Cool. I’m barely able to ignore the bugs in my worm bin. Think it would be worse if I saw even hood bugs in my soil.

BTW, linking to the farm might be a bad idea. They used to kill accounts if they found out you were on this site.

Northern Lights #2. The nose is soooo loud! Smells like someone poured a bottle of Nyqill on some left over Chinese food then heated it up and added a bunch of candy in the pot haha. Sounds gross but it’s intoxicating!

I’m trying the Woohoo fans this grow since these keep losing the oscillation. I disassembled them, reseated the oscillator gears, cleaned all the parts and reassembled for storage. Even if the oscillators fail again they are still handy fans and easy to clean.

I eventually plan to print new gears down the road but that’s a ways off.

We have had nesting pairs of mourning doves on our property for maybe a decade now.
They love my outbuildings~!
So much fun to watch the young ones every year.

We had them for decades but lost them around the lock down. Squirrels or maybe the hawks got them. Still have robins though. It’s a big pine outside our bedroom window. Noisy in spring.

I hate gray squirrels! we don't have too many here because of predators but back in the city they're worse than rats!

$40 per steak, Costco 11/26/25
Ok this is a problem. If this is the direction food prices are going this is not good. Who can afford beef any more?? This is nuts. I may as well plan on eating elk as it would almost be cheaper to hunt/eat haha. And hunting is the most expensive meat there is!!

When they slice it, the price goes way up!
Costco had the whole rib roast on sale last week at $75 off. It still costs a lot since beef prices are so high, but it was like 10 or so steaks for around $250. You just had to cut them to your own thickness and have some freezer space, vacuum bags etc lol. If you don't see it out, ask the guys in back for it.

I've cut back a lot of meat in my diet after some health problems but ribeyes, cap steaks, and briskets were so my jam. Never anything less than prime grade and even mixed in some A5 wagyu from time to time.
Today, it reminds me of when I quit smoking cigs. The next year, price of cigs doubled with new taxes. Seems like after I quit eating beef, prices doubled on it too.
Has booze gotten expensive too? I quit that too so if a bottle of Bulleit is costing more than $34 today, sorry Y'all.

Last of the garden veggies that haven’t been jarred or eaten. The large peppers will go in a sauce or stir fry the next few days, same with the tomatoes unless my wife eats them first. The cayenne and Thai peppers we already have a ton of. Might use these for a powder like you shake on pizza and give a bunch away. We use them in so many things.

I wish you were closer.......I could hook you up!

I live in two different parts of california,
the bay area, steaks can easily cost $40 a peice, in the foothills, the same steak, probably 12 to 15 dollars.

Same state, 130 miles difference, similar taxes.
Why the difference? I think it’s a matter of big name stores in large population centers keeping costs high because there is a captive audience. I guess it’s how an open market works, but people need to start looking around for better prices.
