and ya know man, with you running these longer strains out like this @GrumpAzz and i almost beat ya in timing without even cheating!!!!!!!! hahahahahaha
I got a lot to catch up on here... here there and all over man. Been terrible at keeping up with anyone's grows lately.

Our little man started walking 3 or 4 months ago and we haven't had a spare moment since. Little animal is busy and brave so he demands a pretty watchful eye.

thanks for explaining the UV in a way i can understand!! i'm not confused anymore.

it might be worth a try just for me to play around with, i could hang them in there quick for the last week or so where i'm at now. considering what you say about it being almost strain dependent on the results i may have to try a few rounds just to compare.

i can see what you mean in the SS550's diodes. when i turn my lights on to just show only full blue spectrum my webcam almost picks up a uv look to it.. my VG almost glows a little bit and you can see that purple hue a little bit on the leaves so i can fully understand what you mean about the blurple lights almost having an advantage when it comes to using uv and marring those spectrums together.

my current crop is pretty frosty as it is though, pure hybrid many times over and even my fan leaves have oil on them right now.. so prolly not the best example to use with uv.

.
.

man just a couple days till game day!!! you pumped or what?!?! saturday noon my time starts the WVU game then at 3 is some texas on texas action then a night race at 730!!!!! ahhhh yeah baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude...If I ever drop either Satori, 80's Poison, or Acapulco Gold indoors it will be an opportunity for Y'all to lap me!
Seriously, they've been in 12/12 for almost 2 months and barely showing pistils or balls meanwhile everything else is starting cotton balls.
I'm learning though and coming up with a plan. 6 month outdoor grow into Winter or go maniac indoors with something like 8 on 16 off but that 8 is so ruthlessly powerful that's all they can take. Was pondering a light depo greenhouse last night too

A lot of times with UV it really doesn't pile on trichs on top of trichs but it will grow them where I don't usually see them. On indicas and hybrids I might find them growing prolific on the undersides of leaves and on the main stalks and branches. Almost everywhere but the roots.
On haze almost the same thing but I'll see trichs on leaves and frosty haze leaves are very rare. It's part genetics too so when you get both the genetics and the light matched up well you'll see some positive results or at least enough to keep using it.
It's not overnight instant either. You don't add UV today and see a blizzard tomorrow. It all happens slow and over the course of the grow just like regular trich production. It just happens in unexpected places and that's when it's noticed.
If you're looking for definites, they're not there. You just have to go and try it and see what happens. Nobody will be able to say you add X and you'll get Y results for certain.
For all i know, what happens in my room could be totally opposite of somebody else. All this shit works this way. Even your lights have been dragged thru the mud in ridicule by others but look what they do for you and did for me. That Bugsby guy is some kind of light guru but I've seen shit happen he says is impossible. I'm not gonna debate his cult following when I find a contradiction. Instead, I just ignore it and keep going. That's what keeps me on the hunt because yeah this guy may say it does this for him but what does it do for me? You never know for certain until you do it. And if it fails, try it another way. I try shit all kinds of different ways to see what works best. Been working with several types of UV delivered all sorts of different ways never letting one failure be the absolute deciding factor because with failure there are wins along the way. Right now with UV I'd say I'm at only around 30% success and 70% failure over everything I've tried and what I started in the beginning isn't anything like what I'm doing now.

The other thing that keeps me using it is bugs hate it. I've talked about this more than once for sure and IMO this is the main reason to use UV.
The bug factor is what moved me to use it a lot more than just a few hours a day and start using it early on for the full lights on time.
It's in that arena I think about how growers are using inner canopy lights and how that would be more ideal if they were UV.
Talk about misery for any bug that wants to live on the underside of leaves!
And with that...UV does not have the spectral competition so even blacklight UV at a low power should be able to work as a pest preventative in the nether regions of a garden wiht5out much added heat or any other negative effect. I'd love to see how that would play out on a known infested garden. I doubt it would kill them but for like mites or gnats I'd bet it would seriously reduce any damage and put a ceiling on the infestation so it didn't expand.

