Chocolate Chunk + Purple Hindu Kush in Flood & Drain coco/perlite by Bandit420

While PC tries to turn all the deer in Canada into hood ornaments, here's a day 98 update!
Still being very slow on the ripening but the swelling and chunky bulbous buds are slowing it down finally.
Seeing some purps and yellows starting to pepper in so I've adjusted the environment to get very dry and cold during lights off.

New camera pic. Took about 50 shots, could use 1. It hates using LED grow light for light even more than my phone.

First beef I've bought, cooked, and eaten in almost a year!
Blood test showed I was a little low on iron so I got the go-ahead. Coulda gone nuts with brisket or ribeye but if there was any beef craving I had it was simple and lean....
Flank steak marinated overnight in spicy fajita rub & marinade....upper middle rack of the oven with broiler set to 450.....Smithey cast iron grill;roc....10 minutes each side

Hey, beautiful plants man, just wow. A poke here, you have empathy for Bambi but you can eat 1/2 a cow at a sitting?

I don't give a flying fuck about Bambi but that doesn't mean I wanna see dashcam video of you killing one. It's not that hard to understand. Have some fucking class and keep your gross shit in your own fucking grow journal.

ooooh, and I thought you were a nice guy, my bad you lost all of my respect. I'm out, I like to block dicls

Slowly catching up on everybody's threads. Have hit a several weeks long stretch where my schedule has been determined by others and life has been stingy af about letting me do the things I really want, lol.

Dude, I find about every decision, tweak, customization, etc., you make to be very interesting. I can be slow to understand and learn without personal experience (just not built that way), but you and the others here put so much good info out that some of it sinks in. I'm thankful for that.

I wish smell-o-vision was a thing. Funny how I want to catch a whiff of something so horrible you're exploring ways to avoid it. My opinion doesn't carry the weight of experience, but this grow looks wonderful. It's extra-cool seeing someone with your experience get excited about it, too.

With the Governor the election results, retail seems to be on the way in VA. A buddy who works in a grow facility that supplies medical dispensaries says they're being told they anticipate a 600% increase in employees as they expand operations to the full capacity of their space over the next two-years. Plus, they plan to begin groundbreaking on a dispensary as soon as Spanberger signs the Bill (predicted signing in Feb.). I've been following along to see what people have experienced in other recreational retail states. New jobs are good, but still trying to anticipate the cons. A little web research points to a handful of major players in the medical marijuana sector getting a one-year head start over new and micro businesses. We'll see. Other than concentrates and edibles out West, I haven't found the greatest flower. I have read about some premium growers and boutique shops, tho.

Looking forward to seeing how your harvest goes and what kind of squish you get out of it. Have you put the freeze dryer to good use, yet? I recall you getting one, but my brain isn't remembering if/how much you put it to work.

Hope to catch up on everyone's grows and projects over the upcoming holiday breaks...

Sounds like somethings gotten blown way out of proportion. Thought we had more patience here. Why is it families always seem to argue around thanksgiving?

There are some topics that get zero patience from me. I won't go into all of them but killing animals is one.
Don't spam my thread with a video of you killing or hurting an animal. You'll be firmly told I don't want it. Do it in your own thread or one of several threads that have gone into the sewer with tasteless content on this forum. Needle on about it, especially while I'm trying to beat covid, I'm gonna cuss you out without remorse.

This twisting of it, like a picture of a cooked steak is somehow the same as the steer on the kill line at a slaughterhouse doesn't jive either. Like the difference between art and pornography.
So it's real simple...keep the dead animal videos and pics off this thread. Bad enough I have to smell this garden. I don't need images to match.
If it makes anybody feel better, I cussed out some bitch already this morning for posting a pic of a dead dog ran over in our neighborhood news feed. Fucking depravity of people makes them lose common sense.

Howdy Bob! Been wondering about you lately.
Work ebbs and flows for me and this next few weeks will certainly be very busy too.

