Nesta’s Blueberry Cherries and Ice Cream Cake RDWC

Temps 73 (lights off) 80 (lights on). I am calculating VPD using AC Infinity controller. I am using air temp and not leaf temp.

I have 4 oscillating fans in there, but none pointed directly on the plants.

Whats the lights on humidity? Still about 60?

Also pic of the roots. This is kinda looking root or bug related. Light seems a bit high for them also.

You said the other plants are all fine. Do you have pics of them?

Lights off humidity is around 54. Water temps 73. PPFD at the canopy is 480. Yes everything else looks pretty good. I’ll get a shot of the roots shortly.
Here is the full tent. The back right is a funky GMO cut, so I’m not concerned about that one. left side are both ice cream cake and the front right is the B&C in question

How the stem at the base of the plant look?

I think your VPD is too high at 1.2
I would lower it down to 1 and get your humidity up in the high 60s low 70s with lights on
I don't hit 1.2 vpd until around week 6 of flower

I just realized I never posted. What’s in my nutrient solution.

GH Trio ( 40% of the light feed schedule)
Hygrozyme
Southern AG GFF
Armor Si
Ruby Fulvic
Cali Magic

Interesting. I guess I’ve run too high VPD this whole time. Thats an easy adjustment.
I could be wrong about the VPD causing this, I'm no expert grower I just saw that high VPD and thought maybe that could be a cause who knows

Do you have an IR temp gun to check temps?

Just the way the leaf curl is at the base of the stem and spiked leaf edges reminds me of russet mites. Also the yellowing on new growth which can happen in early stretch but usually combined its a root or pest issue.

Ill have to look more at this later.

What light cycle are you on at the moment? If 18/6 480 ppfd is pretty dam high for those plant sizes

Im on 18/6. I knew you were going to tell me to turn the light down 😬. Im at roughly 32 DLI. What do you recommend at this stage?

what week of flower are you at? looks to be around weeks 2-3 I don't think 32 is too crazy

He is about 30 DLI and its not crazy but its getting to the upper limits if everything is dialled in and the plants are happy.

Genetics, environment and all other factors play a huge role. Some can easily handle that and some cannot. Plant size plays a huge role also and sativa’s can naturally handle more light than indicas. It has to do with total leaf surface area and sativas are lower.

personally im not a numbers guy. IMO we should go by the plant response and use numbers as a ballpark to get us close.

IMO the goal in veg is to grow the least stressed and health plants we can so that wr can hammer them in flower

If you drop down to 400 and see how that goes…give 4-5 days to see how they respond. It is also possible its more than light related and the plant is stressed and thus is not able to handle the light the others are.

Process of elimination takes a bit of time but also provides valuable knowledge and that’s worth more than a perfect grow any day of the week

Your roots do look a little weird to me. Like they're self pruning or something like that. I haven't seen roots act like this.

Here we are 11 days post flip. The stretch has been manageable, which is good. The Blueberry Cherries is still a little funky, but looking better. Res is sitting at 600ppm, PH 5.8. Planning to add a second trellis for support in the next week.

10 days later… switch to Bloom nutes a week ago. I went for the light feed schedule and definitely have seen some tip burn. Going to back the nutes off a little bit. Other than that, things are chugging along growing quickly. the blueberry cherries still looks goofy. I’m thinking it might be genetic at this point. I took a clone of it and we’ll see how that grows.

I wish there was an emoji for what my face did when I saw that Icecream Cake picture.
That’s a beautiful girl! It’s also a crazy amount of trichomes on the fans! That’s going to be strong medicine.

Icecream cake makes me sleep really well.

The blueberry isn't handling the light as well compared to the others, it looks like.

More N.
How long in flower?
The one with the dieing leafs looks like it needs more nutes, but it's sitting in 600ppm water, though i don't know the makeup of that ppm/ratio.

And it is starting from the bottom though, could be N-def, I'd check that plants roots as well.

I'd prune those smaller buds in that pic above with dead leafs, waste of resources for the plant.

Those buds won't amount to much

Ice Cream Cake is taking the show this grow. Nice terps and super frosty. The terps on the blueberry cherries is fantastic but I hate the way it grows. The clones grew the same way so I culled all of them.
