What weed grinders do you like? Do you even grind?

when i first started reviewing vapes, I purchased a space case directly from them and a space case from dhgate. One was $100, one was $3. They're nearly identical.

Edit: sorry for double reply
Hi sir, thank you from the thread. Since you've mentioned.. Which is the best price benefit vape in your opinion?. Because it's been very confusing to find one for around 60 euros, but decent one. My budget is really low at the moment.

Yikes, you're rich. $89 Usa + shipping + tax + duty and maybe a tariff or two= wholly fk that's expensive

Nah I just don't have kids and all my shit like home and car is paid off except for yearly property taxes.
It was $89 flat for me, no xtra fees, free shipping, and it shipped from Utah so no taxes either.
Xhale is a startup offering it for $60 off it's MSRP right now. Even at $150 it's less than other slicers like Klip

I was at a friends today. No grinder around and needed to roll one up. Did it the old fashioned way and broke my bud up by hand. Something to be said about hand broke up course bud. Didn’t take as much flower since it wasn’t ground to fine. Same effect and got the same size diameter joint. Weighed less than I typically roll. So food for thought.

The Little Things We Take for Granted...

Just ordered. Thanks. Of all the new grinders I have researched this is the most affordable. My concern is material used, snd/or any coatings etc.

It was $5 less than my 4" Diamond Grind traditional style grinder so that was a plus but yeah not too sure about the coating. Would prefer to see it raw aluminum.
I'm pretty sure the blade and screen will be stainless steel while the rest will be aluminum.

Typically, I don't use a grinder for smoking but do use one to test weed since you get a more accurate cannabinoid test result when the herb is homogenized.

I have many grinders from hi-end to freebie cheap shit that comes with a pack of seeds or something.
IMO, they're all the same and do the same thing. Maybe Storz & Bickel is above the rest but it's still pretty much the same type of grind, just made of better material than others.
Most grinders crush and mutilate rather than actually grind. So I'll give the blade style a try and see if I like it. Main thing I wanted to see was no pillars in the grind chamber and a clean slicing blade, not serrated.

KTEL, it slices, it dices!

Update on XHale Grinders.

Still waiting to receive the product. Website indicates a two week waiting period before shipping.

I reached out to Josh, the co founder. I specifically asked about materials used and, if applicable, any coatings used.

His answer included the following, Food Grade SS blades. No coating on any surface that comes in contact with cannibas.

I thanked him for his reply and repeated his answer, to confirm he knows I read it, and then asked him to finish answering the questions regarding materials and coatings, that he ignored or dodged. And no, I didn't call him out. All my communications are respectful and professional.

I did not get a response.

Can't wait to receive the product. Although I am not worried about the money, the actions or inaction of the company concerns me. Had I known this was their business practices, I would have saved my money.

I have ZERO tolerance for shady companies and right now, XHale is shady as fuck, in my book. I know, I own this. I am the one who jumped right into the kiddy pool and drank the kool aid. But again, the money is irrelevant. It's the company and shady lack of communication.

I will say this, when Josh didn't respond to my second email, I waited a few days, as one does, and responded back saying the following...

"Have not heard back. I'm wishing you good vibes in hope all is good. Please respond when you are able."

Just a heads up. I am hoping I am just paranoid.

I just ordered the one I linked.
They were on sale so have 2 coming for $55.
Will let everyone know if it works or not.
I like the idea of chopping with sharp blades.

Pretty much the same here and it's the same thing I've dealt with buying something from a start-up in the past. I saw the lead time on orders and still ordered since I'm in no hurry for it.
Xhale is just a one man operation and even though he gives a physical address, it's still actually just a PO box.
My guess is he's making them when they get ordered in a machine shop or garage. Maybe he has a few demo units to take to cannabis cups and festivals but it does have wonky start-up biz tendencies I've seen in this industry many times before.
After six weeks from order I'll inquire and if I don't hear back in 24 hours, paypal claim.
I used paypal just in case I'd need an ez way to get my money back

I mean, really...come on. The website is littered with accolades from the likes of HT.

How bad could it be?

Here's me hoping and wishing.