You're seeing a grow here that's really been years in the making. The results of what happens when you put everything you've learned into action and you have some of the best possible equipment to make it happen along with some new ideas and techniques.
When i put it together it seems to become more than a grow and it's more like a reckoning.
Not gonna change much for the next grow. Thought I would expand but wont. Don't need to with hauls like this from just a 3x3 bed lol.
Very much in my happy place doing hydro-organics. It's how I was always meant to grow weed. When I pictured this garden in my head it looked pretty close to how it's playing out. Plants got taller than I wanted but I also never expected a few colas to be the size of my lower leg either. Beer bottles are the minimum I prefer but leg size? ;rockb

Great to hear about Va!!! Man...as soon as the coal industry started to get shaky, VA shoulda just pivoted to weed. Colorado economy was in the gutter before weed and now it's an economic powerhouse.
I just don't get political stubbornness on going legal and never have.
Like weed money isn't green enough for some of these guys in Texas.
We could give a million to the Lt Gov and that POS would turn it down but take 750K from booze and private prison lobbyists. Like WTF? Dude has got to be taking money under the table and off the books it's so obvious.

Hit those boutique shops for sure. Big name brand shops, out of state investor shops, and chains are where dispo weed is usually lacking any quality. If they offer a lot of incentives like buy one doob get another free, pass on that stuff. Well maybe try it if it's your fist time and see but there's usually a very good reason why cheap weed is cheap and or free.

Funny you ask about the freeze dryer.
I was getting ready to do a run last weekend but got hit by covid. Thought it was cold or flu but it was the big kahuna bug so the extraction lab stayed shuttered over the weekend.
The entire Supafreak haul I had was around 1/2lb? Give or take an oz.
All of it is on ice right now. Fresh frozen at harvest to be freeze dried and extracted.
That one is exciting because the terps are pineapple bubblegum. I'd love an air freshner of it.
I saw Costco has the freeze dryers on clearance now across the nation so the $1600 Harvest Right FD like mine is only $1200 now. Still spendy but they are plug and play, come with the vac pump, and super ez to use.
Last weekend was my only free time to do it until maybe the Saturday but likely Sunday after Thanksgiving now. Team is in a fight for it's playoffs life right now with the next two games being must wins along with a shortened week next week with the holiday and game the next day. Lots of grinding still to do before I can relax and heat up the ol squishin' machine

Take it ez Bob and don't work too hard man. Holiday season is here and time to chill if ya can!

That's just nuts man!
Like I was thinking in an earlier post about cannabis laws in the US vs Canada and the UK....It's wild how these are free democracies but at the same time extremely oppressing with money and at times dictatorship like.
I don't know too much as a very loose observer but it seems like the free health care is nice but the cost is staggering at how it taxes the people. Seems like that would be great for older people but I would bet the youth have a real disdain for the government.
I don't have a solution or anything and enjoy the low prices in the USA but have to pay for insurance thru work. IDK which is better but but damn gubment likes taking our money don't they?

BTW, an OT subject I've been meaning to ask you...has your son gotten into 3D printing a wallet?
My old leather job is wearing out and I'm thinking about making one of those futuristic looking card wallets.
One like these...I want one with the tap pay exposed so I don't even have to take my card out to pay anymore

Hey bud, hopefully that covid shit goes away!

✌️

Thanks Brother. 5 years ducking and dodging that motherfucker and it finally got me. Didn't even know it was still around like that.
Most psychedelic flu I've ever had. Didn't know I had it but wife got it so bad she needed to visit the ER so that's when we got tested and found out.
I was in full body pain and dizzy with fever dreams and so was the wife but the dizzyness and puking got the better of her so we got her checked out. She took 2 IVs and a few meds for dizziness and nausea.
Got better after about 6 hours so they decided not to admit her overnight and sent her home with me ;dance
It's no joke though man. I had always wondered if I ever got it but didn't know..yeah right. You know when you got that asshole. It's starts as the flu then hits a bit different and way harder lasting about 4 days of intense symptoms.
The fever dreams though..I admit I kinda liked it. Closest thing I've had to an acid trip in a very long time! At some point in a state of delirium I got up and changed my profile on Hulu to "Husbandman". Fever dreams man! Make you do weird shit!
Another good thing is my sense of smell is very muted so I don't really smell my stinky garden lately!

Speaking of the garden...The harvest window is beginning to....

For your consideration Ladies and Gents, Purple Hindu Kush.
Nothing fancy here to make you think of sweets and treats. Just an old school throwback to the days of Northern California Skunk Sinsemilla in the late 70, 80s, and thru the 90s. The kinda grass Carl Spackler crossed with Kentucky Bluegrass and cannonballs.
Genetics and where they came from is still a mystery but likely an indica that escaped from an Amsterdam coffee shop and made it's way stateside

Setting up the tent with the same stuff that started this grow so no excuse on equipment.
Also added two 20x20 seedling heat mats hung off the walls for heaters. Forecast looks good in coming days to start a new grow out in the carport tent.
Not sure how or why there are muddy racoon paw prints on my rez?

