Chocolate Chunk + Purple Hindu Kush in Flood & Drain coco/perlite by Bandit420

While PC tries to turn all the deer in Canada into hood ornaments, here's a day 98 update!
Still being very slow on the ripening but the swelling and chunky bulbous buds are slowing it down finally.
Seeing some purps and yellows starting to pepper in so I've adjusted the environment to get very dry and cold during lights off.

New camera pic. Took about 50 shots, could use 1. It hates using LED grow light for light even more than my phone.

First beef I've bought, cooked, and eaten in almost a year!
Blood test showed I was a little low on iron so I got the go-ahead. Coulda gone nuts with brisket or ribeye but if there was any beef craving I had it was simple and lean....
Flank steak marinated overnight in spicy fajita rub & marinade....upper middle rack of the oven with broiler set to 450.....Smithey cast iron grill;roc....10 minutes each side

Hey, beautiful plants man, just wow. A poke here, you have empathy for Bambi but you can eat 1/2 a cow at a sitting?

I don't give a flying fuck about Bambi but that doesn't mean I wanna see dashcam video of you killing one. It's not that hard to understand. Have some fucking class and keep your gross shit in your own fucking grow journal.

ooooh, and I thought you were a nice guy, my bad you lost all of my respect. I'm out, I like to block dicls

Slowly catching up on everybody's threads. Have hit a several weeks long stretch where my schedule has been determined by others and life has been stingy af about letting me do the things I really want, lol.

Dude, I find about every decision, tweak, customization, etc., you make to be very interesting. I can be slow to understand and learn without personal experience (just not built that way), but you and the others here put so much good info out that some of it sinks in. I'm thankful for that.

I wish smell-o-vision was a thing. Funny how I want to catch a whiff of something so horrible you're exploring ways to avoid it. My opinion doesn't carry the weight of experience, but this grow looks wonderful. It's extra-cool seeing someone with your experience get excited about it, too.

With the Governor the election results, retail seems to be on the way in VA. A buddy who works in a grow facility that supplies medical dispensaries says they're being told they anticipate a 600% increase in employees as they expand operations to the full capacity of their space over the next two-years. Plus, they plan to begin groundbreaking on a dispensary as soon as Spanberger signs the Bill (predicted signing in Feb.). I've been following along to see what people have experienced in other recreational retail states. New jobs are good, but still trying to anticipate the cons. A little web research points to a handful of major players in the medical marijuana sector getting a one-year head start over new and micro businesses. We'll see. Other than concentrates and edibles out West, I haven't found the greatest flower. I have read about some premium growers and boutique shops, tho.

Looking forward to seeing how your harvest goes and what kind of squish you get out of it. Have you put the freeze dryer to good use, yet? I recall you getting one, but my brain isn't remembering if/how much you put it to work.

Hope to catch up on everyone's grows and projects over the upcoming holiday breaks...

Sounds like somethings gotten blown way out of proportion. Thought we had more patience here. Why is it families always seem to argue around thanksgiving?

There are some topics that get zero patience from me. I won't go into all of them but killing animals is one.
Don't spam my thread with a video of you killing or hurting an animal. You'll be firmly told I don't want it. Do it in your own thread or one of several threads that have gone into the sewer with tasteless content on this forum. Needle on about it, especially while I'm trying to beat covid, I'm gonna cuss you out without remorse.

This twisting of it, like a picture of a cooked steak is somehow the same as the steer on the kill line at a slaughterhouse doesn't jive either. Like the difference between art and pornography.
So it's real simple...keep the dead animal videos and pics off this thread. Bad enough I have to smell this garden. I don't need images to match.
If it makes anybody feel better, I cussed out some bitch already this morning for posting a pic of a dead dog ran over in our neighborhood news feed. Fucking depravity of people makes them lose common sense.

Howdy Bob! Been wondering about you lately.
Work ebbs and flows for me and this next few weeks will certainly be very busy too.

You're seeing a grow here that's really been years in the making. The results of what happens when you put everything you've learned into action and you have some of the best possible equipment to make it happen along with some new ideas and techniques.
When i put it together it seems to become more than a grow and it's more like a reckoning.
Not gonna change much for the next grow. Thought I would expand but wont. Don't need to with hauls like this from just a 3x3 bed lol.
Very much in my happy place doing hydro-organics. It's how I was always meant to grow weed. When I pictured this garden in my head it looked pretty close to how it's playing out. Plants got taller than I wanted but I also never expected a few colas to be the size of my lower leg either. Beer bottles are the minimum I prefer but leg size? ;rockb

Great to hear about Va!!! Man...as soon as the coal industry started to get shaky, VA shoulda just pivoted to weed. Colorado economy was in the gutter before weed and now it's an economic powerhouse.
I just don't get political stubbornness on going legal and never have.
Like weed money isn't green enough for some of these guys in Texas.
We could give a million to the Lt Gov and that POS would turn it down but take 750K from booze and private prison lobbyists. Like WTF? Dude has got to be taking money under the table and off the books it's so obvious.