Yeah man the blue diodes and the proportion they're at is simply special in the ss 550s IMO. The trade off is I doubt you could ever grow a cola larger than a beer bottle with them since the red is offset. You sacrifice a bit of yield for a loud increase in potency. Worth it and then some if you ask me and why I've been trying to get my system into some blurple because I have all the weight gain I can ask for so now it's about adding that blurple to blizzard them up. Along with other goodies thru the roots, push them into greezy toddler sized monsters.

Hell yeah it's game week but honestly I'm more excited about Darlington and the first race of the Chase.
2 weeks Ohio Stae comes to town and I'm sure that will turn the world of college football on end and all eyes on ATX. All the networks and that clown Pat maccaffee will be here dooshing it up and kissing our asses. Punk ass chump that guy.
Get it while it's good because this might be the last year of power house matchups to start the season. From now on OOC play will be against the Sister Mary of The Poor Universities of the world and no more Blue Blood vs Blue Blood unless it's in the playoffs.
So along those lines I really don't wake up for football anymore until it's OU weekend. Buckeyes coming to town I'll open one eye up but yeah mid-october I get excited because we'll know what we hjave and what the rest of the world has to win it all.

I saw the Raiders are starting Cousins. Eww. Just go with the rookie!!! Raiders aint winning anything this year so let the kid get his lumps. NFL man, I swear sometimes. No Fun League is truth

The Chase has me all excited though. 25 poiints on trivias this week too sent me over 9K finally.
I love how Brisky is driving lately too. No more of that wait until it comes to him...he's out there taking it now!! Hell yeah!!!
I wish Texas had a playoff race though. That's the only bummer is they come to visit both tracks in the Spring and that's it. I'd like to see Texas and St. Louis trade weekends and Texas get it as a night race.
I saw Nemecheck is out of the 42 and Berry will get that ride. I doubt we see Nemecheck in Cup again after Loudon and how he fucked that up so bad. Maybe not in any of the national series either. I hear JJ personally fired him and it was like a week or two after a contract extention.

remember when you put the blurple light out in the greenhouse? big glowing beacon!!!! hahaha

man that is one hell of a point you bring up on the bugs.. i remember you saying it before but if didn't really stick with me.
i wonder what would happen on an infested plant.. they just run to all the other plants. grow something near it out of the UV. non cannabis to be a sacrificial plant. wipe out millions with just one flame thrower!!!!

this is gotta be something all kinds of outdoor growers could experiment on. i wonder if the plants would have any negative response if the blacklight was pointed up from under the plant to the undersides of the leaves?

.

yes, the raiders are starting cousins.. been the stupid plan the entire time. that first preseason game looked promising and everything else i saw and read since then has me wanting to look into tattoo removal. i'm just praying that the new coach is holding his cards very close and bluffing right now.

.

i feel weird about the playoffs this year, not sure why... something to me feels off and i can't really explain it. so many teams were talking about a hard reset for the playoffs and now is the time.. i think if you turn it on now you're too late.

i saw john hunter not coming back.. didn't realize it was kinda ugly. you're right though, he's gonna struggle picking up a ride in any national series.. his name already got him as far as it's gonna get.

i just cleared the 9k this week too.. got a bonus 63 for my premium subscription. got my fantasy all loaded.. nothing to claim till saturday now..

Briscoe is on one hell of a roll right now.. i feel i have him in for the best week i could for the pool. a couple in front of me have him too though.
i didn't see many special wraps this week, aren't they doing the throw back weekend at darlington anymore? or did i miss that? I've been high a lot.. haha

I liked blurple in the greenhouse but may like old cmh gear out there even more!
Ha that's part of the light depo idea and sticking a GH in the shade but using CMH to supplement the Sun.

That's actually exactly what I saw...Mites on one plant and then completely avoid a plant next to it under UV. Not just one time but several times since mites were a thing I kept getting for about 18 months.
I also saw it stop their climb dead in it's tracks. If you know what I'm talking about here...mites usually start in the lower mid section of a canopy. they build their army then climb to the top to web and fly off to start another colony. I've seen UV put a very low ceiling on that climb to where they stayed low and in a killing zone for pyrethrum spray to be 100% effective killing them off.
Since i've been using UV extended times, no mites have hit my room and I know they are knocking on the door but can't come in with that UV. I see infestations in the trees and landscapes everywhere here. That's also how I see all the wasps and ladybugs because it's a feast for those dudes. See those, you know they're feasting on mites.
I started looking into it more from experts and voila...