Man what kind of covid you guys grow down there and Texasarcana? Huh?.............🤨...

Last time I trip balls like that was when I was more withdrawn off of morphine coming out of the hospital yeah that was a cool time....

Can't imagine liking that shit....... you goofy bastard..;burt

That golden tree additive from Humboldt secret.....rotten kelp and amino acids......rotten kelp and amino acids and carbohydrates!!!

Honestly neither of us touched the printer for a while. At least a month. He’s painting models ATM. He’s gotten real good at it but still thinks he sucks. One of his friends parent asked him to paint a set of game models he collected for $50. They turned out great.

By coincidence I printed three more attachments for my skadis tool rack yesterday.IMG_7734.jpeg

Neither of us has printed a wallet. I used to collect nice ones as family used to buy them at Christmas. Some were gimmicky while others too old fashioned for suits or jackets. I liked one with lots of windowed pockets for cards.

I stopped carrying one in my back pocket just before Covid because it added to me getting sciatica.

Currently we both have the same leather Swiss one that protects you from getting cards scanned. Wife got them for Christmas a couple years ago.

Now that I’m retired I got rid of 75% of the crap I used to carry in my wallet. Just the necessities now. She got me one just for CC a while back but I use it to hold all the ones I leave at home now.

I like to carry cash. Still haggle at some stores and get tax breaks or better with cash.

If these ones you found have a money clip too I’d try one. Problem I’ve found with similar ones is they can be uncomfortable in your pockets where the leather ones are more forgiving.

Don’t ever get the stainless steel ones. The outside lasts but the bend and insides don’t last.

I’ll let you know if I find a nice one on maker’s world. 👊

Thanks man. She took it the worst and just now getting past it. It's an asshole man. Woudln't wish that one on anybody.

IDK what that coon was doing other than maybe looking for the corn gluten which I used all up a couple weeks ago so maybe it smelled the empty bucket and was looking. Crab meal is also out there in a sealed bin so that could be it too. Just gotta make sure I zip up the tent from now on.
Also, IDK who or what but remember the stuff I use to deter squirrels? Something cracked it open and ate the repellent!! Either a coon or possum but like WFT? Supposed to make them leave but they eat it.

IDK about the new name but I do like pancho and lefty. Maybe Butch & Sundance.
I only wish the Bomb had a base charger too so it can sit on my couch table and get charged between dabs too.
The Bomb spinner is really cool and an upgrade to the joystick. Peak is as good or better in every other area but that one.
I also like they can wear each others hats. The Bomb recycler actually works and looks better on the Peak:ROFLMAO:

IMG_2714[1].jpeg

The Bomb though reminds me of some sort of cartoonish explosive device from the Lego Batman movie while the Peak is elegant and more adult.

That Humboldt combo is gonna help firm up flowers and make them rock hard. Goes together with that 550 like chocolate and peanut butter

I'm printing one out now and pretty excited about it. Will do another for my key chain to hold my proxy access card. Been wanting something kind of futuristic and modern and may even make a phone case to match it now.
There's a remix with a space for an airtag I missed but I use a tag in my backpack anyways which is also where I keep my wallet.
I don't do cash lol. Any cash I get I give to my wife and I don't even try to keep coins. All kinds of crazy card wallets out there now and it's just cool we can make something for cents that others are paying big bucks for them.

We ran out of weed for the first time in A LONG time, so I broke out the ol' gen 1 Puffco Peak...

I forgot how absolutely fripped that thing will get you. Such a wonderful dab. I can't believe i've just had it collecting dust for the last couple of years. Ounces of wax in the fridge and somehow we never thought to break it out...

In my defence... the last thing smoked out of it was DMT and I've been hesitant to visit the fuckin shadow realm again, especially accidently, so it sat.

I usually hit my wax pieces with the torch to just heat up the reclaim so that it drizzles right out. Well... I caught that distinct DMT smell and said "uh oh."

Thankfully it was just the aroma as I stayed firmly planted on planet Earth. Maybe later, Dobby.

Either way... The Peak is a freakin' beast. Still by far the coolest thing I've ever won. Dispensary raffle. Score!

