Any input is appreciated:

In the four years I've been away from growing I kind of forget how to dry and cure

What I recall is I want to hang buds and get their humidity between 58 and 62% (I used to fill a jar halfway or so and put a hygrometer in the jar for at least 12 hours to get an accurate reading)

then once they're in that 58-62% range I jar them and burp the jar at least twice a day

I think I put the boveeta packs in after they've stabilized right? I don't put them in right away cuz they steal the terps

That's what I remember, have I forgotten or am I missing anything?
 
I don't burp per say.
Once I jar I do install Boveeda 62%.
If RH gets to 65 I open the jar for a couple hours or a day.
Most of the time if I jar at the right time I never burp them at all.
I never heard of the Boveeda packs messing with terps but am not super educated on all this to be honest.

This screenshot is not depicting windchills btw ;) Yesterday, in the a.m., it was -31. I'm like 2hrs south of Ontario. International Falls mn(border city,) gets crazy cold temps, is only -2 hrs away

I've been waiting for someone to ask the same! I also will have no exterior way to dry and am trying to b able to dry w/out getting another tent. I have a drying basket but think that will interfere with the canopy/light for the 4 I just flipped.

I can never get may parameters perfect for drying, I can get the 60% humidity but 60-62F is a tough one. I built a small 3x3x3 box with a computer fan sucking air our with filtered passive intake and a small osculating fan inside. I get my humidity close and dry around 68f. Once well dried I put in Grove bags for 2+ weeks with 62% Humidity packs, Boveda or Boost Integra. Aft 2 weeks it is smoke able and has absorbed some moisture from the packs. Smell is back and the buds have firmed up after over drying.

Oh so you do put the boveda packs in when you put it in the Grove bags, got it

I haven't ordered grove bags yet I don't know if I want to do those or do the jars if I'm honest, I don't have a lot of weed in this harvest so there won't be a ton of jars to burp

I was thinking of a 3X3 tent to hang my basket in and I could put a humidifier with a controller in it that would give me about my best control, I don't know where the hell I'm going to put it though I'm in a smaller place here, just 1100 square feet, a lot different than the grow room back at the beach house

I guess I'll wing this one and come up with a better solution by the next harvest, I'll figure out how to fit a small tent in somewhere

Yes I'll put 2-3 of them in a 1/4lb Grove bag $4.50Cdn each the large size 67 (67gram). 62% + 62% + 62% = 62% so the more the merrier and they are reuseable. I order 1-2 bags and humidity packs every time I place an order. The Boost $5 are a bit Cheaper to buy and seem to be as good as the Boveda $7.50

I said I would never buy them but being able to recharge them makes them easy and economical.

I have to make up $125 Cdn orders to get free shipping so I'll add a few in when I get other supplies I get all of my grow supplies from https://indoorfarmer.ca , I like having 2-3 of the large bags size 67 in a 1/4lb bag

I used to put them in a Ziploc with a wet paper towel folded up and leave it in the sun and almost all of them recharged!
 
Was talking about this very thing with my neighbor yesterday, he asked me if I'd heard about the big storm coming tonight, going to drop a foot+ of snow?

Told him I don't care because I've got that big-ass Ariens

He said he doesn't care cuz he just bought a big-ass tractor 🚜 He won the conversation!

More Hermes from Greenpoint, this is the Onyx Crush that unfortunately I just started more seeds of because the Red Beards had such poor germination (2/5)

Those are just nanners, you may get a seed or 2 but they won't amount to much. You can pull the little yellow bananas out pretty easily. Those aren't the flowers we look for around 2 weeks into flower that fk up a whole grow. I think they come from stress, too much light, too cold,?????? Genetics

Naw, there nothing to worry about,
I've kept the close eye on them since I read the issues on the green point thread and they were fine up until about a week ago

I don't have a problem running the next set of them, in fact the genetics sound freaking delicious, I can't wait to try a bud

Now that I'm thinking about it I might try a lower bud this weekend, sit it on a rack on the wood stove for a few hours it'll be dry enough to sample

I should have been more clear, or said it in a different way, I don't blame genetics for the nanners

I don't remember how many power outages we've had but recall a whole day when my light cycle was a lantern in the tent 😂

...and there was that time that I left lights on for 3 extra hours 🤦🏻

It takes me 3 days after a power failure to get my lights timed right. With mechanical timers 8pm is not always 8pm so day 1 set, day 2 adjust day 3 adjust again. My far red I want on just before lights out and it takes a few days to get that right.. I have a few digital timers but they are tricky to set programing on and after a while of not doing it it takes some time to figure them out. All but 1 I can't get it. I looked online but its no longer made and no instructions could be found
 
I went out to grab a couple of logs for the fire and saw snowdrifts in excessive two feet out there holy mackerel 😲

My first year and a half here I used a little electric snow blower that I used on my postage stamp sized yard back at the beach house, that's how I had the nasty fall that broke my ribs and wrist

That's why I got this big brute of a snowblower last year! It's 30 inches wide by I think 20 or 22 inches tall, it's an amazing machine, can't wait to get out there and get this fluff cleaned up!

Considering they're calling for wind gusts in excess of 55 mph starting around 9:00 a.m. I'll be out there getting it done within the next few hours before the tree branches overhead start dropping

With a little tailwind I can throw fluffy snow in 10° weather a good hundred feet! (I'm having way too much fun with tasks I should dread 😂)

What I don't enjoy is scraping snow off the back roof but I'm going to do that later before it solidifies into a block of ice (hoping some will blow off). I got this new roof scraper, 24 ft long so I don't have to go up on the ladder anymore, makes it a lot easier!

