Morning PC.Hey, very nice! Tumbling for about an hour???? in what? Did you make a tumbler? I don't think I've seen that. Have you posted pics of it? I usually just toss my leaves from the first trimming of the larger ones,. I have mailed some to a friend who wanted them for tea but the rest get tossed. If I had a tumbler that might change things up a bit but what I've seen for tumblers online has been too expensive for me. Same as your trim bin, I just can't justify the $100 tax in that they cost.....I need another big casino win for some lose cash. Fkin dryer took care of what I had.
IDK if I posted any pics but I mentioned last summer/fall that I got a bubble magic tumbler for $380 out the door. Turns out it was a refurbished or used and cleaned up but considering they go for $800 up here I was okay with it.

I was using it yesterday. 15 minutes on, 10 minutes off. I got another two grams for a total of 13g. (Total run time was about three hours with the last hour being closer to two 30 minute runs.)
I stopped at that point as I noticed the latest kief has a slight green tint to it so was not as pure.
This was all I used, less than two ounces of trim. Sugar leaves without any buds. (We smoke the larf if it’s nice and these buds dried perfect and popped right off the stem.)

Edit: I weighed the trim.

First press with the new aluminum set. 170*f for 15 minutes before squeezing in a vice.

Second time I cut the hash block into four, put it back in the press, and heated it in the oven at 180*f for 15 minutes. When I put the press in the vice this time I squished a little too far and had rosin leak out.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to recover much rosin but I scraped it onto a paper to roll a joint. The hash is all sticky, had to cut it in half to fit my jar.

I’m a little tempted to try flower in it next but I have three plants to trim by the weekend so we’ll see how it goes with just the sugar leaves again.
Ya…the trim bin was a noob purchase I got talked into at the store year one or two. I paid less than sticker price but something like $70 plus tax. It’s a good bin but I think it’s way overpriced for a recycled plastic tub with a screen in the bottom.
I was going to make a tumbler with Stoney’s advice but prices up here were already getting silly so parts were adding up. Then we couldn’t find a drum big enough and my motor might have been too small. Screens were a bit pricey but I believe I did find one on Amazon. So the project sat until I was able to make a deal in-store. (Can’t do that online.)
My sons into bongs. It’s all he uses the last year or two. He picked up a new one yesterday as his GRAV one was a little short, he said.

We found out it glows. He didn’t know that when he bought it.

I haven’t tried it. I rarely use a bong. Beard and mustache get in the way.
- If you have the parts to build a tumbler I’d recommend it. I wet trim so don’t have a lot of material at the end but still did nicely for three plants. Buying the tumbler was dear but I think worth the price, the pollen press too for $40. No more dicking around boiling water and rolling a bottle across parchment paper. We’re seniors now. Saving $$$ for a while to buy the new toys to make life easier seems worth it now. I had a different perspective not that long ago.
Have a great day bud.