Hit those boutique shops for sure. Big name brand shops, out of state investor shops, and chains are where dispo weed is usually lacking any quality. If they offer a lot of incentives like buy one doob get another free, pass on that stuff. Well maybe try it if it's your fist time and see but there's usually a very good reason why cheap weed is cheap and or free.

Funny you ask about the freeze dryer.
I was getting ready to do a run last weekend but got hit by covid. Thought it was cold or flu but it was the big kahuna bug so the extraction lab stayed shuttered over the weekend.
The entire Supafreak haul I had was around 1/2lb? Give or take an oz.
All of it is on ice right now. Fresh frozen at harvest to be freeze dried and extracted.
That one is exciting because the terps are pineapple bubblegum. I'd love an air freshner of it.
I saw Costco has the freeze dryers on clearance now across the nation so the $1600 Harvest Right FD like mine is only $1200 now. Still spendy but they are plug and play, come with the vac pump, and super ez to use.
Last weekend was my only free time to do it until maybe the Saturday but likely Sunday after Thanksgiving now. Team is in a fight for it's playoffs life right now with the next two games being must wins along with a shortened week next week with the holiday and game the next day. Lots of grinding still to do before I can relax and heat up the ol squishin' machine

Take it ez Bob and don't work too hard man. Holiday season is here and time to chill if ya can!

Not much choice at our Costco. To rich for my blood.

That's just nuts man!
Like I was thinking in an earlier post about cannabis laws in the US vs Canada and the UK....It's wild how these are free democracies but at the same time extremely oppressing with money and at times dictatorship like.
I don't know too much as a very loose observer but it seems like the free health care is nice but the cost is staggering at how it taxes the people. Seems like that would be great for older people but I would bet the youth have a real disdain for the government.
I don't have a solution or anything and enjoy the low prices in the USA but have to pay for insurance thru work. IDK which is better but but damn gubment likes taking our money don't they?

BTW, an OT subject I've been meaning to ask you...has your son gotten into 3D printing a wallet?
My old leather job is wearing out and I'm thinking about making one of those futuristic looking card wallets.
One like these...I want one with the tap pay exposed so I don't even have to take my card out to pay anymore

Hey bud, hopefully that covid shit goes away!

✌️

Thanks Brother. 5 years ducking and dodging that motherfucker and it finally got me. Didn't even know it was still around like that.
Most psychedelic flu I've ever had. Didn't know I had it but wife got it so bad she needed to visit the ER so that's when we got tested and found out.
I was in full body pain and dizzy with fever dreams and so was the wife but the dizzyness and puking got the better of her so we got her checked out. She took 2 IVs and a few meds for dizziness and nausea.
Got better after about 6 hours so they decided not to admit her overnight and sent her home with me ;dance
It's no joke though man. I had always wondered if I ever got it but didn't know..yeah right. You know when you got that asshole. It's starts as the flu then hits a bit different and way harder lasting about 4 days of intense symptoms.
The fever dreams though..I admit I kinda liked it. Closest thing I've had to an acid trip in a very long time! At some point in a state of delirium I got up and changed my profile on Hulu to "Husbandman". Fever dreams man! Make you do weird shit!
Another good thing is my sense of smell is very muted so I don't really smell my stinky garden lately!

Speaking of the garden...The harvest window is beginning to....

For your consideration Ladies and Gents, Purple Hindu Kush.
Nothing fancy here to make you think of sweets and treats. Just an old school throwback to the days of Northern California Skunk Sinsemilla in the late 70, 80s, and thru the 90s. The kinda grass Carl Spackler crossed with Kentucky Bluegrass and cannonballs.
Genetics and where they came from is still a mystery but likely an indica that escaped from an Amsterdam coffee shop and made it's way stateside

Setting up the tent with the same stuff that started this grow so no excuse on equipment.
Also added two 20x20 seedling heat mats hung off the walls for heaters. Forecast looks good in coming days to start a new grow out in the carport tent.
Not sure how or why there are muddy racoon paw prints on my rez?

An experience in patience results in the very first piece of chrome trim I've put on my truck.
Watched it on ebay for about 3 years, waiting for it's price to drop and it finally did!
chrome X nascar X No Limits X burnt orange!!!!
