When medical marijuana was passed in Michigan via referendum, the legislature insisted on calling it "Marihuana" on all official documents and med cards, just in case anyone wondered about where their heads were at.

Back in the 60s, drug education hadn't progressed much beyond Reefer Madness. I remember reading all the horrible effects of drugs, like hate, shame, despair and sorrow. "Then why do people take them?" was not the question Mrs. Gentile (my actual 5th grade teacher's name) was prepared to answer.