The flip side is it does attract shit like moths and mosquitoes but if you can keep them out which I do, UV becomes a pest preventative along with some oil making qualities. The oil stuff really is secondary to why I use it but during the ripening stage it shows up more since the rest of the lights are dimming down so it seem like it's a ripening only thing. Next, I'll use it starting at birth.
There's something to that though too...One of the best T5HO veg lights is made by Hortilux and it has UV built in and marketed as a veg light. Combined with my own seedlings getting dangerous levels of UV outside, I'm pretty sure they can take.

Innercanopy lighting is exactly that...lights at the base of a plant and pointing up. It's applied in rails and I've also seen rings that go around the base of a plant

images.jpg

My Mammoth Novasun rails are innercanopy but I use them overhead.
I'm not sold on this yet. Like everything in this game it comes with hype and promise just like UV but it promises increased yields and turning larf into top shelf.
I can dissect this and decide it has nothing to do with lights but in how the plants are trained and pruned. At this point I consider it a waste of resources.
Put all the yield magic aside and consider if they were UV and what that would mean to the areas which pests and molds begin to take hold. That's where I think innercanopy has it's place.
Outdoors here the mites avoid direct Sun and we have extreme UV. They stay in the shade and the inner canopies of trees where the UV can't get 'em. They're staying off my plants since they pretty much get nuked by high UV every day

There's a new banner on the fan rewards dashboard to win a TV. If you enter it will give you 20 points but it may spit out more. I got 20 though!
I'd be a bit weirded out too if I was a Chevy fan hahaha! It can't be just the new nose. Maybe they just don't have the Gen7 advantage anymore IDK.
Tied with Ford in wins and Toyota has more than both combined! Odd seeing the 9 the only HMS car with a win too.
My only concern with Brisky is if he and Bell for that matter will have to yield and help Hamlin since he's the flagship car. I'm always nervous about politics of that sorta stuff. Felt like the 24 was the flagship at HMS until the 5 took it like cornbread so I think that's what Briscoe has to do.

New bongs are like getting a new pet. Now I need to come up with two new names

On the left, I'm thinking of naming it after a classic old school strain, "Martian Mean Green"
On the right, I've had it for a couple years and named it Taj Bonghall.

And then there's the new guy, the gnome in the center.
The little dude is a monster hit...two chambers and each one has a showerhead perc. The flowerpot bottom hold a lot of water..maybe two cups of water between bottom and top chamber. And I added a purple glycerin ash catcher for shits and giggles.
I think his name will be Sparkit Bubblebottoms

Homie was in Garden Party mode last night for the final chop!

I grew a Thor's Hammer 😋

Welcome to Chonkertown.
Lots of stuff in the freezer too. Prepping for at least two types of hash runs doing rosin and bubble hash Frenchy Cannoli style with dry herb and a washer and curing.

I smell a lot of black pepper and tobacco coming off the Bodhi haze. The freebie Super Silver Strawberry is better than what I bought, Strawberry Mama IMO. SSS is 100% keeper to work with for a fastish flowering haze
Morrocan Peaches was more chemical baby shit/baby food sorta aroma.
Romulans were all over the place from sweet and musky to earthy and skunk

Everything gets extracted in some sorta way from here but I might smoke a doob or two of some Romulan and SSS

IMG_5083[1].jpeg

Tore the hotrod down to the chassis and ran the shop vac.
Plastics are outside for soak and pressure wash over the weekend.
As soon as this is all dry I can toss it in the freezer with the fresh frozen then mop and wipe down with orange oil and let it rip on an indica run

Is this like a scissor lift Bandit..oh..nice haul too brother 👊…never seen weed hangers like that before.they look like a bear trap from a distance with no teeth 😆.they look like they fold up..

Bag and tag, nice harvest boss!

