It's about weed growing and weed growing accessories I tell you what!

Hey, I'm just back from Vegas and I was googling cannabis photography and I read about black lights being used. I Amazoned and found $20 Black lights - Ultra Violet that google says plants can use for minimal UVC I thought WTF ordered...lol. Black,Blue, Red,Green, full spec. Now to figure out what does what and how to use them. 10 wat, pretty if nothing else1755565414124.png

What do you have for pumps in there, curious mind want to know

Nothing fancy at all Buddy and everything came from amazon.
Here's the air pump I'm using. Good thing it came with an airstone because I'm using it too. The air tube was cheap and rubbery, possibly toxic?, so I used 1/4" black polypro irrigation tubing for the air tube

This is the pump I'm using to move water from the rez to the grow bed. I had bought it years ago for aquaponics though

I also have these pumps and they're great moving water around from,my outside tank to my indoor tank. The previous link is a better pump but these would do great too

I'm using 1/2" Hydrofarm polypro tubing from a hydroshop but it could probably be found online. I bought my spool in bulk long time ago and have been nursing off the 100' roll for close to ten years lol.

And this is the flood and drain plumbing kit I'm using

Those are probably just like the AC Inifinity UV bars I have.
I'd cut off that switch and plug then wire up a driver into them, push them up to around 25-40 watts each 😈

Thanks man. I'm gonna need to get something going soon. That gives me a good start point.

I may keep a flood table going. There's so many ideas in my head and they're coming in tidal waves.
Been doing this awesome type of therapy where I lay down in heavily salted water so I float and the chamber is sensory depriving so there's no sound or light. Just floating in silence like being in warm outer space.
Football players use the chamber for physical therapy and I use it to get high and trip balls inside.
That's where the idea hit me.
One issue with flood tables is that they need to be elevated above the reservoir.
Well with hydraulic tables I can work around that by keeping my tall and narrow rez and the grow bed down on the floor. All I need to do is raise the tables when it's time to flood and drop them back down once they've drained off.
I could also run two tables off one rez by using two pumps, one for each table, and flip flopping the flood cycles. Instead of needing a 60 gallon rez, my 30 will do just fine but I'll need to change it more often, like once a week instead of every two weeks.
Hempys will still be done too, like half the room flood table and the other half hempy.

They use that for nevers?..

Well hmmm.... Throw in some more parameters while thinking about it. That's a good one, in a tent a table is probably to much messing around.
Ebb and flow bucket systems are attractive in regards to this situation.
... I still have made up my mind what I'm going to do Auto pots are good too! I don't have time for that in my head today
I do believe that the scrog system is the proper way for me to apply my gardening techniques.....🤨😁 nah man jk...
Pretty sure it's the only way I'm gonna keep it under some kind of control and get the return that I ask...IDK...

One thing I DO know is I'm tired of packing water buckets so weather i build or buy I've gotta come up with something. I will and it'll be 🆒 🆒 man;gr

Yeah nerves, anxiety, stress, pain...pretty much an all of the above type therapy.
There's options like in this video for people who don't have access to it, like cryotherapy which is today's version of an ice water soak. We use both and the public can go do it for a fee if there's a place in town.
It can be a weird and creative high for me, almost like a trip for some clarity on a subject. An enlightening so ideas come flooding in.
They're pretty much hi end holistic alternatives to medications. Every NFL team has these and most elite college programs have it too. Our pods are shaped different, made xtra big for larger humans, but do the same thing

I've used the F&D buckets systems several times in the past and they're always ez and productive.
Floating medium is still an issue so use something like expanded shale in the bottom layer to weigh the inner bucket or bag down.
Some experience with autopots but just enough to know they're not for me. I just don't like wick hydro much for what I want to do.

I hate packing water too and is why I went so all in on my water system. It takes about 3 hours but it will move 50 gallons forty feet to my tank indoors for me so I'm not killing my back doing that shit anymore.

All this time I still haven't watched Stranger Things. Got about 3-4 episodes in when it was new and got sidetracked. Haven't got a chance to pick it back up since.

🔥

Eventful weekend planned up starting today.
Broke camp Wednesday night now it's 3 days of game week simulation then into game week. No more two-a-days! ;roc
Timing is lining up great with work and garden project...