I'm also going to get a chance to try out my new snowshoes! I bought them last year, not to go trekking on the lake across the street, but to simply reach my dump piles in the woods, the weekly Trek to dump the ash bucket is relatively close, but the monthly Trek to dump the cat litter box is waaay out there in bobcat country 😾 IMG_20250217_044549.jpg

It only officially counts as procrastinating if I wait till spring.

Get er' done! 🤣 They lifted the high wind warning for here 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Wind is the only thing that scares me.

We do have occasional high winds here, like everywhere else, so I do try to take precautions, I've already been hit with one 'widow-maker' tree limb and that was during the summer! So I've learned to walk looking up when I'm under the trees in wind

Yes you know after you mentioned them I Amazoned, got overwhelmed by the amount of cheap shit and left without purchasing. I'm glad you posted this, now I have some idea of what to look for.

My only real issue is I walk from upstairs to my basement and to do that I have to go outside walk 50 ft to down 3 steps then 40 ft to my garage door then I'm back in on cement while I'm in my grow room. same back up. Those suckers will be awkward to wear indoors long so it means off and on 4-5 times a days...and my poor cats tails fkin ouch....lol...but thanks those are not these cheap things1739807066925.png
 
Understood, I've chewed up my wood stairs coming up on the deck pretty good with them🤦🏻 but now I leave a pair of old slippers out there and I leave the spikes on an old pair of boots that I just slip on and off, no need to lace them, and they're fine to walk on a concrete floor like a basement or garage

After the fall I had I'd be crazy to go without, it not only affected me all that winter but it made it difficult to till in the gardens in the early spring too, I felt that damn wrist fracture for about a year 😕

I had a pair like those in your post, I still have one, the other one came off and I didn't notice it and it got chewed up by the snow blower 🤣 I like the spikes better but those will do the job too, the yellow studs fall out tho

I wear the ones with the rubber springs.
They don't cause damage to hard surfaces and work just fine.
Front door was froze shut by piled snow and ice~!
Garage doors were frozen shut to the point the door opener would not lift~!
Used the tractor to break it loose.
I don't think my F250 with the 5 way plow could have gotten through this stuff.
It was rough on the Kubota but I finally got the driveway cleared.
Took like 1 1/2 hours. 12f wind chill, thank God the sun was shinning just a little.
I can only imagine there are people in my area who are stuck in their houses or driveways.
I knew it snowed, sleeted and rained and then snowed again but did not expect it to be as bad as it was.
All done and time for my reward~! :coffee:;roll

How much snow did you get? We got about a foot

Glad to hear you like these type crampons cuz I've not seen this kind until recently and I have a pair in my Amazon cart right now that I think I'll pull the trigger on per your recommendation

Spikes around the farm, but I'll wear that kind everywhere else, and looks like I can drive in them too

I also tried the yellow cleat kind for out & about but even with light use half the cleats fell out

We got maybe 3 inches Saturday and 3 more Sunday night after the sleet and rain.
No way using a snow shovel would have worked.
Not stiff enough and too large to pick up full or whatever size piece.
A garden shovel size piece was about 25-30lbs. ~!
I was shocked. I never cleared after Saturday because I was not going to do it in the sleet or rain so it just got packed.
I have felt the tractor did a better job then the big plow but just can't imagine pushing all the weight.

On the Yaktraks be very careful on tile floors. They can have the opposite effect on smooth surfaces.

And yea the prices just North of us are devastating IMO.

Well I'm not trying to get into the politics of it or how much the United States gives Canada in foreign aid every year or any of that, but I did find that big of a variation in price surprising

And while I'm not the biggest Trump fan, he hasn't even been in office a month so it's not fair to blame the inflation that we're all feeling on him, that came from the last set of chuckleheads

Oh I know I'm not into politics at all but with $55 cleats and a proposed tarrif I just cringe at the thought of whats next. Oh I think hes better for you folks than the last guy but not so much for us...That's it no more politica I'm just an old stoner so wtf do I know anyways

Only two or three grams left in the Kif jar for one more pressing and then I've got to get to shaking! 😕

I can probably find dry ice up here, I might look into it cuz I don't need to shake all that Kif quarter oz at a time, my elbows played from four winters of swinging a pickeroon at firewood 🪵🪓😩

So one of the flowering GPS Onyx Crush plants is throwing 🍌 like crazy 🤷🏻

I checked it recently and it's still got tons of clear trichomes 🤦🏻 I'll go over it with tweezers at the next watering, slow the nana's down a bit

Unfortunately I've got three more of them in the seedling tray, started because of the poor germination of the Red Beard OG Platinum Kush (2/5)

So I'm screwed in this next run before I even get started WTF! 🤬

Edit: One of the three Onyx Crush seedlings is a mutant, so that's two mutants out of 5 Onyx Crush seeds started, and another one's throwing nana's IMG_20250221_074309.jpg

Weekend Update:

These are the seedlings now, gonna pull the mutant (middle)

The blooming plants have been dropped down to 10 hours of light, I had hoped they would be finished by next weekend but it's looking like it's not going to happen that soon

No problem holding the seedlings under those 44 Watts of light on the rack, they're doing very well

might start some Parks Whopper tomatoes 🍅 under those lights after I get this set into the tentIMG_20250222_113124.jpg
 
I got a bunch of different seeds if you want some I can list them.
I mean a bunch of Ethos, DragonsFlame, Anesia,GPS [ that grew well for me], and more.
I got a bunch and will probably never get to them all.