Many thanks Ninja!!
Not my favorite grow and at times I hated it but got thru and in the end, got something to show for it.
I was close to starting over at least three different times but decided to ride it out.
May have learned as much I I harvested...mostly things not to do...like trying to run a grow thru August with no ac and outdoor temps at 105 was a really bad idea 😋

Is this like a scissor lift Bandit..oh..nice haul too brother 👊…never seen weed hangers like that before.they look like a bear trap from a distance with no teeth 😆.they look like they fold up..

Thanks Max and yep exactly, a pair scissor lifts..
A sort of all purpose hydraulic lift with a max height of 30" and max weight of 300lbs each.
They can be controlled and wired up several ways and even be portable and run off 12 volt. Pretty much an elevator for my plants since my lights is so big it's a hassle to hang it and move it up and down so it's fixed and mounted to rafters.
Motorcycle lifts could also work for this but most are manual with a jack. The electric is an awesome luxury that's made me spoiled.

Those things I use to hang dry are for hang drying socks and underwear but work great for weed too. There's a ton of styles and I pretty much picked the shape and size I thought would fit best in my drying tent.
Most fold up for storage in laundry and TBH I'm really surprised AC Infinity and those guys haven't caught on yet and market them to growers

I've had these for a long time and have broken a few clips so when it comes time I'll likely go for all metal and something like this

It's really science that's far beyond my pay grade so I'm like the dumb guy who just tries stuff and wonders why and how it happened to work out.

When it comes to light, the way I understand it is that all photons are not created equal.
Different "wave Lengths" of the photons electromagnetic spectrum.

the atmosphere distorts the incoming sun-wave-photons and we get different visible and non-visible spectrums.
some has more "energy" some does not.

these different wavelengths have different energy effects on photo-cells/photo-receptors.
Some are more dense and travel faster than others so you can have one color raining down and say you add another color that's not as dense or as fast to target and that target is a plant, the plant will take in the faster and more dense photons more than it will the slower and less dense if they pick up the lesser at all.

So that's where the driving power comes in because you can have 10 watts of UV but if it's working alongside 500watts of every other color in the spectrum, the UV will be unnoticed by the plant.
In the early days of LED there were some light companies that would wire in a few UV diodes and say it was something special but often times, the photons were just too weak to be meaningful and didn't register even on blacklight posters.
Sometimes the smaller lights like reptile lights can be used but for a very small area. Like using one to almost touch a single cola in the grow has given me good results for a lone cola but not for the entire garden. I just happened to get it so close it's low power matched up well with much higher powered lights further away.
the LED technology wasnt there yet, but its getting better.

While y'all were talking, I was doing. 😋
I'm not much for chatter on that stuff..enough voices in my head giving me ideas but I do find what's in theory and what can actually be applied are worlds apart.

You and me both brother. Can't they all just get along?

I keep picturing Bandit growing under a bug zapper now. 🤣

I did that but they came out speaking Afghani with a Jamaican accent and in the USA these days, weed talking like that could get me and the plants deported!

Seems the breeding project I started here is wrapping up with the males not producing much pollen anymore and the ladies settled in, knocked up.
Over 40 seeds popped and thru attrition and selections it was trimmed down to just 3 keeper mamas and about 7 or so worthy males

Motown Lockdown is being brought back from the brink of extinction thru a micro mini mutt project that will yield some seeds to reboot the strain

An alien IBL and mutt cross is on the way. These two expecting mamas like to ugly it up for me in the pics but I'm loving their sass.
The seeds from Jawa Pie x Cherry heartbreaker will move to the front of the line for my next grow

80s Durban Poison IBL is on the way.
I'm proud of myself for this one because I hit on a personal goal. IDK what I'll do with it...fucking 6 footers started at 12/12 from seed and one plant will take the space of 3 lesser plants but here is a 100% legit and authentic straight from Capetown cut of Poison in a Central Texas luv tub making thousands of more seeds before the December cut off.

