I need to pick up a portable extinguisher to put in the lung room. Good Call!!!I sandwiched one between one of the rails on the top. Fire prevention is more critical than a lot of home growers want to admit. Properly rated fire extinguishers within safe range, and alarms are worthwhile investments.
There's these self contained extinguisher units that are super slick I want to get all some point. They're expensive as hell though.
Kinda but not quite. The ones I'm thinking of are typically used in server rooms and other electronic control rooms. Basically a tank with a heat sensitive valve iirc. You'll see em in some commercial grow warehouses, big red balloon looking things.I need to pick up a portable extinguisher to put in the lung room. Good Call!!!
Are those the ones that go off automatically like a sprinkler system? I have a unit similar that I want to put on my Nova project in the engine bay and driver cabin in case I get the bright idea I know how to drive and I put it in the wall.
Safecraft SFI 5 lbs Fire Suppression System [800300-SFI] - $0.00 : Racecraft, Camaro Mustang Chassis Suspension K-Member Control Arm Drop Spindles Fabrication
Racecraft Safecraft SFI 5 lbs Fire Suppression System [800300-SFI] - $551.00 LT has a very compact discharge head which gives it a smaller overall size. Another feature not found on even more expensive racing extinguishers is the "swivel" head design. The activation portion of the discharge head...www.racecraft.com
Yup! Novec in my project. The biggest thing is making sure whatever the retardant is, is rated for electrical. Something for grease or organics won't be safe, and likely will make the problem worse.
I had 2 Mars lights burn up, left black soot all over my tent ceiling.Yeah I had been running a Mars Hydro light for a long time until I recently heard they catch fire. haven't used it since. And I put an alarm in the tent.
You have baking soda, kitty/bunny litter, diaper liners and a few other nonwater options in a pinch until you get something better.I had 2 Mars lights burn up, left black soot all over my tent ceiling.
Now that im not angry about it anymore, i realize it can happen to ANY light no matter the manufacturer.
I have an alarm in my 3x3 inside the hanging pocket, and 3 fire extinguishers in the cabinet right next to the tents.
Im in the process of getting a suppression system, im just so poor im using what i have for now because what i have, is better than nothing at all.
I have 3 ABC fire extinguishers in my room with the tents, 2 in my kitchen, and then 1 in bathroom, laundry room, and my kids room. You have baking soda, kitty/bunny litter, diaper liners and a few other nonwater options in a pinch until you get something better.
i stock up annually as well. after living through a house fire, one becomes acutely aware of just how tragically life can change due to fire. better to have and not need than need and not have.I have 3 ABC fire extinguishers in my room with the tents, 2 in my kitchen, and then 1 in bathroom, laundry room, and my kids room.
I get new ones every year from the Christian camp up the road, the supervisor loves my kids so he gives me 8 every year.
Damn man thats crazy.i stock up annually as well. after living through a house fire, one becomes acutely aware of just how tragically life can change due to fire. better to have and not need than need and not have.
holy shit man. maybe you should go live off grid away from anything electrical lolDamn man thats crazy.
End of last year i had issue after issue.
I had 2 mars lights catch fire, a dab pen in my smoke cabinet blew up in my face and started a softball size chemical fire, then the idiots that lived here before me had a 4500 watt water heater running on a 3200 watt circuit with under rated wire so the top controller in the water heater blew up and caught fire.
Thankfully i was home for all these incidents or i wouldnt have a house anymore.
Sounds quiet and peaceful lol.holy shit man. maybe you should go live off grid away from anything electrical lol
Holy shit dude! You need a halon system and firehouse next door. Glad nothing you couldn’t handle.Damn man thats crazy.

Ya, 14 more years.Sounds quiet and peaceful lol.
Its what my wife and i have talked about doing when the kids grow up and move out. Ive got a minimum of 14 years before that happens![]()
I was out on my own at 17, but i had shitbag drunks for parents so i pretty much raised myself once i was old enough.Ya, 14 more years.
That was our plan...youngest is going on 23. Says he’s entrenched. Other has been to more of Canada than I have. Bought a house in Quebec this year.
So 50/50 odds.![]()
What about these fire balls.once it gets to a certain degrees BOOM. I opened the grow room door one morning and had smoke coming out of the back of a fan and was alight.the fan would sweep 90 deg then stop and flame would stop then the fan would start up again and small flame inside the unit would appear..that really worried me.I’ve been a slack ass since and had forgotten about it till now.those balls are about 40-60 dollars depending where you purchase them from..I sandwiched one between one of the rails on the top. 19 for me, 18 for daughter. Everyone’s different. Especially in these times.I was out on my own at 17, but i had shitbag drunks for parents so i pretty much raised myself once i was old enough.
I've thought of this as well as a IP camera. i think they are good ideas.Been wanting to install a smoke alarm in the tent and finally got to it.

man not sure if you bought it or not but you'd think that would be under inspection of the house. good thing you were home when all this happened.Damn man thats crazy.

I am sure it can happen to any light but Mars has a reputation of them burning up lol.I had 2 Mars lights burn up, left black soot all over my tent ceiling.

really, i think as a community we should do more to raise awareness around safety protocols in this hobby. commercial cats have extensive fire suppression systems simply because they're required by modern building codes.I've thought of this as well as a IP camera. i think they are good ideas.
Ha, what Inspection..man not sure if you bought it or not but you'd think that would be under inspection of the house. good thing you were home when all this happened.
wow that's crazy.Ha, what Inspection..
Its a 1984 single wide trailer.... it passed code in 84 therefore its grandfathered in and doesnt need to be up to code.... A LOT was not safe here when i moved in... Surprised its still standing.
I mean, here is the bottom of a stud around my back door....View attachment 4969
Doesnt even attach to the frame of the trailer
You wanna know how many more are probably just like it? I dont! Lol.
Been like that the almost 4 years ive been here.wow that's crazy.