Leaves from the plants are touching leaves from other plants so I need to spread them out more.
I'm gonna go ahead and take my two big trays to the hydroshop and get them drilled and plumbed today. Get it ready for changing on Sunday. It's gonna go from the 2x2 bed to a 3x3 bed and rez increase from 15 gallons to 30 gallons.

Also need to get prices checks on medium there, see if I can save and not order thru amazon. 50/50 perlite coco is an ez blend to make but I need to check the coco since not all coco is equal. I'm getting top shelf from Fox Farm so I wanna find that for less. 2 rinses and it's good to go and I like that.
I don't want coco I have to wash out 100 times to rid it of salt.

Hempy bags are in but I still have to procure the thinner and larger bags I want for the flood tables. Will start assembling the hempys and what they might look like.
Can't decide yet to put my mums in hempy or soils. Probably hempy but not sure yet

Good stuff happening in the backyard too! Melons are getting some yellow spot so I think they're getting ripe. Freaks are getting fat and the Fun Haze is all kinds of stinky good! Smells like good ol skunk with a hard splash of lemon. I think it's a Super Lemon Haze and can really tell from the odor. Nice to have a plant or two that smells like weed again and not a damn donut shop or fruity baby food

picture updates on Sunday

Those float tanks are sweet, from what I hear. My best friend is into those things and he loves them. He describes it as an easy access to meditation, which just opens the doors of infinity.

There's a meditative practice of leaving your body and entering a "library" where all the questions you could ever ask are in a book somewhere on the shelf. Sort of like a Shining or Dr. Sleep sort of deal where he locked away all the baddies.

Meditation has drastic effects on our health. It can nearly erase stress and allow you to openly confront some anxieties, similar to therapy. Like you said... a trip.

-------

I left my body intentionally, once. I've never been able to get back there, but I get close with a small dose of mushrooms.

I worked towards the out-of-body experience that can come with meditation and finally achieved it. I knew it was something special when I took the batteries out of the clock and I could still hear it loud as hell. I worried more about getting back than exploring anything beyond my "kitchen." It was an uneasy feeling, no doubt. Like... how do I get back to myself and do I really want to sort of existential crisis. I've tried again numerous times to no avail.

I had teenage kiddos watching it at the time. I do remember is being entertaining, though. Time period it's set in brought back some memories, for me.

I'm really enjoying following this. I'm learning and getting inspiration from every post. You seem pretty excited, too. It's nice knowing the fun factor is still there after years of experience. I'll take that as a positive sign that this will hold my interest, while I'm remain on the right side of the soil.

Keeping those melons going so well in your climate has to be an impressive accomplishment 👊

i used to be into astral projection in my twenties.. i still use a form of it to help fall asleep some nights.

In my mid teens I found a small black hard cover book that covered Astral Projection. Had me go over the route I wanted to do over and over for a period of time. One night it worked. I opened my eyes and I was floating just below the ceiling. I turned my head and saw myself in bed. Terrified I panicked and woke myself up. A few minutes later I was excited and tried again but was unable to do it again.

Was it real or a extremely vivid dream, IDK? A girlfriend borrowed the book a few days later after I shared the experience. Never saw it again.

Which seed test and project is this?
Sorry if I missed it, just been stretched thin last few weeks and barely remember what I did an hour ago.

Heck yeah man you get it!
The retail options for this are kinda hokey. Like custom music and lighting for the customer is pointless because you use earplugs + your ears are under water and eyes are closed so lighting is pointless too.
Our space is dark and quiet, There are 4 TV but are on mute and really more for while you sit in the sauna.
But this, as kooky as it looks, is my zen spot second to only my backyard on a cool evening with BBQ smoke in the air

IMG_9090[1].jpeg

The sauna on the right is just 140 degrees of relaxation. Gets my blood pumping, sweat like crazy, detox, ease pain and stress, just awesome.
To the left is the Dead Sea pod with the salt water.
I leave the hatch open since the room is dark and lay flat and still in the water floating.
I can't explain what happens but I'd liken it to yes, a mild mushroom trip early on and well before peaking. It's dream like but awake. It's interdimensional and space travel inside the mind. Like those moments before you drift into sleep and you see light bursts and things like gaseous cloud bursts into vivid colors.
And after, there's clarity.
Like if I'm thinking about something before I go in, even if I had been thinking about it and it became a back burner thought, the idea will come back with clarity or an answer to a solution I wasn't considering.
It's cool we can touch these parts of our minds without drugs or booze and really it helps to not want those things either.
It's hard to quantify but I do believe these alternative things I've been doing to my health in combo with meds and doctor recs has really helped me be a better me and not have any thought about wanting booze or foods that can hurt my heart health

Thanks man. I checked the melon vines and still very green so they're still pumping water and nutes into the melons. They're popping new blooms and fruit too so IDK...they may go until it freezes!
I feel I did a good job getting fruit and veggie genetics suited for hot weather and it's paying off well. The cherry tomatoes just keep coming in waves and now we're tired of them. Even the squirrels have had their fill hahaha!