And so it begins

I am that vulture. Waiting for others to give up growing and I swoop in to pick the carcass clean at a discount.
I had a feeling patience would prevail here because these are the new things in growing weed that lose 50-75% value as soon as the box is opened even if it's not used.
I expect lots more will be up for sale very soon

such good info on the UV in your reply man, it gives me a great place to start and what to kind of what to expect to see. i can see now, stoney why are your uv lights pointed at the door and not the plants??? hahaha to keep the bugs out!!! hahaha funny but also very awesome as well!!! i think i could deal with a moth or mosquito if it keeps the bad guys out!!

we're finally having a nice hot dry day today!!! rh is in the 30's for once!!! the air is warm but i don't care i'm drawing it through the basement anyway!! i'd rathe have it dry right now!!!

i can't wait to see your extractions coming up man!! you had a couple times to practice now and i can't wait to see what you come up with next... you'll be knoming it up!!!!!!!!!!! haha

and i'm gonna have to keep an eye out for one of those folding hangers like that.. mine is a pita to store with it being solid.

Another UV rail came on my radar recently. This one is made by HLG so that alone makes it worth a look IMO
I don't like it's lowish max power but this is where the tech stands in 2026. I think mine are only maybe 20 watts more? I think mine have a thing where if I only plug in one to the driver, it gets all the power where as with two the power is split. Sometimes it's better for two low power and sometimes just one but over power it and hope it holds up is a better option

It's funny how what was once a 4 hours on during the last of the 12 hour light cycle recommendation is now a leave it on the whole 12 hours thing now.
Like almost everything new that's come along, baby steps.
The fact of the matter is nobody fucking knows man. This company expert vs that company expert and none of them really know exactly so we get all this crazy info about when and how to use new tech lighting.
The only thing I know is one UV rail results don't say what another rail will do. Like in no way no how do AC Infinity rails compare to my Mammoth. Both are UV but that's where the similarities stop. The same for every other light. Don't expect a reptile or poster light to do what a horticulture light can do

Huge day and night tonight then hopefully at some point on Sunday I get to squish something! IDK though.
What's happening here is probably the biggest circus I've ever seen come to town. If I didn't know any better I'd think this was Super Bowl Sunday.
It's hot AF still but I also saw a 12 person beer bong last night along with something else I'm not even sure what it was but looked like Nike had a bash party and I had access to it.
Didn't watch ESPN this morning but they're here too.
Flag is waving in the wind and I'm ready!!!

IMG_5183[1].jpeg

Gettin' fancy today!

IMG_5178[1].jpeg

ahhh yeah, nothing like brand new flags and bongs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've been in and out of the house most of the day but i have the WVU game on cranked nice and loud!!!

i think practice and quals should be on soon too i think!!!! i got to run out for a quick errand and then when i get back i'm gonna do an oil change on the jeep and maybe catch the last of qualifying and then get ready for some action later tonight!!!!!!!!!

nuthin but the best...

Did I read somewhere your satori bitch is taking ages to start budding.was that straight from seed Bandit..how’s she going now.she is one of the strains I will eventually purchase..

Many thanks for the happy bdays guys!!!
It was an odd one....I had to fast and start a flush for a colonoscopy and today did the deed but they gave me the good drugs and all is well in my exit system!
But yeah...this was my cake and bday dinner all in one package. Only one water bottle shown but I actually put 8 of them away between Saturday night and this morning

IMG_5194[1].jpeg

Now that I'm kinda sorta awake and normal again I did make myself a little treat for this evening.
Didn't have much to squish since bleach tips are so rare and random but I cobbled enough together for a 1/2" x 2" puck and gave it the business.
Had a feeling about the white stuff and how it might come out almost transparent. And this was at 195 for 4 minutes!

IMG_5191[1].jpeg

First thing I did though was go to work in the kitchen and make something healthy and delicious.
Tempted to do the ol bacon double cheeseburger and gobble it down in the drive thru but I was patient and did it right...blackend salmon, veggie meddly, wild rice, and bakery fresh cornbread with whipped garlic

Scooped up a sweet 125 bday rewards points and hey man did you know that TV game is every monday so we can get 20 points entering that game every Monday! I thought it was just once but nope.

Add a new grow toy too!
I got tired of haggling with newbs over used pricing so I took these guys up on a military vet discount and snatched up a new Cannatrol.
Didn't want a glass door anyways and planned on covering it but this dude is all murdered out!

Wildlife has loved my satoris and took most except for one male left I'm gonna use to practice collecting and storing pollen.
Yes I have the Mozambique Satori Elite and it's pure 100% sativa about as close to landrace it gets.

