Bluelab pH pen is "hydrating" apparently it needs to soak in kci for 24hours.

Little disappointing it's not calibrated out the box, but I figured as much, it seemed to be reporting more acidic than the Phenol red color test.

hoping after this 24hoursoak and i attempt to calibrate, do it properly, and it'll read 99% accurate.

Crazy how fast these plants bounce back, find my self removing leafs every few nights.

Still trying to get my solution 100% perfect.
Now I need a cheap ppmeter, then I want to get a DO probe with ORP value.

Trying this JRCROPTECH Bloom, and supposedly I'm still supposed to use 15-0-0.

Mixed up a 1.4ec/700ppm+whatever my tap water is----gallon batch
3g bloom/0-21-26
1.4g 15-0-0

Apparently don't need to add anymore epsom and the 0-21-26 includes 5~% magnesium so may be enough, I think this (JRCROPTECH) formula is formulated under LEDs, not sure.

pH at 5.8-5.9 according to the blueLab Pen after 24hour kci soak and 2pt.-calibration at 7ph and 4ph.

Just dont have calcium chloride for the flower batch. So to keep that in mind on how that mixes and affects the ppm/EC but very small amounts are used anyways so I may be fine without it.

quick protip. keep that pH pen vertical, and wet. the probe doesn't tolerate being horizontal nor dry for long, at all. sure you know the wet part, but vertical is the way my guy.

I have this thought that the more mature a plant is (to a degree) , it doesnt like it as acidic(?), Or doesn't need to be as acidic(?)

got our settlement money, trying to spend it wisely and thinking about ways of turning it into more, it's not much just a few thousand but maybe something to start to "put the money to work"

And get things to make this place more of functionally convenient home.

I was just thinking about that a few hours ago and figured it made sense to hang it since KCI is supposed to be in the cap.

So thanks for confirming that I'll keep it vertical when I'm using it too.

The idea is to min-max the root zone/pot space for compact high-density grows.

Balancing it all out.

But I may attempt a "simpler"-mess-free, less-hands-on RW grow next run

That pH seemed to stabilize somewhat, did not rise as high as I thought it would hours later and stayed around 4.5 now up around 5.5. last checked.

Gotta check again but other things call my attention for now.

It's 29$ to get the care kit, so fucked my self out of 30$ , and for 5 more I could have had the nice kit too.

I could probably part ways with my EC pen now that I have two meter's, one for each res, I don't see myself using the pens much. You just pay for shipping.
