A Turkey In The Hay 🦃

First thing in the morning before the blizzard I've got get out there with a rake and rake up any loose
bark and small chunks of wood around the front of the firewood block

I want to keep that area free of snow this year because I might need some wood delivered in the spring and I don't want to suck up a chunk of wood in the snow blower. I'm surprised how much wood I went through so far

As y'all know there's so much to do before the first storm! I did about 20 things in an hour this morning and then soon as I came in the blizzard started, right on schedule

But what's the one thing I forgot to do? Look around the wood pile for chunks of wood 😂🤣😂🤣 I ran back out into the blizzard in a bathrobe and got it done!

I've raked that area several times and it was clear but I just wanted to give a last look around

I slept in today and had to do the naked running man to the basement in time to close the tent at lights out. Going to have to set an alarm going forward. 🤣

We ended up with 7 inches here and 9.5 inches just a couple miles down the road.
First day of the season on the roof with snow.
Yea~!

Yikes that's about what we got here! I was just thinking about the roof 😡 I've got a new roof rake 24 ft. long so I don't have to go up on ladders anymore like with the other one that was just 12ft. or so, it broke anyway

I've got things to do but I don't have to do them today (that's the beauty of being retired) they haven't even plowed my hill yet, so if I get my driveway clear today I'll call it a win 🍾🥳🏆 and I'll worry about getting the mundane done another day

If it was the handle that broke, I have replaced mine with pool cleaner sticks.
They are much more heavy duty and expandable.
Fortunately, I will be working on a flat roof.
But today is really day 1 on a couple month long project [probably] at the base of the Berkshires.
Seems like it will be a long full winter whenever it gets here.
Stay warm it is getting frigid the next week or so..

No it was the blade, I got a nice heavy duty one now, a top of the line Vevor sno-rake 🤣 but now I get it you're thinking about a job you're on, I'm thinking about getting the damn snow off of this main room, the main room doesn't have the same pitch it's just a, you know a little... it's concerning 😞

Edit: but this was relatively light snow I'm not worried about it but it has to be done before the next storm

If I get the driveway cleaned and the roof scraped today, a cart or two of wood up on the deck I'm going to take the victory

I can reach over 3/4 of the roof from the ground, no more ladder! 🥳🍾20251203_070851.jpg