I almost feel like if you're stoner and don't have an e-rig, you're really missing out!
I just love hash and rosin so I've been on a very long road trying different ways to partake that I enjoy and also fit my lifestyle.
Puffco pieces just check all the boxes and are better than others. Others can be good but Puffco is just above them.
The Peak and Proxy will always be my go-tos. Maybe the proxy the most really.

My Peak is my couch piece. Took me some time a bit like you to find my way with it and now IDK what I'd do without it.
Doesn't leave the home or even the living room. It's my night cap. I smoke a doob of hybrid since that's all I have right now and finish off with a few dabs off the peak to be where I wanna be, good and stoned.

The Proxy comes with me for dabs while sitting in traffic on my commute to what I use on breaks while at work. It can go into any kind of rig but I love a dry corncob style that gives me old school technique with new school experience.

I get my dabs from Washington state lately, saving some over buying local even though it's the same, just cheaper to buy in bulk at the source and ship it to me.
I get THC-a extracts though and not cannabis derived but TBH there, often times the THC-a is much better than dispo cannabis concentrates.
Live cannabis rosin is better but other than that THC-a is a very nice choice.
Only thing though...I can't really tell the difference between one and the next.
Here I have Honey Banana and Sour Cherry. Both taste and hit the same...hashy lol. Switch the name tags and I couldn't tell you which is honey or which is cherry and all of these tend to hit around 75% THC. Maybe up to 80% with diamonds and as low as 50% on cheap & discounted bottom shelf stuff

IMG_2716[1].jpeg

Only thing I don't like is how it builds up my tolerance so I'm getting to be like Stoney and prefer wax over flower almost all of the time.
Part of that is about what I've grown in the past year being mostly hybrid and lacking what I love from haze and indica so as I purge all this hybrid and load up on haze or indica grows, the wax I buy is a nice gap filler to make up for what the hybrid high is not giving me.

;bbuild

So black friday is upon us and there's some scores out there!!!
Both Mammoth and CLW are having sales and I was real close to changing out my CLW spectramax for a Mammoth Novasun but decided no and will just get Novasun parts to add onto my spectramax.

The Mammoth UV rail kit is discounted $100 so I've ordered it and will 3D print adapters if needed but it will be installed as if it was built into the spectramax making it a 10 rail; light just like the big monster Novasun

I believe these rails are 44" long and have both UVa and UVb diodes running at 100 watts.
IMO, now we're finally getting somewhere with the power needed to blanket a crop in quality UV and finally getting away from reptile lights (CLW) and blacklights (AC Infinity).
These lights are dangerous though with that UVB so these are flowering only rails.

Phenomenal stuff, can't wait to Research it further, lol.

I was pretty stoked when I got a email back from rick strassman.

Is that one of those dehydraters? Like a cheap cannatrol?

Worth a crap? Or is the hang dry still a better option?

It's an Herb Now dryer I've modified some to be a hang dryer instead of rack dryer

The results are the same as traditional methods. No loss in cannabinoids or anything. It does the same thing as hang drying in a cool room but does it in 96 hours with about 5 degrees warmer temps than room temps and air moving around the buds.
Not quite a dehydrator and you can add a shot glass of water to slow it down if needed.

I like it a lot. Costanza seems to really like his which is where I first saw it being used.
One of those things where "tradition" says bad idea but facts are, it does the same thing as normal drying.

It don't cure though. It's only for drying so for cure I use my containers, humidity packs, and an electric cooler.
I only wish it could be much larger so that's why I've got extra rings but took out the screens and made it into a tower dryer.
I'll probably 3D print a new top so it can dry four larger colas at one time

Yeah I've seen them advertised and reviewed on Reddit. Forgot the names though.

It seems like everyone that has one says they do great and all the poor reviews come from people assuming.

Did you use it how it came before modifying it? Same results?

So you're saying in ambient temps around 70, this thing dries around 75?

I really want a cannatrol but man.. spensive

Yep when I first got it I used as directed and it was fabulous. Shocked me how well it worked really.
But it's super small so I started looking at ways to make it bigger.
First, I added more sets of trays and tripled it's capacity.
Then I started to remove screens so it had racks in the bottom but could hang dry in the upper area.
It can still do that but since these colas are so big, I removed all inner screens so it can hang dry a larger cola.