Excited and having fun because I'm pretty sure I'm out of my slump of bad grows and have just finished another Summer football camp.
27th camp and the 12-14 hour work days don't get easier as I get old. But it's over, back to normal 8-10 hour days only 6 days a week so I'm looking forward to those Sundays off again.
The garden doing well and having fun with hydro-coco again is the icing on the cake.

Isolation tanks while sounding very cool and interesting to me also always make me think of one movie.

I had to look it up but this movie is on Prime video to own for only $5.
May have to splurge on this but gonna watch the trailer first.

There's long been rumors about a secret government research lab under our stadium. Part of it is due to the tunnel system under campus and just urban legend but they don't need to go underground to find weird rooms and shit on campus.
Everything from bodies and body parts to nuclear shit can be found here if they know where to look.
There's probably some drug lab or weird lets see what happens when I do this type shit going on too.

That shit trips me out because it's next dimension type stuff but real if you dive deep enough. Freaky shit fellas!

🔥

trip to the hydro shop was productive yesterday!
Got my tray drilled and sourced the perlite and coco.
Basically for the price of a bag and a half of FF Cream of the Crop 50/50 blend I got these and can make about 4-5 bags of the same stuff for the same price.
Cost of medium per grow just went from around $160 to under $75. Premium soils would be about $200/$240 for the same volume

i used to be into astral projection in my twenties.. i still use a form of it to help fall asleep some nights.
I was too, Lobsang Rampa was a phony mystic, that wrote a few books on it. He was exposed years later as a bloke from southern England, he made it all up and sold some books. I still use the astral travel if I have trouble getting to sleep. I try to pull myself out and head to the airport. I know the route by heart and if I can concentrate on the task I usually can drift off. Or I'll try to go up into space and see the world from above. He had a phrase to chant while drifting off about remembering all travels in the astral plane....I'm a great dreamer. I have a fantastic dream world. My wife says she never dreams or at least can't remember any. I think old Lobsang helped me out, phony or not.

i have long vivid dreams too, sometimes they wake me up if they're too real and then i fall back asleep and pick the dream up right where i left off.. just freaky sometimes.

i'm not sure if i ever had true projection, not to a clear visual of it anyway. more a deep relaxation/meditation mindset of total euphoria.

i like to pretend i'm going up an old rollercoaster.. click click click click all the way to the top. then when the coaster drops i don't, i pretend to float from the top of the tracks and watch the coaster varoom down the hill.

i also like to do the relaxing and calling out each body part to relax from my toes to my head, i rarely get past my calves and i'm out like a light!

i always seem to struggle to get tired, once i'm tired i crash in minutes. but if i'm not ready i'll lay there for hours. sometimes the meditation is needed just to get myself tired.

Oh sweet.. so I have a few spots like this a work. Gonna have to strip down and try to relax one of these nights 🤣
We have some of those kinds of spots where I work, too. Not much relaxing happening in them, tho . Some are hot enough to cook food in. Years ago, but a buddy got a boar with his bow. He slow cooked some barbecue in one of those big aluminum roasting pans covered in foil. Just set it in a hot spot in the equipment and let it simmer. Sometimes so-so food just tastes better at work. Sorta like coffee when you're camping. All of us raved about that barbecue, though.

