$40 per steak, Costco 11/26/25
Ok this is a problem. If this is the direction food prices are going this is not good. Who can afford beef any more?? This is nuts. I may as well plan on eating elk as it would almost be cheaper to hunt/eat haha. And hunting is the most expensive meat there is!!

When they slice it, the price goes way up!
Costco had the whole rib roast on sale last week at $75 off. It still costs a lot since beef prices are so high, but it was like 10 or so steaks for around $250. You just had to cut them to your own thickness and have some freezer space, vacuum bags etc lol. If you don't see it out, ask the guys in back for it.

I've cut back a lot of meat in my diet after some health problems but ribeyes, cap steaks, and briskets were so my jam. Never anything less than prime grade and even mixed in some A5 wagyu from time to time.
Today, it reminds me of when I quit smoking cigs. The next year, price of cigs doubled with new taxes. Seems like after I quit eating beef, prices doubled on it too.
Has booze gotten expensive too? I quit that too so if a bottle of Bulleit is costing more than $34 today, sorry Y'all.

Last of the garden veggies that haven’t been jarred or eaten. The large peppers will go in a sauce or stir fry the next few days, same with the tomatoes unless my wife eats them first. The cayenne and Thai peppers we already have a ton of. Might use these for a powder like you shake on pizza and give a bunch away. We use them in so many things.
