I dont think that will kill gnats… that bacteria is to prevent other bacterial and fungal infections. That specific brand is probably the best bang for the buck though. Very high counts and much more concentrated than hydrogaurdI dunno but this works 100% - https://www.amazon.com/General-Hydroponics-GH2133-Defguard-Fungicide/dp/B072LVMDWX
One or two treatments is all you need and you’ll never see those bastards again.
Do you mind explaining why it's a bad idea? I've seen it on google in multiple places that a diluted solution kills them.No dont do that… get some BTI (mosquito bits) and some yellow stickies. Should be able to knock them down to next to nothing.
H2o2 is a terrible idea
I’m going to go out on a limb and say it would be detrimental to your soil’s bacterial colony. It’s primary purpose is to kill bacteria.Do you mind explaining why it's a bad idea? I've seen it on google in multiple places that a diluted solution kills them.
H2O2 kills off everything both good and bad. It is also damaging to the root system of the plant.Do you mind explaining why it's a bad idea? I've seen it on google in multiple places that a diluted solution kills them.
If you dose high enough to even harm them you will kill every microorganism in your soil… in an organic grow that means no more nutrients…. Google can be idiotic you can find facts that the earth is flat on google to make my pointDo you mind explaining why it's a bad idea? Someone say beetle juice, beetle juice, beetle juice?Honestly bring me any fool who makes the claim H2o2 will cure your problem and ill make them look just that…. A fool.
IDK why this topic gets me so heated but its an absolute bunch if fucking bullshiit thats all over the web like cancer…. You have to understand what h2o2 is and how and what it reacts with. Do some reading on that and you will see it’s absolutely asinine for ppl to make the claim its an effective treatment.
Ok i need a beer and chill.
With the success I have seen against RM I would certainly give it a go.Not trying to get ya heated @Aqua Man but I seen this posted by @SSHZ in the thread about russet mites.
1/4 cup Dr. Woods Peppermint
1/4 cup Dr. Woods Tea Tree
1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide
1 cup rubbing alcohol, no higher than 70%
2 quarts warm water.
He said as long as it isn't in flower this is good
Not trying to start a battle, I just bought the Dr woods stuff...idk though if i should return it or what now thinking about it. Does this work with organic nutes/microbes and all that jazz or is it maybe better to use with soluble salt nutes?
Sounds reasonable… look at the dose of HP 1 table spoon in 2 quarts…. Its not whats doing the work there. And if you did just the HP alone at that dose it would do nothing and im 100% confident he would say the same thing. Not trying to get ya heated @Aqua Man but I seen this posted by @SSHZ in the thread about russet mites.

Right on I was just going to use it as prevention and lightly spray every couple weeks just to do something (currently doing nothing lol). I was more concerned with the isopropyl to be honest. My friend here in stl has been adding a pinch of peroxide to his cloner, seems to be working for him.....so far....but it's a very light dosage I think like 3 mL per gallon or somethingSounds reasonable… look at the dose of HP 1 table spoon in 2 quarts…. Most online stuff with HP would be 1 tablespoon added to 3-4 tablespoons water…. Thats a huge difference
You need to look at the dose and a few other things… not just as simple as hydrogen peroxide
yeah at 3% thats a reasonable dose… in hydro or a cloner we are not growing organic and actually using it to kill microorganisms. It dissipates extremely fast so its dosed every 2-3 days.Right on I was just going to use it as prevention and lightly spray every couple weeks just to do something (currently doing nothing lol). Right on makes sense. I just upgraded to a aero cloner today from just using some peat pellets and clone x so I need to get up on that knowledge a bitI should

How it works in that case is you add and it knock the population down but dissipates in a few hours. As microbes start to rebuild right after that we dose again in 2-3 days and knock it back down.
Thats how hydrogen peroxide works in his case. It’s extremely short lived and reacts with living and dead organics.
You so not want to do this in soil and it would take a ton to kill them off but in all likelihood you will kill everything else off long before you kill the gnats then your left with gnats and no microbes
Change the water every 2-3 days with tap and you can skip adding peroxide if you like… the chlorine/chloramine from tap will be sufficient if changing the water out that oftenRight on makes sense. There is a hack out there to make your own clear rez on the web or YouTube. Then you can run the cloner a couple weeks if it’s a larger one that runs cooler and ph maintained.Change the water every 2-3 days with tap and you can skip adding peroxide if you like… the chlorine/chloramine from tap will be sufficient if changing the water out that often
Yeah lots of options out there for that. Is it an aerocloner? If so the temp regulation has a lot to do with the pump timer settings. There is a lot of misinformation out there on how long the intervals and on time should be.There is a hack out there to make your own clear rez on the web or YouTube. I run a ez cloner that has a 4 gal capacity when it’s filled. I should have added that clear Rez needs added every 5 days. I have never tried that hack mixture for it personally. I can afford clear Rez and it’s simpler for me to just buy Instead of mixing my own. I just mentioned it because it’s probably more effective than peroxide. I run my cloner 24/7. No intervals. I typically get 100% rooted in 10 - 14 days. Res temps stay 70 - 75.Yeah lots of options out there for that. Is it an aerocloner? You would be very surprised i think to know that 5-10 sec every 20 min should be more than plenty and that will keep your res temps pretty dam close to ambient or slightly cooler than ambient
Yeah those res temps are absolutely fine bro… sounds like you have a good process going thereI run a ez cloner that has a 4 gal capacity when it’s filled. Ok cool, what you think about this...I run distilled water that 98% of the time has zero ppms....I've only caught it having some ppms (like 20 ppm) once or twice. So I'm not really trying to change that out every 2 or 3 days that'll get pretty costly/wasteful. My thought was the 0 ppms is gonna be a great starting point, but maintaining it (ideally I'd like to keep the same water in it for the whole cloning process so two ish weeks) will still be necessary....so I was thinking of just adding the peroxide from time to time. My buddy had the same RO water + peroxide here and there in his cloner over a month. Idk how clean it was by the end. He said it was clean but idk if he checked. Think with starting pure 0 ppms and just adding a little peroxide ever few days would be good? Can I check my ppms....like if they go from 0 to say 50 or 70 would that indicate bacterial growth (my mind says yeah)? Trying to figure a way to check the water...I guess that would be the way...to just test ppms and ph to make sure it's in range?Change the water every 2-3 days with tap and you can skip adding peroxide if you like… the chlorine/chloramine from tap will be sufficient if changing the water out that often
Yeah the RO will remove the chlorine and chloramine or at minimum almost all of it.Ok cool, what you think about this...I run distilled water that 98% of the time has zero ppms....I've only caught it having some ppms (like 20 ppm) once or twice.