Oh you had wondered about seedlings and the Strawberry.
And I had the in the other stuff. I had to find out...that is all

Got it.
I thought the grocery store still carried Strawberry Fields but not since last year so it never made my considerations.
I haven't tested all my soils yet but I suspect many have a pH below 5.5 or right around 5.5. City tap water sources are usually around a high 8 to 9.5 and even as high as 10.0.
I think this plays a role in why and how FoxFarm is popular nationwide.
It's the go-to for all my apartment dwelling neighbors and their balcony gardens. Nearly every one, there's a bag of Ocean Forest and Happy Frog on that patio. The Miracle Grow gardens all look like hot garbage but those FF gardens are legit and lush.
I think it's that pH. The low pH in the soil gets balanced by the tap water.
Now these folks aint doing shit to their water before giving it to plant. Straight from faucet to plant and having success with it.
So I kinda played with that....only filtering shit out of it but leaving it's pH super high. Ran it thru the medium and there was the perfect pH I was looking for. Plants are thriving as well. The low soil pH and high water pH work together to make the plant happy.

No big deal, just wanted to find out

Day 14

This past Wednesday tips from leaves started to touch each other so about every 6 hours I was in the rotating and trying to spread them out in the 2x2.

IMG_2030[1](1).jpeg

By Friday night it was time to upgrade to the 3x3 and get them more space and not over crowd.
Also set a new rez solution at 30 gallons. Gave the rez a few hours to settle then flooded the table.
It's set to around 60% strength and it's a two week run so over the two week life of this rez, I'll walk those nutes up to around 75%-80% max strength.
I've also added a yellow sticky trap just to see if I catch anything and maybe missing any bugs. Nothing on the trap so far!

Hand sanitizer pumps worked a treat on the jugs of nutes

IMG_2039[1].jpeg

Started the supplement lighting but IDK...they're over taking the space so quick I think in a few days they'll outgrow this light and I'll turn loose the Spectramax

Activity in the environment during a flood.
Still not using AI.
I'm walking up my supplement lights to max power one tick each day. AI cannot do that. I can set it for a number and that's it, locked in. No flex. I cant tell it to increase light output by 1% each day so I have to do it manually.
Still, wireless control and moisture probing makes this controller worth it.

Making my own 50/50 blend but since my perlite is much finer than FF my DIY is 60/40+crab.
The crab meal is fine like dust too. Not chunky at all
Will of course do side by side comparisons since this grow will be half foxfarm and half diy coco perlite

Cultivation Nation's 3 part is the exact same 3 part sold by Emerald Harvest and Humboldt Nutrients.
Just has a different name but yeah they all come from the same place. They even have similar artwork which is kinda the give-away.
Ingredients and NPKs match for all three brands so whichever was the best deal was my play.
You can use any combo of the brands with each other as if they're all the same brand.
I also wanted clean running and nothing that was A&B + other stuff.
I already plan on doing some trim there by trying out the Lucas Formula, using only micro and bloom from start to finish, in a hempy or two.

I need to be careful I don't stray away from my plan, because I have been checking Humboldt nutrient line out.
I used to use it when I first started I believe I was using your Crystal burst or some shit like that.
But yeah cool enough, most are the same enough.... Botanicare grow looks a little bit lighter than what used to.

Trying to get away from jugs, and just water... Speaking of which... Here's some plants with their leaves touching, that have all been watered with tap water.
And I'd better do something soon.....🤨

All my fishing has let the plants just go....

Very nice work there.
There's a lot of products that are the same just rebranded. Nutes are big on that. There's a few that stand out with their own formula but GH, AN, those above, and more source from the same place.
Botanicare was killed by the covid shutdown and layoffs. Never recovered. Whatever is out there is what's left so no more kind or CNS17, LK or any of that now other than bottles about 5-6 years old. At one point in 2021 there was only one person working at Botanicare to ship out remaining stuff. I'd be surprised if there was still somebody to answer the phone and weird they still have a site up.
That shutdown was brutal to this industry. We lost a ton. We have stuff now like AC Inifinity to fill the void but quality is nothing like the before times

Could be your Botanicare stuff is just old and lost some of it mojo over time. I'm not sure if nutes go bad but do lose something sitting on a shelf for a few years. Salts bind and solidify, needs to be heated and remixed, that sorta thing.
If any has clumped or lost liquid you can revitalize by topping off with warm RO water and shaking the heck out of it

Thanks...
I was getting ready to make an order, and I would have skimmed a few, but at the end I would have chosen the botanicare just by rule
It's been awhile since I've looked at any jug food so it could be the same idk, I did notice a thicker LK when I bought the gal jug. The Pure Blend grow seemed a little to see threw from what I remember.
ITS time to change it up, I suppose , these plants here have been fed very little twice with botanicare .
Sucks cuz now I need to go train another nute company how I grow 🤨😎✌️