When I got it I took it apart and showed pics of what's inside to find any kind of heater like a dehydrator and there is none. Stoney deciphered what it was I was looking at.
It's nothing more than a very warm running pc fan mounted behind a silicone mat and a digital timer/on/off switch wired in.
The mat diffuses the air into the chamber to circulate and yeah only increases the temp by about 5 degrees.
The air is super dry and moves well thru the chamber so that's what's drying the weed, not the heat, and why it takes 96 hours.
Timer depends though on density. This fatty may take longer, 120-150 hours maybe, while smaller and less dense buds can often dry inside of 40 hours.
I'd also say that of all the ways to quick dry for sampling, this is the best. Not as harsh as microwave or sun and not as fucked up turn to dust like a dehydrator.

The Bomb though reminds me of some sort of cartoonish explosive device from the Lego Batman movie while the Peak is elegant and more adult.

I think our covid comes xtra spicy with a side of BBQ sauce ;smoke

That Humboldt combo is gonna help firm up flowers and make them rock hard. Goes together with that 550 like chocolate and peanut butter

I'm printing one out now and pretty excited about it. Will do another for my key chain to hold my proxy access card. Been wanting something kind of futuristic and modern and may even make a phone case to match it now.
There's a remix with a space for an airtag I missed but I use a tag in my backpack anyways which is also where I keep my wallet.
I don't do cash lol. Any cash I get I give to my wife and I don't even try to keep coins. All kinds of crazy card wallets out there now and it's just cool we can make something for cents that others are paying big bucks for them.

so g;ad to hear your wife is recovering man!! all the best vibes so neither one of you have any lasting symptoms from it!!
sounds like those IV fluids really helped her out, glad to hear there were no overnight visits!!

Thanks man! Every day is getting a little better and today we can even smell again!
I fixed her up a bagel with herbal cheese and lox so now she's ready to head out and go beat some Hogs with me!!!

Yeah man we've been road warriors and now finally back at home at good ol DKR! They did us dirty and had no home games for a month and now we have two inside of 6 days of each other with the next one being Friday night. Shit goes fast!
That game ball I got for the neighbor's boy...little dude sleeps with it!!! hahaha! Good times.
Time to roll out and see the flyover and take down some Arkansas Piggys in a good old fashioned SWC rivalry filled with border war hatred renewed again in the SEC.
Have a great weekend brother!
Hook 'Em!!!!

;hem;horns;hem

Didn't know that ripinator did all that...that's cool, the data logging lol.

Always fun to pants a rival and send 'em packing!
Manning dazzled in that one!
Gonna have to come up with a light show for the Ripinator for wins!

Say man, I have a question for you.
I see you with the traxxas trucks and I know of Horizon from the NASCAR RC, are there other decent RC options in off road and ready to run trucks or buggies these days?
Associated looks too advanced for what I'm looking for and I've been out of that scene so long IDK where to start anymore.

Basically, we run the NASCARs at the public library on Sundays when we don't wanna go too far since it's closed and they have a great parking lot.
Yesterday on the way to the game, we had to stop there for my wife to pick up some books and I took this pic of the green space next to where we race the cars.

It even looks like RC cars have been there before because off to the right in that clump, looks like a jump and part of a crude track.
I'd like to get a pair of his and hers rides, RTR, for like maybe $200-$250 each. Want good trucks but don't need anything too nuts or competition level. More like seasonal weekend warrior level lol.
Surface is grassy and compacted clay soil.

Oh man the Puffco app will know more about you than you when it comes to gettin' high!;smoke

IDK Buddy..cold and dry is about how I'd describe it.

You answered a question about e-rigs before I had a chance to ask. I had bought a Lobo for one of my daughters. Now I'm looking at e-rigs for my dabbing daughter. I should probably revisit, but a couple experiences I with wax weren't to my liking. I haven't given it a fair shot, tho. Point is, I don't know what to look for and have just been watching and reading reviews. The Bomb Skycloud and the Peak are standing out, just based on what the web has offered me. Sounds like between those two, you prefer the Peak. @GrumpAzz and @Stoneyluv both seem to like their Peaks, too. Damn shame... that spinner is cool 😜. A Proxy is in the mix, too. FIgure that's a little easier to transport, but not really sure what she'd prefer.

Slick move incorporating the Mammoth UV bar into your CLW rig.

That Purple Hindu Kush 👀

With two people working in hospital we’ve had Covid a few times. First was the worst, so much pain like every place you had a break or wound in the past all hurt again at the same time. That lasted 5 days with crazy fever.

The last time was early this year. Almost a normal flu that wasn’t long lasting for most symptoms but my sense of smell hasn’t fully returned yet! Nose is runny more often as well, mostly in the mornings, still.