That, my poisons, and another from Vietnam should be started at 12/12 indoors.
Outdoors, these are the kind of plants that get as big as a house if you start indoor early and they do get veg time.
It takes about 2 months for them to finally flip to flower and at least 2 if not 3 more months to finish.
I have them in a 6 month commitment category so if I drop those seeds I know I'm in it for 6 months and no veg time.

The more that sativa can be reined in with indica breeding it can be tamed to more of a haze plant with not such a long wait but even those I won't veg anymore because they too will finish very large.
Only the 100% indicas stay small for me at 12/12 and will usually top out at around knee high.

The satori male is in my sausage party collection and he's the widest and tallest of them all. His top went over 8' this past weekend.
The long flowering types are worth it though. That long bloom seems to make a more euphoric and sometimes psychedelic effect plant I don't find in any other kind of cannabis

I have more really good things to say about Mandala. I can't really go into the depths of it for security but there was some monkey business regarding mail theft at a hub here..postal employee type level of theft but Mandala took care of me even when the missing order was no fault of anybody or even customs.
This order has been a long time coming and wasn't ever a priority but it was some very special fem stuff I wanted to mix into some grows. I started a collection of charas strains and if these come in I think that makes 4 or 5 of them but the ones here already are regular and for breeding.

'bout to find out!!!

Big hit of Hell Yeah!

It's all the high without the flavor and smell to me.
Like natural distillate and that's why it fascinates me but it is missing the full body of terps. The only thing that seems to come thru is a light musk and wood but other than that it's missing the floral and skunks and sweets when I get them.
I'm pretty fucked up off it though and I got this idea about making a layer banana cake with the bottom layer banana ice cream then that Dolly Parton banana cake then top it with banana pudding and sliced bananas;blks;rockb;bsmoke🍌

I'm not a baker but I'm cooking on this one!!!

Cake came out well so I let it cool and let the pecan coconut frosting warm over night and also made the pudding.
Got up early and put down the frosting, let it chill and firm up then layed down the pudding

IMG_5247[1].jpeg
IMG_5250[1].jpeg

I doubt I can do a layer of ice cream but tonight after work I'll figure it out in the dish with a bottom of ice cream then the cake and a handful of sliced banana on top

Checking out my mamas this morning and I think they're all expecting!!!

It's the C-Cure model with no wifi and with military vet discount it was $850 delivered. No discount I think it's $1000 + $50 delivery.
I was willing to pay up to $600 for the old model with glass door but couldn't come to an agreement so I went new.
They are small and that's the big issue but I deploy 3 different processes at the end of the grow so I can make that small size work.
I face the same issue with my freeze dryer being undersized but I make it work well.

DIY is another option and with that I'm pretty sure one could be made using a large win fridge and small heater inside for much less. Lots and lots of youtube videos about how to make one. I wasn't up for hunting all the stuff down so I opted for plug and play.

Wow..they ripping us right off down here.and that hydro store was sold out…either they are cashed up or with rocks in there head.when I convert that to au $ it’s 1400 with no discount..even postage say 600 bucks to here ya still save a grand..

I’m like you bud..I cbf going the diy route.i ain’t got that much motivation haha..hmm .i won’t get one yet but I will look in your stores over there and see if they can post it..any stores you could recommend Bandit or anyone else tuned in..

If you get it from Amazon just make sure its sponsored by them shipped by them. That way no hassles returning and usually just a QR code is needed. Almost instant refund.

I ordered direct from Cannatrol. They're at a few online hydro shops and one local hydro shop in the US. The local is full MSRP then 20% off but it's the old model set at the old high price. I think it comes out to around 1200 in cash, more if I pay with card. They're in Vermont so even shipping to Texas is $50. Nice to get that waived.
Outside US borders is just insane price gouging between governments. You pay it for stuff from here and if I order anything from overseas, I pay it too. I hate it for both of us man

It’s suxs big time brother.i tried to get some cmh lights ages ago from growers choice and they wanted 8-900 to send.oh I forgot...anything over a g we have to fill out a declaration and pay duties ,taxes and stuff.they are making it soo hard now it’s not funny.
