I went to the grocery store today and people were panic shopping toilet paper and bottled water. It was insane.
Apparently there's fake weather maps going around on social media and people think we'll be -10 in a few days.
Meanwhile in reality land, it was 90 fucking degrees today.

these people really entertain me!!! what are ya gonna do with cases of frozen water when it is actually -10? hahaha.. what are they gonna keep it warm?!?! haha

and who doesn't have a few extra days of TP on hand.. what do they live their life roll to roll?!?!? wtf??

around here it's always bread and milk.. if a storm is coming people buy all the bread and milk off the shelves.. why?? so what if you do actually get stranded for a couple days you might need three weeks worth of milk and bread in your house??

The red flag was the -10. Maybe + single digits every five years or so but -10? No.
The tp and water is unique to us I do believe. Add in brisket too because when it starts they drop the two brisket max on us.
But yeah, here's your average dipshit Texan at the grocery store when it gets cold or there's a workers strike, or somebody sneezed.



Like all people must do is shit and drink a ton of water. So weird.
Our bidet came in so handy during covid I still have a funky pandemic package of tp that doesn't have the hole or tube in the middle. We never ran out even though stores were out but I did buy that pack when I saw it.
Just a straight up 8 pack of apocalypse roll tp and it reminds me never do that shit again.
We shop all paper products at Costco so we're always stocked well in bulk but never feel the need to pile onto that. Same with food stuffs. Only thing I might go stock up on is pet food and just get what we need, never over supply. People do that then the next week they're trying to return it all.

At -10° folks in Maine start thinking about whether they should put on a winter jacket or not

being born and raised in Boston I thought I knew what a New England winter was

But my first year here it was 25 below with a wind chill of 40 below several times, I had a rude awakening!
