thanks for explaining the UV in a way i can understand!! i'm not confused anymore.
it might be worth a try just for me to play around with, i could hang them in there quick for the last week or so where i'm at now. considering what you say about it being almost strain dependent on the results i may have to try a few rounds just to compare.
i can see what you mean in the SS550's diodes. when i turn my lights on to just show only full blue spectrum my webcam almost picks up a uv look to it.. my VG almost glows a little bit and you can see that purple hue a little bit on the leaves so i can fully understand what you mean about the blurple lights almost having an advantage when it comes to using uv and marring those spectrums together.

my current crop is pretty frosty as it is though, pure hybrid many times over and even my fan leaves have oil on them right now.. so prolly not the best example to use with uv.

man just a couple days till game day!!! you pumped or what?!?! saturday noon my time starts the WVU game then at 3 is some texas on texas action then a night race at 730!!!!! ahhhh yeah baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
and ya know man, with you running these longer strains out like this
@GrumpAzz and i almost beat ya in timing without even cheating!!!!!!!! hahahahahaha
Dude...If I ever drop either Satori, 80's Poison, or Acapulco Gold indoors it will be an opportunity for Y'all to lap me!
Seriously, they've been in 12/12 for almost 2 months and barely showing pistils or balls meanwhile everything else is starting cotton balls.
I'm learning though and coming up with a plan. 6 month outdoor grow into Winter or go maniac indoors with something like 8 on 16 off but that 8 is so ruthlessly powerful that's all they can take. Was pondering a light depo greenhouse last night too
A lot of times with UV it really doesn't pile on trichs on top of trichs but it will grow them where I don't usually see them. On indicas and hybrids I might find them growing prolific on the undersides of leaves and on the main stalks and branches. Almost everywhere but the roots.
On haze almost the same thing but I'll see trichs on leaves and frosty haze leaves are very rare. It's part genetics too so when you get both the genetics and the light matched up well you'll see some positive results or at least enough to keep using it.
It's not overnight instant either. You don't add UV today and see a blizzard tomorrow. It all happens slow and over the course of the grow just like regular trich production. It just happens in unexpected places and that's when it's noticed.
If you're looking for definites, they're not there. You just have to go and try it and see what happens. Nobody will be able to say you add X and you'll get Y results for certain.
For all i know, what happens in my room could be totally opposite of somebody else. All this shit works this way. Even your lights have been dragged thru the mud in ridicule by others but look what they do for you and did for me. That Bugsby guy is some kind of light guru but I've seen shit happen he says is impossible. I'm not gonna debate his cult following when I find a contradiction. Instead, I just ignore it and keep going. That's what keeps me on the hunt because yeah this guy may say it does this for him but what does it do for me? You never know for certain until you do it. And if it fails, try it another way. I try shit all kinds of different ways to see what works best. Been working with several types of UV delivered all sorts of different ways never letting one failure be the absolute deciding factor because with failure there are wins along the way. Right now with UV I'd say I'm at only around 30% success and 70% failure over everything I've tried and what I started in the beginning isn't anything like what I'm doing now.
The other thing that keeps me using it is bugs hate it. I've talked about this more than once for sure and IMO this is the main reason to use UV.
The bug factor is what moved me to use it a lot more than just a few hours a day and start using it early on for the full lights on time.
It's in that arena I think about how growers are using inner canopy lights and how that would be more ideal if they were UV.
Talk about misery for any bug that wants to live on the underside of leaves!
And with that...UV does not have the spectral competition so even blacklight UV at a low power should be able to work as a pest preventative in the nether regions of a garden wiht5out much added heat or any other negative effect. I'd love to see how that would play out on a known infested garden. I doubt it would kill them but for like mites or gnats I'd bet it would seriously reduce any damage and put a ceiling on the infestation so it didn't expand.
Yeah man the blue diodes and the proportion they're at is simply special in the ss 550s IMO. The trade off is I doubt you could ever grow a cola larger than a beer bottle with them since the red is offset. You sacrifice a bit of yield for a loud increase in potency. Worth it and then some if you ask me and why I've been trying to get my system into some blurple because I have all the weight gain I can ask for so now it's about adding that blurple to blizzard them up. Along with other goodies thru the roots, push them into greezy toddler sized monsters.
Hell yeah it's game week but honestly I'm more excited about Darlington and the first race of the Chase.
2 weeks Ohio Stae comes to town and I'm sure that will turn the world of college football on end and all eyes on ATX. All the networks and that clown Pat maccaffee will be here dooshing it up and kissing our asses. Punk ass chump that guy.
Get it while it's good because this might be the last year of power house matchups to start the season. From now on OOC play will be against the Sister Mary of The Poor Universities of the world and no more Blue Blood vs Blue Blood unless it's in the playoffs.
So along those lines I really don't wake up for football anymore until it's OU weekend. Buckeyes coming to town I'll open one eye up but yeah mid-october I get excited because we'll know what we hjave and what the rest of the world has to win it all.
I saw the Raiders are starting Cousins. Eww. Just go with the rookie!!! Raiders aint winning anything this year so let the kid get his lumps. NFL man, I swear sometimes. No Fun League is truth
The Chase has me all excited though. 25 poiints on trivias this week too sent me over 9K finally.
I love how Brisky is driving lately too. No more of that wait until it comes to him...he's out there taking it now!! Hell yeah!!!
I wish Texas had a playoff race though. That's the only bummer is they come to visit both tracks in the Spring and that's it. I'd like to see Texas and St. Louis trade weekends and Texas get it as a night race.
I saw Nemecheck is out of the 42 and Berry will get that ride. I doubt we see Nemecheck in Cup again after Loudon and how he fucked that up so bad. Maybe not in any of the national series either. I hear JJ personally fired him and it was like a week or two after a contract extention.
