what you wished. 8" floppy discs aren't coming back, that we know & light futures are very bright indeed.

Last time I was at a truck show and race, Reagan was still in office
The funny thing is I started looking for a new avatar and google image searched "bandit racing". There was a racoon doing peace signs I thought was cool then I saw the trucks. Then I saw a #14 truck with a Superman paint scheme and was like "Fuck yeah!"
As I dug deeper I realized the truck racing league is called The Bandit Big Rig Series. Cant make this shit up and the funny there too is the truck racing in the beginning of Smokey and The Bandit is my favorite scenes of that movie!
So yeah now I've been watching videos of truck racing at Bristol...they're as crazy as you might think they should be. The drivers are called Bandits and they have some clever nicknames like the #14 is "Rude" Ricky Proffett. And they have sponsors with names like Big'uns Nuts.

One of these days I'm gonna get out to one of the local tracks. People around here aren't into that so I gotta go out towards rural Houston and East Texas but yeah there's figure 8, demolition derby, late model and outlaw sprints on dirt...All kinds of fun stuff but I gotta drive about 2-3 hours to get there.

Bandit do you know if that is a legit picture of his car after Darlington? I could see damage on the top of the rear fender on TV but if that is the car after the race it was a lot worse than I thought! That guy was so close to the wall for so many laps it was insane to watch.

My #5 is from 2021 when he pretty much did what Ross Chastain did last year at Martinsville with a wall ride. He ran down the 11 on the wall but the 11 blocked him from taking the checker. Sunday nights car did have some damage but not to this extent

Did you catch the crew checking the back side of the wheels for a worn pin hole. I did not first realize what Nascar required as part of the single wheel nut. The hubs have a spring pin that will lock into the back of the wheel to help keep the wheel on the hub if it becomes loose.

The funny thing is I looked at my sheet yesterday to see who I have for Kansas and it's Byron. I had Larson for Darlington but with the error they were flipped around. I wasn't sure what happened because I had flipped some drivers around late in the season before I entered my sheet but it was on them and they fixed it. If I pull this off were splitting that pot!
That damn JJ pick at the end though..Man that's a bad pick. I'm gonna tune my strategy for next year to also include manufacturer data along with consistent top 15 finishes the past 3 seasons and definitely avoid any part time drivers and rookies except for SVG at Chicago. I think I'm building a plan to run away with it next season but let sentiment and nostalgia ruin too many picks this year

ah man look at that you had the winner... man you got that score a couple times this year so far now huh? poor julie having gragson, she's never done this good in her own pool!! so it looks like she'll have 384 points so if byron does 13th or better you'll pass her. and then depending on how elliott does you'll be duking that one out with a seven point swing... man that is tight scores!!! a lot of people run out of good drivers and have to stretch for guys around now, this is when i save my best drivers. they seem to race harder in the playoffs so i like to save all the good drivers for this part of the season. that's why i went with briscoe, i thought he'd make the playoffs and would be driving extra hard this week to make the first cut. he had a great race last week so hopefully they have the momentum. i had both larson and briscoe's radio on saturday night and man they really need to get their headsets fixed. the crew chief asked him for a balance report when he gets a chance, this was with like 10-15 laps left before the end of the first stage. so briscoe starts telling them what he feels in the car with great detail. while he's talking the crew chief and spotter are on channel two talking shit about how they can't hear him because of his mic... bullshit!! i heard him fine!! and i had both scanners on and whiney ass burton telecasting the tv at the same time, with my ac blowing in my ear!!! so after briscoe tells him this the crew chief says.. no, wait just tell me what you biggest problem is.. one thing at a time bud... no, fuck you man, do your job better. listen to the driver and make all the changes! not just one at a time!!! they were bitching about not hearing him at least three times on channel two.. fuckin fix it!! that's bs man, i felt bad for briscoe having that happen and he doesn't even know about it. i wish i was leading his team, i'd at least listen to what he has to say and if i can't hear him i'd ask him to repeat it like a normal person does!! that kinda ticked me off when i first heard it. but man you'll be fine with JJ.. he ruined the team but he still knows how to drive. as long as his car holds up he'll finish well. he sucked it up that first race so his next one will be better.