Like you Bandit, I too, am in no hurry and can wait. Money isn't the issue either. We are just supporting the industry and are the quick ones to jump in. Hell, I paid premium dollars for a grinder from Grinders For Life, a Brilliant Cut Grinder, and with much regret.

Anyways, I bought into the hype cuz I needed some relief for my old tired hands and they claimed there was zero restrictions when grinding. I mean, I am not stupid, but all the videos made the SAME claim, and it appeared to work on the videos as there was no restrictions and after initial breakup of the bud, the fuckers were spinning the top with bud inside, with one finger. I was dooped.

I reached out to get replacement for what I thought was a defect. No no no my friend, it's used and you are past the point of no return. How the fuck are you supposed to know if it sucks, if you don't try it? I should have lied and claimed I tested it on basil, as it was no problem for them to make false claims.

Total garbage. Money wasted. The $25 Amazon grinder toasted the Brilliant Cut. Embarrassing, actually, for Grinders For Life.

So goes the lessons learned, or in this case...not learned. I just did it again with Xhale, by jumping in. Oh well, it is a little fucked, but whatever. That's what people like Bandit and I are good for. Checking shit out and letting you all know how it went. Hope I didn't insult you Bandit, by including you on my rant. My apologies if so.

Naw man I'm not insulted. I've been one to jump in without looking many times before. I enjoy it really. ;fafo
There's so many products I've been in on the ground floor.
Airpots was one of the best. Got in with them back in 2010.
I have a bong made of carbon fiber from and airplane manufacturer who decided to start making bongs but eventually fizzled out. He doesn't make bongs anymore and went back to making airplane parts but today, I have a carbon fiber bong I can drop off a 7 story building and not break it. 😋

Another, Purpl Pro THC testing has had it's ups and downs I'm not sure many could take it before bailing out. I stuck with them and it eventually paid off. Now that device I bought for only $900 as a startup in 2016 is selling for $1600 and a pillar in the industry. Same thing with CLW lights, getting in early and cheap then watched the company explode in popularity.

And there's been failures along the way. Many of them but none that have broke the bank, just products that under-delivered.
The business model Xhale is using is one I've seen lots of times before. It's 50/50 success/failure at this point

Reading what concerns you about grinders along with other replies here and what my own needs for one in regards to testing potency demands, I've decided to take on this project of developing a new grinder or slicer.
I'm pretty much using meat grinder tech similar to the new "slicers" like Xhale and Klip. I'm not interested in a crusher style grind. I need the weed to homogenized for testing, not mauled and mutilated with resin left behind in the grinder. Pretty much trying to get a touchless effect.
Still in R&D stages now but here's where it's going with the first rough prototype....

Not too happy with this blade that came with my kit so will be using a different one when it gets here Thursday. The new style will look like a Chinese throwing star and be slightly more dangerous.
All blue plastic is food grade 3d printer filament and all steel is food grade as well but more on precautions in a bit....

I consider kief collection in a grinder to be a useless and futile feature.
I'd rather have a grinder that doesn't keep anything so I've made the bottom collection bowl shaped and will later either adapt a stainless steel or food grade silicone bowl insert so no trich is left behind

Meat grinder plates. Lots of options to use in regards to how fine or chunky you want the grind and they can easily be removed along with the blade for cleaning in an iso soak

The top and Spinner for the blade are still just a drawing on my PC but will come to life at some point today. Still working on perfecting the center part with spokes so it's on it's third print and each print for that part is a little over 7 hours.

The top that will have contact with the herb will have a silicone liner between it and the herb.
Eventually as it develops, the only plastic herb will come in contact with will be the spokes and side wall which are both food grade. Every other contact point will be either food grade silicone or food grade stainless steel. I would consider the toxicity contamination to be less than that of using a sandwich baggie for carrying some weed around.

Bud Wakker arrived today and is sooo nice for a bubble gum type tool.
Easy pull and quick to chop up buds.
Easy to see what is going on and how chopped up your bud is.
Brand new it gets a great rating.
I'll check in after a few miles.
It looks easy to clean so?

It looks like I’d break it. I’m careful with my stuff but I try to buy long lasting tools. I hope it’s up to your testing. 🍀

It’s been about seven days since you last posted on this… you get it yet or has it even been shipped?
